Purpose - This study aims to explore and describe human resource management (HRM) in Nepalese organizations. Specifically, this study addresses three research questions: (a) what are the key human resource (HR) practices in Nepalese organizations?; (b) what are the major tasks and roles of HR departments in Nepalese organizations?; and (c) how is the status of the HR function expected to change within Nepalese organizations? Research design, data, and methodology - For this purpose, we implemented the Delphi method and developed an informed consensus among selected experts concerning the research questions. Results - The findings illustrate that organizations in Nepal adopt a wide range of HR practices commonly used in Western and developed countries. Simultaneously, some HR practices specific to the Nepalese context are also discovered. The experts' consensus on the future of HRM confirms that the evolution of the HR function to a strategic partner of management is evident in Nepalese organizations. Conclusions - Domestic as well as foreign organizations in Nepal try to create HRM systems that place them on a par with global companies. At the same time, they incorporate cultural features specific to Nepal to compete effectively in local markets. While there are few empirical studies describing HR practices in Nepal, this study contributes to broadening our understanding of the current and future status of HRM in Nepal.
This study was designed to explore fundamental bases of parental role satisfaction and child-rearing practices by comparing Korean and Yanbian Korean-Chinese mothers who share the same cultural roots but live in societies with different ideology and values. Total of 314 mothers with children aged from three to six years participated in this study:- 160 Korean mothers from two cities in Korea and 154 Korean-Chinese mothers from two cities at YanBian in China. Parental Satisfaction Questionnaires by Hyun (1994) and Child Rearing Practice Measures developed by the researchers were used to measure mothers parental role satisfaction and child rearing practices. The results showed that Korean-Chinese mothers seemed to be more satisfied with their roles as parents than Korean mothers. Additional analyses with socio-economic variables reported that both Korean and Korean-Chinese mothers satisfaction about spousal support were higher and their role conflicts were reduced when the household income was higher. Interestingly, most Korean-Chinese mothers reported to be highly satisfied with spousal support whereas only highly educated Korean mothers seemed to be satisfied with spousal support. In addition, for child-related variables, Korean and Korean-Chinese mothers' parental satisfaction were not affected by their childrens gender or age but when they thought their childrens temperament was difficult, their role-conflict tended to increase.

The study aims to investigate corporate social responsibility (CSR) best practices of the world automotive industry - Peugeot, BMW, Ford, Hyundai and Toyota among others - and recommend that they plan their business strategies and managerial responses accordingly. Based on the comparative research and case studies, this research finds that all five automobile manufacturers have taken very similar measures and actions in order to establish and maintain a high level of CSR practices. Sustainability was a core value in all five companies and served as a guiding principle in every aspect and approach of their business. This study finds that all five companies have CSR strategies in place to increase energy efficiency as well as reduce the usage and wastage of water in their production and plants. This research also finds that all companies monitor their suppliers and their own production process to ensure that they maintain their CSR standards. More impressively, this sustainable management practice is transferred along the companies' supply chain through education and training. Their suppliers and business partners are closely monitored to make sure that their high CSR standards are respected and followed. However, we find that there also are some differences in terms of their CSR deliveries and activities.

Selfie practices on social media can result in negative body image for men. The current study investigated the dual body image pathway model for the relationship between selfie practices on social media and body satisfaction, with internalization as a mediator. Structural equation modeling analyses supported our research model when studying 446 young Korean male Instagram users. The results indicated that selfie editing behavior, but not selfie browsing behavior, significantly predicted an increased internalization of a body ideal. The positive associations between internalization, muscularity dissatisfaction, and body fat dissatisfaction were confirmed. Additionally, the indirect effects of selfie editing behavior on muscularity and body fat dissatisfaction due to internalization were significant. The study confirmed the detrimental effects of selfie behavior on body satisfaction for male social media users. The results provided valuable information that selfie editing may be a risky behavior since it can result in developing muscularity and body fat dissatisfaction. Theoretical contributions and practical implications were discussed. Future research should address the age and cultural differences that may elucidate the impacts of selfie practices on men's body image concerns.

