실습선 한바다호의 운항성능에 관한 연구(II) - 상하가속도를 이용한 승선감 평가 - (A Study on the Ship's Performance of T.S. HANBADA(II) - The Evaluation of Boarding Comfort with Vertical Acceleration -)

  • 해상 상태가 거칠어짐에 따라 선체동요로 인하여 선박에 승선 증인 승객 및 승무원은 멀미 증상을 호소하기도 하고, 졸음 증상, 어지럼증, 두통 및 복통 등을 초래하기도 한다. 심한 경우에는 생리적으로 회복하기 힘들 정도의 심각한 장애를 겪기도 한다. 또한, 의욕(동기부여) 감소, 숙련도 저하, 인지능력 및 판단력 저하 등 정신적 활동의 지연이나 오류를 유발하는 등 활동성 및 작업수행 능력이 현저히 떨어지기도 한다. 본 논문에서는 멀미의 발생 및 작업수행과 관련된 대표적인 국제 표준안을 살펴보았고, 실습선에 승선 중인 실습생들을 대상으로 수차례에 걸쳐 설문조사를 실시하여 승선감을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 멀미 중상을 유발하는 주요소가 상하가속도임을 확인하였고, 그 크기(수준)는 0.2g 이상으로 분석되었다. 또한, 속력 또는 침로를 변경하여 파도와의 만남주기가 $4{\sim}8$초의 범위에서 벗어나도록 항해함으로써 멀미 증상을 완화시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

Systems Studies and Modeling of Advanced Life Support Systems

  • Advanced Life Support Systems(ALSS) are being studied to support human life during long-duration space missions. ALSS can be categorized into four subsystems: Crew, Biomass Production, Food Processing and Nutrition, Waste Processing and Resource Recovery. The System Studies and Modeling (SSM) team of New Jersey-NASA Specialized Center of Research and Training (NJ-NSCORT) has facilitated and conducted analyses of ALSS to address systems level issues. The underlying concept of the SSM work is to enable the effective utilization of information to aid in planning, analysis, design, management, and operation of ALSS and their components. Analytical tools and computer models for ALSS analyses have been developed and implemented for value-added information processing. The results of analyses heave been delivered through the internet for effective communication within the advanced life support (ALS) community. Several modeling paradigms have been explored by developing tools for use in systems analysis. they include objected-oriented approach for top-level models, procedureal approach for process-level models, and application of commercially available modeling tools such as $MATLAB^{R}$/$Simulink^{R}$. Every paradigm has its particular applicability for the purpose of modeling work. an overview is presented of the systems studies and modeling work conducted by the NJ-NSCORT SSM team in its efforts to provide systems analysis capabilities to the ALS community. The experience gained and the analytical tools developed from this work can be extended to solving problems encountered in general agriculture.

자율운항선박의 개발 및 운용을 위한 육상 운항사의 인적요인 이슈 고찰 (A Review of Human Element Issues of Remote Operators on Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships)

  • 최근 보다 안전하고 효율적인 해상운송시스템을 위한 해결책으로 자율운항선박의 개발 및 운용에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 자율운항기술은 해양사고 방지, 선박의 연비 증진, 비용 절감 등 긍정적인 측면과 함께 선원의 일자리 감소, 업무의 변화, 보안문제 등 부정적인 측면도 상존하고 있다. 향후 자율운항선박의 시대가 도래 하더라도 육상 센터에서의 제어가 이루어지게 되므로, 육상 운항사의 상황인식과 같이 새로운 인적요인 이슈가 존재할 것으로 예측된다. 본 논문에서는 자율운항선박의 개발 및 운용과정에 고려해야 할 주요 인적요인 이슈를 고찰하고, 육상 센터의 제어에 따라 예상되는 육상 운항사의 의사결정 및 업무수행에 영향을 미치는 요소에 대한 식별과 영향 요소의 평가를 위한 인적 신뢰성 분석 방안을 제시하였다.

