Assessing the Effects of Multi-Channel Service Quality on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty in Retail Banking (은행서비스의 다채널 별 서비스 품질 평가가 고객 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Service channel environments have changed dramatically with the advent of new, online digital channels. This article studies the effects of perceived multi-channel service quality on customer satisfaction and loyalty in the banking industry and the moderating role of age, which is a characteristic of customers. The objective is to identify the quality factors that affect the overall satisfaction and loyalty of a multi-channel customer. A quantitative study was conducted on 900 customers, with the main targets being users of the nine primary Korean retail banks. Results show that perceived service quality of the physical environment, human service, Internet banking, mobile banking, and ATM has a positive influence on overall satisfaction and loyalty. Age moderates the relationship among physical environment quality, human service, and customer loyalty.

  • As the radical advances of digitalization, our daily life have been fundamentally changed. As a result, the customer journey also changed as compared with previous periods. This study analyzed customer journy of digital age. First, historical trends and issues of customer journey research were analyzed. Second, Comparative analysis of customer journey of digital and previous age were conducted. No more funnel model of customer journey which assumed hierarchical and linear paths was valid. Customer journey of digital age will be non-linear and circular paths.

Impact of Societal Participation on Customer Satisfaction: Economic-Environmental Analysis from Saudi Banks

  • This study aimed to measure the impact of societal participation of Saudi banks on customer satisfaction and determine the statistical differences in customer satisfaction according to sex, age, income, education, and work type. Societal participation has economic and environmental dimensions. The study population includes all Saudis in the government, military, and private sectors reaching 3.58 million in 2021. The unit of analysis is Saudi customers of commercial banks. The 12 banks have societal programs. The research tool is a "Questionnaire," It is distributed face-to-face at places of work. The study concludes that economic participation has no impact on customer satisfaction; however, the impact of environmental participation on customer satisfaction is proved. The study shows no statistical differences in customer satisfaction according to mediators (sex, age, income, education, and work type). Despite the environmental participation being the tangible product by Saudi banks in the local market, the study concludes the positive relationship between societal participation and customer satisfaction. The study presents a set of recommendations for enhancing societal participation in the Saudi businesses environment.

Influence of Determinants of Smartphone Purchasing on Customer Satisfaction : Moderating Effects of Age and Gender (스마트폰 구매결정 요인이 고객만족에 미치는 영향 : 연령과 성별 조절 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of determinants of Smartphone purchasing such as A/S, brand, H/W, switching cost, design on customer satisfaction and verify the accordance of the results of existing researches and our research with customers' actual experience. The study also sought to confirm if moderating effects exist between determinants of Smartphone purchasing and customer satisfaction by age, gender. Data for this study was gathered by analyzing the results of a survey we conducted on 252 respondents. By taking into account the results of antecedent researches, we determined A/S, brand, H/W, switching cost, design as the 5 main factors that influence Smartphone purchasing behavior. We focused on analyzing the effect determinants of Smartphone purchasing has on consumer satisfaction and whether there exist any moderating effects between the determinants of Smartphone purchasing and consumer satisfaction by age and gender. As a result, we found out that design, brand, H/W had a significant influence on consumer satisfaction in the descending order. Switching cost and A/S turned out to have very little influence on consumer satisfaction. Also as a result of analyzing the moderating effects between determinants of Smartphone purchasing and consumer satisfaction by age and gender, the study verified that that A/S had the most significant influence as a moderating effect on age. And as for gender, switching cost was turned out to have a significant influence. The result of this study indicates several academic and practical implications for customer satisfaction of Smartphone business. Therefore, this result is expected to contribute to verifying influential factors of customer satisfaction improvement both academically and practically.

Customer Satisfaction at Tiki.vn E-Commerce Platform

  • This study has four objectives: (1) Identifying factors that affect customer satisfaction on online service quality of Tiki.vn, (2) Measuring the level of impact of the factors, (3) Testing the difference in satisfaction among groups of customers with different characteristics in terms of gender, age, income, academic level, and occupation, and (4) Proposing some managerial implications to improve the quality of online services by interviewing directly and online 200 individual customers who have shopped at Tiki.vn E-commerce platform for at least the last six months, using the convenient sampling method. This study analyzes the reliability of the scale through the Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Exploratory factor analysis, and Linear regression analysis. The findings identified four factors that influence positively customer satisfaction regarding the quality of online services in Tiki.vn E-commerce platform in the order of descending strength: (1) Trust, (2) Customer service, (3) Web design and (4) Safety. In addition, the results show no difference in customer satisfaction according to different academic levels, but in terms of occupation and income, gender, and age. The results show that the factors influencing most customer satisfaction are Reliability and Customer Service. Some managerial implications are then proposed to improve the quality of online shopping services at Tiki.vn.