The success of sericulture industry in India is mainly attributed to the well-planned annual sericultural activity and the systematic implementation of pest preventive and control measures. The insect spectrum of silkworm and its food plants is complex and plays a major role in limiting the production of silk. Insects cause extensive damage to plant whereas predators and parasites either kill the silkworm larvae or force them to spin flimsy cocoons. Unilateral control measure against this pest is mainly based on the use of synthetic organic insecticides. Though these approaches initially paid rich dividends, the undesirable consequences soon surfaced. Insecticide induced resurgence of gall midges, leafhopper, leaf roller, secondary pest out breaks and development of pest biotypes has led to realization of Integrated Pest Management in sericulture. Various components of IPM, viz. Host plant resistance, cultural practices, biological control, chemical control and integrating them at various technological levels have been studied. Sources of host plant resistance have been identified for some of the major insect pests. High yielding mulberry variety has been propagated and their resistances towards major pests have been recorded. Cultural practices like pruning, pollarding, judicious use of nitrogen, optimum spacing and weed management have preyed to be the powerful tools in containing pests. Natural control over the pest population build- up exerted by the wide range of parasitoids, predators and pathogens has been well documented with identification of natural enemies and studies on their potential. Augmentation, through inoculation or inundative releases of parasitic arthropods, is the most direct way of increasing the numbers of these beneficials in sericulture.
Where people within a certain cultural sphere have formed their own peculiar cultural beliefs including health belief, health value and health practice, care-givers have a good understanding of health management as those practices exist in the client's sociocultural background. The purpose of this study was to describe various caring behaviors in traditional childbearing management and ultimately to provide basic data for nursing practice and sustantive maternity nursing theory. To investigated taring behaviors, the ethnographic approaches were used. The fieldwork for this study has been conducted from December, 1991 to September, 1992. The data collection method was used in-depth interview. The key informants were 19 womans aged from 60 to 84, and general Informant was a native aged 50. Results of the study were as follows. The components of caring behavior inculded heeding, preventing from impurities, encouraging the power, praying, warming up one's body, enduring, helping, healing, resting, making preparations, utilizing mugwort, creating good blood circulation, tabooing, This components of taring behavior were 6 categories, making every effort, encouraing, contriving an easy labor, healing, making preparations, enduring, The prominent caring beehavier during childbearing process was making every effort. In conclusion, for more effective childbearing management of care-givers must eliminate from their own minds 'primitive' or 'supertitious' attitudes toward traditional childbearing management. Also it is desirable that they establish Korean style nursing intervention along with modern scientific practices in conjunction with the traditional childbearing management.
The purpose of this study is to discuss current problems and the directionality of multicultural education by examining the perceptions of teachers regarding the implementation of multicultural education and the actual practice of it within early childhood classroom. The study participants included a total of 7 teachers and 41 young children (3 children from multicultural families). Data were gathered by in-depth interviews with 7 teachers and non-participant observations in two classrooms. The results of our examination of teachers' perceptions of multicultural education were as follows. It is addressed only when there are children from multicultural families present in the classroom. Furthermore, it is only addressed in terms of specific life themes, and it requires external supporting instruction and resources because it is difficult to implement multicultural education by most teachers. The current practice of multicultural education is being addressed through an assimilative approach. It was also clear that teachers respond ambivalently to the issue of cultural particularity in children from multicultural families and use an individualized educational approach situated within the cultural deficit model. etc. Based on these results, the implications and limitations were also discussed.

