운량에 따른 태양열 시스템의 성능 분석에 관한 연구 (Study on the Performance Analysis of Solar Heating System with Cloud Cover)

  • In this study, the performance of solar assisted hybrid heat pump system with cloud cover were analyzed by using experimental method in spring season. It was consisted of concentric evacuated tube solar collector, heat medium tank, heat storage tank, heat pump, and so on. As a result, the solar radiation should be maintained over $4.1\;MJ/m^2$ in order to operate solar heating system for heating. Solar heat of collector wasn't affected by ambient temperature, but cloud cover has a big effect to collector efficiency. In addition, the collector efficiency is about 50-60%, and solar fraction is 40% for this system.

Contribution to the Development of Global Land Related Dataset from Asia

  • Global land related datasets such as land use, land cover, vegetation cover percentage, forest cover percentage, are part of important global geospatial environmental datasets for global change studies. Since land cover varies place by place, continental production of dataset is a usual approach. Western academically developed countries have some projects to describe land cover related information in digital form using remote sensing technology in African, American continent and Oceania. In this paper, the author introduce his initiative to coordinate Asian scientists in order to develop land related dataset of Asia for our better understanding of the environment of Asia and for contribution to the development of global dataset. This paper explains activities by Land Cover Working Group (LCWG) of the Asian Association on Remote Sensing(AARS), Data and Information System(DIS) sub-committee of Japan national committee for the International Geosphere and Biosphere Program(IGBP), and the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing(ISPRS) Working Group IV/6 on Global databases supporting environmental monitoring.

연안지역 특성에 따른 상세 토지피복도 적용 효과 및 기상장에 미치는 영향 분석 (The Application of High-resolution Land Cover and Its Effects on Near-surface Meteorological Fields in Two Different Coastal Areas)

  • In this study, the effects of high-resolution land cover on the simulation of near-surface meteorological fields were evaluated in two different coastal regions using Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. These analyses were performed using the middle classification land cover data upgraded by the Korean Ministry of Environment (KME). For the purpose of this study, two coastal areas were selected as follows: (1) the southwestern coastal (SWC) region characterized by complex shoreline and (2) the eastern coastal (EC) region described a high mountain and a simple coastline. The result showed that the application of high-resolution land cover were found to be notably distinguished between the SWC and EC regions. The land cover improvement has contributed to generate the realistic complex coastline and the distribution of small islands in the SWC region and the expansion of urban and built-up land along the sea front in the EC region, respectively. The model study indicated that the improvement of land cover caused a temperature change on wide areas of inland and nearby sea for the SWC region, and narrow areas along the coastal line for the EC region. These temperature variations in the two regions resulted in a decrease and an increase in land-breeze and sea-breeze intensity, respectively (especially the SWC region). Interestingly, the improvement of land cover can contribute large enough to change wind distributions over the sea in coastal areas.

NOAA AVHRR 영상 및 GIS 기법을 이용한 국내 5대강 유역의 융설 매개변수 추출 (Extraction of Snowmelt Parameters using NOAA AVHRR and GIS Technique for 5 River Basins in South Korea)

  • 융설 모형의 중요 매개변수인 적설분포면적은 실제 우리나라에서 적설과 관련한 관측 자료의 부족으로 인해 매개변수 추정이 어렵다. 이러한 문제점 해결을 위해 원격탐사기법을 활용하여 적설분포면적을 추출하였다. 본 연구에서는 1997년부터 2006년까지의 겨울철 NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)의 AVHRR(Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) 위성영상의 8 sets의 총 108개 영상을 이용하여 적설분포면적을 추출하였고, 기상청의 지상기상관측소의 최심적설심 자료를 이용하여 GIS 자료를 구축함으로써 적설심의 공간적 분포를 추출하였다. 이를 국내 5대유역인 한강, 낙동강, 금강, 영산강, 섬진강 유역에 대하여 융설모형의 주요 매개변수인 적설분포면적, 유역 평균, 최대 적설심과 적설분포감소비곡선을 구축하였다. 그 중 적설분포면적감소곡선 (SDC : Snow cover Depletion Curve)는 적설분포면적의 감소형태를 나타내주는 지표로써 융설의 가장 민감한 매개변수이다. 이를 국내 5대강 유역에 대해 구축하여 정량화하였다.

  • Structural analysis of automotive engine cover under vibration excitation is performed by finite element analysis (FEA) in order to identify the critical area of the structure. Assembly load due to the tightening of the bolts as well as the vibration excitation were considered to describe the actual loading condition. Natural frequencies of the system were extracted considering the damping effect of the structure. Dynamic analysis was performed based on the extracted natural frequency of the system. Experimental modal analysis (EMA) and measurement of strains were performed to verify the results of the analysis. Analysis results correlated closely with the experimental results. Analysis and experiments showed that contribution of the assembly load should not be ignored to predict the structural failure of the engine cover.

