  • Heat pumps transfer heat by circulating a substance called a refrigerant through a cycle of evaporation and condensation. But Heat pumps system by only using heat-source is not efficient. Because the mean temperature of North Korean winter season is low, economy of air heat-source heat pump descend. This paper is practiced the simulation on evaluation criteria for Heat pump heating and cooling systems to Rolling Stock. Efficiency of the heat pump in order improving from certainly the development of the technique will be able to prevent a freezing actual condition must proceed. As a result, Below $-10^{\circ}C$ used heating and cooling systems of heat pump format even in cold winter season and is serviceable confirmed with heat source supply circle of the Rolling Stock.

  • In this study, the vertical type LPE system has been developed by fully hand-made. The temperature fluctuation and minimum cooling rate of this LPE system are within $\pm$0.05$^{\circ}C$ and 0.15$^{\circ}C$/min, respectively. It is considered that these properties are enough to grow III-V semiconductor compounds single crystals by liquid phase epitaxy method. Futhermore in this study. 1.3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ GaInAsP/InP single crystal growing has been carried out by this system. It has been obtained that the growing rate was about 0.72${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/min for InP binary layer and 0.36${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/min for GaInAsP quarternary layer under 0.6$^{\circ}C$/min cooling rate condition.

  • The present study measured frost pattern on a cylinder to propose empirical correlation equations for the local and average frost thickness, frost density and frost mass. The key parameters were diameter of the cylinders (7mm, 20mm), cooling surface temperature of the circular tube, absolute humidity of air, air temperature and air velocity. A 50% ethylene glycol aqueous solution was applied as a coolant. The frost thicknesses at both front and rear were larger than those at the other parts, while they were increased as diameter of the cylinder was increased. The local frost thicknesses at high air velocity were more uniform than those at low air velocity. The values predicted by Kim et al. under the freezer condition showed larger by the maximum of $30{\sim}50%$ than the measured data under heat pump condition. The empirical correlations for the local and average frost thickness and frost mass were proposed. The correlation equations for the frost thickness and frost mass under the heat pump condition in the present study might predict more accurate than the other correlation equations. The proposed correlations might be applied for the freezer condition within the maximum 15% deviation from the previous correlations under freezer condition.

  • The use of the electromagnetic clutch water pump for internal combustion engine vehicles saves fuel and leads to a reduction in emissions. The clutch water pump allows the engine cooling system to select the optimum operation condition by using coolant flow rate on/off control. This study investigated the characteristics of fuel consumption and emissions of the diesel engine cooling system using the clutch water pump. The electromagnetic clutch operation reduced by about 49% of engine warm up period at idle condition and controlled the optimum high coolant temperature at driving condition. Therefore, fuel consumption was enhanced by about 5%, and emissions such as HC, CO and $CO_2$ were also reduced to a certain degree even though NOx increased a little bit, compared to those of the conventional water pump under NEDC mode which represents the real driving pattern.

  • After initial structure of AISI 9260 steel is changed into pearlite and martensite, one is isothermally annealed at $700^{\circ}C$ below of $A_1$ transformation point and the other is isothermally annealed at the same condition after 3 cycles of heating and cooling between $680^{\circ}C$ and $780^{\circ}C$ of $A_1$ transformation point. Analyzing the changes of microstructure, mechanical properties and fractography of tension test, we obtained result as follows. The fastest spheroidization rate by changes of initial structure and heat treatment cycles is appeared at the heat treatment cycle which is isothermally annealed after 3 cycles of heating and cooling at below and above $A_1$ transformation point for martensite. At the above condition, the perfect spheroidization structure is appeared after 60hrs and after then, globular carbide is being coarsened. The mean diameter of globular carbide is $2.4{\times}10^{-3}mm$ after 90hrs. The changes of tension strength during spheroidization heat treatment follows Orwan function, ${\sigma}_o={\sigma}_i+Gb/l$, where l is interspacing of carbide particles and at the above condition, ${\sigma}_o=70.48+2.5{\times}10^{-3}/l(kg/mm^2)$. Fractography of fracture of spheroidization structure in tension test is appeared as dimple which is ductile rupture type by nucleation and growth of void, size of dimple is larger and deeper with increasing of heat treatment time.

  • In this study, the characteristics of cooling and rolling during strip casting process is obtained in comparison with the experimental and analytical results. The prupose of this study is to effectively analyze the thermal and mechanical deformation of roller applying the results of the heat transfer and the pressure distribution to boundary conditions. And then the relation between strip thickness and roll deformation is shown. The second purpose is to obtain the proper condition of the continuous casting for stainless steel. The summary and conclusions can be made on the basis of the results obtained by the theories and experiments. a) The strip casting condition for the fine surface quality of tin-alloy as-cast material was obtained in accordance with the velocity of roll rotation and initial roll gap. b) The experimental condition that the dimension of the cast strip thickness coincide with that of the initial roll gap was according to the experimental result of continuous casting by twin-roll type. c) The thermoelastic finite element model to calculate the roll deformation is represented. Thermoelastic model prediction for the roll deformation are in good agreement with the experimental results considering the thermal expansion of the roll. d) The higher cooling rates were obtained by a twin-roller quenching technique. Also quenched microstructure of the rapidly solidified shell was verified. e) The magnitude of roll deformation due to the thermal expansion and roll separating force is quantit- atively represented in the analysis of continuous casting for stainless steel.

  • Temperature distribution measured to estimate the condition of an electrical apparatus is an absolute reference for the apparatus conditions and the difference between the reference temperature and the current temperature. Because of passive thermography, without the external thermal stimulation, the difference in surface temperature between the region of interest and back ground shows that the results can apply only to the estimation or the monitoring for the condition of loose terminal and the overload pertaining to the rise in temperature. However, a thermal diffusion in the active thermography is differently generated by the structure and condition of the surface and subsurface. This paper presents a nondestructive test using this behavior and deals with the results by heat injection and cooling to the apparatus. The buried discontinuity of subsurface could be detected by these techniques.

  • In producing moldings by using an injection mold, several variables such as the metal mold and the condition of injection molding should be selected properly in order to obtain good quality of moldings. In this study, focussed are the mechanical properties of injection moldings, since many researches on injection have been focussed mainly on the molding quality, injection pressure, and bulk temperature but the properties of injection moldings have not been studied extensively. The mechanical properties of present injection moldings can be improved simply by changing the molding material and the injection conditon without changind the metal mold. To have the final products meet the specified molding quality and mechanical properties at the same time, the bulk temperature of injection, pressure variation, volumetric shrinkage, stress, and cooling should be analized by CAE(computer aided engineering) after injection mold design. In this paper, the effects of dischare condition on mechanical properties of injection moldings are studied by testing the moldings which are injected by varying injection conditions.

  • In this experiment study, to acquire elementary data for explaining to generate frost layer in the fin - tube evaporator. the experiment condition is to supply air on 0.3m/s, 0.6m/s, 0.9m/s and inlet air temperature is 15$^{circ}C$, 20$^{circ}C$, 25$^{circ}C$ , supplied air relative humidity is 70%, 80, 90%. And brine temperature in the copper tube was kept -15$^{circ}C$ because, generally cooling temperature range is constantly -15$^{circ}C$ in the heat exchanger for air conditioning system. in conclusion, through this experiment, we did compare with frost layer and frost thickness in each condition and examine these data
