A Development of the Algorithms for Automation of Slicing Machine with GUI Interface (GUI를 이용한 슬라이싱 머신의 자동화 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this study, PC-based slicing machine and driving software were constructed for the purpose of automation of semi-conductor cutting process. The biggest feature of software is variation of parameter and include data base, signal monitoring, error report, corresponding action or automatic motion planing. Parameters were drawn and algorithms were developed to make software by GUI interface. The cutting experiment was done for sampled wafer to see the effectiveness of the soft automation. From the experimented and implemented results, it is shown that parameters for automation of slicing process could be drawn, then its algorithms constructed. It could be considered what is the merit of this slicing machine by comparing the PC-based and the NC-based.

  • Concrete Pavement Cutting Operation have Labor-intensive features. And Cutting Operation quality and productivity is influenced by operator's experience. Moreover Workers have risk of safety concerns. Therefore we need Concrete Pavement Cutting Operation automation system and system support software development on the economics. First of all we have to develop driving Path Planning for Concrete Pavement Cutting automation system. If result of Path Planning connect with automation system, Weak points is a complement to the existing Path Planning and we can obtain effective automation system. Consequently this paper suggest method of Autonomous Driving Path Planning for Concrete Pavement Cutting Operation And the Path Planning system application.

  • In this paper, an integrated automation system of pattern design and $CO_2$ laser cutting for diving suits is presented. Pattern design includes grading which creates a full-size range from a base pattern. Tool path for laser cutting from the patterns is generated in G-code format. $CO_2$ Laser cutting machine is developed to help cut the patterns with accuracy and speed. Aluminum profiles, ball screws, and stepping motors are engaged into the machine as frame structure, transfer unit, and driving devices respectively. The developed system is tested in dry suit cutting, convincing it can be readily introduced in driving suits manufacturing with respect to cost and efficiency.

  • A cutting head is an attachment on the front of an excavator that cuts or grinds rocks. Cutting tools, called pick cutters, are arranged on the surface of the cutting head. The exact arrangement and configuration of pick cutters is one of the most important factors in determining grinding efficiency. This study focuses on the problem of automation for pick arrangement design, in order to make the design process more efficient and convenient. Design automation was carried out using RecurDyn/ProcessNet, and it was composed of three parts: 'Drum set', 'Pick load', and 'Pick arrangement' sections. The presented method helps to decrease costs attributed to designing cutting heads and can be used to generate a wide range of attachment mechanisms.

  • Interactive Graphic Robotics Integrated Programming(IGRIP) can handle various types of robot models and can exchange graphic or numerical data easily with other CAD software. In a cutting process of shape-steels, however. IGRIP is inconvenient because the users must generate all the tag points manually. In this study we developed an automation program module in order to generate the tag points automatically in IGRIP This program can read and analyze the macro data containing the information for cutting processes of shape-steels and can generate automatically the parts, the devices, the tag points and the Graphic Simulation Language(GSL) program files useful in IGRIP.

  • On-line process control equipment for CO $_{2}$ laser cutting is unavailable for industrial application. The major part of the industrial cutting machines are regulated off-line by highly educated engineers. The quality inspection of the sample is visual and referred to different quality scales. Due to lack of automation potential laser users hesitate to implement the cutting method. The first step toward an automation of the process is development of a process monitoring system and the research is concentrated on the area of on-line quality detection during CO $_{2}$ laser cutting. The method bases on the detection of the emitted light from the cut front by photo diode. the signal from photo diode has been undertaken from Fourier analysis and statistical analysis. As a result, it is possible to estimate striation pattern according to beam travel speed.

  • In this research, the effects for surface Improvement of plasma ion implanted carbide endmill tools were observed by measuring cutting forces and tools wear affecting surface roughness in high speed cutting. From the 2nd ion mass analysis, the oxidation layer was found to be built up by sputtering. The residual gas contamination of oxygen was found to be contained impurities in nitrogen gas. The plasma implanted ion was found to be spreaded, especially the nitrogen was implanted up to 150nm depth as impressed voltage and ion implanting time. It is analyzed as bring surface improvement by spreading deeply forming oxidation on surface. The factors in Analysis of Variance(ANOVA) about mutuality cause reference of cutting force. The cutting force Fx is affected by the interaction of spindle rpm and federate, the cutting force Fy is influenced by spindle rpm and time injected ion, and cutting force Fz is affected by the interaction of impressed voltage and feedrate. Also, it was found that the cutting forces of implanted tools become lower and the surface roughness is improved by the effect of nitrogen according to the implantation.

  • The pipe-cutting machine developed in this study is a portable device used to cut a steel pipe. The machine, which is attached to the steel pipe by magnetic force, is moving around the pip e using four wheels. It also works for straight cutting of a steel plate. For the higher precision and labor time reduction, the automation of a pipe-cutting process is needed. However, it is not easily achieved because of vibrations and the loss of track. It is also found that the problems of the automation arise from the coupling of the functional requirements for the pipe-cutting machine. So, it is very difficult io solve the problems by a conventional design method. To overcome the difficulties the new design process for the pipe-cutting machine is established by axiomatic approach in this paper. Based on the Independence Axiom design process, a new product is designed and manufactured. Finally, it is verified by experiments that the performance of the automatic pipe-cutting machine is improved

Due to the lack of automation the potential laser users hesitate to implement the cutting method. The first step toward an automation of the process is the development of a process monitoring system and the research is cincentrated on the area of on-line quality monitoring during CO$_{2}$ laser cutting. The method is based on the detection of the emitted light from the cutting front by photo diode. The developed monitoring system consists of the OP Amplifier, A/D convertor, power supply and PC. The signal from the photo diode has been undertaken from Fourier analysis and statistical analysis with real time. The photograph of striation pattern was taken by metallurgical microscope. As a result, it is possible to predict the striation pattern according to the beam traveling speed.
