중년 여성의 자원봉사활동 지속성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Influencing the Continuity of Volunteer Activities of Middle-aged Women)

  • 본 연구는 개인변인(참여동기, 리더십생활기술, 노화인식), 대인관계 변인(대상자, 동료, 직원과의 관계), 기관변인(인정보상, 기관교육 유무)이 자원봉사활동 지속성에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 서울시에 소재한 자원봉사센터 및 지역봉사 기관에서 활동하고 있는 40세 이상 64세 이하 여성을 대상으로 2019년 8월 2일부터 20일 동안 설문 조사를 실시하였고 질문지는 총 300부 배포하여 298부 회수했으며, 이 중 무응답과 결측치를 제외한 총 180부를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 자료분석은 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 개인변인인 리더십생활기술과 참여동기, 대인관계 변인인 동료와의 관계, 기관변인인 인정보상은 자원봉사활동 지속성에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 중년 여성의 자원봉사활동 지속성을 활성화 시키고 유지하기 위한 실천적 및 정책적 제언과 실천 현장에서 활용할 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하자 한다.

한국 소아청소년정신과 의사의 전문적 치료 현황 (A Practice Patterns of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists in South Korea)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to assess the career paths and practice patterns of child and adolescent psychiatrists in South Korea. Methods : A survey on demographic data, work environment, opinion on fellowship training program, and current practice patterns was conducted in 76/223 (34.0%) of all child and adolescent psychiatrists (N=223) were from 1980 to 2008. The survey data from the responders were analyzed. Results : More than half of those surveyed were women. The mean age of survey participants was 40.8 years; most were married, and lived in the Seoul National Capital Area. In general, the responders were very satisfied with their work. They worked in private practice, public sector, group practice, and as consultants. Up to 87% of the patients treated were children and adolescents. The most common treatment modalities were medication and parent psychoeducation. Social skills training and play therapy were applied mainly for children aged 4 to 12 years old. Cognitive behavioral therapy and counseling were preferred in adolescents. Conclusion : The current study used a database approach in order to define current practice patterns. These data may be helpful in consideration of future training programs, workforce issues in child and adolescent psychiatry in South Korea, and also in collaboration with other mental health providers.

학생정신건강사업 현황 및 관련 교육 요구도: 초중고 보건교사와 상담교사 대상 (The Current Status of Student Mental Health Programs and the Needs for Related Training: Focusing on School Nurses and School Counselors)

  • Purpose: The leading cause of death among teenagers in Korea is suicide. Also, it is known that mental health of Korean adolescents identified based on the levels of perceived stress or depression is very poor. The purpose of this study was to examine the current status of student mental health programs in Korea and the associated problems and to explore ways to make the programs more effective. Methods: The subjects of the study were a total of 115 school nurses and school counselors in elementary, middle and high schools. The study examined the current status and the associated problems of school mental health programs as well as the needs for teacher training programs related to student mental health. Results: Few mental health programs other than counseling for at-risk students were being carried out. The problems associated with student mental health management were, in terms of management, 'accountability in case of incidents such as student suicide' and 'parents uncooperative in their kid's mental health management (visit to hospital, etc.)' and, in terms of manpower, 'unclear R&R between school nurses and school counselors' and, more fundamentally, 'the lack of human resources.' The needs for teacher training programs related to student mental health were very high and the content required most was 'ways to manage stress of students and teachers themselves,' followed by 'interpersonal conflicts management & conservational skills,' and 'ways to manage student mental illness.' Conclusion: In conclusion, to increase the effectiveness of student mental health programs, we should move on from the current system which focuses only on early discovery and intervention to a more comprehensive system that includes preventive approaches, while having clearer R&R and more workforce dedicated to student mental health programs and attracting more parental cooperation and support.

방문건강관리사업 담당 영양사와 연계전문인력을 위한 영양부문 교육 프로그램 운영과 평가 (Implementation and Evaluation of Nutrition Capacity Training Program for Dietitians and Related Professionals Working at Customized Home Visiting Health Services)

