Unlike common device, MEMS(micro-electro-mechanical system) device consists of very small mechanical structures which determine the performance of the device. Because of its small mechanical structure inside. MEMS device is very sensitive to thermal stress caused by CTE(coefficient of thermal expansion) mismatch between its components. Therefore, its characteristics are affected by material properties. process temperature. and dimensions of each layer such as chip, adhesive and substrate. In this study. we investigated the change of the thermal stress in the chip attached to a substrate. With computer-aided finite element method (FEM), the computer simulation of the thermal stress was conducted on variables such as bonding material, process temperature, bonding layer thickness and die size. The commercial simulation program, ABAQUS ver5.6, was used. Subsequently 3-layer test samples were fabricated, and their degree of bending were measured by 3-D coordinate measuring machine. The experimental results were in good agreement with the simulation results. This study shows that the bonding layer could be the source of stress or act as the buffer layer for stress according to its elastic modulus and CTE. Solder adhesive layer was the source of stress due to its high elastic modulus, therefore high compressive stress was developed in the chip. And the maximum tensile stress was developed in the adhesive layer. On the other hand, polymer adhesive layer with low elastic modulus acted as buffer layer, and resulted in lower compressive stress. The maximum tensile stress was developed in the substrate.

Our previous study on tiny pores (R < 2") observed by HINODE/Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) revealed that the plasma in the pores at the photosphere is always moving down and the pores are surrounded by the strong downward motions (highly red-shifted) of neighboring granulations. From this study, we speculated that the flow motions above the pore should be related with the motions at the photosphere, since the pore is strong magnetic field region. Meanwhile, SNU and KASI installed Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) in the Cude room of the 1.6 m New Solar Telescope (NST) at Big Bear Solar Observatory. FISS is a unique system that can do imaging of H-alpha and Ca II 8542 band simultaneously, which is quite suitable for studying of dynamics of chromosphere. To get some clue on the relationship between the photospheric and low-chromospheric motions at the pore region, we took a coordinate observation with NST/FISS and Hinode/SOT for new emerging active region (AR11117) on October 26, 2010. In the observed region, we could find two tiny pores and two small magnetic islands (SMIs), which have similar magnetic flux with the pores but does not look dark. Magnetic flux density and Doppler velocities at the photosphere are estimated by applying the center-of-gravity (COG) method to the HINODE/spectropolarimeter (SP) data. The line-of-sight motions above the photosphere are determined by adopting the bisector method to the wing spectra of Ha and CaII 8542 lines. As results, we found the followings. (1) There are upflow motion on the pores and downflow motion on the SMIs. (2) Towards the CaII 8542 line center, upflow motion decrease and turn to downward motion in pores, while the speed of down flow motion increases in the SMIs. (3) There is oscillating motion above pores and the SMIs, and this motion keep its pattern along the height. (4) As height increase, there is a general tendency of the speed shift to downward on pores and the SMIs. This is more clearly seen on the other regions of stronger magnetic field. In this talk, we will present preliminary understanding of the coupling of pore dynamics between the photosphere and the low-chromosphere.
See and feel the emotion recognition is the image of a person variously changed according to the environment, personal disposition. Thus, the image recognition has been focused on the emotional sensibilities computer you want to control the number studies. However, existing emotional computing model is numbered and the objective is clearly insufficient measurement conditions. Thus, through quantifiable image Emotion Recognition and emotion computing, is a study of the situation requires an objective assessment scheme. In this paper, the sensitivity was represented by numbered sizes quantified according to the image recognition calculation emotion. So apply the principal attributes of the color image emotion recognition as a configuration parameter. In addition, in calculating the color sensitivity by applying a digital computing focused research. Image color emotion computing research approach is the color of emotion attribute, brightness, and saturation reflects the weighted according to importance to the emotional scores. And free-degree by applying the sensitivity point to the image sensitivity formula (X), the tone (Y-axis) is calculated as a number system. There pleasure degree (X-axis), the tension and position the position of the image point that the sensitivity of the emotional coordinate crossing (Y-axis). Image color coordinates by applying the core emotional effect of Russell (Core Affect) is based on the 16 main representatives emotion. Thus, the image recognition sensitivity and compares the number size. Depending on the magnitude of the sensitivity scores demonstrate this sensitivity must change. Compare the way the images are divided up the top five of emotion recognition emotion emotions associated with 16 representatives, and representatives analyzed the concentrated emotion sizes. Future studies are needed emotional computing method of calculation to be more similar sensibility and human emotion recognition.
