고속 회전형 공구헤드의 설계 및 성능시험 (Design and Performance Test of High-speed Swivel Tool Head)

  • At present, a high-speed swivel tool head of a small size is required to improve the productivity of CNC automatic lathes. Hence, there is growing interest in shorter machining times with higher cutting speeds. However, an increase in the rotation speed of a swivel tool head also has adverse effects, such as vibration and noise caused by the swivel tool head system. In this work, the fatigue life and contact pressure of a swivel tool head bearing system driven by gears were calculated. Based on the calculated results, a prototype swivel tool head was manufactured and its static and dynamic characteristics, i.e., the vibration, noise and precision, were measured using a reliability testing device which allows the application of cutting force to the end of the swivel tool head.

  • 원자힘현미경(AFM)을 이용하여 탄소나노튜브소자에서 탄소나노튜브를 전기적 또는 기계적으로 조작함으로써 전기적 특성을 변형시키는 연구를 수행하였으며 이를 이용하여 탄소나노튜브의 절단 및 연결을 시연하였다. 조작과 동시에 AFM을 이용한 정전기힘측정법을 적용하여 탄소나노튜브의 절단 및 연결을 시각화할 수도 있음을 밝히고 이를 결합하여 본 연구에서는 AFM을 이용한 탄소나노튜브소자의 극소적인 변형 및 조작이 가능하다는 것을 보였다.

  • As methods reducing damages by jellyfish which enter the coastal areas of Korea, attaching cutting devices to towing nets of otter trawls or pair trawls and/or using a canvas type of cutting nets of small fishing boats have been widely utilized. In order to reduce shut-down damages of power plants in coastal areas due to the mass influx of marine organisms including jellyfish, a possible improvement of the traveling water screen system and various jellyfish influx blocking devices were suggested in this study. The results could be utilized as an important index for reducing damages by jellyfish bloom which cause on a massive scale in summer in Korea.

  • The resonators made of piezoelectric crystals such as a quartz crystal are widely used. Their frequency-temperature characteristics are of primary importance for their applications to the frequency control devices. The characteristics estimation is useful for determining their design parameters. In the present paper, several types of resonators are numerically analyzed. The numerical solutions are made using 3-D Finite Element Modeling, and the results are compared with the theoretical values whenever they are available. To demonstrate the validity of the present numerical approach, the application is made to the analysis of the plates with some well-established cutting angles. For the resonator stable with temperature change, the cutting angle is important in which the temperature coefficient of the first order is chosen to be zero. The rotated Y-cut plates in thickness-shear mode are considered. The equivalent circuit representation is often used fur describing the characteristics at the electrical terminals which enables the circuit analysis including the effect of temperature change by using the circuit simulators. The equivalent circuit parameters are obtained by fitting the admittance-frequency curve from the finite element analysis.

정밀 엔드밀링을 위한 실시간 공구처짐 보정시스템 (On-line Tool Deflection Compensation System for Precision End-milling)

  • This paper presents development of a practical tool deflection compensation system in order to reduce the machining error from the tool deflection compensation system in order to reduce the machining error from the tool deflection in the end-milling process. The devised system is a tool adapter which includes 1-axes force sensor for detecting tool deflection and 2-axes tool tilting device for adjusting tool position through computer interface on line process. Experimental in investigations for typical shaped workpieces representing various end milling situations are performed to verify the ability of the system to suppress the surface errors due to tool deflections. With the system, it is possible to get precise machining surface without any excessive machining error due to increased cutting force in more productive machining conditions.

CNC 공작기계용 온라인 실시간 위치오차 보정시스템의 개발 (Development of Online Realtime Positioning Error Compensation System for CNC Machine Tools)

  • The online realtime positioning error compensation system 'SKY-PACS' is developed to correct geometric errors, thermal errors and tool deflection errors induced by cutting forces on the vertical machining center. 'SKY-PACS' communicates position commands and position compensation signals with the CNC controller at 100Hz, which is CNC control frequency. So the compensation procedure can be applied during axis movement. Using 'SKY-PACS', Maximum 1 axis positioning accuracy was corrected from 5{\mu}m$ to 2{\mu}m$and the squareness error of X-Y table was corrected from 51{\mu}m$/m to below 4{\mu}m$/m. The error compensation under the cutting condition is carried out by ISO10791-7. And the measurement of test-pieces shows that the roundness is corrected rom 8{\mu}m$ to below 5{\mu}m$.

