트라우즐 연주시험과 수치해석에 의한 전색 매질별 발파효과 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on Blast Effects of Stemming Materials by Trauzl Lead Block Test and Numerical Analysis)

  • 트라우즐 연주시험은 폭발물의 영향을 측정하기 위한 방법 중 하나이다. 일정크기 연주기둥 중앙의 발파공 내부에서 폭발에 의한 용적 확대량을 측정하여 폭발력을 측정하는데 이용된다. 본 연구에서는 발파공 내부 폭약주변의 채움재에 따른 폭발영향을 비교분석하기 위하여 트라우즐 연주시험 및 AUTODYN 수치해석을 하였다. 사용폭약은 일반 에멀젼 폭약을 적용하였고, 디커플링 조건과 모래, 물, 젤라틴의 충전재를 선정하였다. 시험 및 수치해석 결과 연주블록 발파공의 확대 정도는 물과 젤라틴이 유사하였고, 모래, 디커플링 조건 순으로 확대치를 나타냈다. 또한 연주기둥 외곽에서 측정한 동적 변형률 및 수치해석 전달압력의 경우 시험결과와 상응하였고, 같은 양상을 확인할 수 있었다.

Large deflection behavior and stability of slender bars under self weight

  • In this paper the buckling and post-buckling behavior of slender bars under self-weight are studied. In order to study the post-buckling behavior of the bar, a geometrically exact formulation for the non-linear analysis of uni-directional structural elements is presented, considering arbitrary load distribution and boundary conditions. From this formulation one obtains a set of first-order coupled nonlinear equations which, together with the boundary conditions at the bar ends, form a two-point boundary value problem. This problem is solved by the simultaneous use of the Runge-Kutta integration scheme and the Newton-Raphson method. By virtue of a continuation algorithm, accurate solutions can be obtained for a variety of stability problems exhibiting either limit point or bifurcational-type buckling. Using this formulation, a detailed parametric analysis is conducted in order to study the buckling and post-buckling behavior of slender bars under self-weight, including the influence of boundary conditions on the stability and large deflection behavior of the bar. In order to evaluate the quality and accuracy of the results, an experimental analysis was conducted considering a clamped-free thin-walled metal bar. As this kind of structure presents a high index of slenderness, its answers could be affected by the introduction of conventional sensors. In this paper, an experimental methodology was developed, allowing the measurement of static or dynamic displacements without making contact with the structure, using digital image processing techniques. The proposed experimental procedure can be used to a wide class of problems involving large deflections and deformations. The experimental buckling and post-buckling behavior compared favorably with the theoretical and numerical results.

Evaluation of storage period of fresh ginseng for quality improvement of dried and red processed varieties

  • Background: Dried and red ginseng are well-known types of processed ginseng and are widely used as healthy food. The dried and red ginseng quality may vary with the storage period of raw ginseng. Therefore, herein, the effect of the storage period of fresh ginseng on processed ginseng quality was evaluated through multicomponent quantification with statistical analysis. Methods: A method based on ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry in multiple-reaction monitoring mode (UPLC-MRM-MS) was developed for quantitation of ginsenosides and oligosaccharides in dried and red ginseng. Principal component analysis and partial least squares discriminant analysis were conducted to evaluate the dynamic distributions of ginsenosides and oligosaccharides after different storage periods. Results: Eighteen PPD, PPT and OLE ginsenosides and nine reducing and nonreducing oligosaccharides were identified and quantified. With storage period extension, the ginsenoside content in the processed ginseng increased slightly in the first 2 weeks and decreased gradually in the following 9 weeks. The content of reducing oligosaccharides decreased continuously as storage time extending, while that of the nonreducing oligosaccharides increased. Chemical conversions occurred during storage, based on which potential chemical markers for the storage period evaluation of fresh ginseng were screened. Conclusion: According to ginsenoside and oligosaccharide distributions, it was found that the optimal storage period was 2 weeks and that the storage period of fresh ginseng should not exceed 4 weeks at 0 ℃. This study provides deep insights into the quality control of processed ginseng and comprehensive factors for storage of raw ginseng.

