This study is to plan the interior spaces of cruise ships for domestic services. In order to give directions for planning of interior spaces, a survey was done through questionnaire by Koreans who have experience of travelling on cruise ships. Based on the survey results and other important situations around domestic cruising industry we set up the critical conditions for the interior space design for domestic service cruise ships. And then the data on the cruise ships which have similar conditions with the domestic service cruise ships are analysed. Types and sizes of interior spaces and horizontal and vertical composition of private and public spaces are main concerns in this study.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the form and space of superstructure and to present the characteristics of design innovation and space planning in cruise ships. The exterior design styling and interior space design are induced on the important design concept in cruise ships. The scale and structural daring of the past mega ship and next generation concept is being injected into the current cruise ship design.

year in Europe and Asia. Therefore the introduction of new ships continues at a great rate. There is a definite trend toward either large ships or smaller, more luxurious vessels in cruise industry. The day to design and build the large cruise vessel is coming to Korean shipyards, sooner or later. The most important thing to design large cruise vessel is to have a correct comprehension about the feature of cruise vessel, especially of the passenger accommodation area in cruise vessel. This paper is on the spatial features of the passenger accommodation area in cruise vessel. General arrangement drawings, deck plans and technical data of the newest large cruise ships are analysed to understand the spatial features and induce the direction of space planning of passenger accommodation area for the large cruise ship of tomorrow.

Southeast Asian region cruise market is expected to be stable or grow in the near future depending on the region's economy. Star Cruises company, which has entirely dominated the regional market since 1998, has attempted to expand beyond traditional cruise routes in Southeast Asian region and develop new markets in Thailand and Dubai. Such a situation urges Korean shipyards to study on Southeast Asian region based cruise ships. This study is to suggest directions for planning of interior spaces of Southeast Asian region based cruise ships. In order to accomplish this purpose the market situation is analyzed and the adequate ship's tonnage(70,000grt class) is decided. According to mission-based design process the sizes of standard staterooms are set up first and then the sizes of the important structural parts of ship are calculated. Through analyzing the 26 cruise ships of 70,000grt class the kinds, locations and sizes of public rooms are grasped. And we inspect 4 cruise ships of Star Cruises, which are now being operated in Southeast Asian region to understand design characteristics of interior spaces.

As marine leisure is getting popular around the world, people's interest in cruise ship is increasing rapidly. Now it became possible to make cruise ship with Korean technology, as a result of continuous research and development. However, as cruise ships are getting bigger and more popular, new cruise interior design is required to satisfy various clients' aesthetic and functional demands. Therefore, more researches for cruise interior design are needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of planning and design of passenger's cabins in cruise ship. The scope of this research is limited to the types in the 2004-2010 in Large Cruise Ships. Method of this study are document study and case study, in particularly, case study is conducted for the specific design methods through case analysis. The results of this study are as follow : One of the transitions in the cruise cabin designs is that cabins with balconies occupy a large portion of the entire cabins. As the functions of these balconies are diversifying, more distinctive forms of balcony are showing up. In particular, the cabins which are connected to public space differentiate themselves from those with the same rates; it meets the demands of the clients who require high quality services. In terms of cabin design, a futuristic, distinctive cabin that has incorporated will be a very important function in determining the value of the cruise ship. Based on the results of this research, application of the rapid changes in cabin design and studies about more diversified and advanced design are required.

The concept of recent cruise ship design is changing rapidly according to the expansion of cruise fleet sizes, emphasis on passenger safety and tightened requirements for ecotourism. In this view point, this study focuses on investigative analysis for the recent trends in cruise ship design and construction. Based on the shipyard production logs and the cruise industry's annual news, the data for principal dimensions of newly built cruise ships, their hull forms and propulsion devices and the characteristics of cabin and public spaces are collected and analysed. As expected, it is found that the size of cruise ships is growing and the design concept is becoming more leisure-oriented for all ages rather than lust sightseeing. For producing a greater ton/pax ratio, the adoption of podded electric propulsion system, outside cabins and balcony spaces is a common trend in recent cruise ship design.

