Two-phases Hybrid Approaches and Partitioning Strategy to Solve Dynamic Commercial Fleet Management Problem Using Real-time Information (실시간 정보기반 동적 화물차량 운용문제의 2단계 하이브리드 해법과 Partitioning Strategy)

  • The growing demand for customer-responsive, made-to-order manufacturing is stimulating the need for improved dynamic decision-making processes in commercial fleet operations. Moreover, the rapid growth of electronic commerce through the internet is also requiring advanced and precise real-time operation of vehicle fleets. Accompanying these demand side developments/pressures, the growing availability of technologies such as AVL(Automatic Vehicle Location) systems and continuous two-way communication devices is driving developments on the supply side. These technologies enable the dispatcher to identify the current location of trucks and to communicate with drivers in real time affording the carrier fleet dispatcher the opportunity to dynamically respond to changes in demand, driver and vehicle availability, as well as traffic network conditions. This research investigates key aspects of real time dynamic routing and scheduling problems in fleet operation particularly in a truckload pickup-and-delivery problem under various settings, in which information of stochastic demands is revealed on a continuous basis, i.e., as the scheduled routes are executed. The most promising solution strategies for dealing with this real-time problem are analyzed and integrated. Furthermore, this research develops. analyzes, and implements hybrid algorithms for solving them, which combine fast local heuristic approach with an optimization-based approach. In addition, various partitioning algorithms being able to deal with large fleet of vehicles are developed based on 'divided & conquer' technique. Simulation experiments are developed and conducted to evaluate the performance of these algorithms.

  • For the purchase of a cheaper product on the Internet, many customers have been trying to search online shopping mall sites and visit comparison-pricing shops that compare prices and other criteria of the product. Others have been participating into online auction markets or group-buying markets. However, a lot of online shopping malls, auction markets, and group-buying markets provide the same product with different prices. Since these marketplaces have different price settlement mechanism, it is very difficult for the customers to determine marketplace to purchase, considering different kinds of marketplaces at the same time. To overcome such limitations, decision rules and solution procedures for purchase decision making are necessary, which can cover multiple marketplaces simultaneously. For this purpose, purchase decision making in each market must be conducted to maximize customer's utility, and conflicts with other marketplaces must be resolved. Therefore, we have developed the rules and methods that can negotiate cooperatively the purchase decision making in several marketplaces, and designed an architecture of Intelligent Buyer Agent and a message structure to support the idea.

The Effects of Nurses' Perceived Internal Marketing on Job Performance and Loyalty (간호사가 지각하는 병원 내부마케팅이 직무수행 및 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted from December 26, 2018 to January 4, 2019 in order to analyze the effects of hospital internal marketing on job performance and loyalty based on nurses' perception. The participants were 250 nurses at general hospitals located in Gyeonggi-do. The results of this study are as follows: First, internal marketing in hospitals had a statistically significant effect on organizational and future vision, education and training systems, communication, organizational attributes, and job performance (F=29.118, p<.001). The training system, organizational and future vision, compensation and welfare system, and work management environment were found to have a statistically significant effect (F=38.671, p <.001) on loyalty, and the effect of job performance on loyalty was statistically significant (F=87.324, p<.001). Second, the relationship between hospital internal marketing based on nurses' perception and loyalty was found to have a statistically significant positive (+) effect on stage 1 job performance (p<.001) and a statistically significant positive effect on stage 2 loyalty (+) (P <.001). The third-level internal marketing regression coefficient was significant, and job performance was also significant (P <.001). Based on these results, there is a need for hospital management to strengthen internal marketing in order to increase performance level and loyalty among nurses.

A Route-Splitting Approach to the Vehicle Routing Problem (차량경로문제의 경로분할모형에 관한 연구)

