Multilingual Automatic Translation Based on UNL: A Case Study for the Vietnamese Language

  • In the field of natural language processing, Universal Networking Language (UNL) has been used by various researchers as an inter-lingual approach to automatic machine translation. The UNL system consists of two main components, namely, EnConverter for converting text from a source language to UNL, and DeConverter for converting from UNL to a target language. Currently, many projects are researching how to apply UNL to different languages. In this paper, we introduce the tools that are UNL's applications and discuss how to reuse them to encode a Vietnamese sentence into UNL expressions and decode UNL expressions into a Vietnamese sentence. The testing was done with about 1,000 Vietnamese sentences (a dictionary that includes 4573 entries and 3161 rules). In addition, we compare the proportion of sentences translated based on a direct method (Google Translator) and another one based on UNL.

  • Converting technology has developed to print information for the decades. Recently, this technology (like gravure, gravure-offset) is rising as an alternative way for mass production of printed electronics such as RFID, solar cell. For the width of printing line is under 10 microns, registration error should be minimized less than several microns. Tension disturbance is main cause of registration error and this should be minimized before the substrate is transported into printing zone. With PI controller, it is possible to suppress the disturbance within 2% of operating tension. But register error appears more than 10 micron using PIcontroller considering noise. So LQG controller is needed as an alternative control method. In this paper, the comparision of PI and LQG controller in the converting machine including measured noise and tension disturbance is presented. It is shown that the LQG controller is more suitable for precision tension control in printed electronics.

  • This study includes noise automatic inspection system for washing machine auto-transmission one of modern home necessary. We effort to find and certificate sound noise source by sound power and sound intensity, and apply to frequency analysis in vibration related sound noise. still more we have been studying to data acquisition and programming for MS VisualBasic version 5.0. System component is below. 1) Pentium PC or data acquisition. 2) DSO for noise acquisition. 3)S/W for comparison and decision. 4) I/F Board for data communication. Wave form data through the DSO are converting to ASCII code data. The ASCII code through binary converting S/W. Finally we will making noise monitoring system and automatic inspection system.

  • SVM(Support Vector Machine) is a classification method which is recently watched in mechanical learning system. Vapnik, Osuna, Platt etc. had suggested methodology in order to solve needed QP(Quadratic Programming) to realize SVM so that have extended application field. SVM find hyperplane which classify into 2 class by converting from input space converter vector to characteristic space vector using Kernel Function. This is very systematic and theoretical more than neural network which is experiential study method. Although SVM has superior generalization characteristic, it depends on Kernel Function. There are three category in the Kernel Function as Polynomial Kernel, RBF(Radial Basis Function) Kernel, Sigmoid Kernel. This paper has analyzed performance of SVM against kernel using virtual data.

  • CCTV has been known to possess high level of objectivity and utility. Hence, the government has recently focused on replacing low quality CCTV with higher quality ones or even by adding high resolution CCTV. However, converting all existing low-quality CCTV to high quality can be extremely costly. Furthermore, low quality videos prior to CCTV replacement are likely to be of poor quality and thus not utilized correctly. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a method to improve videos quality of images using SRGAN(Super Resolution Generative Advisory Networks). Through experiments, we have proven that it is possible to improve low quality CCTV videos clearly. For this experiment, a total of 4 types of CCTV videos were used and 10,000 images were sampled from each type. Those images could then be used for machine learning. The fact that the pre-process for machine learning has been done manually and the long time that required for machine learning seems to be complementary.

  • NC code has to be made after changing the drawing information to DXF file, the converting file. Arranging the information ordered irregularly when DXF file is made decrease the unnecessary time of rapid feed during working and the DATA capacity when the information is changed. This CAM program can be used easely for the beginner of the minor enterprises. The connection of operations and the use of GUI increase business efficiency.

  • In this paper, We study on converting data transfer using Image processing method. In the program's code consist of outline trace, noise filtering methode, pont data smoothing, algorithm. We use those Algorithm to create Vectorized data file format from image data. This result can be utilized as a base part for development of Automatic recognition for mechanical drawings.

  • A converter topology which is capable of four-quadrant(motoring and generation) operation is proposed for the variable speed constant frequency(hereafter referred as VSCF) power conversion scheme. The new converter topology for the VSCF power conversion scheme is made of two functional stages. One is converting stage which consists of six switches and six diodes and it interfaces a three-phase 60Hz at supply and a single-phase variable-frequency ac source. The other is the commutating stage though which each phase-winding is energized.

  • In this study, we described voltage fluctuation characteristics of distribution line during starting and normal operation condition of the small hydro generators. Based on these theories, we scrutinized the starting and operating characteristics of induction generators installed in two small hydro power plants that is connected to the distribution line and researched necessary factors when selecting the generator type. The type of turbines and capacity of generators are different. One is below 1,000kW and the other is above 1,000kW. Two generators are tested during starting, and it acts as motor not generator at the instant that the machine is connected to the grid. After connecting to the grid, the machine rotates above synchronous speed before converting to the generator mode. Therefore the characteristic of the generator during starting is same as it of motor.
