Designing a Digital Reconstruction of Koguryo Mural using Virtual Reality Technology for Interactive Cultural Heritage Learning (상호작용적인 문화 교육을 위해 가상현실을 이용한 고구려 벽화 복원 연구)

  • Digital Koguryo is a virtual reality reconstruction of the Koguryo mural tumulus, Anak No. 3, designed for an interactive educational gaming and learning environment. Digital Koguryo aims at not only developing a digital reconstruction of cultural heritage but also helping young students learn the living style and the custom of Koguryo Kingdom while playing the game environment. This paper describes the digital restoration process of Koguryo mural paintings and 3D structure, as well as the construction of educational virtual environment designed to get more user's interests. It then discusses a few design issues learned from the development and the public demonstration. Finally, it will present the future research directions to improve the users' immersion.

  • Modernity which is superficial phenomenon set off the mass scale for mass consumption and provide uniformly artificial environment. But natural destruction, environment pollution, resources exhaustion and so on has been caused by this and now ecology is threatened by destruction and damage beyond the limitation and human beings survival is even threatened. Accordingly furniture development for environment preservation considered environment problem is the urgent real situation. Recent paradigm is the concept of Eco-design which is the green design possible to live together in symbiosis, and new types of alternative furniture are needed in Korea as well. 'Furniture for disassembly' is presented as new method for alternative furniture. Furniture for disassembly can be presented by mainly two directions. The first main characteristic is what is assembled by the use of woodworking joints technique as an assembly structure system without any hardware. The second is what is presented as the structure possible to be assembled by simple manual tools with hardware without any glue. The advantages of furniture for disassembly are environment preservation, space application, transportation efficiency and shapeliness. In manufacture method which is different from present furniture, the application of traditional truss technique which uses various types of custom-made and connection technique in case of assemble structure system without hardware is the typical differences. This assembly method expects not only interest induction about assembly and disassembly of diagram per sub materials but also the development of emotion, the improvement of collaboration, space perception ability and shape sense, the improvement of solid body structure insight and so on, when it use in the furniture for children with the application to many kinds of structure with BANGDOOSANJ (Wedged), JUMUGJANGBU (Dovetail) or NABIEUNJANG (Dovetail Keys) and so on.

  • The currently and most widely used client/server architecture is composed of database servers and clients that include both application and presentation logic. To date, due to the rapid growth in WWW, these client/server applications are implemented using Java language, especially in GUI design at client sides and client/server applications development using JDBC. To develop the applications using JDBC, developers should design database schema, code source code for JDBC connection, design report forms to display selected columns from server-side database. In this paper, we propose a development environment based on JavaBeans component for client/server applications development using JDBC. The proposed environment minimizes manual coding and enables developers to develop client/server applications easily with the designed JavaBeans components and their custom property editor.

  • Local resources can be employed as an original resource for local revitalization. This study has investigated the local resource, and then categorized these to suggest the implication available to the industrialization. Local resources were classified into 5 categories(with 25 subcategories), including remains and ruins, ethnic custom, manners and customs, people, traditional food and the principal product, and the natural ecology environment. Three phases were carried out in this study. We made lists of local resources and analyzed applicable resources among the lists. Also, we selected the target resources for the survey in Gimpo, and also analyzed the application for industrialization. Of all these resources, 560 cases were first investigated, then 51 local resources were in-depth analyzed. Based on this result, the application plan was investigated, dividing the central resources and the connection resources.

  • Information technologies have been wide spread in the public sector, especially government administrative of office. Most of the Korean internal government, IT influence focused on the hardware and input system, not so fast realized, and don't have fundamental development less of business dimension. And now, the electronic document implementation efficiently satisfies the government's process and management through the reduction of manned working steps. This study suggested the elimination of old ragged custom based on paper document. inner basis environment composing for the using of electronic document and the introduce of digitized network tele-working system etc, for the highly execution of future digital management system.

Low-Power IoT Microcontroller Code Memory Interface using Binary Code Inversion Technique Based on Hot-Spot Access Region Detection (핫스팟 접근영역 인식에 기반한 바이너리 코드 역전 기법을 사용한 저전력 IoT MCU 코드 메모리 인터페이스 구조 연구)

