A study on high availability of the linux clustering web server (리눅스 클러스터링 웹 서버의 고가용성에 대한 연구)

  • As more and more critical commercial applications move on the Internet, providing highly available servers becomes increasingly important. One of the advantages of a clustered system is that it has hardware and software redundancy. High availability can be provided by detecting node or daemon failure and reconfiguring the system appropriately so that the workload can be taken over bi the remaining nodes in the cluster. This paper presents how to provide the guaranteeing high availability of clustering web server. The load balancer becomes a single failure point of the whole system. In order to prevent the failure of the load balancer, we setup a backup server using heartbeat, fake, mon, and checkpointing fault-tolerance method. For high availability of file servers in the cluster, we setup coda file system. Coda is a advanced network fault-tolerance distributed file system.

  • This study deals with the Benard Flow of Magnetic Fluids in a rectangular cavity which the ratio between height and width is 1 : 4 and the base side or left side is a heating face while other sides are to be cooling faces. When Magnetic field was equally impressed, considering the internal rotation of the elementary ferromagnetic particle, we found the following result from the numerical analysis of the GSMAC algorithm applied to the equation of the magnetic fluid. Benard flow is controlled by intensity and direction of magnetic fields, and critical point appears when especially magnetic field with a heating base and side area near H=-7000 and H=-10000 is applied.

  • The handling of food garbage should be effectively accomplished to strengthen national competitive power, conserve the environment and improve the public health. But the study of this subject left much to be desired. So we studied about present situation, specific character and decreasing method of food garbage and practical application of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point(HACCP) system to handling of food garbage. Actually eight trillion won per year which corresponds to the one fifth of the debt from international monetary found(IMF) as these day's exchange rate was wasted by the form of food garbage, so the government should have willing of support the revenue source of investment to develop and accomplish the effective handling of food garbage. National public relations(P.R.) into improvement of eating and drinking culture and enlightenment of environment movement will be needed. Under the organic cooperation of industrial, academic, government circles, active studies should be accomplished. we hope this study can be used as the basal material of filed of handling of food garbage.

  • An automatic transfer line consists of several stages(groups of stations) in series into one system by a common transfer mechanism and a common control system. In this system losses of the efficiency are evidenced in periods where a stage is forcod down- starved or blocked. The efficiency of an automatic transfer line can be improved by providing buffer storages between a stage or the length of line common senses there are several critical factors, system configurations relative position, and buffer capacity allocations in automatic transfer line are considered with a point of view production rates, average stock, and mean delay. The propose of this paper is to provide the robust designs by Taguchi method which improve the efficiency of four-stage transfer line.

Current Information and Sanitaion Status of Professional Catering Companies (최근 전문위탁급식업체의 일반현황 및 위생관리현황)

  • A survey was performed to provide current information on professional catering companies. Twenty-three catering companies out of thirty-eight(60% recovery) responded the survey for December in 1998. Foodservice establishments managed by 16 small-middle sized catering companies provided an average of 11,200 meals daily, while those managed by major and small-middle sized catering companies were mainly office(72.2%, 57.1%) and school foodservice(15.2%, 26%). The rates of sales of major catering companies and small-middle sized catering companies increased 24%, 30% respectively in 1998. Self-evaluation in catering companies was conducted for sanitary management. Unsatisfactory results from self evaluation were found in three categories, such as, measurement of internal temperature of food materials at reception, ventilation system in the working area, and hand-washing stations with equipment cleaning and sanitizing facilities in front of the working area. Most catering companies expressed a willingness to apply the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system from this survey. $\ulcorner$Professional catering business has arisen as an area requiring more consideration and further study for the production of a safe food.$\lrcorner$

  • HACCP(Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)은 식품의 원료, 제조가공 및 유통 등 전 과정에서 안전 위해물질이 해당제품에 혼입되거나 오염되는 것을 사전에 예방 감시하기 위한 각 과정을 중점적으로 관리하는 기준으로 1995년 이후 식품위생법 규정에 신설되었다. 국내외에서 앞으로 많은 기업은 이러한 청결기준을 만족시키지 못할 경우 무한 경쟁에서 이기기 힘들다. 이를 해결하기 위한 다양한 방법 가운데 품질혁신 방법으로 많이 알려진 Six Sigma 방법론을 이용하여 프로젝트를 시행함으로써 HACCP을 획득 할 수 있는 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 Six Sigma 로드맵과 HACCP의 프로세스를 결합하여 새로운 로드맵을 제시하였다.

