A new method of numerical simulating prediction and decontamination effect evaluation for abrasive jet decontamination to radioactively contaminated metal is proposed. Based on the Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Model (CFD-DEM) coupled simulation model, the motion patterns and distribution of abrasives can be predicted, and the decontamination effect can be evaluated by image processing and recognition technology. The impact of three key parameters (impact distance, inlet pressure, abrasive mass flow rate) on the decontamination effect is revealed. Moreover, here are experiments of reliability verification to decontamination effect and numerical simulation methods that has been conducted. The results show that: 60Co and other homogeneous solid solution radioactive pollutants can be removed by abrasive jet, and the average removal rate of Co exceeds 80%. It is reliable for the proposed numerical simulation and evaluation method because of the well goodness of fit between predicted value and actual values: The predicted values and actual values of the abrasive distribution diameter are Ф57 and Ф55; the total coverage rate is 26.42% and 23.50%; the average impact velocity is 81.73 m/s and 78.00 m/s. Further analysis shows that the impact distance has a significant impact on the distribution of abrasive particles on the target surface, the coverage rate of the core area increases at first, and then decreases with the increase of the impact distance of the nozzle, which reach a maximum of 14.44% at 300 mm. It is recommended to set the impact distance around 300 mm, because at this time the core area coverage of the abrasive is the largest and the impact velocity is stable at the highest speed of 81.94 m/s. The impact of the nozzle inlet pressure on the decontamination effect mainly affects the impact kinetic energy of the abrasive and has little impact on the distribution. The greater the inlet pressure, the greater the impact kinetic energy, and the stronger the decontamination ability of the abrasive. But in return, the energy consumption is higher, too. For the decontamination of radioactively contaminated metals, it is recommended to set the inlet pressure of the nozzle at around 0.6 MPa. Because most of the Co elements can be removed under this pressure. Increasing the mass and flow of abrasives appropriately can enhance the decontamination effectiveness. The total mass of abrasives per unit decontamination area is suggested to be 50 g because the core area coverage rate of the abrasive is relatively large under this condition; and the nozzle wear extent is acceptable.

This study was conducted to improve the stability of cut slopes of forest roads in granitic weathered soil areas. The study area is a national forest road (road length 28.48 km) in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. After data collection, a statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS (Ver. 26.0). First, the correlation analysis showed that structure, slope position, soil erosion, slope, and aspect (N, S) were correlated with vegetation coverage (p < 0.05). Elapsed years, slope distance, and aspect (E, W) were found to have no correlation with vegetation coverage. (p > 0.05) Second, one-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis test results showed that vegetation coverage was worse when the slope was located at the top or the middle of the slope than at the bottom of the slope. In addition, the site with sheathing and gabions showed good vegetation coverage when compared with the site without structures. In the case of soil erosion, areas with severe damage and moderate damage showed worse vegetation coverage. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the slope angle of the cut soil of the granitic weathered soil area from 1 : 0.5 - 1.2 to 1 : 0.8 - 1.5. In addition, structures such as sheathing and gabions should be installed on granitic weathered land.
We consider the sensor location problem (SLP) on a given sensor field. We present the sensor field as grid of points. There are several types of sensors which have different detection ranges and costs. If a sensor is placed in some point, the points inside of its detection range can be covered. The coverage ratio decreases with distance. The problem we consider in this thesis is called multiple-type differential coverage sensor location problem (MDSLP). MDSLP is more realistic than SLP. The coverage quantities of points are different with their distance form sensor location in MDSLP. The objective of MDSLP is to minimize total sensor costs while covering every sensor field. This problem is known as NP-hard. We propose a new integer programming formulation of the problem. In comparison with the previous models, the new model has a smaller number of constraints and variables. This problem has symmetric structure in its solutions. This group is used for pruning in the branch-and-bound tree. We solved this problem by branch-and-cut(B&C) approach. We tested our algorithm on about 60 instances with varying sizes.
Purpose: There is active research that improves both reliability and fatigue life of structures which widely used in the aerospace fields of defense industry. The effects of three parameters (pressure, peening time, nozzle distance) on Almen intensity and coverage will be investigated by using the experimental and analyzed data. Methods: we employed a Box-Behnken design. Additionally, to verify the validity of the optimal condition obtained from experimental results, metallurgical analyses of the shot-peened aerospace part were conducted with respect to surface morphology, residual stress. Results: Optimal shot peening condition is determined as (distance, pressure, time) by optimizing simultaneously the two responses of intensity and coverage. At the optimal peening condition the prediction interval for Almen intensity is well within the required range. And, the validity of the condition was checked by using the real aerospace aluminum alloy plate. Conclusion: Shot peening introduces significant levels of compressive residual stress and induces improves both reliability and fatigue life of structures.
Extensive research has been conducted on supplier evaluation and selection as a strategic and crucial component of supply chain management in recent years. However, few articles in the previous literature have been dedicated to the use of fuzzy inference systems as an aid in decision-making. Therefore, this essay attempts to demonstrate the application of this method in evaluating suppliers, based on a comprehensive framework of qualitative and quantitative factors besides the effect of gradual coverage distance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of the numerous measures and metrics in a multi-objective optimization problem of the supply chain network design with the aim of managing the allocation of orders by coordinating the production lines to satisfy customers' demand. This work presents a dynamic non-linear programming model that examines the important aspects of the strategic planning of the manufacturing in supply chain. The effectiveness of the configured network is illustrated using a sample, following which an exact method is used to solve this multi-objective problem and confirm the validity of the model, and finally the results will be discussed and analyzed.
This paper presents a novel shore-to-sea maritime data transmission system based on time-code diversity, using visible light in maritime environments to overcome the limitations of conventional maritime wireless communications. The proposed system is primarily comprised of existing LED-based lighthouses and maritime transceivers (marine beacons, buoys, etc.), and thus is considered cost-effective in terms of implementation. We first analyze maritime visible-light communications on the basis of the unique properties of a maritime environment, i.e. sea states (wave height, wind speed, etc.), plus atmospheric turbulence, using the Pierson-Moskowitz (PM) and JONSWAP (JS) spectrum models. It is found that the JS model outperforms the PM model, and that the coverage distance depends on the LED power and sea states. To combat maritime fading conditions that significantly degrade performance and coverage distance, we propose a time-code diversity (TCD) scheme in which the delayed versions of the original data are retransmitted using orthogonal Walsh codes. This TCD scheme is found to be superior, in that it offers three orders of magnitude in terms of BER performance, compared to a conventional (non-TCD) transmission scheme. The proposed scheme is robust and efficient in overcoming the effect of impairments present in maritime environments with a BER of approximately $10^{-5}$and a data rate of 100 Kbps at a distance of 1 km.
The continuous change in the electronic band structure of metal-adsorbed bilayer graphene was calculated as a function of metal coverage using first-principles calculations. Instead of modifying the unit cell size as a function of metal coverage, the distance between the metal atoms and bilayer graphene in the same $2{\times}2$ unit unit cell was controlled to change the total charges transferred from the metal atoms to bilayer graphene. The validity of the theoretical method was confirmed by reproducing the continuous change in the electronic band structure of K-adsorbed epitaxial bilayer graphene, as shown by Ohta et al. [Science 313, 951 (2006)]. In addition, the changes in the electronic band structures of undoped, n-type, and p-type bilayer graphene were studied schematically as a function of metal coverage using the theoretical method.