  • The purpose of the study was to implement and evaluate a nutrition capacity training program for dietitians and other professionals working at customized home visiting health services (CHVHS). This program focused on nutrition services for hypertension or diabetes mellitus patients including topics regarding CHVHS, and composed of 10 sessions with lectures, discussion and practice. Dietitians (n = 54) and other professionals (n = 20) participated in the program and completed the questionnaire to assess their understanding of nutritional management, nutrition services and CHVHS before and after the program, and to examine program satisfaction and education needs. Subjects were mostly women (98.6%) and college or university graduates (93.2%). Total score (p < 0.001), as well as all items (p < 0.001 or p < 0.01) of understanding regarding nutritional management, nutrition services and CHVHS, were significantly increased after the program both in dietitians and in other professionals. Subjects were generally satisfied with the program, showing more satisfaction with items regarding subject's participation, acquiring new knowledge, usefulness of the program for CHVHS, and education materials. In future nutrition capacity training programs, subjects wanted to have classes regarding nutrition services for specific chronic diseases, development of education materials, methods for dietary life education, modifying eating habits and so on. Other professionals compared to dietitians, showed higher education needs in meal management (p < 0.01) and nutrition counseling skills (p < 0.05). This study showed the effectiveness of a nutrition capacity training program for home-visiting dietitians and other professionals, and suggests the need and direction for future nutrition capacity training programs.

Effects of Sexual Rehabilitation Using the PLISSIT Model on Quality of Sexual Life and Sexual Functioning in Post-Mastectomy Breast Cancer Survivors

  • Background and Objectives: As one of the most common treatments for breast cancer, mastectomy has adverse effects on the quality of sexual life and sexual functioning in the impacted women. Various strategies have therefore been proposed to resolve their sexual problems. The present study was conducted to determine the effect of sexual rehabilitation using the PLISSIT model in post-mastectomy breast cancer survivors. Materials and Methods: The present quasi-experimental study was conducted on a population of post-mastectomy breast cancer survivors and their husbands. Sample size was calculated as 50 each for intervention and non-intervention groups. The former received sexual counseling based on the PLISSIT model consisting of four levels of intervention: permission, limited information, specific suggestion and intensive therapy, presented in four 90-minute sessions. Data were collected using the Sexual Quality of Life-Female (SQOL-F) questionnaire and the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Results: No significant differences were observed in the mean quality of sexual life scores between the intervention and control groups (P>0.05) before the intervention; however, a significant difference emerged between the groups after the intervention (P<0.01). Thus the mean score for sexual functioning in the intervention group was $26.3{\pm}3.76$ before and $30.0{\pm}4.38$ after the intervention (P<0.0001). In the control group, however, the difference between the pre- and post-intervention mean scores was not statistically significant (P=0.713). Conclusion: The present study showed that nurses can use the PLISSIT model in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiotherapy to teach coping and problem-solving skills to women with breast cancer and their husbands and to encourage their participation in group programs for expressing their feelings and attitudes about their current sex life and thus help enhance quality of sexual life and sexual functioning in this group.

간호전문대학생의 재학중 간호전문직관의 변화에 관한 연구 (A study on the change of the views on nursing profession of the nursing college students)

  • The aims of this study are to identify the perceptions and learning needs related to nursing profession of nursing students and to provide the basic data for development of curriculum. The questionnaire used for this study includes 103 items categorized as the fellowing 8 areas : the perception of nursing profession, competency as a nurse, the perception about clients, priorities in nursing activity, the knowledge required for, an ideology about nursing. Data was collected from the same students through their first grade in 1993 to third grade in 1995. The results are as follows : 1) In terms of the views on nursing profession, most of the students responded it as helping treatment of disease. Higher the grade, more significant with regard to health counseling, utilization of nursing and skills, nursing for community people. 2) Asked about competency as a nurse, sufficient professional knowledge on the nursing was responded as the highest. 3) Asked about the clients of nursing, 'patients' was the highest and as the grade was high, the items on 'family', 'community people', 'community' were high. 4) With regard to the points to be considered in the performance of nursing, while 'physical respect', 'psychological respect' were commonly responded, 'spiritual respect' highly responded in the second and third grades. 5) Asked about what nursing activity is, 'to relieve the pain' was high in the first and second grades, 'the promotion of health' was high in the third grade. 6) With regard to the ideology on nursing, the humanity and belief and faith were commonly responded. These results suggest, even though the expanded role of nursing was recognized, there is the tendency of illness oriented, to be need of reinforcement on the curriculum management in nursing education.

결혼 이민자 가족 관련기관의 프로그램 운영 현황에 관한 연구 (A Study of Programs Operation within all the Related Agency Provides Services for Married-Immigrant Families in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to guide in providing quality services to meet the needs of married immigrants and their families. The researched agencies in this study were 14 public agencies and local government agencies, 21 married-immigrant family support centers, and 11 community social welfare centers located in the Seoul and Kyung-Gi areas. The program was categorized by the participating researchers, SPSS WIN 12.0 was used to calculate frequency, percentage and average then cross-tabulation was initiated. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The married-immigrant family support centers provide dominant services compared to public agencies and local government agencies, and community social welfare centers are located in the region of Seoul and Kyoung-Gi in the service areas of education, counseling, culture, child care and protect, support group and network. 2) All agencies provide service targeted to married immigrant women and their children 3) Three different types of agencies are mainly focused on providing Korean education programs. Married-immigrant family support centers and community social welfare centers are focused on providing computer skills programs. Public agencies and local government agencies are focused on providing vocation-oriented education. 4) Married-immigrant family support centers were investigated to service to the needs of married-immigrant families through networking with their neighboring communities.

