We discuss the problems of scattering in this framework, and show that the applied method is very useful in the investigation of the effect of the resonance in the observed scattering cross sections. In this study, not only the scattering cross sections but also the decomposition of the scattering cross sections was computed for the ${\alpha}-{\alpha}$ system. To obtain the decomposition of scattering cross sections into resonance and residual continuum terms, the complex scaled orthogonality condition model and the extended completeness relation are used. Applying the present method to the ${\alpha}-{\alpha}$ and ${\alpha}-n$ systems, we obtained good reproduction of the observed phase shifts and cross sections. The decomposition into resonance and continuum terms makes clear that resonance contributions are dominant but continuum terms and their interference are not negligible. To understand the behavior of observed phase shifts and the shape of the cross sections, both resonance and continuum terms are calculated.
The goal of this study was to find the optimum lamina size from red pine (Pinus densiflora) and Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) logs for the cross laminated timber (CLT) production. From visual inspection of the logs from two species, red pine log showed a larger knot and warp compared to the Japanese cedar. Different cross-sectional sizes of lamina ($110mm{\times}30mm$, $110mm{\times}40mm$, $110mm{\times}50mm$, $50mm{\times}30mm$, $30mm{\times}30mm$) from two species were analyzed for yield and grade. Regardless of the species, the optimized cross sectional size for maximizing the yield was $110mm{\times}30mm$. In grading for the different size laminas from Japanese cedar and red pine, a higher percentage of the first and second grade was found from the $110mm{\times}30mm$ lamina cut.

Recently, the cross-model strategy of using male models in advertisements for women's cosmetics has been increasingly utilized. Academics have begun to discuss and study cross-model advertisements, but most of the studies have focused on the effects of the presence of a cross model. We investigated the effects of a crossmodel's product demonstration as an advertising creative strategy on consumer's attitudes toward the ad. We examined the effects of a male model demonstrating the advertised products for women's cosmetics on female consumers' attitudes toward the ad. As a result, we found that when a male model demonstrated a product in a women's product advertisement, consumers' attitudes toward the ad were more positive the higher their product involvement. Therefore, product involvement was found to be a moderating variable in the effect of cross-model product demonstration on attitudes toward the ad. This study contributes to the line of research on the effect of cross-model and product demonstration advertising, providing practical implications for advertising practitioners.

A recent accelerated globalization has changed every aspect of consumers' life on the globe, thus understanding the similarity and the difference among people in the world became the crucial element of business for many global companies. As one of the most globalized industries in Korea, fashion businesses also require urgent assistance of academics in understanding global consumers. This study aimed to analyze cross-cultural fashion marketing studies published in two respectful journals in fashion studies: Journal of Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles and Journal of the Korean Society of Costume. Four researchers independently searched the target journals to locate studies using cross-cultural approaches. A total of 45 cross-cultural studies published in two journals between 1977 and 2005 were found and analyzed. The major findings could be summarized as followed. First, the US was the most frequently studied country followed by China, Japan, Hong Kong and others. Second, popular subjects of cross cultural studies in fashion marketing were fashion marketing environment and management rather than consumer psychology. Third, about 78% of the sampled studies were using quantitative approach, and statistical methods such as factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and $X^2$ analysis were commonly used. Finally, problems in sampling methods, translation of scales, and equivalence of concept, measure and sample were analyzed. Suggestions for future cross-cultural studies were discussed.

Recently, the demands of the large scale machine tools gradually increase to machine the large parts, such as large scale crankshaft, yaw and pitch bearings for the wind power generator and the vehicle or aircraft components. But the high technology is necessary in order to develop the huge machine tools. Furthermore, the global market of it has been monopolized by a few companies. So, we need to develop the large scale machine tools and study its core technology to rush into the increasing market. In this study, we carried out the researches for the important core technology of a multi-tasking, machine tool; a large scale 5-axis machine tool of gantry type for multi-task machining. This study is focused on the design of large size gantry type multi-axis machine. In the case of large size of machine the cross rail deflection in the X-axis is significant. To reduce the deflection due to the eccentric spindle head, a special hollow type design in the cross rail with outside ram is adapted in this study. Also, the Zig-Zag motion in the Y-axis is inevitable with the gantry geometry, which is by the un-balancing, different motion at the left and the right columns moving. We tried to reduce the influence of Zig-Zag motion using FEM with different loading conditions at the left and the right side column.