This research studies the adequate size standard of Seogwipo cruise terminal CIQ facility that is scheduled to be built around Gangjeong harbor area in Seogwipo-city. In order to respond to the highly increasing number of passenger cruise ships compared to Seogwipo cruise terminal design in 2010, the adequate size standard of Seogwipo cruise terminal CIQ facility was examined for passenger service level grade. Based on size computation elements such as the number of passengers of cruise ships with the largest size of port entry, ship landing rate, passenger processing ratio, and surge factor, the CIQ facility size for each service level grade was reviewed. As a result, the area of 2,971m2 (A grade), 2,409 m2 (B grade), and 2,088 m2 (C grade) were computed. This showed that the area of B grade was about 82% and C grade 70% compared to the area of A grade. The CIQ facility size computed for each service level grade in this research was analyzed that its area needed to be increased by 322% at least and 458% at most, compared to the CIQ facility area of 649m2 of the existing design (2010). In order to respond to the increasing number of cruise passengers, provide high-level passenger service, and improve the international image of Jeju, Seogwipo cruise terminal should secure the size that is equal to or higher than the B grade of service level.

본 연구는 세계적인 크루즈 선박들의 거주구역 실내 공간의 일반적 특성과 경향을 분석하고자 하였다. 또한 한중일을 중심으로 하는 아시아권 크루즈 선박의 공용공간과 객실공간에 대해 각 실별로 구체적으로 디자인 특성을 파악하여 크루즈 선박의 공간 디자인을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고, 추후 나아가야 할 방향을 제안하였다. 연구결과, 한중일을 운항하는 두 선박은 각 선사 고유의 컨셉을 바탕으로 모던과 하이테크 스타일이 주를 이루고 있다. 두 선박은 공용공간에서 개방감을 표현하는 방법에 있어서 시각적, 심리적으로 표현하는 방법과 공간적으로 표현하는 방법으로 확연하게 나뉘어졌다. 컬러의 대비를 통해 공간의 볼륨감을 주고 외부의 빛이 들어 오는듯한 효과를 주어 공간의 개방감을 표현하였다. 본 연구는 세계적인 크루즈 선박의 거주 공간의 실내디자인 특성을 이해하고, 추후 크루즈 선박 실내 디자인 개발을 위한 유용한 기초 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

최근 총톤수 16만 톤급 이상의 대형 크루즈선이 국내 항에 정기입항하고 있다. 크루즈를 이용한 국내 관광객이 증가함에 따라 정부에서는 크루즈산업 활성화를 위해 항만기반시설 확충에 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 현재 국내 주요 항구에서 크루즈전용부두 공사가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 국내 항만 및 어항설계기준에는 크루즈선 및 접안시설에 대한 표준제원이 제시되어있지 않다. 대상선박의 표준제원이 제시되어있지 않아 전용시설물 설계 및 인허가에 많은 어려움이 예상된다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 크루즈선에 대한 표준제원을 제시하기 위하여 현재 운항중인 크루즈선의 톤수별 대표선형의 제원을 분석하고 PIANC 사례 및 국내 항설기준을 비교분석 하였다. 분석결과 크루즈선은 연안여객선과 선박제원 및 선박조종성능에 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 크루즈 전용시설물 설계를 위해서는 반드시 대상선박의 제원이 국내항설기준에 반드시 포함되어야 한다. 그리고 선박의 범위를 산정하기 위하여 크루즈선 평균제원 값에 커버율(75%)을 적용하여 크루즈선 표준제원과 수역시설물에 대한 기준을 제시하였다.

크루즈 관광 산업은 모든 관광 산업 중 세계적으로 가장 빠르게 성장하고 있는 관광산업임에도 불구하고, 지금까지 합리적 크루즈 경영의사결정에 관한 학술적 연구가 매우 미진한 상황이다. 이 논문은 크루즈 경영에 관한 기초적인 전략적 의사결정이라고 할 수 있는 크루즈 운항일정계획을 다루고 있다. 이전에 개발된 한척의 크루즈선박에 관한 모형의 제한점을 극복하여, 여러 척의 크루즈선박으로 구성된 크루즈 선대를 일반적으로 다룰 수 있는 최적화 의사결정계획 모형을 개발하였다. 후보운항일정계획들 간의 복잡성을 체계화하기 위해 선박별 후보운항일정계획 네트워크를 제안하였으며, 후보운항일정계획 네트워크 전체를 통합하는 정수계획모형을 개발하였다. 공개된 크루즈 운항일정 자료들에 바탕을 둔 가상 사례를 활용하여 개발된 모형을 실험하였다.
