크기가 다른 단면을 가진 평행한 사각 유로를 연결하는 협소유로의 맥동유동에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Investigation of the Flow Pulsation in the Gap connecting with Two Parallel Rectangular Channels with Different Cross-section Areas)

  • Flow pulsation in the gap connecting with two parallel channels is investigated by RANS and URANS approaches. The two parallel channels are connected by a small channel called for a gap. The parallel channels are designed to have different cross section area with its ratio of 0.5. Computations are conducted using a CFX 11.0 code. The bulk Reynolds number is 60,000. Predicted results are compared with the previous experimental data. Mean velocity profile at the center of gap region are compared with experiments for its validation. Spectral analysis on the lateral velocity in the center of the gap was performed. Auto correlation for the axial-flow velocity pattern was presented. The unsteady structure of the flow pulsation was visualized in the region of the gap in the parallel channel.

  • Aerodynamic characteristics of three-dimensional wings in ground effect for Aero-levitation Electric Vehicle(AEV) are numerically investigated for various fairing shapes at the junctions of 3D Wings. Numerical results show that a sizeable three-dimensional comer flow separation occurs with formation of an arch vortex at the junction of main and vertical wings, and also that this is predicted the main cause of the high lift-to-drag(L/D) reduction rate of the main wing. To avoid the comer flow separation, the main idea of this study is to reduce the cross section gradient of the comer flow tube near the trailing edge for various fairing shapes. Improvements on L/D ratios of the wings are pursued by breaking the coherence of superimposed adverse pressure gradients at the wing junction when the cross section gradient is changed slowly at the trailing edge.

PIV 가시화에 의한 합류덕트에서의 유동특성 (Flow Characteristics for PIV Visualization at Junction Duct)

  • Characteristics of flows at T-junction duct with and without orifices are investigated in this paper. Experiments and PIV visualization were carried out for several flow rates. Two-dimensional PIV experimental apparatus was decided by numerical analysis. PIV visualization was also coded to visualize flow fields at junctions for two-dimensional case. For the PIV visualization system, Grey-Level Cross-Correlation particle tracking algorithm was used to calculate the flow fields. Vinyl chloride polymer particles of $100{\sim}150{\mu}m$ of diameter are used in this visualization. The PIV visualization results showed relatively good agreement with Experimental data.

낮은 속도비에서의 직렬 이중 제트-교차흐름의 유동 구조 (The Flow Field Structures of In-lined Double Jet-in-Cross Flow at Low Velocity Ratio)

  • The flow field structures of dual jet-in-cross-flow were examined experimentally for in-lined perforated damage holes configuration using particle image velocimetry. Ensemble averaged in-plane velocity and vorticity data in the jet were determined to study the mean jet structure. Jets are formed by pressure differences between upper and lower airfoil surface. The flow structure of vicinity of the thru holes consist of a vortical structure that wrap around the jets like a horseshoe and develop further downstream through a pair of stream-wise vortices. The shape, size and location of the horseshoe vortex were found to be dependent on the angle of attack. In spite of the existence of battle damage holes, the effect on the control force was insignificant when the damage size was not large enough.

Influence of fracture characters on flow distribution under different Reynold numbers

  • Water inrush through the destruction of water resisting rock mass structure was divided into direct water inrush, key block water inrush and splitting water inrush. In the direct water inrush, the Reynolds numbers has a significant effect on the distribution of the water flow and vortex occurred in the large Reynolds numbers. The permeability coefficient of the fracture is much larger than the rock, and the difference is between 104 and 107 times. The traditional theory and methods are not considering the effect of inertia force. In the position of the cross fracture, the distribution of water flow can only be linearly distributed according to the fracture opening degree. With the increase of Reynolds number, the relationship between water flow distribution and fracture opening is studied by Semtex.

  • 본 연구에서는 소형 무인기의 추진체로 사용되는 덕티드 팬의 공력특성 연구를 위해 덕티드 팬 입/출구의 3차원 유동장 측정과 추력 특성 분석을 수행하였다. 3차원 유동장 측정은 정온형 열선유속계를 통하여 수행되었으며, 추력은 육분력 밸런스를 이용하여 측정하였다. 측풍의 영향을 고려하기 위해 덕티드 팬을 풍동시험기내 유동방향에 대하여 $90^{\circ}$ 회전시켜 설치하였다. 풍동시험을 통하여 4.5 m/s의 측풍으로 인한 덕티드 팬 유동장 및 추력의 변화를 분석하였다.

