This study is for evaluating the fire resistance performance (1~2 h) of the RC Structure void slab using the Lightweight Hollow Sphere, which can reduce the unnecessary dynamic part of removing the central concrete. For this experiment, we set up depth of concrete cover, live load, and span length as the factors. The result comes out with all the slabs under those conditions can ensure the goal fire resistance performance (120 min). And among these factors, the resisting capability changes more sensitively with the live load rather than the thickness of cover. And the shorter span length could assure the better the fire resistance performance. The result observing the character in high temperature of the Lightweight Hollow Sphere which does not used as existing RC structure slab, a delay section in temperature change is occurred due to the Glass Transition in $100^{\circ}C$. And heat transfer by conduction does not occur at lightweight hollow sphere because the polystyrene in EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) melts point in $185^{\circ}C$. Therefore temperature at lightweight hollow sphere is lower than the concrete and rebar.

The PERC photovoltaic (PV) modules installed in PV power plant are still reports potential-induced degradation (PID) degradation due to high voltage potential differences. This is because Na+ ions in the cover glass of PV modules go through the encapsulant (EVA) and transferred to the surface of solar cells. As positive charges are accumulated at the ARC (SiOx/SiNx) interface where many defects are distributed, shunt-resistance (Rsh) is reduced. As a result, the leakage current is increased, and decrease in solar cell's power output. In this study, to prevent of this phenomenon, a Moth-eye nanostructure was deposited on the rear surface of an optical film using Nano-Imprint Lithography method, and a solar mini-module was constructed by inserting it between the cover glass and the EVA. To analyze the PID phenomenon, a cell-level PID acceleration test based on IEC 62804-1 standard was conducted. Also analyzed power output (Pmax), efficiency, and shunt resistance through Light I-V and Dark I-V. As a result, conventional solar cells were decreased by 6.3% from the initial efficiency of 19.76%, but the improved solar cells with the Moth-eye nanostructured optical film only decreased 0.6%, thereby preventing the PID phenomenon. As of Moth-eye nanostructured optical film, the transmittance was improved by 4%, and the solar module output was improved by 2.5%.
High-frequency induction is an efficient way to rapidly heat mold surface by electromagnetic induction. In the present work, high-frequency induction heating is applied to injection molding of a mobile phone cover in order to eliminate weldlines by efficiently raising the mold temperature. Through the induction heating experiments, the maximum temperature of $143^{\circ}C$ is obtained on the mold surface in 3s of heating, which is higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin material. An injection molding experiment is then performed with the aid of induction heating, from which we can successfully remove all the weldlines of the mobile phone cover. The effect of induction heating conditions such as the heating power and the heating time on the surface appearance is experimentally investigated.
To assess the performance and characteristics of colored building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules, a comparative assessment of empirical performance was conducted on colored BIPV modules (gray, blue, and orange) and general BIPV module. These modules were installed on the south-facing slope (30°) for comparative assessment through a field test. Monitoring data were collected every 10 min from December 20, 2019 to January 21, 2020 and used to performance and characteristics analysis. Performance ratio and module efficiency were utilized during performance indexing for comparative assessment. For general BIPV modules, the operational efficiency was analyzed at 16.63%, whereas for colored BIPV modules, 13.70% (gray), 15.12 % (blue), and 14.49% (orange) were analyzed. It was discovered that the efficiency reduction caused by transmission losses owing to the application of colored cover glasses were 17.74% (gray), 9.05% (blue), and 9.86 % (orange), under field testing conditions. These values turned on an additional 7% reduction in efficiency for gray BIPV modules, compared to the degradation resulting from transmission drop (gray: 10.87%, blue: 8.99%, and orange: 9.02%) calculated using the efficiency of each module in standard test conditions (STC). Performance ratio analysis resulted in the following values: 0.92 for general BIPV modules, and 0.85 (gray), 0.91 (blue), and 0.91 (orange) for colored BIPV modules. As demonstrated by the above results, modules with a colored cover glass may differ in their operational performance depending on their color, unlike general modules. Therefore, in addition to the performance evaluation under STC, additional factors of degradation require consideration through field test.

Functional coatings, such as anti-reflection and self-cleaning, are frequently applied to cover glass for photovoltaic applications. Anti-reflection coatings made of mesoporous silica film have been shown to enhance the light transmittance. $TiO_2$ photocatalyst films are often applied as a self-cleaning coating. In this study, transparent hydrophobic anti-reflective and self-cleaning coatings made of $SiO_2/TiO_2$ thin layers were fabricated on a slide glass substrate by the sol-gel and dip-coating processes. The morphology of the functional coatings was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The optical properties of the functional coatings were investigated using an UV-visible spectrophotometer. Contact angle measurements were performed to confirm the hydrophobicity of the surface. The results showed that the $TiO_2$ films exhibit a high transmittance comparable to that of the bare slide glass substrate. The $TiO_2$ nanoparticles make the film more reflective and lead to a lower transmittance. However, the transmittance of the $SiO_2/TiO_2$ thin layers is 93.5% at 550 nm with a contact angle of $110^{\circ}$, which is higher than that of the bare slide glass (2.0%).