As interests in 360-degree VR (Virtual Reality) video services enormously grow, compression and streaming technologies for VR video data have been rapidly developed. Quality Emphasized Region (QER) based streaming scheme has been developed as a kind of viewport-adaptive 360-degree video streaming technology for maintaining immersive experience and reducing bandwidth waste. For selecting a QER corresponding to the user's gaze coordinate, QER-based streaming scheme requires the calculation of Quality Emphasis Center (QEC) distance and signaling message delivery for requesting QER switching. QEC distance calculations require high computational complexity because of repeated calculations as many times as the number of QERs. Furthermore, the signaling message interval results in a trade-off relationship between efficient bandwidth usage and flexible QER switching. In this paper, we propose an improved QER selection algorithm based on MMT protocol to solve this problem. The proposed algorithm could achieve computational complexity reduction by using preprocessed QER_ID_MAP. Also, flexible QER switching could be achieved, as well as efficient bandwidth utilization by an adaptive adjustment of the signaling interval.
This study analyzes the current status of how to manage the national R&D program and the systematic problems of R&D planning, evaluation, and management, and then shows the strategy to support special agency of national R&D management for effective operation. Additionally, this study seeks to search for the macro methods to coordinate and to develop the roles and functions of special agency of national R&D management, and to promote efficiency and productivity of the National R&D investment. First of all, this study generally introduces the national R&D and surveys each special agency of national R&D management by analyzing the status of each agency charged by Ministry. Also, this study defines special agency of national R&D management by investigating each agency's status based on law and finds out the strategy to support special agency of national R&D management for effective operation. Each special agency of national R&D management is based on acts, administrative orders, or blanket contracts and takes whole charge of each National R&D program. The organization forms of special agency of national R&D management can be classified into two forms: One is a form to plan, to evaluate, and to manage the National R&D program and other is a form to research program together with the functions of planning, evaluation, and management. Therefore, this study defines special agency of national R&D management as "an organization, having a legal basis(acts, administrative orders), funded and charged by government for executing R&D planning, evaluation and management of R&D program." This study shows the strategy to operate special agency of national R&D management efficiently by analyzing each agency's current status and comparing each agency with each other. Moreover, every agency has a committee member pool, and the pool is classified well according to the fields of work and technology. Also, the special agency of national R&D management has its own organization to manage performances of program.

This thesis is the final report which has long been studied by the author to obtain the design basis for various hydrological constructions with the specific system suitable to the natural environmental conditions in Korea. This report is divided into two parts: one is to estimate runoff volume from watersheds and the other to estimate the peak discharge for a single storm. According to the result of observed runoff record from watersheds, it is known that Kajiyama formula is useful instrument in estimating runoff volume from watersheds in this country. But it has been found that this formula shows us 20-30% less than the actual flow. Therefore, when wihed to bring a better result, the watershed characteristics coefficient in this formula, that is, f-value, should be corrected to 0.5-0.8. As for the method to estimate peak discharge from drainage basin, the author proposes to classify it in two ways; one is small size watershed and the other large size watershed. The maximum -flood discharge rate $Q_p$ and time to peak Pt obtained from the observed record on the small size watershed are compared by various methods and formulas which are based upon the modern hydrological knowledge. But it was fou.d that it. was not a satisfied result. Therefore, the author proposes. tocomputate $Q_p$, to present 4.0-5.0% for the total runoff volume ${\Sigma}Q$.${\Sigma}Q$ is computed under the assumption of 30mm 103s in watershed per day and to change the theoritical total flow volume to one hour dura tion total flow rate when design daily storm is given. Time to peak Pt is derived from three parameters which are u,w,k. These are computed by relationship between total runoff volume (ha-m unit)and $Q_p$. (C.M.S. unit). Finally, the author checked out these results obtained from 51 hydrographs and got a satisfied result. Therefore the author suggested the model of design dimensionless unit-hydrograph. And the author believes that this model will be much available at none runoff record river site. In the large size watersheds in Korea when the maximum discharge occurs, the effective rainfall is two consequtive stormy days. So the loss in watershed was assutned as 6Omm/2days,and the author proposed 3-hour-daration hydrograph flow distribution percentage. This distribution percentage will be sure to form the hydrograph coordinate.