  • 위해요소중점관리제도(Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System : HACCP)는 식품의 안전성 보증 측면에서 가장 효율적이고 과학적인 위생관리기법으로 알려져 세계 각국에서 법적으로 도입하여 운용하고 있으며, 국제식품규격위원회(Codex)에서도 식품의 제조시 적용할 국제기준으로 채택하고 있다. 국내 도축장에서는 축산물 가공처리법령에 의거 2000. 7. 1부터 2003. 7. 1까지 4개년으로 나누어 도축장의 도축규모에 따라 연차적으로 의무적으로 시행되어 현재는 모든 소$\cdot$돼지$\cdot$닭 도축장에 동 제도가 시행되어야 한다. 그간 정부는 HACCP이 도축장에 조기에 구축될 수 있도록 다양한 정책을 시행하여 왔고, 그 결과 상당한 성과를 거두었다. 국내도축장에서의 HACCP 시행은 초기단계임을 감안하여 볼 때 앞으로도 이러한 역할은 그 내용은 약간 다르겠으며 상당기간 지속될 것으로 보인다. 국내 도축장에서의 HACCP 시행은 식육의 안전성 보증 측면에서 매우 큰 긍정적 역할을 하였으며 식육에 대한 소비자의 신뢰도를 높이는데도 큰 기여를 하였다.

Controlling Noxious Animal Odours : An Imperative at the Rural-Urban Interface - Review -

  • Reaction by neighbours to odours is increasingly affecting operations of existing animal farming operations and may adversely constrain the further development of the animal production industry in some parts of Australia. It is critical that the scale of such odour impact on the rural-urban interface be estimated to provide useful information both for environmental protection and animal farming operations. Furthermore, the information can be used to modify odour reduction strategies as economic conditions change. The Centre for Water and Waste Technology at The University of New South Wales has developed a comprehensive set of odour control techniques in the course of its research and development effort over the past eight years. Techniques have been developed for odour sampling at point, area and volume sources, monitoring environmental parameters such as ventilation rate, shed temperature, shed humidity, litter water content and ambient meteorological condition, olfactometry and odour dispersion modelling. The work has paved the way for the establishment of odour reduction strategies based on best environmental management practice and advanced odour abatement technologies.

Nonlinear Formation Guidance Law with Robust Disturbance Observer

  • Many formation guidance laws have been proposed for VAV formation flight. Since most autonomous formation flight methods require various active communication links between the vehicles to know motion information of other vehicles, damage to the receiver or the transmitter and communication delay are critical problem to achieve a given formation flight mission. Therefore, in this point of view, the method that does not need an inter-vehicle communication is preferred in the autonomous formation flight. In this paper, we first summarize the formation guidance law without an inter-vehicle communication using feedback linearization and sliding mode control proposed in previous study. We also propose the modified formation guidance law with robust disturbance observer, which can provide significantly better performance than previously mentioned guidance law in case that other vehicles maneuver with large accelerations. The robust disturbance observer can estimate uncertainties generated by acceleration of leader vehicle. By eliminating the uncertainties using the estimated uncertainties, VAVs are able to achieve the tight formation flight. The performance of the proposed approach is validated by numerical simulations.

A Study on the Typhoon Disaster of Greenhouse (시설원예용 플라스틱 하우스의 태풍피해에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to find a way of improving the windproof capability of greenhouse foundations. Generally, greenhouses are often collapsed due to the strong winds, because they are very light weight structures. In such a critical situations, the foundations are very often subjected to uplift and vibration at the same time. This paper describes both the wind disaster of greenhouses by the typhoon FAEY and the uplift resistance of greenhouse foundations. Followings are the results obtained from this study ; Judging from the view point of year round cultural aspects, it is recommended that some measures be taken for the preventions of greenhouse film ruptures because greenhouse structural damages are found to be directly associated with the local rupture of cover film. In the case of surveyed area, movable pipe-houses or pipe-houses of 1-2W type were found to be completely destroyed when the maximum instantaneous wind velocity was over 30m/sec or so. In the case of movable pipe-houses, the uplift resistance of greenhouse was expected to increase with the increase of pipe diameter and/or the embedment pipe length. But at present situations there is a limitation in raising the uplift resistance of movable pipe-house, because pipe diameters as well as pipe lengths customarily selected by farmers are quite a much limited.
