  • A carbazole-based Schiff base CB2 was synthesized and applied as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent probe for $Cu^{2+}$ in $H_2O$-DMSO (8/2, v/v, pH = 7.4) solution. CB2 exhibits an excellent selectivity to $Cu^{2+}$ over other examined metal ions with a prominent fluorescence "turn-on" at 475 nm. CB2 and $Cu^{2+}$ forms a 1:2 binding ratio complex with detection limit of $9.5{\mu}M$. In addition, the $Cu^{2+}$ recognition process is hardly interfered by other examined metal ions.

  • Recently, fingerprint sensors have widely used for personal information security, and require quality evaluation to reduce an error of their recognition rate. Quality of fingerprint sensors is evaluated by variation of their electrical resistance introducing by contacts between a probe tip and a sensor electrode, Investigation on the materials compatability and structure optimization of probe is required to reduce deformation of sensor electrode for repeatability of quality testing. Nickel, steel(SK4), beryllium copper, and phosphor bronze were considered as probe materials, and beryllium copper was the most appropriate for materials of probe tips, considering indentation and contact resistance while being contacted probe tips on electrodes. Probes of an inspection part were manufactured with the single-unit structure for physical damage prevention and parallel processing capability. Inspection repeatability was evaluated by voltage variation of fingerprint sensors when the specific current was applied. A single-unit inspection part with beryllium copper probe tips showed excellent repeatability within ${\pm}0.003V$ of its voltage variation.

  • This research aims to study the changes In gastrointestinal function attributed to aging In human. The thresholds for recognition and detection of flavors became elevated and salivary gland acinar cells decreased in the old age. But most esophageal function remained relatively Intact. Although gastric emptying time has been slowed with aging, the total intestinal transit time did not differ. Atropic gastritis due to H. pylori in old man decreased secretion of acid and Intrinsic factor and absorbability of calcium and iron. Pancreatic secretion is droned in older persons. Prevalence of gallstones rised with age. Liver size and portal blood flow decreased significantly with age. Mucosal surface area has been reported to be slightly diminished in the aging man. Glucose transporters decreased and Insulin tolerance Increased. Absorption of aromatic amino acid is diminished with age. Dietary protein In that aging human increased fecal nitrogen excretion. Vitamin A tolerance increased. Vitamin D receptor concentration decreased and resistance to 1,25-(OH)2D3 action increased. Permeability of aging small Intestine Increased. Zinc balance dirt not differ Copper absorption appeared not to be significantly affected by age. Neurotensin secretion decreased thus slowed colonic peristaltic movements and Intestinal mucosal growth.

  • In this paper, current limiter using a magnetic switching which is based on magnetic flux change in the case of fault is proposed. This current limiter consists of iron-core and three parts of coils. One is the primary coil connected to the power system. Another is the secondary coil wound to the opposite direction of the primary coil's winding. The other is the secondary of the secondary coil which is a movable copper plate winding and located below the secondary coil. In the normal state, the magnetic flux produced in the primary and secondary coils flows to the opposite directions each other and becomes to be canceled out. Therefore the voltages induced between the coils are zero. In the case of a fault, at the moment of a fault occurrence recognition, the switch connected to a secondary coil is opened and the secondary of the secondary coil is pulled out to the outside of the iron-core. Then, magnetic flux becomes to flow through the iron-core. Accordingly, the voltage is induced between the both ends of the primary coil and makes the current reduced. Therefore it is possible to cut off the circuit breaker easily with the proposed current limiter. This paper analyzes the current limiting effects and the detailed results are given.
