Copper sulfide (CuxS) has been extensively utilized as a counter electrode (CE) material for quantum dot solar cells (QDSCs) due to its exceptional catalytic activity for polysulfide electrolytes. The typical fabrication method of Cu2S CEs based on brass substrate is dangerous, involving the use of a highly concentrated hydrochloric acid solution in a relatively high temperature. In contrast, electroplating presents a safer alternative by employing a less acidic solution at a room temperature. In addition, the electroplating method increases the probability of obtaining CEs of consistent quality compared to the brass method. In this study, the optimized electroplating cycle for CuS CEs in QDSCs has been studied for the highly efficient photovoltaic performances. The QDSCs, featuring electroplated CuS CEs, achieved an impressive efficiency of 7.18%, surpassing the conventional method employing brass CEs, which yielded an efficiency of 6.62%.

I.P exploration is conducted mainly at the alluvium covered granodiorite stock of the Red Hill area at the Dongjeom coal mine, employing Canadian Mcphar equipments of variable frequencies-domain method along a total of 8.5 survey line. Mineralization zone is found by LP anomalies along the I.P the profile of frequency mode. Comparing with the past drilling data, the cause of each anomly is furthermore identified as copper bearing mineralized zones. As alteration and mineralization cover all over the Red-Hill altered grandiorite, copper bearing sulfide veinlets and strings filled out the fractured and altered zones.

The continuous increasing of the global demand of copper and nickel metals raises the interest in developing alternative technologies to produce them from copper sulfide ore. Also, in line with Egypt's vision 2030 for achieving the sustainable socioeconomic development which aims at developing alternative and eco-friendly technologies for processing the Egyptian ores to produce these strategic products instead of its importing. These metals enhance the advanced electrical and electronic industries. The current work aims at investigating the recovery of copper and nickel from Abu Swayeil copper ore using pug leaching technique by sulfuric acid. The factors affecting the pug leaching process including the sulfuric acid concentration, leaching time and temperature have been investigated. The copper ore sample was characterized chemically using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and scanning electron microscope (SEM-EDX). A response surface methodology develops a quadratic model that expects the nickel and copper leaching effectiveness as a function of three controlling factors involved in the procedure of leaching was also investigated. The obtained results showed that the maximum dissolution efficiency of Ni and Cu are 99.06 % and 95.30%, respectively which was obtained at the following conditions: 15 % H2SO4 acid concentration for 6 hr. at 250 ℃. The dissolution kinetics of nickel and copper that were examined according to heterogeneous model, indicated that the dissolution rates were controlled by surface chemical process during the pug leaching. The activation energy of copper and nickel dissolution were 26.79 kJ.mol-1 and 38.078 kJ.mol-1 respectively; and the surface chemical was proposed as the leaching rate-controlling step.
In this study, Sangpyeontongbo excavated at Bigyeongdo, Seosan, were investigated to determine the components of the corrosion products that were formed while they were buried underwater in an anaerobic environment. The causes of corrosion product formation were also determined. Microstructure observation, element mapping, principle component analysis for each year, and the detection of corrosion products were carried out. Results indicate that the concretions of corrosion products on the surface are needle-, hexahedral-, and octahedral-shaped; Pb, Cu, and S were among the elements detected. The Cu-S layer was clearly verified using element mapping. An analysis of major elements for each layer showed that Cu, S, and Pb were present and that most Zn was eliminated. The corrosion products detected were $PbCO_3$ (concretion) and $Cu_{1.96}S$ (metal). Accordingly, the anaerobic corrosion properties of Sangpyeongtongbo are summarized as follows: dezincification, copper sulfide, and lead compound.
The Manjang copper magnetite-fluorite orebodies are imbedded within the limestone beds of the Hwajonri Formation. The ore deposits are characterized by magnetite-fluorite bearing skarn orebody in the west orebody and copper sulfide veins of the central and main orebodies. This study includes fluid inclusion geothermometry, salinity analysis, stable isotope analysis, and application of phase rule to mineral associations in skarn ore. Ore minerals are closely associated with the skarn silicates such as garnet, wollastonite and epidote. Magnetite and fluorite are remarkable in the west orebody whereas chalcopyrite is dominate in the central and main orebodies where pyrite and pyrrhotite also appear as sulfide gangues. Homogenization temperature and salinity of fluid inclusions are measured ranging between $240^{\circ}C$ and $350^{\circ}C$, 6.3~12.9 wt. percent in quartz and $220^{\circ}C$ and $350^{\circ}C$, 8.5~9.9wt. percent in fluorite, respectively. This indicates that the filling temperature and salinity are higher in quartz than in fluorite with the tendency of both to be linearly decreased suggesting an attribution of meteoric water to the mineralization. $T-fo_2$ diagram in the Ca-Fe-Si system at 1 kb and $Xco_2$=0.02 shows that the mineral assemblages with decreasing temperature are andradite-hedenbergite-calcite, hedenbergite-andradite-quartz, magnetite-andradite-quartz, and magnetite-quartz-calcite, indicating that magnetite crystallizes mostly late skarn stage at lower temperature. According to the carbon and oxygen isotopic values of the host limestone and calcite in ores, the sourec of carbon might be mixture of host limestone and deep seated carbons. Sulfur isotope data imply that ore fluids be relatively homogeneous in sulfur isotopic composition, mainly derived from igneous source.

