  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between medical service quality, emotional attachment, customer satisfaction, and customer behavioral intention of small and medium hospitals. Methods: 228 patients who have used small and medium hospitals' medical services were selected. The analysis methods used were confirmatory factor analysis, validation of discrimination, path analysis, and bootstrapping using SPSS 23 and AMOS 23. Results: As a result of the hypothesis test, reliability, responsiveness, and assurance were found to have a positive (+) influence on emotional attachment and customer satisfaction, while empathy had a positive (+) influence on emotional attachment only. Emotional attachment had a positive (+) influence on customer satisfaction and behavioral intention, and customer satisfaction had a positive (+) influence on behavioral intention. Conclusions: Medical service providers in small and medium hospitals should recognize that increasing customer satisfaction based on emotional attachment is a pathway to customer acquisition and, ultimately, a way to promote effective management.

A Study on the Quality Determinants in Management Consulting (경영컨설팅 서비스 품질 구성요인에 관한 연구)

  • This paper investigates the service quality determinants in management consulting. Quality dimensions in SERVQUAL research, as well as several dimensions specific to the consulting service, have been reviewed. A survey has been conducted by carefully developed questionnaires for the hypothesized eight quality dimensions. The results of the statistical analyses support the eight quality dimensions in the consulting service : reliability, assurance, responsiveness, empathy, ethics, participation, communication, and reputation. The results demonstrate that reliability, assurance, participation, and reputation are especially influential in determining customer satisfaction. The research results provide useful insights for a customer in assessing alternative service providers and foreseeing the outcome from the chosen consultants.

  • The main objective of this study was to test the impact of service quality dimensions on customer satisfaction. The conceptual model proposed in the study postulated that service quality impacts on customer satisfaction directly. The model also postulated that service quality has a positive relationship with customer satisfaction, and tested them through Multiple Regression to find their significance. Questionnaires were distributed to gather data. The SERVQUAL instrument has a useful diagnostic role to play in assessing and monitoring service quality in banks. The results of the study confirmed the five factors of service quality with customer satisfaction were significant in all factors of service quality. Reliability, Responsiveness, Empathy, Assurance, and Tangibles are significant determinants of customer satisfaction. Thus, service quality can be used to predict customer satisfaction. The research has shown a positive relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction. This research concluded that service quality is the basic and also most important factor that impacts customer satisfaction. This finding reinforces the need for banks managers to place an emphasis on the underlying dimensions of service quality, especially on Assurance, and should start with improving service quality in order to raise customer satisfaction.

A Study on the Determinants of Medical Institution's Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty: Focused on the Effects of Service Quality Factors

  • Objective: The objective of this study is to provide medical institutions with theoretical basis by analyzing the effect of service quality-related factors. It will be helpful for hospitals to enhance service quality which will be of use to attain customer satisfaction and ultimately competitive advantage. Design: An empirical study. Methods: To verify the model, I conducted a questionnaire survey analysis. Items for measurement have been extracted from several related studies on medical industry. The survey target has been set by convenience sampling method and consists of citizens reside in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province, and total number of 161 samples have been analyzed. To verify validity and reliability, I conducted factor analysis and reliability analysis, and for hypotheses verification, multiple regression analyses have been performed. Results: This study aims to investigate the relation between service quality factors and customer satisfaction, and also those factors and customer loyalty. Service quality factors consist of Tangibles(X1), Reliability(X2), Assurance(X3), Responsiveness(X4), and Empathy(X5). According to the results of regression analyses, X1, X2, X3, and X5 have been proved to have positive relations with customer satisfaction and loyalty, whereas hypothesis related X4 has not been supported. Finally, customer satisfaction has been founded to affects positively to customer loyalty. Conclusions: Service quality factors are significantly related to customer satisfaction and loyalty. So medical institutions should aware of this and try to enhance service quality for attaining competitive advantage.

Assessment of Main Management Components for Successful University Foodservice Operations By Using SERVQUAL Model (대학 급식소의 성공적인 운영을 위한 필수관리요소 평가 : 서브퀄모델을 활용한 서비스품질관리 활동 평가)

  • The purpose of this study were to assess main management components that can lead to successful university foodservice operations. Specifically, it was intended to develop the tool which assesses the service quality, management, to assess the difference between customer importance from and perceptions of service quality, to compare management perceptions of customer importances with actual service delivery, and to identify internal problems which affect service quality with the use of gap model. Three types of questionnaires were developed and implemented for customers, foodservice personals and foodservice manager. Assessment tools were developed based on the literature review, SERVQUAL, GAP model, and the pilot study. Through the validity and reliability test, the questionnaires were revised. Questionnaires were distributed to 900 university students, 207 foodservice personnels, and 54 foodservice manager respectively. 831 university students, 177 foodservice personnels, and 48 foodservice manager were responded with a response rate of 92.3%, 85.5%, and 88.8% respectively. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS programs for descriptive analysis, ANOVA. and SNK test. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. In quality service management components, 31 quality service attributes were categorized and named into primary quality, secondary quality, hygiene, empathy, tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, and price by the factor analysis. 2. Importance mean score of customers was 4.02 out of 5, but perception mean score of customers was 2.55. So there was a relative big gap(1.47) between importance and perception scores, especially in three dimensions of responsiveness, primary quality, and hygiene. 3. It showed that customers' mean scores of perceived service quality by dimensions were the following order : price > reliability > secondary quality > hygiene > tangibles > primary quality > responsiveness > empathy. And the perception mean score of rented(2.59) or contracted(2.58) management was significantly higher than that of self-operated(2.48). 4. Customers' importances mean score which internal customers recognize was 4.23 out of 5, but service delivery mean score was 3.85. So there was a little gap(0.39) between management perceptions of customer importances and actual service delivery. 5. In gap model, SERVQUAL score showed -1.47, Gap 1 positive 0.15, gap 2 negative 0.61, and gap 3 was positive 0.19. 6. The internal problems were as follows : (1) The managers of University foodservice perceived well enough the customers' expectation value but their management competency was lacked in terms of responding customer needs, (2) The foodservice staff perceived service performance more highly than service quality specifications.