초고층건물의 성능평가를 위한 응답의존 시스템판별 및 모델향상 (Output-Only System Identification and Model Updating for Performance Evaluation of Tall Buildings)

  • 구조물에 고유한 진동수,모드형태 및 감쇠비 등과 같은 동적성능치를 추출하기 위하여 25층 및 42층 건물에 대하여 자연진동에 의한 동적계측실험을 수행하였다. 고려된 건물은 주요 횡하중 지지기구로서 코아벽체 혹은 전단벽체가 추가된 철근콘크리트건물이며, 입면 혹은 평면상으로 골조가 혼합된 구조형식을 나타낸다. 특히, 25층 건물은 측면에 위치한 코아벽체 이외에 상부로부터 내려오는 전단벽 구조가 4층 바닥이하에서 골조형식으로 전환되는 복잡한 구조이다. 이와 같은 이유 및 건물 주방향의 유사한 강성배치로 매우 근접하고 혼합된 모드형태가 예상되어 시스템판별 시 어려움이 예상된다. 현재까지 개발된 다양한 시스템판별법을 대상건물의 자연진동 실측기록에 적용하여 모달계수를 유도하였으며, 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 3개의 주파수영역 및 4개의 시간영역에 근거한 응답의존 시스템판별법이 고려되었다. 서로 다른 시스템판별법에 의하여 추출된 고유진동수 및 감쇠비는 대체로 상당한 일치를 보였으나, 모드형태는 사용된 방법에 따라 정도가 다르게 불일치를 나타냈다. 실험으로부터 추출한 성능치와 초기 유한요소해석 값을 비교해 본 결과 대상건물 모두 적어도 저차 3개의 고유진동수에서 2배 정도의 차이를 나타냈다. 실험과 해석결과의 일치를 위하여 몇몇 수동모델향상이 시도되었으며, 허용할 만한 결과를 획득하였다. 사용된 시스템판별법에 대하여 각자의 장, 단점에 대하여 기술하였으며, 본 연구와 같은 실제 대형구조물에 대하여 자동모델향상기법을 적용할 시 예상되는 문제점에 대하여 토의하였다.

미세조직 변화를 고려한 대형 배기밸브 스핀들 제조공정 해석 (A Manufacturing Process analysis of Large Exhaust Valve Spindle considering Microstructure Evolution)

  • The microstructure evolution in hot forging process is composed of dynamic recrystallization during deformation as well as grain growth during dwell time. Therefore, the control of forging parameters such as strain, strain rate. temperature and holding time is important because the microstructure change in hot working affects the mechanical properties. Modeling equations are developed to represent the flow curve. grain size. recrystallized volume fraction and grain growth phenomena by various tests. The developed modeling equations were combined with thermo-viscoplastic finite element modeling to predict the microstructure change evolution during hot forging process. The large exhaust valve spindle (head diameter of 512mm) was simulated by closed die forging with hydraulic press and cooled in air after forging. The preform was heated to each 1080 and 1150$^{\circ}C$. Numerical calculation was performed by DEFORM-2D. a commercial finite element code. Heat transfer can be coupled with the deformation analysis in a non-isothermal deformation analysis. In order to obtain the fine and homogeneous microstructure and good mechanical properties in forging. the FEM would become a useful tool in the simulation of the microstructure development. In forging, appropriate temperature, strain and strain rate and rapid cooling are required to obtain the fine grain microstructure The optimal forging temperature and effective strain range of Nimonic 80A for large exhaust valve spindle are about 1080$\∼$l120$^{\circ}C$ and 150$\∼$200$\%$.

MOUSE TRAP 모델을 이용한 하수관거내 수질변화 예측 (Estimation of Water Quality Variation in Sewer Network using MOUSE TRAP Model)

  • One of the major problems associated with operation of domestic sewer lines involves hydraulic problems such as insufficient conveyance capacity, exceeding maximum velocity, and deficiency of minimum velocity. It has also been pointed out that influent concentration lower than design concentration of pollutants, which is mainly caused by unidentified inflow and infiltration, degrades the operational efficiency of many sewage treatment plants (STPs). A computer-added analysis method supporting a coupled simulation of sewage quality and quantity is essentially required to evaluate the status of existing STPs and to improve their efficiency by a proper sewer rehabilitation work. In this study, dynamic water quality simulations were conducted using MOUSE TRAP to investigate the principal parameters that governs the changes of BOD, ${NH_4}^+$, and ${PO_4}^{3-}$3- concentrations within the sewer networks based on data acquired through on-site and laboratory measurements. The BOD, ${NH_4}^+$ and ${PO_4}^{3-}$3- concentrations estimated by MOUSE TRAP was lower than theoretical pollution loads because of sedimentation and decomposition in the sewer. The results revealed that sedimentation is a most important factor than other biological reactions in decreasing pollutant load in the sewers of C-city. The sensitivity analysis of parameters pertaining to water quality changes indicated that the effect of the BOD decay rate, the initial DO concentration, the half-saturation coefficient of dissolved BOD, and the initial sediment depth is marginal. However, the influence of settling rate and temperature is relatively high because sedimentation and precipitation, rather than biological degradation, are dominant processes that affect water quality in the study sewer systems.

