  • The purposes of this study were to investigate perspective teachers' conceptions of liquid-state and get implications for the direction of science curriculum or professional development. The instrument was composed of seven questions focusing on aspects of liquid-state phenomena. The results showed that the participants have various alternative concepts about liquid-state. The problem revealed in almost every question was their macroscopic explanations for the phenomena. In addition, it appeared that the participants seemed to understand phenomena in terminology level, but they didn't know basic reasons or fundamental concepts about the phenomena. It is required to change the curriculum or instructional methods in secondary school and teacher education programs to anchor the scientific concepts on molecular or microscopic level.

  • Accompanied with ongoing calls for reform in statistics curriculum, mathematics and statistics teachers purposefully have been reconsidering the curriculum and the content taught in statistics classes. Changes made are centered around statistical inference since teachers recognize that students struggle with understanding the ideas and concepts used in statistical reasoning. Despite the efforts to change the curriculum, studies are sparse on the topic of characterizing student learning and understanding of statistical inference. Moreover, there are no tools to evaluate students' statistical reasoning in a coherent way. In response to the need for a research instrument, in a series of research study, the researcher developed a reliable and valid measure to assess students' inferential reasoning in statistics (IRS). This paper describes processes of test blueprint development that has been conducted from review of the literature and expert reviews.

  • This study aims to establish new architectural agenda for the existing middle school facilities responding to individualized interactive learning approach(IILA). First, it investigates the mechanism of new teaching methods and contents proposed in the national level curriculum and the province guidances. Secondly, it suggests the Quality and Quantity of new (multi-purpose) classrooms that should be built for operating new curriculum in the existing middle schools. Finally, it finally emphasizes the educational specification that should be prepared prior to planning school buildings.

  • Problem solving in math education is of great importance. The interest on problem solving in math education is growing all over the world. Problem solving ability is important throughout the fourth-sixth national curriculum in Korea and this is also necessary in the seventh national curriculum. The writer has implemented a proper model for problem posing and this is also necessary in the seventh national curriculum that emphasizes self-leading for improvement in the classroom. This model has advantages to cultivate a good habit of students who tries to solve the problems with concrete strategies, to take part in the problem solving activity and to change their mathematical attitude.

  • In interior design and architecture area, educational system has changed since 2001 from two-year program to three-year. At present related courses are established in about 68 colleges. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the advantages of the three-year over the two-year design program, analyzing the changes in curriculum. In the study, curricula from the selected 16 colleges were collected and analyzed using the following research method. The courses were classified into 10 sectors - based on previous studies. The results are as follows. In the three-year program, the available number of courses generally increased. Of the ten sectors, there was marked growth in the 'design' and 'technique or technology' sectors after the program change. In addition, the 'primary', 'theory' and 'digital design' sectors were reinforced to represent the latest changes in the design process and presentation method.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the recent trends of the development of the English textbooks in EFL situation. The 7th National English Curriculum(NEC) in 2001 which emphasized the curriculum-centered school education have had much influence on the traditional textbook-centered school education in Korea. According to the paradigmatic change of school education, the contents of the English textbooks were changed into the new types of students-centered classroom activities. For students' communicative activities, the English textbooks were developed by two types of syllabuses: process-oriented syllabus and product-oriented syllabus. The 7th NEC includes procedural syllabus and task-based syllabus as well as grammatical- structural syllabus and notional-functional syllabus. In short, unlike the English textbooks in former curriculums, learners' classroom activities and tasks have been emphasized in those to foster their communicative competence.

  • To learn number system is a basic thing in school mathematics. In this paper, we analyze how number system is introduced in the 7th national curriculum and text books according to it. We found that the method of introducing number system is quite different from the former curriculum and former text books. There are many negative effects on the transition when compared with those of United States of America. There are many gaps between elementary school mathematics and middle school mathematics about levels and skills to deal with numbers. It is desirable to distinguish the negative sign from subtraction and to keep the concepts of commutativity and associativity of operations from the beginning. We also suggest to change the introducing timing and extension methods of number system in 7th grade mathematics.

  • Objectives : The each college of Korean medicine in Korea adopts diverse textbooks for the medical history class, resulting in educational contents variations. This proposal aimed for the standardization of educational contents. Methods : The transition of medical history curriculum will be attempted based on the understanding of paradigm change in modern education. The first step is investigation on the course credit and curriculum grade of medical history class presented in education status reports of all Korean medicine schools. The next step is study on the various methods about changes of medical history education base on the learning objectives of colleges of Korean medicine. Results : The researchers of medical history should make an agreement on modification of learning objectives of the curriculum, and then educational standardization must be achieved by publishing a medical history textbook in accordance with the modified learning objectives. Conclusions : The researchers of medical history must collaborate to standardize medical history education by developing and applying internet-based flipped learning model.

  • Due to the effects of COVID-19 and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, construction engineering education has been required to change. As part of efforts to respond to changes, innovative teaching methods such as team-based learning have been introduced, but specific measures are still lacking. In this regard, this study proposed plans for building construction curriculum operation applied with team-based learning, building construction course operation applied with team-based learning, and building construction course grade evaluation applied with team-based learning. It is expected that the proposed operation plans can be used in educational settings where team-based learning is to be applied in a changing class environment.

  • Health systems science is a new medical educational field added to the traditional medical education curricula of basic and clinical sciences. Health systems science emphasizes a more comprehensive approach utilizing systems thinking to care for patients, including interactions between multiple healthcare systems. In this review, I explore how health systems science education can be applied when medical instructors teach students in clinical clerkships through representative case studies. This study first looks at examples of health systems science education in clinical clerkship in the United States and suggests how to develop the curriculum of health systems science for clinical learning environments in Korea by combining Kotter's 8-step change management model and Kern's 6-step curriculum development model. Finally, based on practical examples from actual clinical practice education situations, suggestions are made regarding how to develop the entire educational program of a medical school from the stage of applying health systems science at the individual level to clinical practice education.