An Adjustment for a Regional Incongruity in Global land Cover Map: case of Korea

  • The Global Land Cover 2000 (GLC 200) project, as a most recent issue, is to provide for the year 2000 a harmonized land cover database over the whole globe. The classifications were performed according to continental or regional scales by corresponding organization using the data of VEGETATION sensor onboard the SPOT4 Satellite. Even if the global land cover classification for Asia provided by Chiba University showed a good accuracy in whole Asian area, some problems were detected in Korean region. Therefore, the construction of new land cover database over Korea is strongly required using more recent data set. The present study focuses on the development of a new upgraded land cover map at 1 km resolution over Korea considering the widely used K-means clustering, which is one of unsupervised classification technique using distance function for land surface pattern classification, and the principal components transformation. It is based on data sets from the Earth observing system SPOT4/VEGETATION. Newly classified land cover was compared with GLC 2000 for Korean peninsula to access how well classification performed using confusion matrix.

노년기 남성의 하반신 체형 분석 및 하의류 치수 체계 연구 (Analysis of Lower-body and Development of Suit-pants Size System for the Elderly Males)

  • This study established a lower garment sizing system for elderly men over 65 years of age based on 535 males selected from the 5th Korean Anthropometric survey. The results are as follows. Most elderly men body measurements were smaller for adult males (except for the waist area); however, abdominal obesity has changed to body type. The standard deviation was applied around the average values of waist circumference and hip circumference for the suggestion of a lower garment sizing system for elderly men. The interval between the designation was ${\pm}2.5cm$ with an average waist circumference of 86 cm and ${\pm}2cm$ with an average hip circumference of 92 cm. A total of 13 designation sections were established in consideration of the cover ratio and cover efficiency. The cover ratio in the 13 nominal sections was 77.2%. The segmental distribution rate presented in the results will also be useful for production planning in specific sizes and enable rational production.

세분류 토지피복지도 분류체계 개선방안 연구 - 환경부 토지피복지도를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Improvement of Sub-divided Land Cover Map Classification System - Based on the Land Cover Map by Ministry of Environment -)

  • 본 연구는 현재 환경부에서 제공하는 토지피복지도 중 세분류 토지피복지도의 분류체계를 개선하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 해외 토지피복지도 분류 항목을 중점 검토하였다. 둘째, 기존 세분류 분류체계를 적용하여 구축된 항목 당 면적비율을 분석하였다. 셋째, 실제 세분류 토지피복지도를 사용하는 사용자(전문가 및 일반인)을 대상으로 분류체계 개선에 대하여 설문조사를 수행하였다. 넷째, 최종적으로 기존 41개 분류체계를 33개 항목으로 개선하는 분류체계를 설정하였다. 다섯째, 설정된 토지피복 분류항목을 시범 적용하였으며, 기존 분류체계와 개선안에 따른 토지피복 분류 결과를 비교하였다. 연구대상지는 시가화 지역, 농경지등 다양한 지표특성을 지니고, 지형지물이 비교적 골고루 분포되어 있는 고양시 일산 지역을 대상으로 하였다. 연구에 사용된 기본 영상은 국토지리정보원에서 촬영하고 있는 0.25 m 급 정사항공영상이며, 관련 참조자료는 수치지형도, 정밀 임상도, 지적도, 행정구역도 등을 사용하였다. 개선된 분류체계를 시범지역에 적용한 결과 문화체육 휴양시설이 $1.84km^2$으로 분류되었으며, 이는 기존 분류체계 면적대비 약 2배 이상 증가한 것이다. 기타 교통통신시설 및 교육행정시설 등은 분류되지 않았다. 본 연구결과는 향후 세분류 토지피복지지도 구축과 갱신의 효율성과 실질적인 사용자 수요를 반영하였다는데 의의가 있다.

봄철 태양열 하이브리드 시스템의 성능특성 연구 (Study on the Performance Characteristics of Hybrid Solar Heating System during Spring Season)

  • An experimental study was carried out to investigate performance characteristics of the hybrid solar system during spring season. The system operating condition, each load, and heat pump performance were analyzed with the cloud cover. As a results, the collector heat, solar fraction, and hot water load were decreased with a rise of the cloud. The heating load was considerably effected by the ambient temperature regardless of the cloud cover. Besides, the temperature of hot water increased with the solar radiation. The COP of the heat pump was significantly influenced by the ambient temperature, that was 2.09~2.46 for gray day and 1.94~2.71 for fair day, respectively.

  • Engineered barrier test facility is specially designed to demonstrate the performance of engineered barrier system for the near-surface disposal facility under the domestic environmental conditions. Comprehensive measurement systems for the water content, temperature, matric potential are installed within each test cell. In this study, short-term monitoring of the behavior of multi-layered cover system is implemented with artificial rainfall system. The periodic measurement data are collected and analyzed by a dedicated database management system, and provide a basis for performance verification of the disposal cover design.