  • The vehicle routing problem (VRP) is to determine a set of feasible vehicle routes, one for each vehicle, such that each customer is visited exactly once and the total distance travelled by the vehicles is minimized. A feasible route is defined as a simple circuit including the depot such that the total demand of the customers in the route does not exceed the vehicle capacity. While there have been significant advances recently in exact solution methodology, the VRP is not a well solved problem. We find most approaches still relying on the branch and bound method. These approaches employ various methodologies to compute a lower bound on the optimal value. We introduce a new modelling approach, termed route-splitting, for the VRP that allows us to address problems whose size is beyond the current computational range of set-partitioning models. The route-splitting model splits each vehicle route into segments, and results in more tractable subproblems. Lifting much of the burden of solving combinatorially hard subproblems, the route-splitting approach puts more weight on the LP master problem, Recent breakthroughs in solving LP problems (Nemhauser, 1994) bode well for our approach. Lower bounds are computed on five symmetric VRPs with up to 199 customers, and eight asymmetric VRPs with up to 70 customers. while it is said that the exact methods developed for asymmetric instances have in general a poor performance when applied to symmetric ones (Toth and Vigo, 2002), the route splitting approach shows a competent performance of 93.5% on average in the symmetric VRPs. For the asymmetric ones, the approach comes up with lower bounds of 97.6% on average. The route-splitting model can deal with asymmetric cost matrices and non-identical vehicles. Given the ability of the route-splitting model to address a wider range of applications and its good performance on asymmetric instances, we find the model promising and valuable for further research.

  • Current performance evaluation of call center employees is dependent on the number of calls they have resolved, regardless of the individual and social characteristics of employees. However, since call center tasks are highly customer-oriented and emotional laborious, individual capability as well as social characteristics of employees is critical to performance. Therefore, this study analyzed the relationship between employees' individual/social characteristics and their performance. To extract individual characteristics, a repertory grid technique was employed, whereas social network analysis was conducted to extract the social characteristics of employees. Using individual and social characteristics as input variables, multiple regression was conducted to analyze the effect of each variable on performance. As a result, in-degree centrality of dining network, initiative characteristics, open characteristics, and enjoyment of studying were determined to be important variables for performance. This study is expected to be used in both performance management and human resource management of call center practices.

Dental health services patient satisfaction analysis (치과 내원환자의 의료서비스 만족도 분석)

  • This study evaluated dental health care providers to identify strategic management implications for providing improved dental health dental health care services to consumers. For this purpose, adental health care satisfaction survey was conducted on 1,156 patients (more than 20 years of age) at a dental clinic follow-up visit in a small-town dentist clinic Gyeongsangbuk-do province from August 1, 2013 to September 13, 2013. The dental health service value satisfaction in the gender and age (p<.05), monthly income (p<.001), dental health service quality satisfaction indentists according to gender (p<.05), education (p<.01), monthly income (p<.001), word-of-mouth effect of satisfaction job (p<.05), age and monthly income (p<.001) were investigated. Acorrelation was observed between the variables of the dental health services dental health services quality sub areas: certainty, reliability, and materiality. The interrelation between the dental health service showed the value of the variable(p<.000). The dental health services, routes elected, customer satisfaction with the dentist, reason for choosing a dentist, dental doctor reused and word-of-mouth effect of the satisfaction variable and the association with the volume(+) showed a correlation. The establishment new hospital management strategies can improve the quality of health care services to the patients and provide high-quality health care services.

A study on the O2O Commerce Business Process with Business Model Canvas

  • Purpose: The growth of online commerce is now becoming a major threat and a new opportunity for retailers. Existing offline retailers struggle to cope with new online retailers' threats by utilizing offline infrastructure. Besides, online retailers expand their online strengths to offline sales by opening their offline stores. Many retailers are paying close attention to the O2O business and the resulting changes. Thus, this research focuses on the O2O business model and process that retailers can adopt. Research design, data and methodology: Considering the features of products that retailers sell, this paper divides O2O business process with the following criteria: delivery lead-time and delivery area. And This research uses the business model canvas to define the features of O2O commerce business process. This paper also uses nine key elements in the business model canvas for analyzing the structure of O2O commerce business. Results: This paper suggests the delivery model of retailers respond to offline customer orders and summarizes the following results. (1) Considering characteristics such as logistics process, delivery area, and product type, we define the features of O2O business models: wide-area (warehouse) based O2O business model, regional area (store) based O2O business model and time-separated O2O business model. (2) This study checks the availability of the business model through the business cases of O2O business models. (3) This study also analyzes the O2O business model of domestic retail companies by the factors defined in the business model canvas. Conclusions: Retailers can adopt the O2O business process to fit their business requirements and strategy. The online retailers who deal with normal consumer products mainly have the wide-area based O2O business model. The wide-area based O2O business model can be suitable for retailers who manage inventory centrally. The time-separated O2O business model can be a good solution for fresh food retailers to operate the logistics process efficiently. And to shorten the delivery lead-time of fresh foods, the regional area based O2O business model can be fit to the retailer that utilizes its offline logistics or sales infrastructure. It may be much more important for retailers to share the inventory information with other branches and to change the role of offline stores.