  • This study based on dual aspects of service quality aims at classifying service quality attributes by Kano model and also providing the necessity to decide which service quality would be carried out preferentially in the service industries(hotel service, repair service, education service, medical service). The first purpose of this study, therefore, is assorting the service quality by the Kano model about four service industries based on Schmenner's service process matrix. Secondly, this has an intention of drawing preferred considerations and putting forward measures to increase the customer satisfaction by Timko and PCSI Index. The result of this study is as follows. First of all, it was found that tangible attributes classified the attractive quality and Timko's score also was very high in four service industry. That is to say that tangible attributes in service industries could be interpreted into having very high importance at standards on service quality estimation of customer. Second, all but repair service of the service industries suggested empathy dimension to have flexibility solving and understanding the customer's problem could be improve the customer satisfaction. Finally, the common result between them was empathy dimension classified attractive quality in all industries. That is because present satisfaction was not reached customer expectation so there would be a improvement of empathy dimension preferentially.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the influence of the service quality of the food court on customer satisfaction, revisit intention in a discount store. Among the 400 surveys, 371 participants were collected and 350 respondents were analyzed for the statistical analysis to verify research purposes. SPSS 21.0 program was used to derive the following: factor analysis, reliability analysis, simple regression, and multiple regression analysis. Results shown that, first, service quality at the discount store can affect the customer's satisfaction. The factors which can affect the customer's satisfaction are type, empathy and credibility but guarantee and reactivity don't affect it. Second, service quality at the discount store can affect a customer's revisiting. The factors which can affect the customer's revisiting are type, guarantee, empathy and credibility but reactivity doesn't affect it. Third, the customer's satisfaction at the discount store can affect the customer's revisit intention. Through this study, food court service quality can affect not only the customers' satisfaction but also consumers' revisit intention. Therefore, the company and the management need to keep researching and developing various menus, customer service training, and hygiene training in order to set the customer at ease along with making a comfortable mood and set up a dine out & meeting system.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of logistics service quality and relationship orientation factors on customer satisfaction and loyalty in the electronic commerce context. Based on extensive review of relevant literature, nine components of logistics service quality(i.e. information quality, ordering procedures, ordering release quantities, timeliness, order accuracy, order quality, order condition, order discrepancy handling and personnel contact quality) and six components of relationship orientation(i.e. trust, bonding, communication, shared value, empathy and reciprocity) are introduced in this study. And a conceptual model is developed and five research hypotheses are empirically examined using structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that logistics service quality and relationship orientation are positively and significantly associated with customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction is the antecedent variable of customer loyalty in the Internet Shopping Mall. In addition, a significant impact of logistics service quality on relationship orientation of the customer is revealed. Implications of these findings are discussed, and limitations of the study as well as further research directions are addressed.

The survey on the service quality and customer satisfaction has the follows; First, man group compared to female group provision was receiving the service of good quality and also the customer satisfactory degree appeared highly. Second, the customer satisfaction regarding a high educational background one recording service quality did not appear highly and not to be with the thing recording where the educational background will be high provision to receive a more many serviceit is satisfied it appeared. It follows, consequently in member of society nine statistics quality and service quality of civil expense and the customer satisfaction is a difference and the recording customer where the service quality of civil expense will be high it goes round satisfactorily and there is possibility of saying that. Third, in service quality empathy characteristic of subordinate result, with the fact that static effect it will be going mad to a shedding of corporeal service satisfaction and a security facility satisfaction. The security facility satisfaction where the empathy characteristic and shedding of corporeal service quality will be good is high reflects a fact and it is giving. Fourth, market segment anger strategy and there is a necessity which will form the customer layer which is various. Also, the site for the service of good quality the operation of development and strategy elder brother system of the elder brother system which it fixes is necessary.

The Effect of Servicescape on Customer Satisfaction and Participation Behavior in Water Sports Facility (수상스포츠 시설의 서비스스케이프가 고객만족 및 참여행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to provide basic data on the operation plan by investigating how the servicescape of domestic water sports facilities affects customer satisfaction and participation behavior. Therefore, participants in their 20s or older were selected as samples among those who experienced water sports facilities. The survey was conducted non-face-to-face from April 25 to July 15, 2022, and a total of 243 copies of data were used for the final analysis. For data processing, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, item consistency, correlation analysis, simple and multiple regression analysis were performed using the SPSS (ver. 21.0) program. As a result of this study, first, it was found that the water sports facility servicescape affects the value in the order of convenience, empathy, and facility environment. Second, it was found that customer satisfaction at water sports facilities had an effect on participation behavior. Third, it was found that the water sports facility servicescape affects participation behavior in the order of facility environment, service, convenience, and empathy.
