Generally, moving object tracking used Lucas-Kanade feature tracking method which is strong in movement, rotation and size. But this method is very weak of occlusion by background or another object and so on. In this case, this method tracks backgrounds or another objects instead a moving object, or a tracking is finished. In order to solve this problem, we proposes Lucas-Kanade feature tracking method which introduce a destimation function and prediction function.
It is necessary to distance measurement to detect about obstacles and front vehicles to autonomously navigate. In this paper, we propose an algorithm using stereo vision. It is as follows this algorithm´s procedure. First, It has detected a front vehicle´s common edges from left and right images by image processing. We select number plate of a front vehicle as edges. Then, we estimate distance by triangle measurement method after stereomatching using corner points of the plate´s edges as feature-based points. Experimental results show errors and values compand with experimental ones after set up distance between vehicles in advance.
In this paper, a content-based image retrieval scheme based on scale-space theory is proposed. The existing methods using scale-space theory consider all scales for image retrieval, thereby requiring a lot of computation. To overcome this problem, the proposed algorithm utilizes amodified histogram intersection method to select candidate images from database. The relative scalebetween a query image and a candidate image is calculated by the ratio of histograms. Feature pointsare extracted from the candidates using a corner detection algorithm. The feature vector for eachfeature point is composed of RGB color components and differential invariants. For computing thesimilarity between a query image and a candidate image, the euclidean distance measure is used. Theproposed image retrieval method has been applied to various images and the performance improvementover the existing methods has been verified.
Anoxygenic photosynthesis, performed primarily by anoxygenic photosynthetic bacteria (APB), has been supposed to arise on Earth more than 3 billion years ago. The long established APB are distributed in almost every corner where light can reach. However, the relationship between APB phylogeny and source environments has been largely unexplored. Here we retrieved the pufM sequences and related source information of 89 pufM containing species from the public database. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that horizontal gene transfer (HGT) most likely occurred within 11 out of a total 21 pufM subgroups, not only among species within the same class but also among species of different phyla or subphyla. A clear source environment feature related phylogenetic distribution pattern was observed, with all species from oxic habitats and those from anoxic habitats clustering into independent subgroups, respectively. HGT among ancient APB and subsequent long term evolution and adaptation to separated niches may have contributed to the coupling of environment and pufM phylogeny.

Protein molecules are combined with another ones which have similar shapes at pocket positions. The pocket positions can be good references to describe the shapes of protein molecules. Harris corner detector is commonly used to detect feature points of 2 or 3D objects. Feature points can be found on the pocket areas and the points which have high derivatives. Generally speaking, the densities of feature points are relatively high at pocket areas because the shapes of pockets are concave. The pocket areas can be decided by the subdivision of voxel cubes which include feature points. The Euclidean distances between feature points and the central coordinate of the decided pocket area are calculated and sorted. The graph of sorted distances describes the shape of a protein molecule and the distribution of feature points. Therefore, it can be used to classify protein molecules by their shapes. Even though the shapes of protein molecules have been distorted with noises, they can be recognized with the accuracy more than 95 %. The accurate shape recognition provides the information to predict the binding properties of protein molecules.
In this paper we have presented a two dimensional model based tracking system using improved chamfer matching. Conventional chamfer matching could not calculate similarity well between the object and image when there is very cluttered background. Then we have improved chamfer matching to calculate similarity well even in very cluttered background with edge and corner feature points. Improved chamfer matching is used as likelihood function of particle filter which tracks the geometric object. Geometric model which uses edge and corner feature points, is a discriminant descriptor in color changes. Particle Filter is more non-linear tracking system than Kalman Filter. Then the presented method uses geometric model, particle filter and improved chamfer matching for tracking object in complex environment. In experimental result, the robustness of our system is proved by comparing other methods.

In this paper, we propose a head detection method based on vertical and horizontal pixel histogram analysis in order to overcome drawbacks of the previous head detection approach using Haar-like feature-based face detection. In the proposed method, we create the vertical and horizontal foreground pixel histogram images from the background subtraction image, which represent the number of foreground pixels in the same vertical or horizontal position. Then we extract feature points of a head region by applying Harris corner detection method to the foreground pixel histogram images and by analyzing corner points. The proposal method shows robust head detection results even in the face image covering forelock by hairs or the back view image in which the previous approaches cannot detect the head regions.
This report introduces the structural design of Hibiya Mitsui Tower built in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. The upper part of this tower is used for offices and the lower portion is for commercial facilities and a cinema complex which need the large open spaces. The 192m-high building has 35 floors above ground and 4 below ground. The structure is a steel frame using CFT columns to feature the high-performance oil dampers and the buckling restrained braces for vibration control. First, an outline of the structural design of this building is presented. Second, we introduce the transfer frame adopted to realize the large open spaces in the lower part, and the long column supporting the corner part of the high-rise building to avoid making a shade on the adjacent Hibiya Park, which are the feature of this building. Finally, we present an outline of the latest highly efficient semi-active oil dampers adopted in this building, and the vibration responses of this tower.
In this paper, we propose a moving object detection and tracking algorithm based on multi-frame feature point tracking information to reduce false positives. However, there are problems of detection error and tracking speed in existing studies. In order to compensate for this, we first calculate the corner feature points and the optical flow of multiple frames for camera movement compensation and object tracking. Next, the tracking error of the optical flow is reduced by the multi-frame forward-backward tracking, and the traced feature points are divided into the background and the moving object candidate based on homography and RANSAC algorithm for camera movement compensation. Among the transformed corner feature points, the outlier points removed by the RANSAC are clustered and the outlier cluster of a certain size is classified as the moving object candidate. Objects classified as moving object candidates are tracked according to label tracking based data association analysis. In this paper, we prove that the proposed algorithm improves both precision and recall compared with existing algorithms by using quadrotor image - based detection and tracking performance experiments.

In this paper, we presents a new method for vehicle number plate detection. Our method is basically the method extracting a rectangles from a car image because the shape of a vehicle number plate is a rectangle. For detecting the vehicle number plate, firstly, the contrast of the input image is enhanced. Then, the lines in the image are obtained by using LSD(line segment detector), and rectangles in the image are detected from the line data. These rectangles are the candidates of the car plate, from which the car plate is selected. In this procedure, the method of detecting rectangles is our proposed method, which consists of three stages: (1) extracting corners from the line segments by LSD; (2) extracting diagonal lines from the corner data; and (3) detecting rectangles from diagonal line information. And finally the vehicle number plate is selected from these rectangles by using the feature of the vehicle number plate and the inside information of rectangles. In the experiments with the 100 images captured by our digital camera, we have achieved a detection rate of 94%.
