Cooperative Path Planning of Dynamical Multi-Agent Systems Using Differential Flatness Approach

  • This paper discusses a design methodology of cooperative path planning for dynamical multi-agent systems with spatial and temporal constraints. The cooperative behavior of the multi-agent systems is specified in terms of the objective function in an optimization formulation. The path of achieving cooperative tasks is then generated by the optimization formulation constructed based on a differential flatness approach. Three scenarios of multi-agent tasking are proposed at the cooperative task planning framework. Given agent dynamics, both spatial and temporal constraints are considered in the path planning. The path planning algorithm first finds trajectory curves in a lower-dimensional space and then parameterizes the curves by a set of B-spline representations. The coefficients of the B-spline curves are further solved by a sequential quadratic programming solver to achieve the optimization objective and satisfy these constraints. Finally, several illustrative examples of cooperative path/task planning are presented.

Conceptual Clothing Design Process Using Cooperative Learning Strategies: Senior Clothing Design Class

  • This paper identified the source of inspiration to cooperatively design a fashion collection from US undergraduate clothing design students and addressed how to implement team-based learning strategy to conceptual clothing design in class. Data was collected from the total of 51 students in a senior clothing design course at a large 4-year university in the US. The assigned project for this class was to develop a group collection under a same theme. Each student worked with his/her team member(s) to create an outfit and the entire class worked as a group to create a cohesive collection. The study showed that the sources of inspiration for the themes/concepts came from 11categories: historic era/old Hollywood glamour, shape/line/structure/architectural, fairy tales movies, nature/abstract, circus/mysterious, occasion/place, object, designer/artist, futuristic, culture, and various movies. To implement cooperative learning strategies in the clothing design class, a total of five class presentation/discussion sessions were held for theme/concept decision, fabric decision, design decision, test garment evaluation and design modification, and final products. Throughout the design process, team-based learning strategy promoted students' engagement and participation and inspired their critical thinking skills for making decisions within a team.

A Cooperative Coevolutionary Algorithm for Optimizing a Reverse Logistics Network Model (역물류 네트워크 모델의 최적화를 위한 협력적 공진화 알고리즘)

  • We consider a reverse logistics network design problem for recycling. The problem consists of three stages of transportation. In the first stage products are transported from retrieval centers to disassembly centers. In the second stage disassembled modules are transported from disassembly centers to processing centers. Finally, in the third stage modules are transported from either processing centers or a supplier to a manufacturer, a recycling site, or a disposal site. The objective is to design a network which minimizes the total transportation cost. We design a cooperative coevolutionary algorithm to solve the problem. First, the problem is decomposed into three subproblems each of which corresponds to a stage of transportation. For subproblems 1 and 2, a population of chromosomes is constructed. Each chromosome in the population is coded as a permutation of integers and an algorithm which decodes a chromosome is suggested. For subproblem 3, an heuristic algorithm is utilized. Then, a performance evaluation procedure is suggested which combines the chromosomes from each of two populations and the heuristic algorithm for subproblem 3. An experiment was carried out using test problems. The experiments showed that the cooperative coevolutionary algorithm generally tends to show better performances than the previous genetic algorithm as the problem size gets larger.

  • This paper deals with the problem of self-learning cooperative motion control for the pushing task of a humanoid robot in the sagittal plane. A model with 27 linked rigid bodies is developed to simulate the system dynamics. A simple genetic algorithm(SGA) is used to find the cooperative motion, which is to minimize the total energy consumption for the entire humanoid robot body. And the multi-layer neural network based on backpropagation(BP) is also constructed and applied to generalize parameters, which are obtained from the optimization procedure by SGA, in order to control the system.

  • In Korea construction project case, architectural construction project is curtailed production because information network process within multidisciplinary isn't smooth. Particularly, the construction is not insufficient about performance, cost and material, construction process, etc. in result various question arises because of design error in construction step. And various mistake is made because communication path within multidisciplinary isn't smooth in architectural design and design change process. Therefore The final object of this study is to propose the establishment method of decision support model for the cooperative design in order to provides improved design coordination and optimize the building system.

  • This study discusses how players make the mutually cooperative mechanism in Social Games. In SNG, many players exchange helps each other. That mechanism is not only one-off but also repetitive process. In the perspective of reciprocity in Evolutionary psychology and Mythology, this study analyzes mutual cooperation in several game texts most well known in the SNG field. According to the field study results, four cooperative mechanisms were extracted. These 4 principles apply to every digital game design for emerging of cooperative storytelling among players.

  • This paper addresses a network design problem in a supply chain system that involves locating both plants and distribution centers, and determining the best strategy for distributing products from the suppliers to the plants, from the plants to the distribution centers and from the distribution centers to the customers. This paper suggests a cooperative coevolutionary algorithm (CCEA) approach to solve the model. First, the problem is decomposed into three subproblems for each of which the chromosome population is created correspondingly. Each chromosome in each population is represented as a permutation denoting the priority. Then an algorithm generating a solution from the combined set of chromosomes from each population is suggested. Also an algorithm evaluating the performance of a solution is suggested. An experimental study is carried out. The results show that our CCEA tends to generate better solutions than the previous CCEA as the problem size gets larger and that the permutation representation for chromosome used here is better than other representation.

Design and Implementation of 3DoF Manipulator with Cable-Hydraulic Driven Actuation for Cooperative Robot with High Output and Low Inertia (고출력 및 경량 협동로봇 위한 케이블-유압 구동 3자유도 매니퓰레이터 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper presents cable-hydraulic driven 3DoF (Degree-of-Freedom) manipulator for cooperative robot with high output/low inertia and enhancing lager workspace of hydraulic manipulator. Hydraulic actuation could be solution to design more higher output manipulator than the one of electric motor actuation due to install actuation source and robot joint separated. In spite of this advantage, the conventional hydraulic driven manipulator using cylinder or vane actuator is not suitable for the candidate of cooperative robot because smaller workspace owing to small RoM (Range of Motion) hydraulic actuator. In this paper, we propose 3DoF manipulator with cable-hydraulic actuation which is more larger ratio of payload-to-weight than the one of conventional cooperative manipulator and larger workspace than the one of existing hydraulic driven manipulator. The performance of proposed manipulator was demonstrated by the experiments for confirming overall workspace task, high payload operation task under worst situation and comparing repeatability between developed manipulator and existed cooperative robots. The results of experiments showed that the appropriate performance of proposed manipulator for cooperative robot.

A Study on the Effects of Organizational Culture of Fisheries Cooperative on Empowerment and Organizational Effectiveness (수산업협동조합의 조직문화가 임파워먼트 조직유효성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study shows how the organizational culture of fisheries cooperative impacts with empowerment and organizational effectiveness. Result of this study would be utilized in organization management for fisheries cooperative. sample design is based on fisheries cooperative which are registered in korea from October 24 through November 17 in 2012. and total of 195 questionnaires are collected through a personal visit. The result of empirical analysis, organizational culture factor which have an effect on empowerment and organizational effectiveness is the biggest influence to them. At the same time. Sympathy of empowerment factor which have an effect on organizational effectiveness is the biggest influence to it.