The Effect of Customer-to-Customer Interactions on the Preference of Fashion Purchase Environment

  • This study identifies the effect of customer-to-customer interactions on the preference of fashion purchase environment. An empirical study surveyed male and female consumers 25 years of age and older in Daegu, Korea, in August 2011. A total of 338 responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square analysis of SPSS 19.0. The results identified the effects of the number, gender, age, attractiveness, and taste of other customers in fashion retail settings. In addition, differences in the effect of customer-to-customer interactions according to consumer attributes were also verified. The sample of this study preferred a shopping condition of many shoppers in the store, the same gender shoppers in the store, the same aged shoppers in the store, an attractive shopper in the store, and a shopper having the same taste in the store. Female consumers showed a preference for a store environment with many shoppers and the same gender shoppers to a store of no shoppers and different gender shoppers compared to male consumers. Aged consumers and fashion-involved consumers liked to shop with more attractive persons than less attractive persons. Fashion-innovative consumers wanted to enter a store where the other customers have similar tastes.

Impacts of Corporate Social and Philanthropy Communications on Customer Loyalty: New Evidence from Saudi Banking Market

  • The study aimed to determine the impact of societal participation on the customer loyalty of Saudi banks and identify the statistical differences in customer loyalty according to sex, age, education level, and occupation type. The independent variable is corporate societal participation, and the dependent represents customer loyalty. Corporate societal programs have two dimensions: social participation and philanthropic participation. The research population consists of Saudi workers in three sectors: government, military, and private reached 3.58 million people in 2021. The unit of analysis is the Saudi employee in one formal industry and dealing with the Saudi banks that offered corporate societal participation programs. The research used the appropriate stratified sampling method, and the recommended sample size reached 387 respondents. A fully structured questionnaire is used. The study concluded that corporate social programs have not impacted customer loyalty, while corporate philanthropy programs strongly affected customer loyalty. On the other hand, there are no differences in customer loyalty according to demographics (sex, age, education, and occupation type). Finally, the study presents a set of recommendations in the field of corporate social responsibility and develops the local communities.

  • Digital signage in airport is used to provide the flight and airport information to the airport passenger. However, the current digital signage displays one type of contents to all of the airport customers without considering the type of the customer. Thus, the digital signage suffer from the inefficiency problem resulting in lower customer satisfaction. This problem can be solved if we adopt a smart digital signage which can recognize the type of the customer and provide the tailored contents. In this study, we report a smart digital signage using age recognition. Our smart digital signage can recognize the age of the customer in real-time, and provide the tailored contents to the customer. The smart digital signage can improve the airport customer satisfaction and the airport work efficiency by providing the information that is needed by the airport customers.

The Relationships among the Service Education Satisfaction, Service Involvement, and Customer Orientation of Hospital Employees (의료기관 종사자의 고객접점 (MOT)서비스교육만족도, 고객지향성 및 서비스몰입 간의 관계)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the relationships among the service education satisfaction, service involvement, and customer orientation of hospital employees after yearly-planned MOT service education. Methods: The data collection was done through the questionnaire survey in a university hospital located in D city from March 15 to 31, 2010. The statistical analysis was done by SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: The enrolled employees were two hundred and seventy six. Among the characteristics of employees, adequate work load, good payment, reasonable promotion system, suitability of work aptitude and good relationships with staff improved the service education satisfaction, customer orientation, and service involvement of hospital employees. For the customer orientation, old age and lower educational background were positive factors. The correlations among the service education satisfaction, customer orientation, and service involvement of hospital employees were significant. The factors that affect customer orientation and service involvement were found to be age, suitability of work aptitude and service education satisfaction. Conclusion: In conclusion, customer orientation and service involvement were related with the satisfaction of employees for working condition and service education. In terms of good medical service quality, plans for maintaining adequate working environment and systematic service education should be established.

Customer's Response to CRM of Fashion Business (패션 기업의 CRM에 대한 고객 반응 연구)

  • This study was intended to identify customer's response to CRM of fashion business.488 questionnaires were distributed to male and female respondents aged 16 to 55, and then analyzed by descriptive statistics, oneway-ANOVA, chi-square test, and factor analysis. As a result of customer information management, respondents evaluated taste, interest and demographic informations as most valuable. But they did not value personal and credit information. For CRM concept, 4 factors were determined: continuous care and suggestion, particular service to important customer, customer management program development, and customer convenience consideration. For CRM activity, 3 factors were determined: customization, information offering, and programmed service strategies. Respondents were having positive attitude toward CRM concept and activity of fashion business. Among customer loyalty programs, they affected by immediate and direct programs most. The preference of customer contact methods was differentiated by sex and age groups. Males and teenagers preferred e-mail, and females preferred catalog and telephone connection.
