The results of this study revealed that the Visual Media Art Museum and Book Wooks were used for entertainment, the Corpentry Shop for education, the Book Museum for escapism, and the Design Museum Culture $Caf{\acute{e}}$ The O's for aestheticism. Additionally, depending on the commercial potential of the respective experience space, the Corpentry Shop, Book Wooks, and the Culture $Caf{\acute{e}}$ The O's were used for profit purposes while the Design Museum and the Visual Media Art Museum for non-profit. Based on the findings of the present study, effective ways to enhance competitiveness in the local experience space are suggested. • This study conducted a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis study on culture and arts information portals to ensure practical and universal use and activation of culture and arts information portals. The capabilities and influence of affordances and system literacy according to user experience regarding accessibility to cultural arts information portals are as follows. First, physical affordances in the culture and arts information portal were key conditions for the culture and arts information portal user experience regarding system accessibility, system understandability, system usability, system usability, and system literacy. Second, the functional affordance of the user experience in the cultural arts information portal was relatively low and unimportant, and when the functional affordance was low, the user's system accessibility, system understanding, system usefulness, system usability, and system literacy were increased. Third, if the user's functional affordance and sensory affordance are low in the culture and arts information portal, the system accessibility, system understanding, system usability, and system literacy of the culture and arts information portal users are increased. Fourth, cultural arts information portals must build an innovative system with a systematic approach appropriate for the user base by linking system literacy capabilities with a focus on physical affordances.

  • Objectives: The study was a cross-sectional research to examine dental hygiene students' multi-cultural experiences, emotional intelligence and cultural competency and to understand the correlations among them. Methods: The study was conducted from September $1^{st}$ to October $31^{st}$ 2016, based on the survey of 449 students in the department of dental hygiene at 7 Universities. The questionnaire consisted of 57 questions including general characteristics (n=7), multi-cultural experiences (n=7), emotional intelligence (n=16) and cultural competency (n=27). Results: Each score of students' emotional intelligence and cultural competency is 3.43 and 3.01 respectively in 5-point scale. An analysis of correlations between emotional intelligence and cultural competency shows that the higher the emotional intelligence, the higher the cultural competency (r=0.342). The factors affecting the cultural competency include use of emotions (${\beta}=0.327$, p<0.001), control of emotions (${\beta}=0.254$, p=0.001), frequency of multi-cultural media (${\beta}=0.221$, p<0.001) and experience of multi-cultural class (${\beta}=0.221$, p=0.002). The modified explanatory power in this model is 28.2% (F=10.856, p<0.001). Conclusions: There was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and cultural competency, and the contacts with multi-culture and experience of class are identified as the affecting factors. Dental hygiene students should acquire theoretical experiences regarding the multi-culture through curriculum or continuous educations and it is necessary to promote such educations in order to develop and apply the programs for the enhancement of emotional intelligence.

  • The goal of this study was to investigate how daily experiences of schoolwork and leisure activities explained cultural differences in levels of adolescent depression. A combined sample of 58 high school seniors in Korea and 62 high school seniors in the United States reported time use patterns and affect states in daily activities and levels of depression. The time use pattern in daily independent study during class hours and in active leisure activities significantly explained cultural differences in levels of depression. Affect states in all schoolwork activities and passive leisure activities also significantly explained cultural differences in levels of depression. These findings suggest that Korean adolescents' experience of 'exam hell', particularly the lack of active leisure activities and more negative emotional experiences of daily activities are partly responsible for their higher depression relative to American counterparts.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting subjective oral symptoms according to the gender of youth from multi-cultural families in Korea using data from the 14th (2018) Korean Youth Health Behavior Survey. Methods: The independent variables used in this study consisted of gender and sweet drink intake. The dependent variable was experience of subjective oral symptoms. Compensation variables consisted of general characteristics of school type, academic performance, economic status, drinking status, smoking status, and number of tooth brushings day before. The subjects of the study were 835 children of multi-cultural families whose parents were foreigners. All statistical analyses were performed by complex samples cross-tabulation analysis and complex samples logistic regression analysis. Statistical analysis was performed using the PASW statistical package 21.0 (Statistical Packages for Social Science Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). A significance level of 0.05 was used for statistical significance. Results: The composite sample logistic regression analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference between gender and intake of sweet drinks in experience of subjective oral symptoms. Conclusions: These results suggest that factors influence subjective oral symptoms in Korean multi-cultural adolescents. Therefore, I hope that they will be used as basic data for the introduction and development of a customized oral health education program for improving oral health of multi-cultural adolescents.

  • This study examined human rights perception, cultural diversity perception, level of character perception, and influencing factors for university students in order to prepare basic data on integrated education methods of character, human rights and cultural diversity and education program models. The research questions are as follows. 1. What are university students' perceptions of character, cultural diversity and human rights? 2. What is the status of the experience of family life education on character, cultural diversity, and human rights, and is it related to the level of perception? 3. What variables affect character perception, cultural diversity perception, and human rights perception? The survey targeted 407 students at two universities in Seoul and used IBM PASW Statistics as a tool to analyze data. The study results are as follows. First, university students' character, cultural diversity and human rights perception were above average; however, empirical education is still required because they had low scores in the area of action. Second, male university students have less experience in family life education on character, cultural diversity and human rights compared to female university students. Third, it is necessary to integrate education for character, cultural diversity and human rights because the most influential factors in character perception, cultural diversity perception and human rights perception were character education. The role of family life education should be considered important because personality education in the home showed a relatively high correlation.

  • In this study, we identified the components of cultural competency in college students according to their multicultural experiences. We collected the data from 663 college students located in Gyeonggi-do in September, 2016. Using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 version, we analyzed the data with descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Our results are as follows. The average of cultural competency is 3.48 points, In the components of cultural competency, cultural awareness is highest at an average of 3.78 points, followed by cultural attitude which has an mean value of 3.73 points. Also, the cultural competency based on the multicultural experience, it is significantly higher when the subjects contact with multicultural people and take a class related to multiculture than the subjects who don't have those kind of experiences. This results indicate that it is necessary to develop various programs for college students' multicultural experiences, because those multicultural experiences improve students' cultural competency.
