  • The efficiency of internet lectures has been proved in many areas, and its significance and role theory has been consistently mentioned in the fields of furniture design education that demand a large amount of educational contents and practice in visual education. However, it reveals weaknesses without satisfying the demand owing to various realistic issues. In this study, the significance and developmental process of internet lecture as well as its effect after the development in terms of the education on furniture design were analyzed by counting some development cases of internet educational program in relation with AutoCAD educational course, a computer design program for furniture design. Also through such analysis, it intended to promote the development of design education by assessing the merits and problems, assignments to be supplemented, and utilization of the educational course development.

  • As a method to control the bacteria number in adequate level, a real time control system based on microscope image processing measurement for the bacteria is adopted. For the experiment, Ammonia-oxidizing bacteria such as Acinetobacter sp. are used. This paper proposed hybrid method combined watershed algorithm with adaptive automatic thresholding method to enhance segmentation efficiency of overlapped image. Experiments was done to show the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to traditional Otsu's method, Otsu's method with adaptive automatic thresholding method and human visual method.

  • An electrical signals of a conventional radiation medical imaging sensor are obtained by charge integration method. In this study, the polycrystalline cadmium telluride(p-CdTe) film was fabricated by a thermal evaporation method for the photon counting sensor development with excellent resolution in low exposure dose. From the fabricated p-CdTe sensor, the physical properties(SEM, XRD) and the electrical properties(leakage current, x-ray sensitivity, SNR) were evaluated. As a result, the leakage current of below $5nA/cm^2$ and $7{\mu}C/cm^2-R$ of the X-ray sensitivity were showed in below $1V/{\mu}m$. In addition, the signal to noise ratio showed the values of above 5000 at operating voltage.

  • A three stage impactor with the cutoff diameters of 1, 2.5, and 10$\mu\textrm{m}$ in aerodynamic diameter was developed and tested. The gravimetric method and the particle counting method were utilized to evaluate the collection performance of each stage. A vibrating orifice aerosol generator was employed to generate monodisperse test aerosols larger that 2$\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter. Polystyrene latex (PSL) particles smaller than 2$\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter were generated by an atomizer and the particle number concentration was measured by an Aerodynamic Particle Sizer Spectrometer. The experimental cutoff diameters obtained from the particle collection efficiency curves are in good agreement with the designed values. The square roots of Stokes number at 50% collection efficiency for stage 1, 2, and 3 are 0.42, 0.48, and 0.45, respectively. Effects of the particle bounce and the impaction plate on the collection efficiency were investigated. The collection efficiency curves including effect of the particle bounce were also compared with those of the MOUDI cascade impactor.

  • U-235 enrichment has been measured non-destructively by passive gamma-ray pulse height analysis. Measurement source is 185.7 keV gamma-ray which is emitted from uranium sample during alpha decay of U-235 in it. Factors influencing the measurement such as sample composition, attenuation effect of container wall, collimation effect and counting efficiency were evaluated. Under the optimized counting system, the measured relative errors were~8%, ~8% and~1% from Tag values at 95% confidence level for depleted UF$_{6}$ cylinders, depleted UO$_2$powder, and natural UO$_2$powder respectively.

  • Solid scintillation proximity membranes were prepared for measuring the amount of radioactivity in laboratories contaminated by the radionuclide of $^3H$-cortisol. The membranes, consisting of polysulfone as a polymer matrix and cerium activated yttrium silicate as a fluor, were used to monitor the amount of radioactivity without the aid of a scintillation cocktail required for the conventional wipe test. The test results of the cocktail-free wipe test showed that the prepared membranes were efficient to monitor radionuclide-contaminated areas with the good counting ability as well as with the decrease of overall production of radioactive waste. On the other hand, solvent treatment of the prepared membranes could induce a significant variation of membrane morphology, but the counting efficiency of the solvent-treated membranes was not improved than that of the untreated one.

  • Pulsed laser-based optical sensor monitoring systems for real time microplastic particle counting are proposed and developed in this study. To develop our real time monitoring system, we used a 450 nm pulsed laser and a photomultiplier with very high quantum efficiency. First, we demonstrated that the microplastic particle counting system could detect standard micro bead samples of 100, 250, and $500{\mu}m$ in river water. We then performed research concerning pulsed laser-based optical spectral sensor systems for real time microplastic monitoring. Additionally, we demonstrated that the real time microplastic remote monitoring system using LoRa communications could detect microplastic in the tap water resource protection area.

  • The importance of fast neutron detection for nuclear safeguards purposes has increased due to its potential advantages such as reasonable cost and higher precision for larger sample masses of nuclear materials. Pulse-shape discrimination (PSD) is inevitably used to discriminate neutron- and gamma-ray- induced signals from organic scintillators of very high gamma sensitivity. The light output (LO) threshold corresponding to several MeV of recoiled proton energy could be necessary to achieve fine PSD performance. However, this leads to neutron count losses and possible distortion of results obtained by neutron multiplicity counting (NMC)-based nuclear material accountancy (NMA). Moreover, conventional PSD techniques are not effective for counting of neutrons in a high-gamma-ray environment, even under a sufficiently high LO threshold. In the present work, PSD performance (figure-of-merit, FOM) according to LO bands was confirmed using a conventional charge comparison method (CCM) and compared with results obtained by convolution neural network (CNN)-based PSD algorithms. Also, it was attempted, for the first time ever, to reject fake neutron signals from distorted PSD regions where neutron-induced signals are normally detected. The overall results indicated that higher neutron detection efficiency with better accuracy could be achieved via CNN-based PSD algorithms.

  • Liposomal cephalexin was used m the dry period treatment of bovine mastitis due to Staphylococcus aureus. Liposomes were prepared by stable plurilamellar vesicle(SPLV) process. The shape and size of SPLVs were examined by transmission electron microscopy. The entrapping efficiency and stability of SPLVs were determined by high performance liquid chromatography or liquid scintillation counting. The size of SPLVs ranged from 0.1 to $4.01{\mu}m$ in diameter, with an entrapping efficiency of cephalexin of 25.8 %. The formulation of liposomal cephalexin was used for treatment were SPLV-entrapped cephalexin and free cephalexin with total cephalexin concentration of 250mg per quarters. All quarters were infused intramammarily at the end of lactation period by liposomal cephalexin, free cephalexin, or blank liposome with free cephalexin. The number of quarters cured by liposomal cephalexin(14/15 quarters, 93 %) was significantly higher than that by free cephalexin(7/15 quarters, 46%). or by blank liposome with free cephalexin(8/15 quarters, 53 % ) (p<0.05).