This study aims at searching for educational quality of abstract expression from the expression 'Yeok-goon-eun'[亦君恩/ also the king's mercy] which appears frequently in the classics. I clarified that the expression can be used to mean not only eulogy and missing the king, which is a conventional phrase, but also cynicism or excuse for oneself, curative response and so forth. In other words, the symbol, 'Yeok-goon-eun', has a variety of meanings according to readers and contexts. Like the example of the expression 'Yeok-goon-eun', the expressions of the classics in itself imply deep meanings to experience. They do not correspond to contemporary words which are familiar to current readers. Thus, the expressions of the classics have to be experienced by learners. In specific, 'Yeok-goon-eun' provides the present learners with special experience such as perception and attitude about the world, relationship between the nature and human beings, and cultural practices which attribute to the other. Such perspective of experience has been focussed on that the expressions in the classics have the world of understanding and recognition which is quite different from the present beyond the side of communication and delivery. It offers significant viewpoint in relation to value and quality of classic literature education.
In this paper, I will pursue initial ideas I formulated in 2012 about the permeation of Korean influences in Philippine popular culture, particularly in the production of serialized TV drama/soap operas or the "teleserye" [tele for television + "serye" or series; thus, TV drama series]. I called the phenomenon the "Korean Turn" as I observed the emulation of Korean televisual drama (nowadays called K-Drama) modes and practices by local production through various means of cultural appropriation. This time, I will expand my exploration to other aspects of Philippine entertainment and other cultural practices. I will also update my observations on the continuing "Korean turn" in the teleserye. I will argue, on the one hand, about the success and soft power of hallyu or the "Korean wave" in the Philippines; and on the other, about Philippine culture's enduring ingenuity in its reception and repurposing of hallyu. Ideas to be yielded here will form part of a potential framework in understanding the dynamics of the interface between Korean and Philippine cultures, in the context of globalization. I assert that popular culture remains to be an undervalued field of inquiry, as far as these contexts are concerned.
This paper examines Jang Hyeongwang's cultural awareness and the way of practice by focusing on his spirit of humanities in relation to the understanding of territory and bibliographic materials. In fact, this starts from conflicting evaluations on Jang Hyeongwang's way of learning in the field of Korean history. Jang Hyeongwang emphasizes realization of humanity, which is considered as basic framework of culture. He claims the indivisibility of Dao(道) and culture(mun文) by arguing that almighty principle of Dao manifests itself through phenomena of culture. In other words, Dao is the root of culture and, at the same time, culture is the necessary element of making Dao valuable. Furthermore, he insists that realization of human culture is the gist of manifesting the pattern of nature. In this vein, the roles of human beings are so important in creating humanistic civilization. He considers all kinds of human affairs as the contents of humanistic culture, which are contained in six classics. Especially, He says that the moral is reality of human culture and that literature is a literal expression of humanistic spirit. Thus, he criticizes that there are literatures without moral practices. He pays a special attention to his indigenous culture. He links the cultural understanding of geography, which is the foundation of realizing humanistic spirit, to awareness of Korean territory and grasps the territory in the light of topography of geographic power. Thus, he defines it as "Central Field" which bears comparison with China (middle kingdom). With the positive understanding of his country, he insisted that Korean indigenous culture and custom are as much advanced as China and was so proud of the moral characters and norms that Korean people had formed so far. Moreover, Jang truly exhibited affection to Korean literature, which had formed through Korean history. Kim Hyu, one of his students, activates Jang's will to preservation of Korean culture. Over twenty years, Kim completed Collected Record of Korean Literatures(haedong munhon ch'ongnok 海東文獻總錄). Actually, he started the preparatory works for compiling them. We should keep in mind that this compilation was completed following Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. It means that he has cultural awareness of preserving Korean literal heritages. Hence, it can be evaluated as the results of the enhancement of national studies. We have seen that He truly highlights realization of humanistic spirit by insisting the practices of moral values. In fact, his mind is linked to genuine affection to Korean territory, culture and literatures. Such affection can be paraphrased as moral awareness of humanity and its practices. In conclusion, his humanistic spirit should be understood as strong belief on universality of human morality. His cultural awareness of homeland and the will to practices should be considered as cultural pride of Korean intellectual traditions rather than following Chinese culture blindly.
