Our overall society circulates in line with the economical situations characterized by production and consumption and companies play the role of providing products and services, thus taking very significant responsibilities for the socioeconomical and cultural aspects in society. Therefore, when designers attempt to think of a way to enable companies and society to share their values and propose specific concepts and visualize outcomes, it is very critical to be able to understand economical philosophy and management strategies that interconnect companies with society and seek out proper design approaches. Recently, the world's enterprise and management culture tend to connect products and services provided by companies through chains of social values. Based on the abovementioned shift in the management paradigm, the researcher investigates and analyzes actual cases of attempts by Samsung Electronics to achieve its social impacts and studies actual roles and approaches of in-house designers with creativity and insights of humanity with regard to these attempts. Each case is selected from various fields such as the company's products and service development, business systems, culture, and external strategies and the ultimate goal is to learn about actual insights and approaches of designers to make contributions to the company's management with social impacts. Especially, humanity and creative thinking of many designers working in the manufacturing industry can have significant contributions to achieving its management with social impacts and effects of sustainable management.

We investigated the effects of dissolved oxygen (D.O.) and fructose (C-source) on cell growth and biosynthesis of cyclosporin A (CyA) produced as a secondary metabolite by a wild-type filamentous fungus, Tolypocladium inflatum. This was performed by controlling the level of D.O. and the residual C-source, as required, through adjustment of medium flow rate, medium concentration and agitation rate in fed-batch cultures. CyA production was furned out to be maximal, when D.O. level was controlled around 10% saturated D.O. and concentration of the C-source was maintained sufficiently low (below 2 g/L) not to cause carbon catabolite repression. Under this culture condition, we obtained the highest values of CyA concentration (507.14 mg/L), Qp (2.11 mg CyA/L/hr), $Y_x/s$ (0.49 g DCW/g fructose), $Y_p/s$<(22.56 mg CyA/g fructose), and YTEX>$_p/x$ (48.31 mg CyA/g DCW), but relatively lower values of cell concentration (11.98 g DCW/L) and cell productivity (0.043 g DCW/L/hr), in comparison with other parallel fed-batch fermentation conditions. These results implied that, in the carbon-limited culture with 10% saturated D.O. level, the producer microorganism utilized the C-source more efficiently for secondary metabolism.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the automated TB-PCR assay for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The 807 cases were analyzed with their TB-PCR, AFB smear and culture in bronchial washing fluids, sputum and body fluids samples. The TB-PCR positive of the bronchial washing fluid, sputum and body fluids were 11.3%, 7.3% and 3.6%, respectively, in cases of AFB smear-negative and culture-negative. The sensitivity values of the bronchial washing fluid, sputum and body fluids were 93.3%, 100% and 50%, respectively, according to the culture result. The sensitivity of body fluids was lower than that of the bronchial washing fluid and sputum. The specificity values of the bronchial washing fluid, sputum and body fluids were 83.3%, 89.0% and 95.7%, respectively, according to the culture result. In conclusion, the automated TB-PCR assay proved to be a useful method for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the bronchial washing fluid and sputum. But we think that there is still a need for us to study body fluids further.

This article defines the characteristics of Korean vegetarianism by tracing the changes in the core motives revealed in the historical development of the vegetarian movement that started in the West. We further explore and compare the limitations of the vegetarian movement conceived in the West with the essential values, 'How can Korean vegetarian culture gain the upper hand?'. Our results indicate that the sequential changes of the motives inherent to the flow of the modern vegetarian movement were <religious-philosophy>, <political-society>, and <healthy-nutrition>. This settled the transition from 'vegetarianism as an ideological form' to 'vegetarianism as a lifestyle', making it a more becoming way of life. However, along with the spread of 'vegetarian lifestyle as a form of life', commercial vegetarianism, which overshadows the essential value of vegetarianism, continued to flourish due to the modern capitalist industrial system. To curb commercialization, the necessity arose to establish a new vegetarian diet with a propensity towards an 'ecological-environmental point of view'. Thus, in order to establish the term and concept of a vegetarian diet for Korean vegetarian characteristics, we propose the formation of a vegetarian term and concept suitable for the Korean vegetarian culture.

