One of the important things in low level radioactivity measurement is determination of the optimized counting time. Counting strategy has to be established, in order to count the radioactivity of the sample by condition of optimized measurement. There were three kinds of counting strategies in this report ; about fixed time, about fixed count, to compared sample, background, and reference level. The best of them was satisfied rendition to give about condition of instrument and process, as an example, efficiency of detector, counter capacity, maximum and average background count rate of counter, reference level and limit of derision and detection, etc. Therefore, we can decide the optimized counting time in the screening and monitoring. And we can save the time for courting the sample of course the data of count will be counted by optimized accuracy finally, in rountine measurement of radioactivity these strategies will be used available.
The stochastic origin ensembles method with resolution recovery (SOE-RR) has been proposed to reconstruct proton-induced prompt gammas (PGs), and the reconstructed PG image was used for range verification. However, due to low detection efficiency, the number of valid events is low. Such a low-count condition can degrade the accuracy of the SOE-RR method for proton range verification. In this study, we proposed two strategies to improve the reconstruction of the SOE-RR algorithm for low-count PG imaging. We also studied the number of iterations and repetitions required to achieve reliable range verification. We simulated a proton beam (108 protons) irradiated on a water phantom and used a two-layer Compton camera to detect 4.44-MeV PGs. Our simulated results show that combining the SOE-RR algorithm with restricted volume (SOE-RR-RV) can reduce the error of the estimation of the Bragg peak position from 5.0 mm to 2.5 mm. We also found that the SOE-RR-RV algorithm initialized using a back-projection image could improve the convergence rate while maintaining accurate range verification. Finally, we observed that the improved SOE-RR algorithm set for 60,000 iterations and 25 repetitions could provide reliable PG images. Based on the proposed reconstruction strategies, the SOE-RR algorithm has the potential to achieve a positioning error of 2.5 mm for low-count PG imaging.
Although various methods for determination of damage threshold in rock have been suggested, clear damage thresholds were determined by some methods, but different thresholds were measured by other methods. We determined the damage thresholds in Hangdeung granite using all the methods suggested, and investigated the best methods, applicability and errors of each method. The crack initiation threshold and the crack damage threshold which are important in investigation of characteristics of crack development and failure were verified by field strength ratio method and long-term constant load test. The crack closure stress and the crack initiation stress were 57.5 MPa and 77.6 MPa, and the most exact values were yielded by crack volumetric strain. The secondary crack initiation stress was 90.6 MPa and AE event count and AE event count rate were the effective methods. The volumetric stiffness, AE event count and AE event count rate were the most effective methods for determination of crack coalescence threshold and crack coalescence stress was 110.3 MPa. The crack damage stress was 127.5 MPa and was measured correctly by volumetric stiffness and AE event count rate. The ratio between crack initiation stress and uniaxial compressive strength was 0.47 which was very similar with the FSR value of 0.46. The ratio between crack damage stress and uniaxial compressive strength was almost the same as the ratio between long-term strength and uniaxial compressive strength, indicating that the crack initiation stress and the crack damage stress measured were correct.

This paper has proposed Message Count Control Mechanism based Link State Update(LSU) Algorithm that has not had a strong influence on the depreciation of QoS routing performance. Most existing LSU algorithms have the limit that cannot control the count of LSU message. Especially, adaptive algorithms have a bad performance when traffic are excessive and fickle. We classify as the importance of LSU message that have a influence on available bandwidth and determine the transmission of the message according to update rate per a unit of time. We have evaluated the performance of the proposed model and the existing algorithms on MCI simulation network using the performance metric as the QoS routing blocking rate and the mean update rate per link, it thus appears that we have verified the performance of this algorithm.
Growth of Bacillus cereus was assessed during the storage of seasoned soybean sprouts at 0,5, 10, and $15^{\circ}C$. No lag time in its growth curve was observed and thus the specific growth rate of B. cereus in the exponential growth phase was estimated for bootstrapped microbial count data. The distribution of the specific growth rate could be explained by the BetaGeneral distribution function, and temperature dependence was described by the Ratkowsky square root model. The temperature dependence of the growth could be successfully incorporated into the differential equation of microbial growth to predict the B. cereus count on the seasoned soybean sprouts under fluctuating temperature conditions. Safe shelf lives with different probabilities to reach $10^5\;CFU/g$ were presented at four different temperatures, considering the variation in initial contamination and specific growth rate by the Monte Carlo method and 2-step bootstrapping, respectively. Safe shelf lives defined as the time with a probability of less than 0.1% of reaching the critical limit, were 13.4, 5.2, 3.6, and 2.8 days at 0, 5, 10, and $15^{\circ}C$, respectively.
