This paper gives reviews on current research status in telecommunication network design. Two problems are identified as major research issues. One is the WDM network design problem, where traffic grooming, virtual topology design and routing and wavelength assignment problems are considered. The other is the OSPF weight setting problem which was proposed as a practical method to implement traffic engineering capability in IP networks. After presenting surveys on those problems, we discuss potential challenging research issues in telecommunication network design.

The study aims to identify the current status of aquaculture information in Korea and suggests policy directions for its integrated management. Firstly, the study focuses on the identification of the current status of aquaculture information by reviewing how aquaculture information is managed. Secondly, this study identifies problems such as lacks in necessary aquaculture information, inefficiency caused by dispersion and overlapping of information, absence of integrated management system and insufficient sharing of information. After identifying the current status of aquaculture information and its problems, the study suggests three basic directions to systematically integrate and manage the information such as establishment of infrastructure for promoting the integrated management of aquaculture information, generation and systematic management of useful aquaculture information and enhancement of user convenience. Finally, the study suggests detailed strategies such as establishment of a foundation to facilitate integrated management of aquaculture information, organization of organic network, sharing of more information, creation of necessary information through demand survey, creation of systematic management system, provision of a customized total service, and increase in education and PR activities on information use.

FMS has received a great deal of attention in the past two decades as a possible breakthrough for the new technologies in manufacturing. Some people say that the era of FMS has just begun. We have seen the potential benefits of FMS to the manufacturing industries. But it seems that FMS has generated a large number of problems to solve. The objective of this paper is to provide a groundwork for researches in the area of FMS by discussing the current status and prospect. The current status of installations and operations of FMS worldwide is reviewed. U.S.A., Japan, Western Europe, U.S.S.R. and Eastern Europe, and domestic status are discussed briefly. The current status of researches that are related to the FMS is also reviewed. Lastly, the prospect of hardware and software is discussed.

Increasing the old and the senile disability, it is increased that the demand of barrier-free house for the disabled, the senior, the pregnant and the young is strongly increasing recently. In this reason, this study focuses the problems of the house which is used by the Blind through the investigation of current status and tries to find out the differences between disability's demand and current design of their house. As well, through the research and analysis some cases of the residential alterations this study verifies what the demand is on each room and their need is committed correctly during the residential alterations. It is the purposes of this study finding the problems through these research and analysis. Thus this study investigates houses of the Blind and finds out their house type, scale and daily life through the statistical data and documentary survey and also, investigates current status of their house. The basic standard for the current status and the demand analysis is researched by the barrier factors which are deducted from the former study.

This research examines, based on nursing's point of view, the current status and problems of the healthcare-related multi-cultural policy which is one of the major issues of contemporary Korea. Today, Korean society is facing a drastic increase of migrant workers and marriage for migration in Korea that leads to the transition to multiculturalism. Each field of society is providing prevalent supports to solve the problems of multicultural families and to promote adoption to Korean society. The activities and researches for multicultural families in nursing area were found and analyzed. 11 researches and 2 books were published. Among these 13 publications, 10 were on the marriage with immigrant women. 8 researches out of 11 (72.7%) were defined as the descriptive surveys, and 3 researches (27.3%) were defined as quasi-experimental studies. Although Korea Nurses Association (KNA) led various activities, more researches and activities by nurses and nursing scholars are required to contribute in improving the health of multicultural families.

Current trends in the Korean construction industry, including the aging of the workforce, a lack of new Korean construction workers, and an inflow of unskilled foreign labor, have caused a range of problems, including quality deterioration, reduced productivity, insufficient understanding of the function and difficulties in communication, to name a few. Yet while countermeasures to these problems should be based on accurate and diverse fundamental data, including the current status of demand and supply of domestic and foreign construction workers, the perception of construction workers, studies on these questions have, thus far, been scarce. For these reasons, this study was conducted using a questionnaire for managers and workers on construction sites, to secure fundamental data relating to construction workers. The findings of the survey showed that it is urgent to prepare measures to educate, train and foster human resources, considering the aging of the construction workforce and the lack of an inflow of new construction workers.

The purpose of this paper is to study the current status of Y2K settlement in korean business firms. To accomplish the purpose of this paper effectively, first of all, theoretical background of Y2K was reviewed briefly. Second, research hypotheses and methodology were discussed with the following topics: (1) research hypotheses (2) operational definitions of variables (3) survey population (4) data collection method (5) data analysis method. Third, current status and problems of Y2K problems were investigated in detail with the following areas: (1) characteristics of samples (2) comparisons of Y2K settlement by business area (3) comparisons of Y2K settlement by firm sizes (4) comparisons of Y2K settlement by degree of information systems (5) effective ways of settling Y2K problems Finally, this paper was summarized and future research directions were suggested briefly.
