Multi-hop relay networks have been widely considered as a promising solution to extend the coverage area and to reduce the deployment cost by deploying the relay stations (RSs) in mobile communication systems. Suitable deployment for the RSs is one of the most important features of the demand nodes (DNs) to obtain a high data transmission rate in such systems. Considering a tradeoff among the network throughput, the deployment budget, and the overall coverage of the systems, efficient RS deployment schemes and corresponding algorithms must be developed and designed. A novel cluster-based RS deployment scheme is proposed in this paper to select the appropriate deployment locations for the relay stations from the candidate positions. To make an ideal cluster distribution, the distances between the DNs are calculated when deploying the RSs. We take into account the traffic demands and adopt a uniform cluster concept to reduce the data transmission distances of the DNs. On the basis of the different candidate positions, the proposed scheme makes an adaptive decision for selecting the deployment sites of the RSs. A better network throughput and coverage ratio can be obtained by balancing the network load among the clusters. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the previously known schemes in terms of the network throughput and the coverage ratio. Additionally, a suitable deployment budget can be implemented in multi-hop relay networks.
This helps plus-size consumers purchase ready-made clothes and improves fitness by analyzing the upper body shapes of abdomen-obese adult males; in addition, it creates a size system based on each size interval of obesity shapes. The criteria for the 572 male subjects surveyed were over 25 kg/㎡ of the BMI, over 90 cm of waist, and over 0.85 waist hip ratio. The results were as follows. First, the higher the age group, the higher the degree of abdominal obesity in each age group. The degree of obesity decreases age increase; however, was the risk of abdominal obesity increased. Second, Compared to standard body types, the average body size of Abdomen-obese males is significantly larger, especially in the waist area than in the chest area. Third, to propose a size system for abdominal obese adult males, 16 sections with a final 2% rate of appearance were finally adopted as suit-tops size system for abdominal obese adult males by applying a 3 cm dimension gap between each designation as specified in the KS standard. The coverage ratio for the 16 sections was 72.6% and the coverage effienciency was 4.5%. The results of this study can be used in a various clothes; in addition, the activation and segmentation of the plus-size market are also believed to be significant.
Much recent attention on wireless technologies s put on topology-less wireless network, in which all nodes an be mobile and can communicate over wireless links, due to its ease of deployment, high flexibility and low expenses. One key in topology-less wireless network is mobile base stations (MBSs), which provides access points or mobile terminals (MTs) to wireless backbone network. MBSs can move to anywhere in accordance with changes in geographical distribution of MTs. They serve as dynamic odes. However, in order to utilize network resources and take full advantage of this topology-less network, MBSs must move to suitable position according to the current tate of network use. Moreover, MBSs have to consider the distance among them to avoid the crash and gap area of MBSs. Therefore, this paper proposes MBS movement algorithm by implementing push-pull method to fulfill the corporation of MBSs and considering the center of covered MTs or centroid to satisfy the MT coverage. From the simulation results, the proposed algorithm increases the performance of system when comparing with the centroid-based algoriom〔7〕, such as coverage area, MT coverage and call drops rate.
In this paper, we propose a two-stage base station (BS) sleeping scheme to save energy consumption in cellular networks. The BS sleeping mode is divided into a light sleeping stage and a deep sleeping stage according to whether there is a user in the BS's coverage. In the light sleeping stage, a BS will retain its coverage and frequently switch between the on state and the doze state according to the service characteristics. While in the deep sleeping stage analysis, the BS will shut down its coverage, and neighbor BSs will patch the coverage hole. Several closed-form formulas are derived to demonstrate the power consumption in each sleeping stage and the stage switching conditions are discussed to minimize the average power consumption. The average traffic delay caused by BS sleeping and the average deep sleeping rate under a given traffic load have also been studied. In addition, it is shown that BS sleeping is not always possible because of the limited quality of service (QoS) requirements. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively reduce the average BS power consumption, at the cost of some extra traffic delay. In summary, our proposed framework provides an essential understanding of the design of future green networks that aim to take full advantage of different stages of BS sleeping to obtain the best energy efficiency.
This study was carried out from January 1998 to December 1999 to report the revegetation of cutting-rock slopes and a design standard in the highway cut-slopes. The field data was collected from the 67 sites cutting-rock slopes of highways, local roads, and field test. As the result of analyze, cutting-rock slopes revegetation measures were 16 types. There were Vine planting(3 types), Hydroseeding measures with seed-fertilizer-soil materials(5 types), Vegetaion-base spraying measures(5 types), and Stability measures(3 types). The factors affecting the plant coverage rates of cutting-rock slopes were the slope gradient, the slope width and direction. The plant coverage rate decreases in the condition of steep slope and long slope width and length(height). In addition, the plant coverage rates of the westward and southward were lower than that of the northward and eastward. Most dominant species were Zoysia japonica, Lespedeza cyrtobotrya, Lespedeza cuneata, Rubus crataegifolius, Miscanthus sinensis, Arrundinella hirta, Themeda triandra, and Oenothera odorata. Exotic species were Eragrostis curvula(Weeping lovegrass), Dactylis glomerata Orchardgrass), Lolium perenne(Perennial ryegrass), and Festuca arundinacea(Tall fescue). It is recommended to adjust the proposed factor as environment, topsoil, classification of rock, field condition and characteristic related with revegetation measures on slopes for the presentation of revegetation standard.
