The Design of BCM based Power Factor Correction Control IC for LED Applications (LED 응용을 위한 BCM 방식의 Power Factor Correction Control IC 설계)

  • In this paper, a power factor correction (PFC) control circuit using single stage boundary conduction mode(BCM) for the 400V. 120W LED drive application has been designed. The proposed control circuit is aimed for improvement of the power factor correction and reduction of the total harmonic distortion. In this circuit, a new CMOS multiplier structure is used instead of a conventional BJT(bipolar junction transistor) based multiplier where has a relatively large area. The CMOS multiplier can bring 30 % reduced chip area, competitive die cost in comparison with the conventional BJT multiplier.

  • This paper deals with development of the driving-will control system in power-assisted electric wheelchair. Nowadays, population of elderly people has been increased rapidly, and also an electric wheelchair has been considered as the device for the elderly. Especially, power-assisted electric wheelchair can overcome problems that a conventional electric wheelchair holds, such as lack of movement of wheelchair user. In this paper, we propose the sensors system to measure the driving-will force and perform the control action for a power-assisted electric wheelchair. And motion performance of the proposed system is verified through the experiment.

  • In this paper, we describe an ontology-based context aware model that collects context information from USN sensor and CCTV image and reasons about context in order to development an integrated security control system in the industrial environments. The context model represents autonomous and heterogeneous data as ontologies and recognizes the context through DL(description logic) inference in the smart computing environment. We expect that the integrated security control system can automatically detects the risk in the industrial field and reduces the safety and security incidents by applying this context model to the system.

  • Recently, the requirement of automation in the every fields of the industrial places has been increased remarkably. The shooting range systems in the Past have been designed on the basis of static circumstance. However, Various transformation of the shooting circumstances is required, since the target for real shooting situation not static. In this study we have established for targets Per one shooting line to realize the dynamic shooting circumstance, distributed shooting order into sequence and random ones. and accommodated the shooting time variably. And, we have done an efficient communication possible, using CAN(Controller Area Network) applied to a lot of the car and the building automation. The CAN can support real-time control efficiently by connecting multiple ECU(Electric Control Unit), since it provide the high data transfer rate and the stability of communication.

  • State feedback with integral control for a variable air volume(VAV) unit which is recently taken notice of for the energy efficiency and saving in the building is studied to investigate the performance of the digital control methodology for the possible practical application. The digital controller which acquires the targat zone temperature and the air flow rate of the supplied air to the zone controls the opening of the damper in the VAV unit. Simulation results are performed for the conditions including reference changes and external thermal variations. In the simulation. simplified conditioned zone and the damper actuator modelling is considered. and relationships between controller gain Parameters and the system dynamics are investigated.

  • In this paper, we show that our previously proposed second-order iterative learning control method with feedback is more effective and has better convergence performance than the second-order iterative learning control method without feedback, particularly in the case of the existence of initial condition errors. Also the convergence proof of the proposed method is given. And through the simulation result of applying the proposed method to the linear time-varying system, we show that our proposed method has enhanced robustness and stability in case of the existence of initial condition errors.

  • To control permanent magnet synchronous motors smoothly, it is important to know the exact parameter values of the stator resistance, various inductances, and the flux linkage of the permanent magnet. In practice, these parameters vary due to a variable operating point, temperature change, or a fault. This paper proposes a MRAS (Model Reference Adaptive System) based parameter estimator and adaptive control scheme. Owing to the non-linearity of the system equation with respect to these parameters, although many schemes proposed previously assumed that some parameters are known, all the parameters were assumed to be unknown. The simulation results revealed the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper presents an optimal operation control method for energy saving in the water reuse pumping system. A predictive horizon switching strategy is proposed to implement an optimal operation control and a linear programming (LP) algorithm is used to solve optimal problems in each time step. Energy costs are calculated for electricity on both TOU in the light, heavy, and maximum load time period and peak charges. The optimal operation in water reuse pumping systems is determined to reduce the TOU and peak costs. The simulation results show a power energy saving for water reuse pumping systems and power stability improvement.

  • Ladder Diagram(LD) or Sequential Function Chart(SFC) is used for the design of complex modern control system with Programmable logic controller(PLC). LD is the most widely utilized among PLC standard language. But recently, SFC is used frequently. SFC is very easy to grasp the sequential flow of control logic but is difficult for describing combinational logic. When the interrupt factor is occurred, the main program is stopped. And after the interrupt program is completed, the main program is restart. Therefore the more complex the interrupt program, the main program is interrupted downtime will be that much longer. In this paper, we propose the method for interrupt implementation without the dwell time of the main program by SFC language and confirm his feasibility through the simulation.

  • In this paper, we propose various types of AGC algorithms for implementing the OFDM communication systems. For the high-speed packet transmission, in this paper, we assume the OFDM system with relatively long and repeated preambles. We propose the maximum sample value counter for counting the number of maximum sample. In the maximum sample value counter, we use the buffer for the digital signal buffering. Finally, the counting value of the maximum sample value counter controls the gain control signal generator by using gain control table automatically.
