VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a technology of transmitting and receiving voice and data over the Internet network. As the telecommunication industry is moving toward All-IP environment with growth of broadband Internet, the technology is becoming more important. Although the early VoIP services failed to gain popularity because of problems such as low QoS (Quality of Service) and inability to receive calls as the phone number could not be assigned, they are currently established as the alternative service to the conventional wired telephone due to low costs and active marketing by carriers. However, VoIP is vulnerable to eavesdropping and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack due to its nature of using the Internet. To counter the VoIP security threats efficiently, it is necessary to develop the criterion or the model for estimating the information security level of VoIP service providers. In this study, we developed reasonable security indicators through questionnaire study and statistical approach. To achieve this, we made use of 50 items from VoIP security checklists and verified the suitability and validity of the assessed items through Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) using SPSS 18.0. As a result, we drew 23 indicators and calculate the weight of each indicators using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The proposed indicators in this study will provide feasible and reliable data to the individual and enterprise VoIP users as well as the reference data for VoIP service providers to establish the information security policy.
The biosphere of the earth is not only about to overpass the limit to meet the food demand of the world but also the stability of its food production has been also jeopardized by the disasters and pests, especially by the unpredictable weather disasters. In addition the agricultural and industrial pollution against biosphere aggravates the unstability of agricultural production and constitutes a threat in securing the food of the world. In Korea the yield level of crops has been greatly enhanced by the improved agrotechnologies and varietal improvement, but the yield variability due to unfavorable weather events and pests remained unchanged with the change in time. Among weather-related disasters the drought and flood damages has occurred most frequently and impacted most greatly on the agricultural production and its stability. During last decade (1970-l980) the rice production experienced the average annual loss of 0.544 million metric ton which was composed of 0.21 million M/T by climatic disaster, 0.21 million M/T by disease and 0.12 million M/T by insects, and the annual loss of upland crop production from climatic disasters amounted to 0.06 million metric tons. Especially in 1980, the global climatic disasters due to cold or hot temperature endangered the agricultural production all over the world and also the rice production of Korea recorded the unprecedented yield reduction of about 30 percent due to cool summer weather. Nowadays, the unusual weather conditions are prevaling throughout the world, and agro-meteologists predict that the unpredictable cool summer and drought will often attack the rice and other crops in 1980's. To meet the coming weather unstability and to secure the stable crop production, multilateral efforts should be rendered. Therefore, the Korea Society of Crop Science, which commemorates the 20th anniversary of its founding, prepared the symposium on Meteological Stress in Crop Production and its Countermeasures to discuss the decrease in agricultural production due to weather-related disasters and to devise the multilateral counter-measures against the unfavorable weather events.
This study deals with micellar effects on dephosphorylation of diphenyl-4- nitrophenylphosphate (DPNPPH), diphenyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate (DPNPlN) and isopropylphenyl-4-nitrophenyl phosphinate (IPNPlN) mediated by $OH^\Theta$ or o-iodosobenzoate ion $(IB^\Theta)$ in aqueous and CTAX solutions. Dephosphorylation of DPNPPH, DPNPIN and IPNPIN mediated by $OH^\Theta$ or o-iodosobenzoate ion $(IB^\Theta)$ is relatively slow in aqueous solution. The reactions in CTAX micellar solutions are, however, much accelerated because CTAX micelles can accommodate both reactants in their Stem layer in which they can easily react, while hydrophilic $OH^\Theta\;(or\;IB^\Theta)$ and hydrophobic substrates are not mixed in water. Even though the concentrations $(>10^{-3}\;M)\;of\;OH^\Theta\;(or\;IB^\Theta)$ in CTAX solutions are much larger amounts than those $(6\times10^{-6}\;M)$ of substrates, the rate constants of the dephosphorylations are largely influenced by the change of concentration of the ions, which means that the reactions are not followed by the pseudo first order kinetics. In comparison to effect of the counter ions of CTAX in the reactions, CTACI is more effective on the dephosphorylation of substrates than CTABr due to easier expelling of $Cl^\Theta$ ion by $OH^\Theta\;(or\;IB^\Theta)$ ion from the micelle, because of easier solvation of $Cl^\Theta$ ion by water molecules. The reactivity of IPNPlN with $OH^\Theta\;(or\;IB^\Theta)$ is lower than that of DPNPlN. The reason seems that the 'bulky' isopropyl group of IPNPIN hinders the attack of the nucleophiles.