This study was to make a effective seed mixture types with Korean native plants by researching te seed timing of suitable woody plants and competitive germination results of various plants for the purpose of cut-slotes revegetation. The results are summarized as follows. 1. In field polystand experiment, comparative among severalcomposition combination for early coverage shows good condition. 2. In combination for early-coverage, mixture of native woody plants only seeded in May and June shows over 90% coverage. It was not inferior to the other mixture types. So mixture of Albizzia Julibrissin, Cymbopogon doeringii, Alnus hirsuta and Indigfera pseudo-tinctoria is able to use to mixture type. 3.In case of combination for scenic beauty, Rhus chinensis shows low germination in the mixture for scenic beauty. But 90 days after seeded in May, it recorded maximum 44 cm height, seeded in June recorede 18 cm height. 4. Lespedeza crytobotrya shows good elongation in the combination for early coverage and scenic beauty, but that effects on elongation of other plants. So, it demands close investigation about suitable mixing rate of plants. 5. Alnus hirsuta, Pinus thunbergii, Betula platyphylla, Spiraea prunifolia var. simpliciflora have been rarely germinated. So, the mixture of these plants wasn't adequate to use for revegatation.
Objectives: Although compensation for occupational injuries and diseases is guaranteed in almost all nations, countries vary greatly with respect to how they organize workers' compensation systems. In this paper, we focus on three aspects of workers' compensation insurance in Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries - types of systems, employers' funding mechanisms, and coverage for injured workers - and their impacts on the actual frequencies of occupational injuries and diseases. Methods: We estimated a panel data fixed effect model with cross-country OECD and International Labor Organization data. We controlled for country fixed effects, relevant aggregate variables, and dummy variables representing the occupational accidents data source. Results: First, the use of a private insurance system is found to lower the occupational accidents. Second, the use of risk-based pricing for the payment of employer raises the occupational injuries and diseases. Finally, the wider the coverage of injured workers is, the less frequent the workplace accidents are. Conclusion: Private insurance system, fixed flat rate employers' funding mechanism, and higher coverage of compensation scheme are significantly and positively correlated with lower level of occupational accidents compared with the public insurance system, risk-based funding system, and lower coverage of compensation scheme.
Wetting agent is a substance that reduces the soil water repellency and causes a liquid to spread more easily into the soil. Wetting agents are well known as to improve irrigation efficiency. Phosphorus is one of the 17 essential nutrient elements and promote faster seed germination. The objective of this study was to evaluate wetting agent and P rates for fast germination and establishment of Kentucky bluegrass. Three levels of wetting agent which were 0.23, 0.46, and $0.92ml\;m^{-2}$ were applied and the P treatments were 5, 10, and $15g\;m^{-2}$. The medium and high rate of wetting agent at the high P rate had the greatest turfgrass coverage and took 28 days to reach 50% turfgrass coverage regardless of P application. Based on this study, wetting agent is effective for fast germination and establishment of Kentucky bluegrass if sufficient phosphorus is applied.

The low-rate (LR) UWB is a promising technology for the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) due to its extremely low power consumption and simple transceiver implementation. However the limited communication range is a bottleneck for its widespread use. This paper deals with a new frame structure of class 4 active RFID multi-hop relay system based on ISO/IEC 18000-7 standard integrating with IEEE 802.15.4a LR-UWB PHY layer specification, which sets up a connection to USN. As a result of the vital importance of the coverage and throughput in the application of USN, further we analyze the performance of the proposed system considered both impulse radio UWB (IR-UWB) and chirp spread spectrum (CSS). Our simulation results show that the coverage and throughput are remarkably increased.
The spraying status of the electrostatic sprayer was evaluated by processing surface spraying images of the natural leaves. Water solution of the fluorescent material was used as a spray medium. The image of the lights reflected by fluorescent droplets was captured under UV light using a color CCD camera. Coverage rate, particle density, and the size distribution of particles were analyzed from the surface images of leaves under various spraying conditions such as spraying nozzle angle and object distance. Spraying characteristics of the electrostatic sprayer was evaluated in comparison with the conventional one. In a case of electrostatic sprayer, coverage rate and particle density increased by the average of 1.57times and 1.01times respectively under various nozzle angles and distances. The number of particle under the diameter of 50 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ also increased significantly.
