에너지 전환 이상기능 기반 다구찌 동특성을 활용한 Fan Case 설계 (Fan Case Design using Energy Conversion Ideal Function Based Taguchi Dynamic Characteristics)

  • An electric-motor which uses electric energy to dry laundry in a dryer generates wind by rotating a fan. The roles of electric motor and fan are crucial for drying. To reduce the noises or vibration, their performances should be improved. However, it requires a relatively high cost to redesign them. In this case, redesigning the fan case rather than the motor or the fan would be easier and cheaper. This paper is to apply Taguchi dynamic characteristic concept with the ideal function of energy conversion to redesign the fan case. Not only the increase of the wind power but also the decrease of noise, vibration and the other side effects are resulted.

  • Neutron dose assessment in criticality accidents using Whole Body Counter (WBC) was proved to be an effective method as rapid neutron dose estimation at the JCO criticality accident in Tokai-mura. The 1.36MeV gamma-ray of $^{24}Na$ in a body can be detected easily by a germanium detector. The Minimum Detectable Activity (MDA) of $^{24}Na$ is approximately 50Bq for 10miniute measurement by the germanium-type whole body counter at JNC Tokai Works. Neutron energy spectra at the typical shielding conditions in criticality accidents were calculated and the conversion factor, whole body activity-to-organ mass weighted neutron absorbed dose, corresponding to each condition were determined. The conversion factor for uncollied fission spectrum is 7.7 $[(Bq^{24}Na/g^{23}Na)/mGy]$.

  • 본 연구에서는 임의시간 환산계수(Conversion Factor, CF)와 관련하여 거의 유일한 이론적 연구인 Weiss 모형을 자세히 검토하고, 그 문제점을 보완한 수정 Weiss 모형을 제안하였다. 특히, 임의시간 환산계수를 이론적인 방법을 통해 산정하는 과정에서 강우 지속기간과 강우 시간분포의 특성을 반영하지 못하는 한계를 극복하는 시도의 하나로서 강우의 시간분포 특성을 고려하여 CF를 결정하였다. 이를 실제 관측 자료에 근거한 국내 외 CF값들과 비교해본 결과, 수정 Weiss 모형을 근거로 산정한 CF값은 강우 시간분포의 특성에 영향을 받으며 그 형태에 따라 다양한 값이 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다.

Medicare의 SGR을 우리나라에 도입하기 위한 전제 (The Success requirement of implementing Medicare's SGR in Korea)

  • Medicare에서는 급증하는 진료비 증가를 통제하고 양질의 의료서비스를 제공하기 위하여 일종의 예산통제시스템인 SGR을 도입하여 시행하고 있다. SGR에 대한 비판이 있긴 하나 진료비 급증을 통제하는데 나름대로 기여한 것으로 평가받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 노인인구증가, 급여율 증가 등으로 의료비가 급증하고 있는 우리나라의 현 상황에서 Medicare의 SGR의 의미, 문제점을 살펴보고 수가계약제가 시행되고 있는 우리의 경우 성공적으로 SGR을 적용하기 위한 전제 조건 등을 살펴본다.

고밀도 디스크 드라이브를 위한 디스크 두께와 Pemto 슬라이더가 PES에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Disk Thickness and Pemto Slider on Position Error Signal for High TPI Hard Disk Drive)

  • This paper investigates the effects of disk thickness and Pemto slider on PES(position error signal) for high TPI(track per inch) drives above 150kTPI at early stage of their development. In order to reduce the disk flutter which becomes a dominant contributor to the TMR, the thicker disks with both 63 and 69mi1 have been used. Also, PES of a Pemto slider with thinner thickness than Pico slider has been estimated to decrease the conversion factor of disk motion in axial direction to head off-track motion. A frequency-domain PES estimation and prediction tool has been developed via measurement of disk flutter and HSA(head stack assembly) forced vibration. It has been validated by the measured PES in drive level. Based on the model and measurement of disk flutter, PES of a drive with the thicker disk and Pemto slider is predicted and their impact is investigated.

  • In order to improve the overall power conversion efficiency, it is very important to reduce the interface resistance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). In this approach, tiny $TiO_2$ nanoparticles with the primary size of 10~20nm were synthesized and deposited between FTO glass and preformed $TiO_2$ layer by $TiOCl_2$ treatment, and also Pt catalysts were deposited on the counter electrode by both ion-sputter and thermal deposition to reduce the electrolyte-counter electrode interface resistance. The influence of these processes on the performace of DSSCs were discussed in terms of fill factor, short circuit current, and conversion efficiency.

  • Diode and thyristor-based bridge converter have been used for ac/dc conversion. Comparatively, diode bridges are simpler, more robust, less expensive and have a better power factor. However when voltage regulation is required, the thyristor-based phase-controlled converter have been used. But their use is limited by the low power factor and considerable harmonics in the input and output. An ac/dc power conversion scheme capable of fine output voltage control is investigated in this paper.

Uncertainty and Sensitivity Analysis on A Biosphere Model

  • For the performance assessment of the radioactive waste disposal system (repository), a biosphere model is suggested. This biosphere model is intended to calculate the annual doses to man caused by the contaminated river water for eight pathways and four radionuclides. This model can also be applied to assess the radiological effects of contaminated well water. To account for the uncertainties on the model parameter values, parameter distributions are assigned to these model parameters. Then, Monte Carlo simulation method with Latin Hypercube sampling technique is used. Also, sensitivity analysis is performed by using the Spearman rank correlation coefficients. It is found that these methods are a very useful tool to treat uncertainties and sensitivities on the model parameter values and to analyze the biosphere model. A conversion factor is proposed to calculate the annual dose rate to humans arising from a unit radionuclide concentration in river water. This conversion factor allows for the substitution of the biosphere model in a probabilistic performance assessment computer code by one single variable.

항공기 임무신뢰도 예측 방안 연구 (A Study on the Aircraft Mission Reliability Prediction)

  • This paper deals with OO aircraft mission reliability prediction. To demonstrate user-required mission reliability, it is calculated with use general formulae which are used in reliability engineering. The mission reliability of OO aircraft is calculated in considering conversion factor (CF) on the each subsystems' MTBF. The prediction results are explained only the state at present time. Because these data are not real data in operational environments. Therefore, in the case of OO aircraft, it has to be needed collecting the real and renewal data which are operational and empirical. After that, continuing the data upgrading, it is easily closed to the more exact reliability value.

  • Due to several advantages of Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) Converter, such as unity power factor operation, elimination of low-order harmonics and regeneration of motor braking energy to source, the application range of PWM Converter has been rapidly extended in industrial application. Nowadays, vector control algorithm and space vector PWM(SVPWM) method are applied to improve the performances of PWM Converter, but vector control algorithm and SVPWM require to use Microprocessor and other digital devices in hardware, causing costly and somewhat large dimension system. In every practical application of energy conversion equipments, the design and implementation should be carried out considering cost and performance. High performance and low cost is the best choice for energy conversion equipments. So, this paper presents the practical design method and implementation results of 3-phase PWM Converter with analog hysteresis current controller, and verifies the performances of unit power factor operation and energy regeneration operation via experimental results.