Purpose: This study explored the relationship between product characteristics and customer purchase intention in cross-border online shopping. Research design, data, and methodology: Through literature review, the research model of product characteristics and consumers' purchase intention is constructed, and trust is taken as a medium variable. Based on the survey data of Chinese consumers, empirical analysis and hypothesis verification are conducted. This study used SPSS version 21 to confirm the reliability and validity of the research model. To confirm the media effect of the model in this study, the Sobel Test was used. Results: The results of hypothesis identification of this research model showed that 8 of the 11 hypotheses were adopted and 3 were rejected. Results confirmed the relationship between product characteristics (specification, diversity, reputation, novelty, quality) and customer purchase intention. Conclusions: The result from this study had particular theoretical significance for improving the research on cross-border online shopping systems to improve the safety and satisfaction of customers in cross-border online shopping.

We have consider the study of local influence for smoothing parameter estimates in spline regression model with heteroscedasticity. Practically, generalized cross-validation does not work well in the presence of heteroscedasticity. Thus we have proposed the local influence measure for generalized cross-validation estimates when errors are heteroscedastic. And we have examined effects of diagnostic by above measures through Hyperinflation data.
Cross-border online shopping is an example of non-mobile transnational consumption behavior that has become more popular over the last decade due to the development of technology and transportation. Based on the Theory of Reasoned Action(TRA), this study proposed and tested the hypothesized model that would explain the relationships among consumption beliefs, attitudes toward cross-border online shopping, subjective norms, and purchase intention. Consumption beliefs were measured by global consumption orientation, consumer orientation, and global brand beliefs. In addition, subjective norms included two types: online and offline norms. Descriptive statistics and path analysis were employed for the analysis of the dataset of 174 participants. As a result, the hypothesized model was generally supported. Consistent with the hypothesis, global consumption orientation and global brand beliefs were positively related to positive attitudes toward cross-border online shopping but negatively associated with consumer ethnocentrism. Offline subjective norms positively predicted both the attitudes and purchase intention whereas online subjective norms only predicted purchase intention. The results reflected that TRA was applicable to the intention of cross-border online shopping in a current on-line shopping context. We also discussed the practical applications and limitations of the study.

This study is aimed to develop a new type of micro cross-flow hydro turbine which has very simple structure and relatively high efficiency. Micro eco cross-flow hydro turbine (ECFT) is proposed to apply in the ranges of very low and middle specific speeds in order to extend the operational range of the turbine. In order to not only obtain a basic data for a new design method of ECFT but also improve the turbine efficiency, experiments and CFD analysis on the performance and internal flow characteristics of the turbine model are conducted. According to the present study results, anti-recirculation block (ARB) and relatively wide turbine width with high flow rate improve the turbine efficiency.

This report investigates the stress distribution according to the location and shape change of the circular hole for the lightweight design of the cross beam of a railway passenger car and studies the lightweight design. To design a lightweight cross beam with a circular hole, we selected the non-circular crossbeam as a basic model, examined the stress distribution and displacement by position and determined the location, shape, size and quantity of the hole for light weight. We analyzed the effects of the position and shape of the hole on the maximum equivalent stress and displacement. The influencing factors were set as the design parameters, and the stress value was examined according to the variation of each variable. By considering the stress value according to the change of each variable and selecting the design parameter with the narrowest scattering value of the stress at each position of the hollow cross beam with various hole positions and shapes, we studied a cross beam with a circle hole under identical load condition to have an equal stress distribution to that of a non-circular cross beam.