  • Microcontrollers (MCUs) for endpoint smart sensor devices of internet-of-thing (IoT) are being implemented as system-on-chip (SoC) with on-chip instruction flash memory, in which user firmware is embedded. MCUs directly fetch binary code-based instructions through bit-line sense amplifier (S/A) integrated with on-chip flash memory. The S/A compares bit cell current with reference current to identify which data are programmed. The S/A in reading '0' (erased) cell data consumes a large sink current, which is greater than off-current for '1' (programmed) cell data. The main motivation of our approach is to reduce the number of accesses of erased cells by binary code level transformation. This paper proposes a built-in write/read path architecture using binary code inversion method based on hot-spot region detection of instruction code access to reduce sensing current in S/A. From the profiling result of instruction access patterns, hot-spot region of an original compiled binary code is conditionally inverted with the proposed bit-inversion techniques. The de-inversion hardware only consumes small logic current instead of analog sink current in S/A and it is integrated with the conventional S/A to restore original binary instructions. The proposed techniques are applied to the fully-custom designed MCU with ARM Cortex-M0$^{TM}$ using 0.18um Magnachip Flash-embedded CMOS process and the benefits in terms of power consumption reduction are evaluated for Dhrystone$^{TM}$ benchmark. The profiling environment of instruction code executions is implemented by extending commercial ARM KEIL$^{TM}$ MDK (MCU Development Kit) with our custom-designed access analyzer.

The Change of Market Environment toward B-to-B E-Commerce and Groping Ways out of the Difficulties of Companies (기업간 전자상거래로의 시장환경 변화와 기업의 활로 모색)

  • The world is now meeting the era of e-commerce by development of information technology and the fast increase of use of internet. So, Korean government prepared "the colligation plan for electronic commerce activating" and WTO decides to prolong no custom on e-commerce till November 2001 when the fourth WTO Ministerial Conference holds a meeting. OECD discussed the construction of intellectual property rights of the global dimension at the Global Forum on January 2001 and reached to research the social influence of B-to-B e-commerce and to pursue the acceleration of e-commerce. UNCITRAL(United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) enacted UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce in order to activate e-commerce, and Bolero.net serves electronic Bill of Lading to facilitate cyber trading. The purpose of this paper is to present the direction of confrontation to the these internal and external changes of business environment to Korean enterprises. Off-line enterprises should move fast to e-commerce on the condition that the existing trading at the original markets runs parallel with e-commerce. n needed, off-line enterprises should consider M&A with existing on-line firms. Also, off-line firms make use of Bolero system so that they can carry through paperless trade which means the achievement of efficiency in trading, On-line enterprises should advertise in the form of banner by combination of push and pull styles. B-to-B e-commerce firms should not depend on only the commissions, but they should create characteristic earnings by their peculiar services.

  • As e-commerce and social media service evolves, studies on recommender systems advance, especially concerning the application of collective intelligence to personalized custom service. With the development of smartphones and mobile environment, studies on customized service are accelerated despite physical limitations of mobile devices. A typical example is combined with location-based services. In this study, we propose a recommender system using movie genre similarity and preferred genres. A profile of movie genre similarity is generated and designed to provide related service in mobile experimental environment before prototyping and testing with data from MovieLens.

A Study on Design Development of Environment-friendly Mobile Home Sauna (친환경 모바일 홈 사우나 디자인 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The appeal of sauna is caused by the fact that through that, one can feel Korea's unique temperament and culture; however, because of its being a public facility and flooding of businesses due to excessive supplies of various additional features such as washing, playing, eating, sleeping and health care functions, issues of social resources and environment come to the fore, so it has reached a situation of red ocean that it is difficult to enter the market anymore. Taking these into account, this study focused on developing a thermal technology and design of the housing of an environment-friendly mobile home sauna, making the most use of the sauna's fundamental purpose and settling it as a tourist product, analyzing the marketing research on the existing sauna and considering the recent housing trends and lifestyles for a new concept sauna. Thus, regarding its characteristics and utilization, it was designed smaller than $10m^2$ (3 pyeong) so that it would be easy to install in any space and convenient to move. It can be installed in separate buildings and rest spaces such as country houses, resorts, pensions, camping grounds as well as outdoor houses, custom produced for a measure of pyeong that customers want so as to match up with the Enforcement Ordinance of the Agricultural Land Act in a concept of the farmer's hut and kitchen, bathroom and bathroom can be installed inside according to an option. In addition, regarding its efficacy, in order to give environment-friendly healing effects, materials such as Hinoki Cypress, red clay and hardwood charcoal were used, a fixed indoor temperature of $70{\sim}100^{\circ}C$ was maintained by heating methods such as electromagnetic wave free, energy saving and low-power boiler, and it was made to have excellent effects on fatigue recovery, relieving stress, skin care and diet through far-infrared emission.

  • In this paper, we research on the personal information protection system in smart-phone based on mobile environment. This paper proposes the enhanced personal location privacy mechanism in location-based service environment of a smart phone operating system(iOS, Android) for the relevant regulations on location-based protection and utilization. Also, the result verified that possibility on a self-control mechanism of the personal information protection system's subject in the window platform throughout the experiment. Therefore, this study have drew a method that user positively can cope with a protection of personal location information by having a user's self-control method in the system under development or done by illegal location-based service providers and illegal application developer.