좁은 채널 내부의 수직 혼합 경계층에 형성된 메탄-공기 에지-화염의 안정화 기초 실험 (A Fundamental Experiment on the Stabilization of a Methane-Air Edge Flame in a Cross-Flowing Mixing Layer in a Narrow Channel)

  • Flame stabilization characteristics were experimentally investigated in a fuel-air cross flowing mixing layer. A combustor consists of a narrow channel of air steam and a cross flowing fuel. Depending on the flow rates of methane and air, flame can be stabilized in two modes. First is an attached flame which is formulated at the backward step where the methane and air streams meet. Second is a lifted-flame which is formulated within the mixing layer far down steam from backward step. The heights and flame widths of the lifted flames were measured. Flame shapes of the lifted flames were similar to an ordinary edge flame or a tribrachial flame, and their behavior could be explained with the theories of an edge flame. With the increase of the mixing time between fuel and air, the fuel concentration gradient decreases and the flame propagation velocity increases. Thus the flame is stabilized where the flow velocity is matched to the flame propagation velocity in spite of a significant disturbance in the fuel mixing and heat loss within the channel. This study provides many experimental results for a higher fuel concentration gradient, and it can also be helpful for the development and application of a smaller combustor.

Experimental study on seismic performance of concrete filled tubular square column-to-beam connections with combined cross diaphragm

  • The connection with combined cross diaphragm is developed for the connection of square CFT column and steel beam and proposed to be used for the frame with asymmetric span length. The structural characteristics of this connection lie in the penetration of the beam flange in the direction of major axis through the column for the smooth flow of stress. The purpose of this study is to analyze the dynamic behavior and stress flow of suggested connection and to evaluate the resistance to shock of connection. Four T-type CFT column-to-beam specimens; two with combined cross diaphragm and the others with interior and through diaphragms, the existing connection types, were made for cyclic load test guided by the load program of ANSI/AISC SSPEC 2002. The results show that the proposed connection is more efficient than existing ones in terms of strength, stress flow and energy absorption and satisfies the seismic performance required in the region of weak/moderate earthquakes.

연소중 미분탄의 단면관측 (Cross-section micrography of burning pulverized coal particles)

  • 본 연구에서는 미분탄의 연소과정을 파악하기 위하여 메탄-공기 예혼합 화염에서 연소중인 석탄입자를 단계별로 여러 위치에서 순간 냉각에 의해 채취한 후 단면을 관측함으로써 미분탄 연소과정의 해석을 시도하였다. 산소 함유량이 미분탄 연소에 미치는 영향을 고려하기 위하여 반응로에서의 연소 조건을 바꾸어 보았다. 또한 미분탄 연소과정의 이해를 돕기 위해 비분탄을 도가니에 넣어 전기 로에서 가열하여 얻은 챠르와 공기중에서 가열하여 얻은 회(ash)에 대한 단면을 관측하였다. 시험용 미분탄은 국내 발전소 등지에서 대량 소비되는 수입 유연탄을 사용하였다.

입자영상유속계와 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 분기관내 유동해석 (Flow Analyses in the Bifurcated Duct with PIV System and Computer Simulation)

  • The objective of the current study is to understand steady 3-dimensional flow phenomena in a bifurcated duct experimentally. A bifurcation model is fabricated with transparent acrylic resin to visualize the whole flow field with the PIV system. The gray level cross-correlation method is applied to the image processing algorithm. The subpixel and the area interpolation methods are used to obtain the final velocity vectors. The finite volume predictions are used to analyze the flow patterns in the bifurcation model. The results of the computer simulation and the PIV experiment for three-dimensional flow show the recirculation zone and the formation of the paired secondary flow distal to the apex of the bifurcation model. The results obtained with the two methods also show that the branch flow strongly strikes the inner wall due to the inertial effect and accompanied helical motion as it flows toward the outer wall.
