In this paper, a methodology to assess machine tool errors quickly is suggested using a touch probe and a cube array artifact. Parameterized error models derived are expressed of model coefficient vectors and backlash errors to be determined. To determine the unknown model coefficient vectors, a cube array artifact is proposed. Considering CMM measurement data of cube vertex coordinates. error vectors for all axes ate obtained and used to complete the error model. Some simulation results show that the suggested error model can follow the true values within 10$\mu\textrm{m}$. To verify the error model, a circular part with two concentric circles is measured and simulated. The results show that the differences between CMM and OMM radius errors are smaller than 15$\mu\textrm{m}$.
This paper presents development of double-K fracture model for the split-tension cube specimen for determining the unstable fracture toughness and initial cracking toughness of concrete. There are some advantages of using of split-tension cube test like compactness and lightness over the existing specimen geometries in practice such as three-point bend test, wedge splitting test and compact tension specimen. The cohesive toughness of the material is determined using weight function having four terms for the split-tension cube specimen. Some empirical relations are also suggested for determining geometrical factors in order to calculate stress intensity factor and crack mouth opening displacement for the same specimen. The results of double-K fracture parameters of split-tension cube specimen are compared with those obtained for compact tension specimen. Finally, the influence of the width of the load-distribution of split-tension cube specimen on the double-K fracture parameters for laboratory size specimens is investigated. The input data required for determining double-K fracture parameters for both the specimen geometries are obtained using well known version of the Fictitious Crack Model.

Qualification model(QM) of main payloads including concentrating photovoltaic system using fresnel lens, heating wire cutting type shockless holding and release mechanism, and MEMS-based solid propellant thruster have been developed for the STEP Cube Lab.(Cube Laboratory for Space Technology Experimental Project), which is a pico-class satellite for verification of core space technologies. In this study, we have verified structural safety and functionality of the developed payloads under a qualification temperature range through the QM thermal vacuum test. Additionally, a reliability of thermal model of the payloads has been confirmed by performing a thermal correlation based on the thermal balance test results.

Biomechanical behavior of the human femur is very important in various clinical situations. In this study, the data of FE models based on DICOM file exported from Computed tomography(CT). We generated FE models(voxel model, tetra model) of human femur using CT slide image. We compared them with Yon Mises stress results derived from finite element analysis(FEA). Comparing the two models, we found a correlation of them. As a result, the tetra model based proposed marching cube algorithm is a valid and accurate method to predict parameters of the complex biomechanical behavior of human femur.

The mission objective of STEP Cube Lab. (Cube Laboratory for Space Technology Experimental Project) classified as a pico-class satellite is to find space core technologies researched at domestic industry or university and to verify these technologies on mission orbit. To implement this objective, system level electrical integration and function test (EIT) by using developed flight software were performed in compliance with system requirements. And the effectiveness of the flight model (FM) was verified through launch and thermal vacuum test at acceptance level. This paper will introduce a series of process of electrical function tests for FM EIT, launch and thermal vacuum tests.
This study attempts to establish a precise forecast model for the container inventory demand of shipping companies through forecasts based on equipment type/size, ports, and weekly system dynamics. The forecast subjects were Shanghai and Yantian Ports. Only dry containers (20, 40) and high cubes (40) were used as the subject container inventory in this study due to their large demand and valid data computation. The simulation period was from 2011 to 2017 and weekly data were used, applying the actual data frequency among shipping companies. The results of the model accuracy test obtained through an application of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) verified that the forecast model for dry 40' demand, dry 40' high cube demand, dry 20' supply, dry 40' supply, and dry 40' high cube supply in Shanghai Port provided an accurate prediction, with $0%{\leq}MAPE{\leq}10%$. The forecast model for supply and demand in Shanghai Port was otherwise verified to have relatively high prediction power, with $10%{\leq}MAPE{\leq}20%$. The forecast model for dry 40' high cube demand and dry 20' supply in Yantian Port was accurate, with $0%{\leq}MAPE{\leq}10%$. The forecast model for supply and demand in Yantian Port was generally verified to have relatively high prediction power, with $10%{\leq}MAPE{\leq}20%$. The forecast model in this study also had relatively high accuracy when compared with the actueal data managed in shipping companies.

The STEP Cube Lab. classified as a pico-class satellite has been successfully developed as a flight model(FM) to be launched in 2015. Its mission objective is to perform the on-orbit verification of fundamental space core-technologies. In this study, a thermal design concept based on the passive method to achieve the mission objective is introduced. The effectiveness of the thermal design and performance of the satellite has been verified through the acceptance level thermal vacuum test. In addition, to improve the reliability of thermal mathematical model, correlation was performed using the results of thermal balance test. This paper describes a series of process for the thermal vacuum test on the STEP Cube Lab. FM.
Some of satellites such as IKONOS don't provide the orbital elements so that we can’ utilize the physical sensor model. Therefore, Rational Function Model(RFM) which is one of mathematical models could be a feasible solution. In order to improve 3D geopositioning accuracy of IKONOS stereo imagery, Rational Polynomial Coefficients(RPCs) of the RFM need to be updated with Ground Control Points(GCPs). In this paper, a method to improve RPCs of RFM using GCPs and 3D cube is proposed. Firstly, the image coordinates of GCPs are observed. And then, using offset values and scale values of RPC provided, the image coordinates and ground coordinates of 3D cube are initially determined and updated RPCs are computed by the iterative least square method. The proposed method was implemented and analyzed in several cases: different numbers of 3D cube layers and GCPs. The experimental results showed that the proposed method improved the accuracy of RPCs in great amount.
Finite difference model and dynamic thermal property evaluation system were developed to estimate convection heat transfer coefficient by modeling temperature-time profile of beef cube in continuous flow sterilizing system. As input parameters of the model, specific heat and thermal conductivity values of beef frankfurter meat were independently measured from 20 to $80^{\circ}C$. Convection heat transfer coefficient was estimated by comparing simulated and measured temperature-time profiles. Actual temperature-time profiles of meat cube were measured at flow rates of 15, 30, and 45 L/min and viscosities from 0 to 15 cp, and mean values of convection heat transfer coefficients ranged from 792 to $2107\;W/m^2{\cdot}K$. Convection heat transfer coefficient increased with increase in flow rate and decreased as viscosity increased.
In this study, we proposed Context Cube as a conceptual model of user context, and a Multi-modal Interaction Design framework to develop ubiquitous service through understanding user context and analyzing correlation between context awareness and multi-modality, which are to help infer the meaning of context and offer services to meet user needs. And we developed a case study to verify Context Cube's validity and proposed interaction design framework to derive personalized ubiquitous service. We could understand context awareness as information properties which consists of basic activity, location of a user and devices(environment), time, and daily schedule of a user. And it enables us to construct three-dimensional conceptual model, Context Cube. Also, we developed ubiquitous interaction design process which encloses multi-modal interaction design by studying the features of user interaction presented on Context Cube.
