하이드로포밍 엔진 서브프레임의 동특성 개선 (Improvement on dynamic characteristics of hydroformed Engine Cradle with FEA)

  • Application of hydroforming technology for Engine Cradle has done much to reduce the weight of it. In most cases, hydroformed member of Engine Cradle is made in one-piece. And this method cause a limeted design that amount of expansion at the center portion of the member is not enough to meet the required performance. This limited design leads to decrease the dynamic characteristics of Engine Cradle. In this paper, comparative analyses of conventional stamped engine cradle and hydroformed cradle of one-piece were conducted using Normal Mode analysis and FRF(Frequancy Response Function)analysis. Finally, to improve the disadvantage mentioned above, hydroformed member of 3-pieces was proposed.

  • The Cradle(R) is specialized systems engineering tool that developed by 3SL(Structure Software System Limited) that has headquarters in U.K. and U.S.A.. It is recognized as the fastest growing Computer-Aided Systems Engineering Tool(CASE Tool). We built up requirements management database by using Cradle(R) on urban maglev program in Korea. So Cradle(R) provide a network function, is available accesses of clients in external organization that is associated on urban maglev program by the internet. However the network function of Cradle(R) require an opening of some a specific network ports and may causes a decreasing network speed. In this paper, we propose the method to establish an user environment of a requirements management database that overcome constraints on network condition.

다기능성을 가진 음성 인식 요람 연구 (Study on the multi-functional Cradle by Voice Recognitions)

  • 본 연구에서는 요람을 기존의 리모컨이나 수동으로 구동하는 방식과 달리 APP을 통하여 사람의 음성을 인식하면 모터로 동작하도록 요람을 제작하였다. 또한 요람에 온습도센서를 장착하여 실시간으로 요람의 온도와 습도를 LCD를 통해서 확인할 수 있고, 또한 소리크기에 따라 결과 값을 가지는 사운드센서를 이용하여 결과 값을 a, b, c로 지정하여 이 결과 값의 합이 1150을 넘으면 아기의 울음소리로 인식하여 APP에 알림표시와 알림음이 작동하도록 하는 기능을 가지는 요람을 제작하였다.

  • This study developed a responsive healthcare system that users can easily use in real life to prevent turtle neck syndrome by posture correction. We propose a system that naturally induces direct posture improvement by adjusting the height with a responsive cradle through a turtle neck discrimination algorithm detecting the turtle neck posture in real time using a webcam. The turtle neck algorithm was developed based on machine learning, using the points that the distance relationship between the jaw line and the shoulder varies depending on the posture. For the younger age group, which is particularly problematic due to the increase in the use of IT devices, image data in different situations according to the height and posture of the cradle was collected and learned as a support vector machine classifier. In addition, a height-adjustable cradle that can support a laptop has been created and expanded into a responsive cradle that can be controlled with software by interlocking with the Arduino. Therefore, this service enables posture correction of many modern people suffering from turtle neck syndrome and will become an essential platform in the increasing online environment in the non-contact era.

  • In recent years, developments of light weight vehicle are one of the most important issues in automotive makers. New materials and new processes have been studied on the point of weight saving of chassis worldwide. Associated with materials, applications of high strength steel, aluminium, magnesium are being developed. On the point of new processes, tailored welded blank and hydroforming have been applied. In this paper, focusing to both material and process, we have applied hydroforming process to the engine cradle. In addition to that, three kinds of high strength steel have been applied to the development of light weight material for hydroforming. All the studies have been carried by FEM.

정밀 가공 장비를 위한 방진 시스템 설계 사례 (A Vibration Isolation System Design for a Vibration-sensitive Equipment)

  • In this study a vibration isolation system with the cradle-type support was designed so as to reduce the transient vibration due to positioning motion of the moving mass on worktable as well as to achieve the desired isolation efficiency on the floor vibration. The design procedure was performed in the two steps. The first step to select appropriate isolators to meet the isolation efficiency, and the second step is to reduce the transient vibration of the worktable by adopting the cradle-type support. After the application of the selected isolators with the cradle-type support to the system it was shown that the required vibration criterion(VC-D) was easily satisfied and that the undesirable transient vibration was reduced remarkably.

  • An engine cradle is a quite important structural assembly for supporting the engine, suspension and steering parts of vehicle and absorbing the vibrations during the drive and the shock in the car crash. Recently, the engine cradle having structural stiffness enough to support the surrounding parts and absorbing the shock of collision has been widely used. The hydroforming technology may cause many advantages to automotive applications in terms of better structural integrity of parts, reduction of production cost, weight reduction, material saving, reduction in the number of joining processes and improvement of reliability. We focus on increasing the durability and the dynamic performance of engine cradle. For realizing this objective, several optimization design techniques such as shape, size, and topology optimization are performed. This optimization scheme based on the sensitivity can provide distinguished performance improvement in using hydroforming.

  • Currently, selfie stick, a monopod take selfie photographs, got its popularity. Cradle used to connect selfie stick and smartphone usually uses electric force of spring to get smartphone fixed. But, using electric forces makes it hard to attach and detach smartphone from the cradle and gives possibility of smartphone falling down. CoQue suggests new solution of smartphone cradle by using cable tie (patent number US 8407863 B2) instead of electric force. It will give more easy and stable way of using selfie stick.

  • In this study new vibration isolation system was designed so as to decouple translational motion and rotational motion of a workstation as well as to maximize an efficiency of vibration isolation. Whole motion of the workstation as well as the transmitted vibration from the floor were compared at the two conditions; with and without the cradle system. It was shown that the cradle system had a clear effect to suppress the roiling motion of the workstation.