The behavior of horizontally curved I-girder bridges is complex because the flexural and torsional behavior of curved girders are coupled due to their initial curvature. Also, the behavior is affected by cross beams. To investigate the behavior of horizontally curved I-girder bridges, it is necessary to consider curved girders with cross beams. In order to perform free vibration analyses of horizontally curved I-girder bridges, a finite element formulation is presented here and a finite element analysis program is developed. The formulation that is presented here consists of curved and straight beam elements, including the warping degree of freedom. Based on the theory of thin-walled curved beams, the shape functions of the curved beam elements are derived from homogeneous solutions of the static equilibrium equations. Third-order hermits polynomials are used to form the shape functions of the straight beam elements. In the finite element analysis program, global stiffness and mass matrix are composed, based on the Cartesian coordinate system. The Gupta method is used to efficiently solve the eigenvalue problem. Comparing the results of several examples here with those of previous studies, the formulation presented is verified. The validity of the program developed is shown by comparing results with those analyzed by the shell element.
In this study, the on-site location identification and response system was proposed by accurately checking the location information of rescue requesters in the buildings using the smartphone Wi-Fi AP. The location server was requested to measure the strength of the Wi-Fi AP at least 25 times at 8 different building location points. And the accuracy of the position and the error range were checked by analyzing the coordinate values of the received positions. In addition, the response time was measured by changing the conditions of location information in three groups to compare the response time for saving lives with and without location information. The minimum and maximum error values for the eight cases were found to be at least 4.137 m and up to 14.037 m, respectively, with an average error of 9.525 m. Compared to the base transceiver station (BTS) based position error value of 263m, the range could be reduced by up to 93%. When the location information was given, it took 10 minutes and 50 seconds to save lives; however, when there was no location information at all, rescue process took more than 45 minutes. From this research effort, it was analyzed that the acquisition of the location information of rescuees in the building using the smartphone Wi-Fi AP approach is effective in reducing the life-saving time for on-site responses.

Images captured by drone have the advantage of quickly constructing spatial information in small areas and are applied to fields that require quick decision making. If an image registration technique that can automatically register the drone image on the ortho-image with the ground coordinate system is applied, it can be used for various analyses. In this study, a methodology for geo-referencing of a single image and sequential images using drones was proposed even if they differ in spatio-temporal resolution using linear features and distinct points. Through the method using linear features, projective transformation parameters for the initial geo-referencing between images were determined, and then finally the geo-referencing of the image was performed through the template matching for distinct points that can be extracted from the images. Experimental results showed that the accuracy of the geo-referencing was high in an area where relief displacement of the terrain was not large. On the other hand, there were some errors in the quantitative aspect of the area where the change of the terrain was large. However, it was considered that the results of geo-referencing of the sequential images could be fully utilized for the qualitative analysis.
Objective : The functional information of $^{11}C$-methionine positron emission tomography (MET-PET) images can be applied for Gamma knife radiosurgery (GKR) and its image quality may affect defining the tumor. This study conducted the phantom-based evaluation for geometric accuracy and functional characteristic of diagnostic MET-PET image co-registered with stereotactic image in Leksell $GammaPlan^{(R)}$ (LGP) and also investigated clinical application of these images in metastatic brain tumors. Methods : Two types of cylindrical acrylic phantoms fabricated in-house were used for this study : the phantom with an array-shaped axial rod insert and the phantom with different sized tube indicators. The phantoms were mounted on the stereotactic frame and scanned using computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and PET system. Three-dimensional coordinate values on co-registered MET-PET images were compared with those on stereotactic CT image in LGP. MET uptake values of different sized indicators inside phantom were evaluated. We also evaluated the CT and MRI co-registered stereotactic MET-PET images with MR-enhancing volume and PET-metabolic tumor volume (MTV) in 14 metastatic brain tumors. Results : Imaging distortion of MET-PET was maintained stable at less than approximately 3% on mean value. There was no statistical difference in the geometric accuracy according to co-registered reference stereotactic images. In functional characteristic study for MET-PET image, the indicator on the lateral side of the phantom exhibited higher uptake than that on the medial side. This effect decreased as the size of the object increased. In 14 metastatic tumors, the median matching percentage between MR-enhancing volume and PET-MTV was 36.8% on PET/MR fusion images and 39.9% on PET/CT fusion images. Conclusion : The geometric accuracy of the diagnostic MET-PET co-registered with stereotactic MR in LGP is acceptable on phantom-based study. However, the MET-PET images could the limitations in providing exact stereotactic information in clinical study.
