Recent Advancements in Smart Bandages for Wound Healing

  • Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process, making the accurate and timely assessment of skin wounds a crucial aspect of effective wound care management, especially for chronic wounds. Unlike conventional wound dressings that simply cover the wound area once some form of medicine is administered onto the wound, recent studies have introduced versatile approaches to smart wound dressings capable of interacting with wound fluids to monitor physicochemical and pathological parameters to determine the wound healing status. Such electrochemical wound dressings can be integrated with on-demand, closed-loop drug delivery or stimulation systems and ultimately expanded into an ideal technological platform for the prevention, treatment, and management of skin wounds or illnesses. This article briefly reviews the wound healing mechanism and recent strategies for effective wound care management. Specifically, this review discusses the following aspects of smart wound dressings: sensor-integrated smart bandages to detect wound biomarkers, smart bandages developed to accelerate wound healing, and wireless, closed-loop automatic (on-demand) wound healing systems. This review concludes by providing future perspectives on effective wound care management.

  • Converging-diverging 노즐은 시스템 내부 유동에 적용되는 속도면적 법칙을 통해, 아음속 유동을 초음속으로 만드는 장치이며, 항공기 엔진 등에서 추력을 얻기 위해 쓰인다. 이상기체, 등 엔트로피를 가정한 동일 입구 조건에서, 출구로 빠져나오는 유동의 속도는 오직 면적 비에만 관계한다. 그러나 실제현상에서는, 출구에서의 유속이 유동의 압축성 효과 및 벽면에서의 전단력 등으로 인해 노즐 형상마다 상이한 결과를 낳는다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON Simulation을 활용하여 다양한 노즐 형상에 따른 출구에서의 Mach number를 구하고, 각각의 결과로부터 경향성을 찾는다. 또, 계산 결과를 이론식을 통해 도출되는 결과와 비교한다.

Energy barrier of nanomagnet with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

  • We investigate the field-dependence of energy barrier for various cell diameters and two type of geometry through the NEB method. We find that the energy barrier can depend strongly on the cell size when the switching is governed by the domain wall motion. Moreover we also examine the cell size dependence of energy barrier for two type of cell geometry. In the presentation, we will discuss the effect of domain wall formation and more various cell size on the energy barrier in detail.

  • We investigate the switching current for various cell diameters and DM interaction. We find that the current density for switching can depend strongly on the cell size when the switching is governed by the domain wall motion. Moreover the switching current density is also strongly influenced by DM interaction. In the presentation, we will discuss the effect of domain wall formation and more various DMI constant on the switching current desity in detail.

  • We investigate effect of a point defect on the pinning potential for a perpendicular magnetic domain wall based on the NEB method. We find that this method can give a reasonable value for the pinning potential and allows us to study the effect of various geometrical and magnetic properties on the pinning potential. In the presentation, we will discuss the effect of Ku and wire width on the pinning potential in detail.

타원형 압전 에너지 하베스터의 기계적 모델링 연구 (Study of Mechanical Modeling of Oval-shaped Piezoelectric Energy Harvester)

  • Energy harvesting is an advantageous technology for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) that dispenses with the need for periodic replacement of batteries. WSNs are composed of numerous sensors for the collection of data and communication; hence, they are important in the Internet of Things (IoT). However, due to low power generation and energy conversion efficiency, harvesting technologies have so far been utilized in limited applications. In this study, a piezoelectric energy harvester was modeled in a vibration environment. This harvester has an oval-shaped configuration as compared to the conventional cantilever-type piezoelectric energy harvester. An analytical model based on an equivalent circuit was developed to appraise the advantages of the oval-shaped piezoelectric energy harvester in which several structural parameters were optimized for higher output performance in given vibration environments. As a result, an oval-shaped energy harvester with an average output power of 2.58 mW at 0.5 g and 60 Hz vibration conditions was developed. These technical approaches provided an opportunity to appreciate the significance of autonomous sensor networks.