새로 건조된 선박의 실내공기환경 조사 연구 (A Study on Indoor Air Quality in new Ship)

  • 새로운 환경문제로 실내공기 오염이 대두되면서 건축 실내공간뿐만 아니라 자동차, 지하철 등 육상의 교통시설 내부의 공기오염에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 해상의 중요한 교통수단인 선박의 실내 공기오염에 대한 관심은 그리 높지 않다. 특히 선박은 일반 건축물에 비해 기밀성이 매우 높고 항해 중이거나 선상 근무시에는 오랜 시간을 선박의 실내에서만 생활하기 때문에 선박의 실내 공기질은 승선자의 쾌적성 뿐만 아니라 건강을 위해 매우 중요한 요소이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선박의 실내공기환경을 개선하기 위해 새로 건조된 선박을 대상으로 실내 공기질을 측정 분석하였다.

KTX 정차역 통과사고 원인분석 및 예방대책 (A Study on the Technique for Preventing Passing-by of High-speed Train)

  • It is commonly recognized that railway is one of the representative transportation and it offers public service based on strategies for being rapid, automation, safety. Since the opening of high speed railway, 3-hundred-million people have used it and acknowledged its efficiency. However, derailed accident at Kwangmyeong station in February, 2011, frequent malfunction of KTX-Sancheon, and accidents by engineer's careless fault damaged on credibility of safety, Especially, spreaded accidents through social networking service by cell phones amplified anxiety of public, being criticized by the press. This study analyzed statistics of past accident and cases of passing-by accident, and surveyed 152 KTX captain engineers about their recognition of the accident by careless fault and experiences of possibility of occurrence for preventing engineer's careless fault and restoring trust According to the analysis, engineers worry about responsibility and disadvantages related to the accidents for the most, and they are nervous about malfunction for the second most. This study presents prevention methods regarding the result. First, it is required to improve mental stability and concentration on their work, secondly, advanced ability to cope with malfunction or error through repetitive education and training are required to increase confidence, and for the last, improvement of operational supporting system such as ATP, GPS to prevent errors by human factors. Improvement of the system is expected to lead engineers to prevent careless fault and regain the reputation of railway.

우리나라 선박관리기업의 시장규모추정과 경영분석에 의한 SWOT분석 (A SWOT Analysis by Market Size Forecasting and a Business Analysis of Korean Ship Management Companies)

  • 본 논문은 우리나라 최초로 선박관리산업의 시장규모를 추정하고 경영실태분석을 수행하여 환경변화에 대응하는 경영개선방안을 제시하였다. 최근 글로벌 해운선사들은 해운원가절감과 서비스의 제고를 위한 전문선박관리업체에 선박 선원관리 일체를 아웃소싱하는 추세이지만 우리나라 선박관리산업의 시장규모는 외항선사 매출규모의 3.75%에 지나지 않고 있어 시장규모 확대가 필요하다. 경영실태분석결과에 의하면, 우리나라 선박관리업체는 경영능력, 국제비지니스역량 및 마케팅 역량이 미흡하여 수익성이 매우 미흡한 편이다. 또한 규모의 영세성과 재무구조가 취약하여 전문적인 선박관리를 위해서는 국제화 및 대형화가 시급하다고 볼 수 있다. 이를 위해서는 정부는 선원의 노령화와 승선기피를 방지하기 위한 선원양성 및 지원정책과 더불어 금융지원과 세제지원이 필요한 것으로 사료되고 있다.

119 구급대의 구급장비 감염 관리와 실태조사 (Infection management for emergency rescue equipment)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the use of infection management and the frequency of emergency equipment sterilization by emergency rescue crews to provide basic guidelines and suggestions for infection control. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 160 emergency medical technician rescue crews in J area from May 7 to May 22 in 2015. The questionnaire consisted of 95 items, including the general characteristics of the subjects (8 items), the use of emergency equipment (33 items), the frequency of facility sterilization (33 items), infection control (12 items), vaccination (4 items), and the use of personal protective equipment (5 items). Results: In all, 97.3% of respondents were aware of the "Guidelines of Infection management for Rescue Operators' and 90.9% received training on infection control. A total of 72.7% and 47.3% of rescue centers were equipped with disinfection facilities and laundry rooms, respectively. The average frequency of sterilization was $3.17{\pm}0.75$, which significantly differed for teams with more clinical experience (p=.050) and teams with three members (p=.030). The average score for individual protective equipment supplies was $1.95{\pm}0.66$. Conclusion: For proper infection management of emergency equipment, our results suggest that the number of crew members should be increased for each ambulance, protective equipment and rescue products should be supplied, and the number of facilities for sterilization and laundry at rescue centers should be doubled.