In wireless sensor networks, a node that reports information gathered from adjacent assets should relay packets appropriately so that its location context is kept private, and thereby helping ensure the security of the assets that are being monitored. Unfortunately, existing routing methods that counter the local eavesdropping-based tracing deal with a single asset, and most of them suffer from the packet-delivery latency as they prefer to take a separate path of many hops for each packet being sent. In this paper, we propose a routing method, greedy perimeter stateless routing-based source-location privacy with crew size w (GSLP-w), that enhances location privacy of the packet-originating node (i.e., active source) in the presence of multiple assets. GSLP-w is a hybrid method, in which the next-hop node is chosen in one of four modes, namely greedy, random, perimeter, and retreat modes. Random forwarding brings the path diversity, while greedy forwarding refrains from taking an excessively long path and leads to convergence to the destination. Perimeter routing makes detours that avoid the nodes near assets so that they cannot be located by an adversary tracing up the route path. We study the performance of GSLP-w with respect to crew size w (the number of packets being sent per path) and the number of sources. GSLP-w is compared with phantom routing-single path (PR-SP), which is a notable routing method for source-location privacy and our simulation results show that improvements from the point of the ratio of safety period and delivery latency become significant as the number of source nodes increases.

Ever since the network-based malicious code commonly known as a 'worm' surfaced in the early part of the 1980's, its prevalence has grown more and more. The RCS (Random Constant Spreading) worm has become a dominant, malicious virus in recent computer networking circles. The worm retards the availability of an overall network by exhausting resources such as CPU capacity, network peripherals and transfer bandwidth, causing damage to an uninfected system as well as an infected system. The generation and spreading cycle of these worms progress rapidly. The existing studies to counter malicious code have studied the Microscopic Model for detecting worm generation based on some specific pattern or sign of attack, thus preventing its spread by countering the worm directly on detection. However, due to zero-day threat actualization, rapid spreading of the RCS worm and reduction of survival time, securing a security model to ensure the survivability of the network became an urgent problem that the existing solution-oriented security measures did not address. This paper analyzes the recently studied efficient dynamic network. Essentially, this paper suggests a model that dynamically controls the RCS worm using the characteristics of Power-Law and depth distribution of the delivery node, which is commonly seen in preferential growth networks. Moreover, we suggest a model that dynamically controls the spread of the worm using information about the depth distribution of delivery. We also verified via simulation that the load for each node was minimized at an optimal depth to effectively restrain the spread of the worm.

The Bot is a kind of worm/virus that can be used to launch the distributed denial-of-service(DDoS) attacks or send massive amount of spam e-mails, etc. A lot of organizations make an effort to counter the Botnet's attacks. In Korea, we use DNS sinkhole system to protect from the Botnet's attack, while in Japan "so called" CCC(Cyber Clean Center) has been developed to protect from the Botnet's attacks. But in case of DNS sinkhole system, there is a problem since it cannot cure the Bot infected PCs themselves and in case of CCC there is a problem since only 30% of users with the Botnet-infected PCs can cooperate to cure themself. In this paper we propose a new method that prevent the Botnet's attacks and cure the Bot-infected PCs at the same time.
Due to the dazzling development of IT in this IT-oriented era, information delivering technology among objects, between objects and humans, and among humans has been actively performed. As information delivery technology has been actively performed, IoT became closely related to our daily lives and ubiquitous at any time and place. Therefore, IoT has become a part of our daily lives. CoAp, a web-based protocol, is mostly used in IoT environment. CoAp protocol is mostly used in the network where transmission speed is low along with the huge loss. Therefore, it is mostly used in IoT environment. However, there is a weakness on IoT that it is weak in security. If security issue occurs in IoT environment, there is a possibility for secret information of individuals or companies to be disclosed. If attackers infect the targeted device, and infected device accesses to the wireless frequently used in public areas, the relevant device sends arp spoofing to other devices in the network. Afterward, infected devices receive the packet sent by other devices in the network after occupying the packet flow in the internal network and send them to the designated hacker's server. This study suggests counter-attacks on this issues and a method of coping with them.
