지적 기반 산림생태네트워크 보호구역 설정방안 (A Method for Zoning the Parcel-based Protecting Area of the Ecological Network in Forest)

  • The purpose of this study is to detect the protection area around the Geum-buk and Geum-nam Mountains for making a sustainable ecological network. The protection area in the Geum-buk and Geum-nam Mountains was analyzed by using spatial data and a field survey for landscape conservation purposes. A survey scope was fixed using digital elevation model, and the protection area was finally determined based on the parcel map called as the Korea Land Information System (KLIS). Here we have several conclusions in this study. First, spatial data used in this study were a map of ecological and natural degree (MEND), forest distribution map, elevation map, slope map, and several maps for the protection area assigned by laws regarding to the natural resources. Second, we used 4 alternatives to determine the best choice for showing the ecological network in the study area. One alternative (alt. 3) of 4 ones was finally chosen as the best condition for making the ecological network. The condition in elevation and slope was a little modified to a lower level in alt, 3. The result derived from alt, 3 reflected the continuity and connectivity in the ecological network and we estimate that the protection area can protect the core area using the buffer zone around the ecological network. Finally the parcel-based protection area in the Geum-buk and Geum-nam Mountains had $493.92km^2$ of the core area, and $233.99km^2$ of the buffer zone, which means the parcel-based protection area increased by $97.76km^2$ in the core area, but decreased by $76.61km^2$ as of in the topographical map.

광역생태축 구축을 위한 기준 및 관리지역 설정 연구 (A Study on the Setting Criteria and Management Area for the National Ecological Network)

  • This study was performed to show criteria of a National Ecological Network (NEN) for South Korea and it was a part of a study of ecological network for broad areas on national land showed by Ministry of Environment of Korea. After 1970s, many european countries presented methods and criteria not on individual protected area but on networking among many habitats. The PEEN (Pan European Ecological Network) and NATURA 2000 are results of those. In South Korea, concepts and mapping metheods of ecological network was studied but those were not applied to the whole national land because the equality and local specialities were not reflected. So, in this study, we presented the criteria composed of forest, river, wildlife and coastal evaluation items in conservation ecology and showed the mapping method which can applied to the national land. After the evaluation on land area which composed of forest, river and wildlife axis. Core areas were $30,616km^2$, buffer zone were $21,870km^2$ and each accounted for 31% and 22% of the national land. Except for Taebaeck-Gangwon region, whole region's core areas were accounted for 20~30% of it and buffer zone were accounted for 20~25% of it, so these can be applied to the national land with equality and local specialities. Forest axis and river axis were clearly linear and connected, but the wildlife axis was dispersed in point form. Therefore, to apply the NEN, a detailed habitat map is important and the interconnected implementation of forest, river, wildlife, and coastal axis is required.

XRF 코어스캐너를 이용한 북동태평양 퇴적물 내 원소의 고해상분석 (High Resolution Elements Analysis in N-E Pacific Sediments using XRF Core Scanner)

  • 북동태평양 클라리온-클리퍼톤 지역에서 채취된 주상시료 내 원소의 수직적인 변화를 살펴보기 위하여 XRF 코어스캐너를 이용하여 주요원소(Al, Ca, Fe, Mn, Ti, Ba) 및 미량원소(Pb, Sr, V, Zr, Zn)를 2 mm 간격으로 분석하였다. XRF 코어스캐너의 분석 능력을 검증하기 위하여 동일 주상시료에서 부시료를 채취하여 ICP-AES 정량분석을 실시하였다. XRF 코어스캐너와 ICP-AES 측정값의 상관계수는 Mn ($r^2$ > 0.89)을 제외하면 대체적으로 낮다. 그러나 두 측정값의 수직적인 분포형태는 매우 유사하며 퇴적물 색상에 의해 분류된 퇴적상 변화와 거의 일치된다. Mn/Al 비는 각 퇴적상(Facies I, Facies II, Facies III)에서 뚜렷한 차이를 보인다. 그리고 각 퇴적상 경계가 뚜렷한 BC08-02-05와 BC8-02-13에서는 퇴적상에 따른 뚜렷한 Mn/Al 비의 변화가 보이나, 퇴적상 경계가 생물활동으로 점이적인 BC08-02-02, BC08-02-09 그리고 BC08-02-10에서는 점이적인 Mn/Al 비가 나타났다. 각 퇴적상의 원소 함량차이는 퇴적물내 산화-환원 환경 변화에 의해서 조절되며, 원소들의 수직적인 분포형태는 퇴적물내 생물활동에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • An experimental study was performed to evaluate the in-plate evaporation heat transfer and flow characteristics of a evaporator used in automobile. Two test-cores with different heat transfer area, bead-shape and bead-array were tested, A type and B type. For the heat transfer, Nusselt number for B type test-core reaches a value nearly equal to the one for A type test-core, in the whole range of equivalent Reynolds number. But, for the same mass flow rate of refrigerant, hA for B type test-core becomes higher with the increase of the mass quality of refrigerant than for A type test-core. In a flow visualization experiment, the wake zone of refrigerant circulating at u-turn position of plate is observed.

