  • Even though a rough diamond shape is irregular and rugged, it is easy to be processed to make gem, shaped facets (table, crown, pavilion and girdle) were precisely treated because they influence on the evaluation of diamond grading. Those specifications suitable for the standard round brilliant cut diamond polishing were investigated and in 95 % statistical confidence interval, standard deviation, mean and acceptable tolerance were examined. According to these variables (size, angle, depth, and thickness) distribution, the frequency analysis of ratings and proportions were compared with each other. The correlation between each variables and the evidence of influence represented in proportion were determined by the regression analysis applying LSM (Least Square Method). In this research, it was recognized that table sizes of the diamond jewels and pavilion depth (in %) influence the rating decision and in particular, the depth of pavilion acting as the main factor of proportions, also plays an important role in optical phenomena.

  • In order to improve the final product quality, tobacco industry has gradually decreased the size and number of steams in the cigarette. Especially, steams bigger than $3{\times}3$ mm($length{\times}thickness$) and $2{\times}10$ mm($width{\times}length$) are not acceptable in the process as objectionable stems. A total number of 12 samples where the $length{\times}tickness$ samples were prepared by decreasing the present sample ($3{\times}3$ mm) with 1 mm up to $1{\times}1$ mm, and the $width{\times}length$ samples were prepared by decreasing the present sample ($2{\times}10$ mm) with 2 mm up to $2{\times}6$ mm for the stems in leaf and stems in expanded cut-tobacco were prepared to apply a fire ball drop test using stems. In addition, cigarettes were produced for these stems in order to analyze the forced fire ball drop including the burning, encapsulation and unencapsulation pressure drop and a single or unspecified direction combustion. Based on the results of the test, it was evident that the fire ball drop in the stems in expanded cut-tobacco presented a lower level than that of the stems in leaf. Also, the stems in expanded cut-tobacco presented a larger swelling and higher burning for a single direction than that of the stem in leaf. In addition, it was considered that the management criteria for objectionable stems should be changed as $3{\times}3$ mm and $2{\times}8$ mm for the $length{\times}thickness$ and $width{\times}length$ sample, respectively, in both steams in leaf and expanded cut-tobacco.

  • The isolated ${\kappa}-Casein$ on gel permeation chromatography was hydrolyzed by chymosin, trypsin, and pepsin. The 3% TCA soluble portion of the hydrolysates were dialyzed on the angiotensin-I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibition rate (%,) and inhibitory activity $(IC_{50})$ were determined. The trypsin hydrolysate exhibited the highest ACE inhibition rate while the chymosin hydrolysation showed the lowest activity. The hydrolysate was dialyzed using dialysis membrane with various molecular cut-offs, and $IC_{50}$ was determined. As the pore size of the dialysis tubing increased, the ACE inhibitory activity decreased.

  • To eliminate foreign substance like metal rust and sand in natural gas pipeline, 250um strainer filter is used present in Korea Gas Corporation. But particles smaller than 250um passing the filter have bad effects to the valves and the measuring equipments. In order to eliminate small paticle in the pipeline, it is necessary to cut down the pore size of filter When we cut down the pore size of filter, the pressure difference between the front of filter and that of the rear part is increasing and disturb normal condition of gas supply. So it is very important to control the condition between the pore size of filter and the pressure difference. In this study, using head loss coefficient K, the estimation method of efficiency of gas filter according to the pore size and the pressure difference is presented.

  • A cyclone separator has been widely used in various industrial processes for removing fine particulate matter because it is easy to fabricate, cost effective, and adaptable to extremely harsh conditions. However, owing to the complex flow field in cyclones, a complete understanding of the detailed mechanisms of particulate removal has not yet been gained. In this study, a theoretical analysis was performed for calculating the collection efficiency and cut-off size in cyclones by taking into account the effects of geometrical and flow parameters. The collection efficiency and cut-off size values predicted by the theoretical model showed good agreement with experimental measurements for particles with a diameter of $0.5-30{\mu}m$. It was also revealed that the surface friction, along with the flow and geometrical parameters, has a significant effect on the cyclone performance.

  • This paper improves algorithms of Speculative Partial Redundancy Elimination(SPRE) proposed by Knoop et al. Improving SPRE algorithm performs the execution speed optimization based on the information of the execution frequency from profiling and the memory space optimization. The first purpose of presented algorithm is to reduce in space requirements and the second purpose is to de crease the execution time. Since too much weight on execution speed optimization may cause the explosion of the memory space, it is important to consider the size of memory. This fact can be a big advantage in the embedded system which concerns the required memory size more than the execution speed In this paper we implemented the min-cut algorithm, and this algorithm used the control flow graph is constructed with network and partitioned.

  • Spawn bottle cutting and spawn cake shredding machine has been developed to save the farm labor and operating cost for mushroom growing farmers. The prototype can cut the bottom and side of the bottle while shredding the spawn cake by one farmer. The cutting plastic shell is done by two couples of high speed disc saws that can cut cross section and lengthwise two side of the bottle, while spawn cake shredding is done by spike teethed rotating drum and wiremesh concave. The optimum speed of cutting disc saw was observed 1.700rpm both the cross cutting saw and lengthwise cutting saw in consideration of the cutting accuracy. And the location for the instalation of cross cutting disc saw was considered as around 4 mm above the table bottom , while the optimum clearance between two edges of lengthwise cutting disc saw was showed 86mm. For the sawdust spawn cake shredder , proper size of spawn sawdust granule was observed in the 15 x 15mm size withmesh concave with the shredding rum speed of 500rpm. The prototype can be reduce 73 per cent of working hours with the working cost reduction of 49 per cent compare with those of conventional operation.

  • A new approach has been adopted to remove the hot particulates from nuclear facilities, KAERI, South Korea, by using the new compact cyclone train, made of steel ness steel, with optional vortex finder length. Flow rate results showed a dramatic change in removal efficiency, performance was changed with the change of exit tube length. The 15 m/s flow rate was found suitable one for new equipment with the 49 mm optimum exit tube length for 76 mm cyclone body diameter. Results shows the removal efficiency for $1\;{\mu}m$ was more than $65\%$ and for $10\;{\mu}m$ was seen ${\~}97\%$. Over 15 m/s flow rate, was not shown much different in removal efficiency. The removal efficiency increased with the flow rate, and pressure drop. Cut size diameter decrease with the inlet flow rate. Cut size diameter found lowest with 49 mm exit tube length and 15 m/s flow rate. For filters the performance decreased with the inlet velocity increased.