Countries across the globe, including those in Europe, are waging a "war against terrorism" as international terrorist groups such as ISIS and lone-wolf terrorists have unleashed various large-scale attacks on rail infrastructure. Anti-South Korean sentiment exists in Muslim-majority countries because the nation has cooperated with the US for its military interventions in the Middle East, and ISIS has threatened to target South Korea four times since September 9, 2015. In addition, North Korea has been left isolated in the international community with its missile and nuclear tests, while further escalating inter-Korean tension and threatening to strike major facilities and attack important figures in the South. These situations imply that South Korea is no longer immune to terrorist attacks. If the nation fails to prevent or deter such terrorist attacks against rail networks, massive casualties, property damage and social confusion would be unavoidable, deteriorating national and international trust in its counter-terrorism policies. This may lead to a national crisis involving decreases in the number of tourists, dampened interest of foreign investors, and capital flight. This study aims to propose policy measures to enhance railroad security checks, based on the work of railroad police officers, for the sake of protecting citizens and public safety. The suggestions include an incremental expansion of railroad security checks; growth of the railroad police force and adjustment of their policing distribution with other police officers; enhancement of security systems across important rail networks; improvement of the Railroad Safety Act; Southeast Asia, including the corresponding strengthening of the national crackdown illegal immigrants, and plans for pre-emptive and regular cooperation among organizations related to the promotion of security checks and the prevention of terrorist attacks.
this paper, a data modeling method based on decision-making conditions is proposed for making combat and battlefield management systems to be intelligent, which are also a decision-making support system. A picture of a robot seeing and perceiving like humans and arriving a point it wanted can be understood and be felt in body. However, we can't find an example of implementing a decision-making which is the most important element in human cognitive action. Although the agent arrives at a designated office instead of human, it doesn't support a decision of whether raising the market price is appropriate or doing a counter-attack is smart. After we reviewed a current situation and problem in control & command of military, in order to collect a big data for making a machine staff's advice to be possible, we propose a data modeling prototype based on decision-making conditions as a method to change a current control & command system. In addition, a decision-making tree method is applied as an example of the decision making that the reformed control & command system equipped with the proposed data modeling will do. This paper can contribute in giving us an insight of how a future AI decision-making staff approaches to us.
The purpose of this research paper is to re-valuate the factors that affected the Royal Navy's rearmament and preparation for war by conducting analysis on the discussion held in the Britain on the strategic priorities and Navy's coping measures adopted during the interwar period. After the end of the WWI, each of the military arms of the Britain faced significant difficulty in securing budget and increasing their military power all throughout the interwar period, and the Navy was not an exception. The WWII that got started on September 1939 was the turning point in which this difficulty led to full-fledged crisis. Immensely many criticisms followed after the war and problems were identified when it comes to the Royal Navy's performance during the war. This type of effort to identify problem led to the attempt to analyze whether Royal Navy's preparation for war and rearmament policy during interwar period were adequate, and to identify the root causes of failure. Existing studies sought to find the root cause of failed rearmament from external factors such as the deterioration of the Britain itself or pressure from the Treasury Department to cut the budget for national defense, or sought to detect problems from the development of wrong strategies by the Navy. However, Royal Navy's failed preparation for the war during interwar period is not the result of one or two separate factors. Instead, it resulted due to the diverse factors and situations that the Britain was facing at the time, and due to intricate and complex interaction of these factors. Meanwhile, this research paper focused on the context characterized by 'strategic selection and setting up of priorities' among the various factors to conduct analysis on the Navy's rearmament by linking it with the discussion held at the time on setting up strategic priorities, and sought to demonstrate that the Navy Department's inadequate counter-measures developed during this process waned Royal Navy's position. After the end of WWI, each of the military arms continued to compete for the limited resources and budget all throughout the interwar period, and this type of competition amidst the situation in which the economic situation of Britain was still unstable, made prioritization when it comes to the allocation of resources and setting up of the priorities when it comes to the military power build-up, inevitable. Amidst this situation, the RAF was able to secure resources first and foremost, encouraged by the conviction of some politicians who were affected by the 'theory of aerial threat' and who believed that curtailing potential attack with the Air Force would be means to secure national security at comparatively lower cost. In response, Navy successfully defended the need for the existence of Navy despite the advancement of the aerial power, by emphasizing that the Britain's livelihood depends on trade and on the maintenance of maritime traffic. Despite this counter-measuring logic, however, Navy's role was still limited to the defense of overseas territory and to the fleet run-off instead of sea traffic route production when it comes to the specific power build-up plan, and did not understand the situation in which financial and economic factors gained greater importance when it comes to the setting up of strategic priorities. As a result, Navy's plan to build its powers was met with continual resistance of the Treasury Department, and lost the opportunity to re-gain the status of 'senior service' that it had enjoyed in the past during the competition for strategic prioritization. Given that the strategic and economic situation that Korea faces today is not very different from that of the Britain during the interwar period, our Navy too should leverage the lessons learned from the Royal Navy to make the effort to secure viable position when it comes to the setting of priorities in case of national defense strategy by presenting the basis on why maritime coping should be prioritized among the numerous other threats, and by developing the measures for securing the powers needed effectively amidst the limited resources.