고등학생을 대상으로 한 약물남용 예방 프로그램의 효과 -음주와 흡연을 중심으로- (The Effect of Substance Abuse Prevention Program on High School Students - focused on alcohol and smoking)

  • Substance abuse among teenagers has been spreading widely and become a serious social problem. However, teachers hardly realize its importance. Recently, substance abuse prevention programs show a tendency towards one time education. This study aims to research the effect of substance abuse prevention on high school students using the Life Skills Training Program. Two classes(36 students in the experimental group, 35 in the control group) at W High School in Daejeon were randomly sampled for this study from May to June 2002. Substance knowledge and attitude, problem solving, and assertiveness were examined as Pre and Post-Tests. The data was analyzed using frequencies, t-test, means, and covariance(ANCOVA). The results of this study were as follows; 1. Compared with the control group, substance knowledge in the experimental group was significantly improved(F=176.317, P=.000). And compared with the control group, substance attitudes in the experimental group were improved significantly.(F=207.682, P=.000). 2. Compared with the control group, cognitions to problem solving in the experimental group was significantly improved(F=100.937, P=.000). 3. Compared with the control group, assertiveness behaviors in the experimental group were increased significantly(F=207.255, P=.000). The study showed that Substance Abuse Prevention of High School Students was effective in improving substance knowledge and attitude, cognition to problem solving, and assertiveness behavior. Some suggestions based on the result are as follows; 1. Substance abuse preventive programs must be practiced properly and systematically with high school students in their regular classes. 2. Various preventive education programs must be developed for substance abuse where high school students can join in a community center, such as Community Welfare Center, Alcoholic Counseling Center, and Mental Health Center. 3. For the furthering of substance abuse preventive education, there must be continued research about not only students with problems of substance misuse and abuse, but also students without them. 4. There must be early determination of students with problems of substance misuse to be able provide school social workers with the opportunity for intervention.

음악치료 교과과정에 대한 음악치료전공 대학원생의 인식도 조사 연구 (Music Therapy Students' Perception on the Music Therapy Education in Graduate Program)

  • 본 연구는 음악치료 교과과정의 효율성을 알아보기 위해 4개의 대학원의 음악치료학과 학생들 100명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 대상자들이 가장 필요성을 높이 인식하고 중요하다고 생각하는 과목은 음악치료기술(23.2%)로 조사되었다. 대학원 진학 전 학부전공이 음악전공인 학생들과 음악 외 전공인 학생들의 음악기술영역에 대한 역량 및 자신감이 다르게 나타났으며, 실습의 단계가 가장 높은 학생들의 임상에 대한 자신감이 높은 반면 인턴쉽 과정에서 다소 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 상담 및 심리학 관련 과목의 개설에 대한 욕구가 가장 높았으며(19.7%) '음악치료사로서의 전문성'을 가장 중요시 여기는 것으로 나타났다(51.8%). 이러한 결과들은 음악치료학과 대학원생들이 인식하는 음악치료 교과과정의 효율성에 대한 정보를 제공하고, 기초 지식과 역량에 맞는 효율적인 교과과정을 제공하기 위한 필요성과 중요성을 제시하는 데 그 의의를 갖는다.

일 종합전문병원에서의 전문간호사 역할 및 운영방안 개발 (Development of Roles and Organizational Policy of Advanced Practice Nurses in an Acute Hospital Setting)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop roles and organizational policy of advanced practice nurses (APNs) in an acute hospital setting. Method: The design of the study was to descriptive-exploratory. Sample consisted of 43 participants who included 13 nurses, 18 nurse managers and 12 physicians. Survey, interview and focus group interview were performed to obtain the data. Results: The expected roles of APNs were education and counseling, direct management patient care with advanced skills, research, and collaboration and coordination among several departments. The expected outcomes were patient satisfaction, improved access to care, decreased the rate of complications, and speedy provision of services. Based on research, a proposal of APNs roles and organizational policy in a hospital setting was developed, which included definition of APNs, qualification, roles and specific roles, specialty areas, accountability, recruitment and affiliation, privileges, and expected outcomes. Conclusion: This study gives a guideline on how to introduce and use APNs in acute care tertiary settings.