In this study, an underwater radiation detector was built using a GAGG(Ce) scintillator and silicon photomultiplier to establish an underwater radiation exposure monitoring system. The GAGG(Ce) scintillator is suitable for small radiation detectors as it strongly absorbs gamma rays and has a high light emission rate with no deliquescent properties. Additionally, the silicon photomultiplier is a light sensor with characteristics such as small size and low applied voltage. Further, a program and mobile app were developed to monitor the radiation coefficient values generated from the detector. According to the results of the evaluation of the characteristics of the underwater radiation monitoring system, when tested for its responsiveness to radiation intensity and reactivity, the system exhibited a coefficient of determination of at least 0.99 with respect to the radiation source distance. Additionally, when tested for its underwater environmental temperature dependence, the monitoring system exhibited an increase in the count rate up to a certain temperature because of the increasing dark current and a decrease in the count rate because of decreasing overvoltage. Extended studies based on the results of this study are expected to greatly contribute to immediate and continuing evaluation of the degree of radioactive contamination in underwater environments.
Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) evaluation is a useful tool for monitoring disease activity in various inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions. ESR is known to be influenced by a multitude of confounding factors. The present study aimed to assess the possible determinants of the ESR and its relationship with various risk factors involved in ischemic stroke. ESR and other hematological and biochemical parameters were investigated in 163 ischemic stroke patients (107 males and 56 females) selected based on imaging techniques including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) scans. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 16.0 software. Linear regression analysis showed a significant inverse relationship of hemoglobin (Hb) and hematocrit or packed cell volume (PCV) (P<0.001 for females; P<0.01 for males) with the ESR. It was observed that the red blood cell (RBC) count was not strongly correlated with the ESR (P<0.05 for both males and females). It was also observed that sex significantly affected the variables determining the ESR levels, whereas age had no effect. Gender differences were also observed with respect to Hb, RBC, PCV, mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), and ESR. The possible determinants of higher ESR levels in ischemic stroke may be sex, Hb, hematocrit, and RBC count, but the role of other clinical and laboratory parameters cannot be underestimated.
A total of 185 vasovasostomies were carried out for 11 years. Various factors which are of importance in fluencing the successful vasovasostomies are analysed and presented as follows: In recent years, demand of reanastomosis of the vas deferens increased considerably. An average age of the subjects is 39, and that of their wives, 33 in this series. An average interval between vasectomy and vasovasostomy is 4 years. An average number of living chidren is 2.6 at the time of vasectomy. and 2.1 at the time of time of vasovasostomy. Merchant and public official are the most commonly encounterd occupation in the present series. Coital frequencies are 2.2/week after vasovasostomy. The most common reasons for requesting the vasovasostomy are remarriage and deaths of children, especially son. Success rate is considerably higher among younger group than that of the older. Success rate is somewhat higher among groups of shorter interval between the operations (vasectomy and vasovasostomy) than that of longer interval group. Success rate is higher among bilateral vasovasostomy group than that of any others. Success rate is higher in solid splint group and no splint group than hollow splint group. The closed dressing technique of the end of splint on the scrotum is found to be reasonably effective in preventing infection. Ordinary end-to-end anastomosis and folded side-to-side anastomosis techniques are proved to be the most ideal form of modified operation for the successful vasovasostomies. The most common causes of failure are infection, injuries of blood supply, avascular necrosis due to extensive mobilization, inadequate approximation of both vasal end, hematoma, changes of epididymal environment, and early ambulation in this series. Overall success rate of the author's series is found the 81 per cent, and impregnation rate is 35 per cent. Overall results reported by other workers are that success rate regarding appearance of sperm in the semen after operation is 64 per cent, and that of impregnation after vasovasostomy is 33 per cent. The results of semen assessment performed on same cases prior to vasectomy and following vasovasostomy showed that post-vasovasostomy sperm count scarcely reached three-quaters of pre-vasectomy count.

We propose MBAP(Multi-rate Broadcast Active Probing) technique to get the right measurements for link quality in Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). Most routing protocols for WMN make use of link quality-aware routing metrics, such as ETX(Expected Transmission Count) and ETT(Expected Transmission Time), while the hop count is usually used in MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork). A broadcast based active proving technique is adopted in the previous studies to get the ETX or ETT of a link. However this technique does not reflect the multi-rate feature of WLAN because it uses a single fixed transmission rate for broadcast which usually differs from the actual rate used in data transmissions. MBAP overcomes this shortage by exploiting various rate broadcast frames for probing. We implement MBAP on linux system by modifying WLAN driver and related kernel sub-systems. Experimental results show that MBAP can capture link quality more accurately than the existing techniques.