Experimental study on a new type of assembly bolted end-plate connection

  • The bolted end-plate beam-column connections have been widely used in steel structure and composite structure because of its excellent seismic performance. In this paper, the end-plate bolted connection is applied in the concrete structure, A new-type of fabricated beam-column connections with end-plates is presented, and steel plate hoop is used to replace stirrups in the node core area. To study the seismic behavior of the joint, seven specimens are tested by pseudo-static test. The experimental results show that the new type of assembly node has good ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Besides, under the restraint effect of the high-strength stirrup, the width of the web crack is effectively controlled. In addition, based on the analysis of the factors affecting the shear capacity of the node core area, the formula of shear capacity of the core area of the node is proposed, and the theoretical values of the formula are consistent with the experimental value.

State of Practice of Performance-Based Seismic Design in Indonesia

  • The current 2002 Indonesian Seismic Code consists of prescriptive criteria that are intended to result in buildings capable of providing certain levels of performance. However, the actual performance capability of buildings is not assessed as part of the code procedures. Several analysis procedures are allowed, and the state of practice is to use the RSA with six-zone seismic map developed for 475-year earthquake. This code is being revised and will adopt many of the ASCE7-10 provisions and 2475-year earthquake for MCE. The growth of tall buildings compels engineers to look for more optimal lateral system. The use of RC core wall as single system has been adopted by very few engineering firms, which is allowed in the current code but will no longer be the case if the new one is in effect. Other innovative structural system such as core wall and outrigger is not addressed in the proposed new code. Engineers must then resort to NLRHA. Currently, one 50-story building under construction using RC core wall and outrigger has been designed with RSA and employing capacity design principles, then evaluated using NLRHA per TBI Guidelines. Based on the evaluation, the performance of the 50-story building generally still meets the criteria of the TBI Guidelines. The result of the case study is presented in this paper.

Large deformation performance of the anti-seepage system connection part in earth core dam built on thick overburden

  • Dams are inevitably planned to be built on thick overburden with high permeability and deformability. The connection part between concrete cut-off wall in overburden and earth core in dam body is not only a key part of the anti-seepage system, but also a weak position. Large uneven settlement will be aroused at the concoction part. However, the interaction behavior and the scope of the connection part cannot be determined effectively. In this paper, numerical analysis of a high earth core dam built on thick overburden was carried out with large deformation FE method. The mechanical behavior of the connection part was detail studied. It can be drawn that there is little differences in dam integral deformation for different analysis method, but big differences were found at the connection part. The large deformation analysis method can reasonably describe the process that concrete wall penetrates into soil. The high plasticity clay has stronger ability to adapt to large uneven deformation which can reduce stress level, and stress state of concrete wall is also improved. The scope of high plasticity clay zone in the connection part can be determined according to stress level of soils and penetration depth of concrete wall.

Microstructure and Hardness of Surface Melting Hardened Zone of Mold Steel, SM45C using Yb:YAG Disk Laser

  • This study applied laser surface melting process using CW(Continuous wave) Yb:YAG laser and cold-work die steel SM45C and investigated microstructure and hardness. Laser beam speed, power and beam interval are fixed at 70 mm/sec, 2.8 kW and $800{\mu}m$ respectively. Depth of Hardening layer(Melting zone) was a minimum of 0.8 mm and a maximum of 1.0 mm that exceeds the limit of minimum depth 0.5 mm applying trimming die. In all weld zone, macrostructure was dendrite structure. At the dendrite boundary, Mn, Al, S and O was segregated and MnS and Al oxide existed. However, this inclusion didn't observe in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). As a result of interpreting phase transformation of binary diagram, MnS crystallizes from liquid. Also, it estimated that Al oxide forms by reacting with oxygen in the atmosphere. The hardness of the melting zone was from 650 Hv to 660 Hv regardless of the location that higher 60 Hv than the hardness of the HAZ that had maximum 600 Hv. In comparison with the size of microstructure using electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD), the size of microstructure in the melting zone was smaller than HAZ. Because it estimated that cooling rate of laser surface melting process is faster than water quenching.