  • 무한 길이를 가진 도파관 구조물에 유한 길이를 가진 구조물이 결합되어 있는 경우, 결합된 구조물의 응답을 수치해석으로 구하기 위해서는 파동 방법과 모드 방법을 함께 적용하여 해석하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 무한 길이 도파관구조물에 대해서는 파수유한요소법을, 유한 길이 구조물에 대해서는 유한요소법을 적용하여 결합 지점에서의 각 하부 구조물 임피던스 또는 모빌리티를 구하고 이를 연성하여 전체 구조물의 응답을 해석하는 방법에 대하여 다루었다. 해석 대상 구조물로는 내부에 사각 평판 구조물이 네 꼭지점에서 결합되어 있는 무한 길이 원통형 실린더를 선정하였으며, 네 결합지점이 강결합 또는 탄성마운트로 결합된 경우에 대하여 살펴보았다. 본 연구를 통해 임피던스 연성을 통한 파동 방법(파수유한요소법)과 모드 방법(유한요소법)의 결합이 적용 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 저가형 PC-클러스터 환경에서 운영 가능한 고속 병렬처리 기법을 활용하여 전기체 항공기 및 발사체 형상을 고려할 수 있는 천음속/초음속 비선형 플러터 해석시스템을 개발하였다. 이는 이론적으로 진보된 수치해석 기법인 전산구조동역학(CSD), 유한요소법(FEM) 및 전산유체역학(CFD) 기법을 동시에 연계하고 있으며, 각종 비행체의 공탄성안정성 설계 과정에서 공학적으로 매우 정밀한 데이터 제공이 가능하다. 개발된 공탄성 해석시스템의 뛰어난 응용성을 보이기 위해 국내에서 개발 중인 초음속 항공기의 전기체 형상에 대해 천음속/초음속 비선형 공탄성 해석을 수행하였다.

Dynamic analysis of long-span cable-stayed bridges under wind and traffic using aerodynamic coefficients considering aerodynamic interference

  • The aerodynamic characteristics of vehicles are critical to assess vehicle safety and passenger comfort for vehicles running on long span bridges in a windy environment. However, in previous wind-vehicle-bridge (WVB) system analysis, the aerodynamic interference between the vehicle and the bridge was seldom considered, which will result in changing aerodynamic coefficients. In this study, the aerodynamic coefficients of a high-sided truck on the ground (ground case) and a typical bridge deck (bridge deck case) are determined in a wind tunnel. The effects of existent structures including the bridge deck and bridge accessories on the high-sided vehicle's aerodynamic characteristics are investigated. A three-dimensional analytical framework of a fully coupled WVB system is then established based on the finite element method. By inputting the aerodynamic coefficients of both cases into the WVB system separately, the vehicle safety and passenger comfort are assessed, and the critical accidental wind speed for the truck on the bridge in a windy environment is derived. The differences in the bridge response between the windward case and the leeward case are also compared. The results show that the bridge deck and the accessories play a positive role in ensuring vehicle safety and improving passenger comfort, and the influence of aerodynamic interference on the response of the bridge is weak.

Seismic response of masonry infilled RC frames: practice-oriented models and open issues

  • Although it is widely accepted that the interaction -between masonry infill and structural members significantly affects the seismic response of reinforced concrete (RC) frames, this interaction is generally neglected in current design-oriented seismic analyses of structures. Moreover, the role of masonry infill is expected to be even more relevant in the case of existing frames designed only for gravitational loads, as infill walls can significantly modify both lateral strength and stiffness. However, the additional contribution to both strength and stiffness is often coupled to a modification of the global collapse mechanisms possibly resulting in brittle failure modes, generally related to irregular distributions of masonry walls throughout the frame. As a matter of principle, accurate modelling of masonry infill should be at least carried out by adopting nonlinear 2D elements. However, several practice-oriented proposals are currently available for modelling masonry infill through equivalent (nonlinear) strut elements. The present paper firstly outlines some of the well-established models currently available in the scientific literature for modelling infill panels in seismic analyses of RC frames. Then, a parametric analysis is carried out in order to demonstrate the consequences of considering such models in nonlinear static and dynamic analyses of existing RC structures. Two bay-frames with two-, three- and four-storeys are considered for performing nonlinear analyses aimed at investigating some critical aspects of modelling masonry infill and their effects on the structural response. Particularly, sensitivity analyses about specific parameters involved in the definition of the equivalent strut models, such as the constitutive force-displacement law of the panel, are proposed.