The methods to separate and remove copper in the mixed solution ((399 ppm Cu, 208 ppm Fe, 15.3 g/L Ni, 2.1 g/L Co) with nickel, cobalt and iron were investigated. With hydroxide precipitation method, copper and iron ions were completely precipitated and removed from the solution at pH 7 while some nickel and cobalt also were precipitated. 99.75% copper could be precipitated and removed as copper sulfide from the solution with adding $Na_2S$ (1.25 w/v concentration) of 2 times equivalent of Cu at pH 1. Copper was selectively absorbed on TP 207 ion exchange resin at equilibrium pH 2.0 and could be eluted from copper-loaded resin using 5% $H_2SO_4$.

Tin monosulfide (SnS) is one promising candidate absorber material which replace the current technology based on cadmium telluride (CdTe) and copper indium gallium sulfide selenide (CIGS) for its suitable optical band gap, high absorption coefficient, earth-abundant, non-toxic and cost-effective. During past years work, thin film solar cells based on SnS films had been improved to 4.36% certified efficiency. In this study, Tin monosul fide was obtained by atomic layer deposition (ALD) using the reaction of Tetrakis (dimethylamino) tin (TDMASn, [(CH3)2N]4Sn) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) at low temperatures (100 to 200 oC). The direct optical band gap and strong optical absorption of SnS films were observed throughout the Ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV VIS), and the properties of SnS films were analyzed by sanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).
The influence of impurities contained in Marmatite ores on leaching of zinc was investigated. The zinc sulfide having the same crystal structure of natural Sphalerite was prepared by heating the zinc sulfide chemically precipitated, at $650^{\circ}C$ in nitrogen atmosphere. The activation energy of the sample was 25.8 kcal per mole in the leach test when oxygen partial pressure was 5 atm. and the value was exceedingly high compared to that obtained in Marmatite ores. Synthetic zinc sulfides added with small amount of each impurities were treated in same procedure. As a result, it was found that the leaching velocity was accelerated sharply when about 1 percent of $Cu^{++}$ was blended to the sample. Larger amount of iron has also same effect but the effect was minor compared to the copper. The other impurities indicated no appreciable catalytic action.
This study was conducted to determine the effects of different copper (inorganic and organic) and energy (tallow and glycerol) sources on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, gas emission, diarrhea incidence, and fecal copper concentration in growing pigs by using a 2${\times}$2 factorial design. In this trial, 96 pigs (63 d of age) were employed, with an average initial weight of 28.36${\pm}$1.14 kg. The dietary treatments were i) basal diet with 134 ppm copper (Korea recommendation) as $CuSO_4$+tallow; ii) basal diet with 134 ppm Cu as $CuSO_4$+glycerol; iii) basal diet with 134 ppm copper as CuMet+tallow; and iv) basal diet with 134 ppm copper as CuMet+ glycerol. Throughout the entire experimental period, no differences were noted among treatment groups with regard to the magnitude of improvement in ADG (average daily gain), ADFI (average daily feed intake) and G/F (gain:feed) ratios. The nitrogen (N) digestibility of pigs fed on diets containing organic copper was improved as compared with that observed in pigs fed on diets containing inorganic copper (p<0.05). An interaction of copper${\times}$energy was observed in the context of both nitrogen (p<0.05) and energy (p<0.01) digestibility. Ammonia emissions were significantly lower in the organic copper-added treatment groups than in the inorganic copperadded treatment groups (p<0.05). Mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide emissions were reduced via the addition of glycerol (p<0.05). No significant effects of copper or energy source, or their interaction, were observed in reference to diarrhea appearance and incidence throughout the entirety of the experimental period. The copper concentration in the feces was significantly lower in the organic copper source treatment group than was observed in the inorganic copper source treatment group (p<0.05). The results of this experiment show that organic copper substituted for inorganic copper in the diet results in a decreased fecal copper excretion, but exerts no effect on performance. The different energy (tallow and glycerol) sources interact with different copper sources and thus influence nutrient digestibility. Glycerol supplementation may reduce the concentrations of odorous sulfuric compounds with different Cu sources.
Hydrogen sulfide and ammonia are one of the common malodorous compounds that can be found in emissions from many sewages treatment plants and industrial plants. Therefore, removing these harmful gases from emissions is of significance in both life and industry because they can cause health problems to human and detrimental effects on the catalysts. In this work, pyrolytic carbon blacks from waste tires were used to develop adsorbent with good adsorption capacity for removal of hydrogen and ammonia. Pellet-type adsorbents were prepared by a mixture of carbon black, metal oxide and sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid, and their adsorption capacities were estimated by using breakthrough curve of a continuous fixed bed adsorption column at ambient condition. The adsorbent manufactured with a mixture of carbon black, iron oxide(III) and sodium hydroxide showed the maximum working capacity of hydrogen sulfide. For ammonia, maximum working capacity was obtained by the adsorbent manufactured with a mixture of carbon black, copper oxide(II) and hydrochloric acid.
