  • The literature reveals that service quality is critical determinants affecting customer satisfaction in the retail industry. Recent online B2C studies also show that service quality significantly influences online customer satisfaction. However, research on analyzing antecedents to determine the service quality level of online shopping has not been sufficiently reported. Moreover, the offline synergy effect on the Internet shopping mall has been presented mostly at a conceptual level. The purpose of this study is to investigate key managerial variables exploiting offline synergy, including pure online attributes, that impact on service quality of the click and mortar Internet shopping mall. A survey was conducted for empirical validation of the hypotheses. The results indicate that core offline synergy factors significantly enhance the perceived service quality level of the Internet shopping mall. Implications, limitations, and future research directions are also discussed.

  • This paper studied the problem of determining the optimal inventory level to meet the customer service target level in a situation where the customer demand for each branch of a nationwide retailer is uncertain. To this end, ISR (In-Stock Ratio) was defined as a key management indicator (KPI) that can be used from the perspective of a nationwide retailer such as Samsung, LG, or Apple that sells goods at branches nationwide. An optimization model was established to allow the retailer to minimize the total amount of inventory held at each branch while meeting the customer service target level defined as the average ISR. This paper proves that there is always an optimal solution in the model and expresses the optimal solution in a generalized form using the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker condition regardless of the shape of the probability distribution of customer demand. In addition, this paper studied the case where customer demand follows a specific probability distribution such as a normal distribution, and an expression representing the optimal inventory level for this case was derived.

  • Service quality is a competitive weapon in the banking industry. Better understanding of customer's perception of service quality in the banking industry and the drivers of such perceptions will be a sound basis for continuous improvement in the quality of service offered to customers, customer satisfaction and customer retention in the industry. An earlier study by the same authors (Ibrahim and Bokkasam, 2016) revealed that the six SERVQUAL determinants are significantly related to and explain about 84% of overall customer satisfaction. It was also observed that the female customers perceived higher level of positive perception towards SERVQUAL determinants. The present study carries out a micro-analysis of the influence of gender on the constituents of the service quality and customer satisfaction for all the six dimensions of the SERVQUAL: Access, Communication, Competence, Tangibility, Empathy and Reliability, in Saudi banking sector. The study also analyses gender-wise levels of satisfactions with regard to individual components constituting various factors of the constituents of SERVQUAL. It was observed that the male customers have significantly low levels of satisfactions with regard to promptness in solving conflicting issues and comfort during waiting time in the bank.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of service guarantees of tourist hotels on employees' perception of role clarity and customer orientation. Specifically, this study analyzed how the employees' perception of role clarity as a parameter, with the employees' reliability, guarantee-related communication, guarantee limitation, and organizational support as independent variables, affected the dependent variable, customer orientation. As a result of empirical analysis of employees in the first grade hotel in Seoul, it was analyzed that the higher the reliability of employees in service guarantee, the higher the communication and organizational support in the organization related to guarantee work, the higher the role clarity and perception level of employees. The higher the reliability, guarantee limitation and organizational support level of guarantee, the higher the customer orientation, but the guarantee-related communication did not show significant influence. The perception degree of role clarity of employees has a significant effect on customer orientation. According to those results of this analysis, this study examined the influence of each configuration of service guarantee of tourist hotel employees on customer orientation, and presented various academic and practical implications.

  • This qualitative study explores the impact of online food delivery platform attributes on customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions. Employing a phenomenological approach, we conducted in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 15 participants to gain rich insights into user experiences. Thematic analysis revealed key factors influencing satisfaction and loyalty: service quality dimensions (efficiency, reliability, fulfillment, privacy), expectation disconfirmation, perceived usefulness and ease of use, multi-level customer value, relationship quality, electronic word-of-mouth, value co-creation, and phased loyalty formation. Our findings extend customer behavior theory in digital platforms, offering a comprehensive framework for understanding the complex mechanisms underlying user satisfaction and repurchase decisions. The study provides valuable implications for platform operators, highlighting the importance of exceeding customer expectations, enhancing user experience, building trust, leveraging user-generated content, and fostering co-creation processes. Methodologically, we demonstrate the efficacy of qualitative approaches in uncovering nuanced insights in digital service contexts. While acknowledging limitations in generalizability, this research establishes a solid foundation for future investigations into the rapidly evolving domain of online food delivery services. The integrated theoretical approach offers a robust model for analyzing customer behavior in emerging digital service environments, contributing significantly to both academic understanding and practical application in the field of digital service provision and platform management.

  • This research analyzed and compared the public library satisfaction level between South Korea and USA public library user. This research looked at the public library user's nominal complains to the library from various countries and analyzed the impact variance of customer satisfaction level by using four key factors(faculty, facility, online service, books). The results were, first, overall customer satisfaction level of USA average(m=3.91) was higher then South Korea average(m=3.08) with a difference of m=0.83. Second, in the outcome of the survey conducted in South Korea, all four key factors were strongly related to customer satisfaction level, whereas the survey conducted in the USA, only two key factors showed relation to the customer satisfaction level which were facility and online service. Lastly, In the survey conducted in South Korea, out of the four key factors, Faculty(${\beta}$=.838) and online service(${\beta}$=.496) were the only two key factors that influenced the customer satisfaction level. In the survey conducted in the USA, Facility(${\beta}$=.441) and online service(${\beta}$=.471) were the two key factors that influenced customer satisfaction level. Therefore, South Korea should invest in increasing online service and educating faculty service as well as managing more intensively in software type field policies.

  • The purpose of this research is to evaluate the service quality measure and service quality level between one sample library and the other. Most typically, service quality is defined in terms of reducing the gap between customer expectations and the actual service provided. This research also focuses on gap reduction. Service quality concept was originally discussed in a commercial environment and may require some adaptation to the non-commercial environment of the academic library. A revised service quality measure that developed by P. J. Calvert and P. Hernon(1996) was used for this research. Results showed that service quality measure of this research was reliable(99 service quality items scale's Cronbach Alpha coefficient was 0.983) and was validated by correlation and factor analysis. Therefore service quality measure of this research will be applied positively for academic libraries. And this research showed that the service quality level of sample academic library was inferior to that of the others. The service quality of sample academic library should be improved to meet the customer's needs and expectations immediately.

  • As maintaining customer long term relationship is critical factor for improving to firm value as well as customer lifetime value, the academicians and practitioners have paid attention to customer defection. It is said that service failures are key factors to customer defection or customer switching(Keaveney 1995 etc.). This study examines that the effect on customer defection of service failures is differential according to the various customer-firms relationship characteristics. We consider relationship duration, usage level, decision making influence, industry knowledge and switching cost as customer-firm relationship characteristics based on marketing literature. Predictions are developed and tested using Internet service provider(ISP) user survey data(n=212). Results show that the customer-firms relationship characteristics/above variables) play a moderating roles in the service failures and customer defection links.
