SIR을 이용한 평행결합 선로의 소형 광대역 대역통과 필터 (Compact Broad Band-pass Filter of Parallel Coupled Structure with SIR)

  • 본 논문은 평행결합 선로의 구조를 갖는 크기가 작아진 광대역 대역통과 필터로서 커플링 계수에 따라 협대역에서 광대역까지 자유롭게 조절이 가능하도록 제안하였다. 기존의 필터는 구조의 특성상 협대역으로만 동작이 가능한데, 만일 그 이상의 대역폭을 요구하게 된다면 급전선로와 공진기 사이의 커플링 양으로 인해 실제의 구현이 어렵다는 단점을 갖게 된다. 이러한 단점을 극복하고 새로운 방법을 도입했을 때 제안한 필터는 SIR 구조와 헤어핀(hair-pin)의 U-형태 개방형 스터브 그리고 세로 형태의 구조를 적용하여 기존의 필터 보다 크기가 작아짐은 물론 커플링 계수에 따라 대역폭의 조절이 자유롭다는 특징을 갖게 된다. 본 논문에서 최종 제시한 필터는 광대역 필터의 결과로서 중성 주파수 5.8 GHz에서 대역폭 60 %, 그리고 삽입손실과 반사손실은 각각 0.42 dB 및 24.5 dB의 결과 값들을 얻었다.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using communications, sensors, and navigation equipment will play a key role in future warfare. Currently, UAVs are monitored to prevent misfire and accidents, and the conventional method adopted uses wires for data transmission and power supply. The repeated connection and disconnection of cables increases maintenance time and harms the connector. For convenience and stability, a wireless power transfer system to power UAVs is needed. Unlike other wireless power transfer (WPT) applications, the size of the receiving coils must be small, so that the WPT systems can be embedded inside space-limited UAVs. The small size reduces the coupling coefficient and transfer efficiency between the transmitting and the receiving coils. In this study, we propose a toroidal-shaped coil for a WPT system for UAVs with high coupling coefficient with minimum space requirements. For validation, conventional coils and the proposed toroidal-shaped coil were used and their coupling coefficient and power transfer efficiency were compared using simulated and measured results. The simulated and measured results were strongly correlated, confirming that the proposed WPT system significantly improved efficiency with negligible change in the space requirement.

Small-Size and High-Isolation MIMO Antenna for WLAN

  • A small-sized ($15mm{\times}30mm$) planar monopole MIMO antenna that offers high-isolation performance is presented in this letter. The antenna is miniaturized using inductive coupling within a meander-line radiator and capacitive coupling between a radiator and an isolator. High isolation is achieved by a T-shaped stub attached to the ground plane between two radiators, which also contributes to the small size using a folded structure and the capacitive coupling with radiators. The proposed antenna operates for the WLAN band within 2.4 GHz to 2.483 GHz. The measured isolation (S21) is about -30 dB, and the envelope correlation coefficient is less than 0.1.

  • This paper proposes the calculation method of magnetic coupling coefficient of the contactless energy transmission system by 3D finite element method with a variation of the secondary core positions. The primary, secondary self and leakage inductances and the capacitances of a resonant circuit are calculated by the finite element analysis results. From these values, the magnetic coupling coefficients are obtained. The secondary voltages and currents according to the secondary core positions are calculated by using the resonant circuit and compared.

  • The objective of this paper is to perform measurements of power transmission and reflection coefficients in a coupled plate. The coupled plate has been divided into 2 subsystems. The out-of-plane vibration has been only considered with assumption of relatively small in-plane vibration. The coupling loss factors have been measured with consideration of the power balance condition. The power transmission and reflection coefficients has been estimated from the measured values of the coupling loss factors. The measured power transmission and reflection coefficients have been compared with the corresponding theoretical coefficients in a semi-infinite coupled plate.

  • A new method is presented to design RF filters without the Similarity Transform of their coupling coefficient matrix as circuit parameters which is very tedious due to pivoting and deciding rotation angles needed during the iterations. The transfer function of a filter is directly used for the design and its desired form is derived by the optimized rational-function fitting technique. A 3rd order Coaxial Lowpass filter and an 8th order dual-mode elliptic integral function response filter are taken as an example to validate the proposed method.

  • In this paper, a measurement method to obtain the optical properties of a liquid base on a side-polished single mode fiber was proposed and demonstrated. The device showed periodic resonance coupling against wavelengths. The refractive index and dispersion characteristics of a liquid were calculated by use of the spacings of periodic resonance wavelengths of the device. The thermo-optic coefficient of the liquid was obtained by monitering the shift of resonance wavelengths of the devices with change of environmental temperature.

  • Inductive power transfer module(IPTM) is a contact-less power supply device and its application range has been extended to the large capacity devices such as electric vehicles, industrial mover and railway system as well as small capacity devices such as electric toothbrush charger, celluar phone charger, and so on. For railway application, the IPTM will transfer energy while train stops at a station for around 30[sec]. Therefore, equivalent circuit parameters and coupling coefficient of IPTM are an important design factor for the high energy transfer efficiency. This paper investigates the properties of equivalent circuit parameters and coupling coefficient of U-U type IPTM and U-I type IPTM using an analytical method and experimental method. Considering the coupling coefficient of the U-U type is larger than U-I type's, the U-U type is suitable for an application which need maximum power transfer and high efficiency.

교차도파관 방향성결합기의 방향성 성능 개선 (Directivity compensation of crossed waveguide directional coupler)

  • 교차도파관 방향성결합기는 결합도가 증가함에 따라 방향성이 감소하는 특성을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 교차도파관 방향성결합기의 방향성을 향상시킬 수 있도록 X형 슬롯 쌍의 구조 변수를 수정하고, 그에 따른 관계식을 제안하였다. 그리고 K밴드 주파수 대역에서 그 관계식을 토대로 설계된 교차도파관 방향성결합기는 WR42 도파관을 사용하여 제작하였다. 측정한 결과 WR42 주파수 대역인 $18GHz{\sim}26.5GHz$에서 평균 결합도는 21.05dB, 방향성은 최소 23.9dB로 나타났다.

확장된 새로운 층 방법을 이용한 사다리꼴 회절격자의 결합계수 계산 (Calculation of the coupling coefficient for trapezoidal gratings using extended additional layer method)

  • 임의의 형태를 갖는 회절격자의 결합계수를 쉽게 계산할 수 있도록 확장된 새로운 층 방법을 제안한다. 기종이 새로운 층 방법은 회절격자 영역의 비유전상구의 종축 방향에 대해서만 평균을 취하여 결합계수를 계산하였지만 확장된 새로운 층 방법은 종축과 횡축 양 방향으로 비유전상수의 평균값을 취하여 새로운 층의 비유전상수로 설정하였다. 따라서 회절격자가 임의의 형태를 가지는 경우 새로운 층 방법에서는 새로이 설정하는 층의 비유전상수 값이 횡축으로 변화하는 함수였지만 확장된 새로운 층 방법에서는 단일 상수 값이어서 결합계수를 쉽계 계산할 수 있다. 이 방법을 사용하여 사다리꼴과 삼각형 형태의 회절격자를 가지는 5층 구조 Distributed Feedback 구조 소자의 결합계수를 계산하였다. 확장된 새로운 층 방법에 의한 결합계수 계산 결과의 정확성 검증을 통하여 사다리꼴과 같은 임의이 형태를 가지는 회절격자의 결합계수 계산에 확장된 새로운 층 방법이 매우 유용함을 보였다.