The cover glass of mobile displays and photovoltaic cells needs a functional coating, such as an anti-reflection and self-cleaning coating. Numerous studies have been conducted on the engineering application of biomimetic functional surfaces, such as moth eye and lotus leaf Anti-reflection coantings of silica nanoparticles could enhance the light transmittance. $TiO_2$ photocatalyst coatings have been applied to self-cleaning functional films. In this study, transparent hydrophobic anti-reflective coatings consisting of thin layers of $SiO_2/TiO_2$ nanoparticles were fabricated on a slide glass substrate by the sol-gel process and dip-coating process. The dependence of the surface morphology of the functional coatings was investigated by the atomic force microscopy (AFM), contact angle measurement, and UV-visible spectroscopy. It was found that the coating of $TiO_2$ nanoparticles exhibited a high average transmittance comparable to that of the bare slide glass substrate in the visible light range. The bi-layered functional coating of 7 nm $SiO_2$/7nm $TiO_2$ nanoparticles exhibits a transparent hydrophobic surface with a contact angle of $110^{\circ}$ and an improvement of the average transmittance of 2.3% compared to the bare slide glass substrate in the visible light range.

Ultra-thin glass (UTG) has been widely used in foldable display as a cover window for the protection of display and has a great potential for rollable display and various flexible electronics. The foldable display is under impact loading by bending and touch pen and exposed to other external impact loads such as drop while people are using it. These external impact loads can cause cracks or fracture to UTG because it is very thin under 100 ㎛ as well as brittle. Cracking and fracture lead to severe reliability problems for foldable smartphone. Thus, this study constructs finite element analysis (FEA) model for the pen drop test which can measure the impact resistance of UTG and conducts mechanical modeling to improve the reliability of UTG under impact loading. When a protective layer is placed to an upper layer or lower layer of UTG layer, stress mechanism which is applied to the UTG layer by pen drop is analyzed and an optimized structure is suggested for reliability improvement of UTG layer. Furthermore, maximum principal stress values applied at the UTG layer are analyzed according to pen drop height to obtain maximum pen drop height based on the strength of UTG.

The use of glass-fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars in reinforced concrete (RC) structures has emerged as an alternative to traditional RC due to the corrosion of steel in aggressive environments. Although the number of analytical and experimental studies on RC beams with GFRP reinforcement has increased in recent decades, it is still lower than the number of such studies related to steel RC structures. This paper presents the experimental moment deflection relations of GFRP reinforced beam which are spliced. Test variables were different reinforcement ratio and cover thickness of GFRP rebars. Seven concrete beams reinforced with steel GFRP re-Bars were tested. All the specimens had a span of 4000mm, provided with 12.7mm nominal diameter steel and GFRP rebars. All test specimens were tested under 2-point loads so that the spliced region be subject to constant moment. The experimental results show that the ultimate moment capacity of beam increasing of the reinforcement ratio. Failure mode of these specimens was sensitively vary according to the reinforcement ratio. The change of beam effective depth, which was caused by cover thickness variation, controlled the maximum strength and deflection because of cover spalling in tension face.
Membrane disruption by an antimicrobial peptide, protegrin-1 (PG-1), was investigated by measuring the $^2H$ solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) spectra of 1-palmitoyl-$d_{31}$-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (POPC_$d_{31}$) in the mixture of PG-1 and POPC_$d_{31}$ lipids deposited on thin cover-glass plates. The experimental line shapes of anisotropic $^2H$ SSNMR spectra measured at various peptide-to-lipid (P/L) ratios were simulated reasonably by assuming the mosaic spread of bilayers containing pore structures or the coexistence of the mosaic spread of bilayers and a fast-tumbling isotropic phase. Within a few days of incubation in the hydration chamber, the pores were formed by the peptide in the POPC_$d_{31}$ and POPC_$d_{31}$/cholesterol membranes. However, the formation of the pores was not clear in the POPC_$d_{31}$/1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylglycerol (POPG) membrane. Over a hundred days after hydration, a rapidly rotating isotropic phase increased in the POPC_$d_{31}$ and the POPC_$d_{31}$/cholesterol membranes with the higher P/L ratios, but no isotropic phase appeared in the POPC_$d_{31}$/POPG membrane. Cholesterol added in the POPC bilayer acted as a stabilizer of the pore structure and suppressed the formation of a fast-tumbling isotropic phase.
Membrane disruption by an antimicrobial peptide (AMP) was investigated by measuring the $^2H$ solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of 1-palmitoyl-$d_{31}$-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (POPC_$d_{31}$) in mixtures of POPC_$d_{31}$/cholesterol and either magainin 2 or aurein 3.3 deposited on thin cover-glass plates. The line shapes of the experimental $^2H$ solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) spectra were best simulated by assuming the coexistence of a mosaic spread of bilayers containing pore structures and a fasttumbling isotropic phase or a hexagonal phase. Within a few days of incubation in a hydration chamber, an isotropic phase and a pore structure were induced by magainin 2, while in case of aurein 3.3 only an isotopic phase was induced in the presence of a bilayer phase. After an incubation period of over 100 days, alignment of the bilayers increased and the amount of the pore structure decreased in case of magainin 2. In contrast with magainin 2, aurein 3.3 induced a hexagonal phase at the peptide-to-lipid ratio of 1/20 and, interestingly, cholesterol was not found in the hexagonal phase induced by aurein 3.3. The experimental results indicate that magainin 2 is more effective in disrupting lipid bilayers containing cholesterol than aurein 3.3.