군산자유무역지대 활성화를 위한 개발방향 구조분석에 관한 연구 (A Structural Analysis of Developing Strategies for Activation in Gunsan Free Trade Zone)

  • 우리나라가 속해 있는 동북아지역은 동남아시아와 더불어 세계 물류의 중심지 및 생산공장의 역할을 수행하고 있다. 특히 동북아시아를 선도하고 있는 한국, 중국, 일본의 경우 동아시아의 물류 거점역활 선점과 글로벌기업 유치를 위하여 다양한 Free Zone제도를 제정 도입하여 활성화에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 동 제도의 시행초기 단계에 있는 우리나라의 경우, 주변국을 벤치마킹하여 성공요인을 찾는 것이 시행착오를 줄이고 경쟁의 우위를 확보하는 지름길이 될 것이다. 한편, 주변국의 Free Zone들은 다양한 전략을 가지고 경쟁을 하고 있으나, 우리나라의 경우 자유무역지대 활성화 전략에 포함되는 구성요소간의 종속관계, 계층파악 등의 시스템 적인 차원에서의 접근은 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문은 이러한 점에 착안하여, 군산 자유무역지대(Free Trade Zone) 성공요인을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 하여 군산자유무역지대 활성화를 위한 구조모델을 FSM법을 사용하여 구축하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다.

북동태평양 KODOS-97지역 주상 퇴적물의 층서 및 고해양학적 연구 (Stratigraphy and Paleoceanography of deep-sea core sediments from the Korea Deep Ocean Study (KODOS)-97 Area, Northeast Equatorial Pacific)

  • 한국심해연구지역 (KODOS)-97 퇴적물은 색깔, 화학적 특성, 물리적 특성 등에 의해 깊이에 따라 상부로부터 Unit I, II, III로 구분된다. 깊이별로 산출되는 방산충 군집의 변화와 방사성 동위원소인 $^{10}Be$와의 대비를 통하여 연구지역의 층서를 확립하고 이를 토대로 이 지역의 고해양환경을 분석하였다. 중기 에오세에서 제 4기까지의 시대범위를 가지는 방산충들이 산출되었으며 대부분의 깊이에서 제 3기와 제 4기 종들이 섞여 나와 방산충을 포함한 퇴적물의 재동작용이 활발한 지역임을 나타낸다. 방산충들은 퇴적물 상부에서 하부로 갈수록 점점 용해의 정도가 심해지며 Unit III에서는 대부분의 방산층이 용해되어 산출되지 않는다. 정점에 따라 일정하지는 않지만 Unit I의 중간정도의 퇴적구간이 Collosphaera tuberosa Zone에 속하는 총으로 약 0.21 Ma의 연령을 가진다. Unit II는 Stylatractus universus가 절멸하는 시기인 0.42 Ma보다 젊은 층으로 Collosphaera tuberosa Zone에 속한다. Unit III는 후기 에오세보다 오래되지 않는 제 371 층으로 Unit III와 그 상부 퇴적층 사이에는 최소한 300만년 이상의 퇴적결층이 존재한다. 퇴적결층의 시기는 중기마이오세 말기와 플라이오세 기간이며 그 기간 중 강화된 남극저층해류가 퇴적결층의 원인으로 작용한다. 방산충을 이용한 연령추정과 방사성 동위원소 $^{10}Be$을 이용하여 추정한 퇴적물의 연령대비가 잘 된다. 본 연구지역의 제 4기 동안의 퇴적율은 약 0.15~0.5 mm/kyr로 아주 낮은 퇴적율을 나타내고 지역에 따른 퇴적작용의 변화가 다양하다. 전 코어를 통해 산출되는 방산충들은 대부분 난류종들로 기후에 따른 종조성의 변화를 보이지 않았다.