  • Safety at sea continues to be an important topic for research. The factors that contribute to safety issues are often complex and unclear. Lack of non-technical skills in such areas as communication, teamworking, situational awareness, decision making etc. are well documented as directly affecting safety in high risk work settings such as on board merchant vessels. Competence in non-technical skills can be affected by various habits and circumstances that influence a worker and result in either positive thinking and behaviour or negative thinking and behaviour. Negative thinking can cause stress, anger, frustration; loneliness etc. and this can possibly result in behaviour or actions that undermine the safety of crew and ship. Factors that may contribute to these negative thoughts and behaviours are many and varied and this paper will be looking at one aspect: mobile phone use. In the Republic of Korea, dependency on mobile phones is uniquely high. Maritime students are also susceptible to such dependency and this paper will demonstrate that the symptoms associated with mobile phone addiction and dependency, and in particular the symptoms of withdrawal, are important factors that need to be mitigated in order to improve safety at sea. Although the benefits of mobile phones are many it will be suggested that over-reliance, dependency or addiction can result in negative thinking or behaviour that may directly or indirectly contribute to the factors that cause incidents and accidents at sea. It will be suggested that the most appropriate method of dealing with this problem is twofold: firstly, through training at the educational level and secondly, by encouraging the shipping industry and government to invest more into providing seafarers with better access to the communication methods that they are used to on shore in order to improve work conditions.

전남 지역의 패류 형망어선의 개량 (The improvement of the shellfish dredge vessel in Jeonnam province)

  • This study is aimed to develop an improved shellfish dredge vessel considering the increase of the fishing safety and welfare of fishermen in Jeonnam province. We visited five fishing village societies in Korea, and conducted field surveys and survey questions to investigate the current status. In order to solve the problems presented by the investigation, a general arrangement of the improvement vessel was written and adopted after meeting between the fishermen and research team, and calculated the initial stability in five loading conditions by using the Napa program. As a result of field surveys and survey questions, the existing vessel have buoyant materials under the bow and the warp pass through the wheel-house. In addition, most fishing equipment and nets are concentrated on a narrow stern, making it difficult to work efficiently. According to the survey, fishermen also responded that operation of casting and hauling is very inconvenient. The fishing equipment of the improvement vessel was rearranged, the size of the wheel-house and the crew room was increased, and we secured a basic welfare space. As a result of the initial stability test, the stability criteria of the fishing vessel were satisfied in all loading condition.

  • 전 세계적으로 기후변화의 패러다임에 따라 조선업계에서도 친환경연료를 이용하는 추진시스템이 고려되면서, 다양한 추진기 역시 각광을 받고 있다. 일반적인 프로펠러와 타로 구성되었던 추진기들은 전방위추진기(아지무스 스러스터)라는 특수한 추진기의 발전으로부터 그 종류가 다양해지고 있다. 이러한 전방위추진기는 과거에는 예인선에 많이 설치되어 있으나, 현재는 동적위치제어시스템을 탑재한 해양플랜트운영선박에 많이 설치되어 사용되고 있는데, 이는 일반적인 추진기의 조타 방법과 상이하여 승선하는 선원들이 그 특성을 익히는데 많은 시간이 소요되고 있다. 아울러 이러한 특수한 추진기와 관련한 교육 역시 제한적으로 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 전방위추진기 탑재 선박의 조종 미숙으로 발생한 해양사고를 STAMP 기법을 통해 원인을 분석한 후 특수한 추진기를 설치한 선박의 안전 운항을 위해 표준조타명령에 대한 필요성을 시사하고자 한다.