Effects of Perceived Choice Attributes in Traditional Markets and Relationship Quality: Moderating Effects of Consumption Emotion and Consumer's Value (전통시장 선택 속성이 관계품질에 미치는 영향 : 소비감정의 조절효과와 소비자 가치의 매개효과)

  • Purpose - This study examines college students' perceived choice attributes in traditional markets and the relationship quality. We study the relationships between attributes that common people look for while choosing a store (e.g., product, service, advertising, and atmosphere), consumption emotion, consumer's value, and relationship quality. Research design, data, methodology - In order to verify the relationship between choice attributes and relationship quality, and moderating (i.e., consumption emotion) and mediating effects (i.e., customer value), we collected data from 202 consumers in Gyeonggi province to test the theoretical model and its hypotheses. For this purpose, this study, utilized an empirical methodology. Results - First, contrary to the previous research findings involving college students, this study observed that four factors of store choice attributes at a traditional market were important to consumers in heightening the relationship quality. Specifically, product (β = .608, p < .01), service (β = .351, p < .01), advertising (β = .237, p < .01), and atmosphere (β = .425, p < .01) are significantly related to relationship quality. Second, consumers selected product (β =. 521, p < .01) as the most important attribute. Atmosphere (β = .254, p < .01) and service division (β = .148, p < .05), in this order, are the other important factors in this regard. However, advertising (β = -.112, p = .100) is not statistically significant. To improve and develop the relationship quality with consumers, traditional markets should ensure supply of suitable products and goods, improve store atmosphere by modernizing facilities, and educate merchants to improve their services. Third, the results of the moderating effects, although marginally statistically significant, suggest that for the consumers with low consumption emotion for traditional markets, an affirmative experience of products and store atmosphere heightens their values. In addition, the consumers having low consumption emotion who could promote consumer values were found to improve and develop a marginally significant relationship quality. Finally, the study revealed that the consumer's value exhibited a complete mediation effect in the relationships between service and relationship quality, and advertising and relationship quality and a partial mediation effect in the relationships between product and relationship quality, and atmosphere and relationship quality. Conclusions - Consumer satisfaction is important to increase the competitiveness of traditional markets, and products and store atmosphere are important attributes to increase the relationship quality. Specifically, merchants should supply different products, modernize their facilities, and improve store atmosphere to compete in traditional markets. In addition, traditional markets should provide value and competitive prices to attract consumers, and should maximize the consumer's value and promote the consumption emotion. Traditional markets should evolve to accommodate changes in the consumer's value and invest in not only functional elements but also symbolic elements.

  • This study examines the effects of social commerce service quality and the service provider's physical environment on customer loyalty based on trust and satisfaction. Study results are as follows: First, correlation analysis results for social commerce service quality and social commerce trust find that informativity and interactivity exert statistically significant effects on social commerce trust. Second, service provider's physical environment and service provider satisfaction correlation analysis results demonstrate cleanliness, ambience, and interactivity exert statistically significant effects on service provider satisfaction. Lastly, the correlation between social commerce trust, service provider satisfaction, and social commerce loyalty, was statistically significant. Results of this study are expected to provide general understanding of group purchase decisions in social commerce and to provide value input in strategy development for social commerce with respect to group purchase and service provider.

The Influence of regional environment factor on Technology-based firms' Performance -Moderator effect of Innovation Intermediaries- (지역의 환경적 요인이 기술기반 창업기업 성과에 미치는 영향 -혁신거점기관의 조절효과를 중심으로-)

  • This study analyzed the role of innovation intermediaries on the performance of technology-based firms in Korea. Technology-based firms are important to the economy because they contribute to regional economic development and national competitiveness. In Korea, various types of intermediaries, such as Techno-parks and incubators have been established to foster technology-based firms. Researchers analyzed various factors influencing the performance of technology-based firms. On the other hand, there have been few studies on the relationship between the innovation intermediaries and the performance of technology-based firms in Korea. This study identified the firms' capabilities, institutional and environmental factors in the light of the literature. A total of 2,313 technology-based firms in Techno-parks, business incubator of public institutes and universities were surveyed. Of these, 110 respondents were used for empirical analysis. OLS techniques were applied to analyze the data. The empirical results showed that the marketing competence, R&D capacity, which is a firms' innovation capacity, have a positive effect on the performance. The support of intermediaries positively affects the performance of technology-based firms. The economic aspects of regional innovation infrastructure, and cooperation with the customer has a positive effect on the performance of technology-based firms.