  • Pyrotechnic devices are widely used for space appendages. However, a cube satellite requirements do not permit the use of explosive pyrotechnic device. A nichrome burn wire release has typically been used for holding and release of deployable appendages of the cube satellite due to its simplicity and low cost. However, relatively low mechanical constraint force and system complexity for application of multi-deployable systems are disadvantages of the conventional mechanism. To overcome these drawbacks, we have developed a segmented nut type holding and release mechanism based on the nichrome burn wire release. The great advantages of the mechanism are much lower shock level and larger constraint force than the conventional mechanism using pyro. Flight model for on-orbit verification was developed and verified through release function test, vibration test and thermal vacuum test.

  • Hard coating application is effective way of cutting tool for hard-to-machine materials such as Inconel, Ti and composite materials focused on high-tech industries which are widely employed in aerospace, automobile and the medical device industry also Information Technology. In cutting tool for hard-to-machine materials, high hardness is one of necessary condition along with high temperature stability and wear resistance. In recent years, high-entropy alloys (HEAs) which consist of five or more principal elements having an equi-atomic percentage were reported by Yeh. The main features of novel HEAs reveal thermodynamically stable, high strength, corrosion resistance and wear resistance by four characteristic features called high entropy, sluggish diffusion, several-lattice distortion and cocktail effect. It can be possible to significantly extend the field of application such as cutting tool for difficult-to-machine materials in extreme conditions. Base on this understanding, surface coatings using HEAs more recently have been developed with considerable interest due to their useful properties such as high hardness and phase transformation stability of high temperature. In present study, the nanocomposite coating layers with high hardness on WC substrate are investigated using high entropy alloy target made a powder metallurgy. Among the many surface coating methods, reactive magnetron sputtering is considered to be a proper process because of homogeneity of microstructure, improvement of productivity and simplicity of independent control for several critical deposition parameters. The N2 is applied to reactive gas to make nitride system with transition metals which is much harder than only alloy systems. The acceleration voltage from 100W to 300W is controlled by direct current power with various deposition times. The coating layers are systemically investigated by structural identification (XRD), evaluation of microstructure (FE-SEM, TEM) and mechanical properties (Nano-indenter).

페키니즈견에서 발생한 연속적 폐염전의 전정맥마취하 자가 절단식 선형 복강경 스테플러를 이용한 치료 (Treatment of Spontaneous Serial Lung Lobe Torsion Using Self-Cutting Linear Endoscopic Stapler in a Pekingese Dog under Total Intravenous Anesthesia)

  • 9년령의 중성화 수컷, 6.9kg의 케피니즈견이1주일간 지속된 호흡곤란, 침울, 황색 구토와 복부 팽만을 주증으로 내원하였다. 치료에 반응을 보이지 않는 폐야의 밀도 항진은 CT 촬영에서 우폐중엽의 허탈을 동반한 우폐전엽의 염전으로 진단되었다. 진단으로부터 4일째, 프로포폴과 레미펜타닐을 이용한 전정맥 마취하에 우4늑간 개흉술을 실시하였을 때 우폐중엽과 우폐전엽은 함께 시계방향으로 꼬여있었다. 자가 절단식 선형 복강경 스테플러(ENDOPATHETS-FLEX-45)를 우폐전엽과 우폐중엽의 폐문부에 적용하였고, 폐엽절제 후 복합증은 나타나지 않았다. 본 증례는 우폐전엽의 염전을 따라 연속적으로 우중엽의 염전이 진행된 경우로, 소동물에서 흔하지 않은 폐염전은 진단 후 즉각적 수술 처치가 필요함을 지시하며, 덧붙여 개에서 폐엽 절제시 자가 절단식 스테플러의 적용과 전정맥 마취의 유용성을 나타낸다.

TPU 소재를 이용한 3D 프린팅 로봇 손의 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Controller Design of 3D Printed Robot Hand using TPU Material)

  • In this study, a rehabilitation 3D printed wearable device was developed by combining an assembly-type robot hand and an integral-type robot hand through fused deposition 3D printing manufacturing with various hardness TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) filaments. The hardware configuration of the robot hand includes a controller designed with four motors, one small servo motor, and a circuit board. In the case of the assembly-type robot hand model, a 3D printed robot hand was assembled using samples printed with TPU of hardness 87A and 95A. It was observed that TPU with a hardness of 95A was suitable for use due to shape stability. For the integrated-type robot hand model, the external sample using TPU of hardness 95A could be modified through a cutting method, and the hardware configuration is the same as the assembly-type. The system structure of the 3D printed robot hand was improved from an individual control method to a simultaneous transmission method.Furthermore, the system architecture of an integrated 3D printed robotic hand rehabilitation device and the application of the rehabilitation device were developed.