본논문은 조직문화 유형에 따라 종업원의 직무인지도에 차이가 존재하는가에 관한 연구이다.이미 많은 선행 연구를 통해 조직문화 유형과 조직성과간의 관계규명이 이루어져 왔지만 본 논문에서는 Rousseau가 제시한 조직문화 모형을 적용시켜 조직내 종업원들의 직무인지도 차이에 관한 연구를 시도하였다.Rousseau의 조직문화모형은 건설형문화,수동적 방어형 문화, 적극적 방어형 문화의 3가지로 구분되는데 각 문화와 종업원의 직무인지도간에 어던 특성이 존재하는가를 실증적으로 검증해 보았다.건설형 문화형태의 조직구성원은 결과변수로 채택한 태도변수간에 매우 긍적적인 특성을 보이고 있었다.방어형 문화형태의 하나인 수동적 방어형 문화형태의 조직구성원은 태도변수값이 모두 마이너스를 나타냈으므로 역의 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반면에,적극적 방어형 문화형태의 결과는 건설형 문화형태와는 비교할 수 없지만 수동적 방어형 문화 형태의 결과에 비해서는 약간 긍정적인 관계로 나타났다.그러므로,조직성과 향상을 위해서는 조직문화의 형태가 건설형 문화형태를 갖도록 하고 방어적인 문화형ㅇ태를 최적화하도록 조직문화를 개발시키는 것이 바람직한 것으로 본 연구를 통해서도 확인 할수 있었다.

To know possibility of raw ginseng production for white- and red-ginseng by direct-sowing culture, seeds were directly sowed or seedlings were transplanted at soil condition of sandy loam in ginseng field. After cultivation, the characters of 5-year-old ginseng were investigated. Number of survived plants was increased with increase the seeding quantity in direct-sowing culture, the survived plants in direct-sowing culture was higher than that of transplanting one. Rate of the numbers of survived plants to numbers of seeds sowed in plots of 134 or 90 seeds sowed per tan, 180 x 90cm area, inspire of high number of survived plant was high compared to that of transplanting culture. Occurrence rate of rusty root of ginseng in direct-sowing culture was low significantly compared to that of transplanting culture. Root yield showed in the order of 134, 268, 90 seeds sowed, the values of yield in direct-sowing culture were high obviously compared to that of transplanting one. Individual root weight was increased with decrease the seeding quantity, however, the root weight in plot of 90 seeds sowed showed almost equal the weight in transplanting culture. The number of usable raw ginseng for white- and red-ginseng was increased with decrease of the seeding quantity; the numbers were higher than that of transplanting culture remarkably. We concluded that optimum seedling rate in direct-sowing culture of ginseng was 90 to 134 seeds per tan considering the yield per area and production rate of large root.

Due to recent increased air traffic,, air traffic controllers in charge of en-route and approach control have faced huge increase in both workload and its intensity. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how much safety culture of air traffic controllers has effect on their complexity mitigation strategies during their duties. It could be expected complexity mitigation improve air traffic flow resulting in enhancing safety eventually. According to empirical analysis against air traffic controllers in civil aviation and air force in South Korea, it was proven safety culture had a statistically positive effect on complex mitigation strategies through safety behavior. In safety culture among air traffic controllers, intrinsic culture had a positive effect on extrinsic value of safety culture. Intrinsic value of safety culture led to air traffic controllers' safety behavior which created work complexity mitigation strategies. Among work complexity mitigation strategies, communication and cooperation was proven to be the most important factor effected by safety culture and behavior. It was implied that enhancing the intrinsic values of safety culture would cause to improve extrinsic safety culture and air traffic controller's work efficiency.

An Asian Ethnic Look is based on its own values of traditional costumes and the fashion accessories that are influenced by its own genre within their own culture. In this thesis, it contemplates the study of visual values and the traditional influences of the Modern Western Designers and Asian Designers' definitions and the considerations of an Ethnic look in the countries like Middle East, India, Korea, China and Japan. The standard procedure to understand their Visual and Aesthetic values is acknowledgement of body. From that foundation, an Asian Ethnic Look and its Visual and Aesthetic Values were researched through out the Middle East Asian Look, Indian Look, Korean Look, Chinese Look and Japanese Look which effective after 1990's. The studies are further researched to the comparisons and interpretations of the Western Designers and the Asian Designers, and the definitions of an Asian Ethnic Look and its Visual and Aesthetic Values in between those. According to each country's religious attitudes, a beauty of concealment and a beauty of negative space appeal which emphasize an ethics on humanity and non-materialistic attitudes. It takes meanings of a phenomenon of nature's worship, Yin-Yang five elements of principles, oneness of body-mind and oneness of universe-mankind. Following the studies of Visual and Aesthetic Values of an Asian Ethnic Look, in 1990's Western Designers' interpretations were prominent use of the Asian Traditional Motif3. However, the interpretations of the Asian Designers were based on their own traditional ethics and they minimized decorative elements but enhanced naturalism, feminism, calm and sober designs compare to the past. The Asian Designers' interpretations of their visual values were based on their Asian mentality, beauty and its straightforward genuine perspective and respects of their own culture.
