A Method for Measuring the Difficulty of Music Scores

  • While the difficulty of the music can be classified by a variety of standard, conventional methods are classified by the subjective judgment based on the experience of many musicians or conductors. Music score is difficult to evaluate as there is no quantitative criterion to determine the degree of difficulty. In this paper, we propose a new classification method for determining the degree of difficulty of the music. In order to determine the degree of difficulty, we convert the score, which is expressed as a traditional music score, into electronic music sheet. Moreover, we calculate information about the elements needed to play sheet music by distance of notes, tempo, and quantifying the ease of interpretation. Calculating a degree of difficulty of the entire music via the numerical data, we suggest the difficulty evaluation of the score, and show the difficulty of music through experiments.

  • Process sequence design in sheet metal forming process by the finite element method is investigated. The forming of sheet metal into a washing machine container is used to demonstrate the design of an improved process sequence which has fewer operations. The design procedure makes extensive use of the finite element method which has simulation capabilities of elastic-plastic modeling. A one-stage process to make an initial blank to the final product is simulated to obtain information on metal flow requirements. Loading simulation for a conventional method is also performed to evaluate the design criteria which are uniform thickness distribution around the finished part and maximum punch load within limit of available press capacity. The newly designed sequence has two forming operations and can achieve net-shape manufacturing, while the conventional process sequence has three forming operations. This specific case conventional process sequence has three forming operations. This specific case can be considered for application of the method and for development of the sequence design methodology in general.

원통의 2단 인장드로잉 성형에 관한 연구 (A Study of Cup forming by double Stretch-Drawing Process)

  • It is clearly demonstrated that deeper cups could be formed by single and double stretch-drawings from smaller circular blanks due to such wall-thinning action than in the usual deep-drawing of larger blanks. From this fact, it is emphasized that the deep-drawability of a sheet metal Is not evaluated simply by the conventional L.D.R (limiting drawing ratio), but the depth of the drawn cup should also be taken into account. Many experimental data about various metals and thicknesses given in this paper offer a valuable information in this process for more general use which recommends to replace the conventional deep-drawing process by the stretch-drawing process both for single and double operations. In the single stretch-drawing, it is also confirmed that a deeper cup can be produced by raising the blank-holding force at later stage of operation.

  • 본 논문은 마이크로소프트 엑셀에서 데이터 분할 알고리즘을 이용한 효율적인 데이터 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 엑셀에서 VBA 기능을 이용하여 해당 데이터를 빠르게 검색하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 알고리즘은 찾고자 하는 데이터가 있는 시트를 지정하게 된다. 해당 시트가 지정이 되고나면 해당 시트 내의 데이터에 대한 시작과 끝을 찾게된다. 시작 셀의 위치에서부터 원하는 키워드와 중간 값을 비교하게 된다. 이런 식으로 데이터 끝까지 검색을 하게 된다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘을 실제 VBA 프로그램을 이용하여 구현하고 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과 기존의 방식과 비교했을 때 일반적인 순차 검색 방식보다 성능이 좋음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Fundamental and informative data of axi-symmetric stretch-drawing of several sheetmetals with thicknesses of 0.7-1.0mm are presented both for single and double operations. Very small radius is applied to the die profile (or-shoulder) ion all operations. to induce wall-thinning by the effect of bending-under-tension from which the name 'stretch-drawing' comes.   • Polysilicon resistors with high thermal stability have been fabricated by a new mixed process using POCl$_{3}$ doping and arsenic implantation. Varous temeprature coefficients, which range form 510 ppm/.deg. C to -302 ppm/.deg. C, were shown from the fabricated polysilicon resistors with sheet resistance of 58~107 .ohm./sq in the operating temeprature of 27~150.deg. C. The temperature coefficient of the polysilicon resistor by the mixed technology was about 4.3 times as low compared to the conventional polysilicon resistor using POCl$_{3}$ doped single process with the same sheet resistance of 75.ohm./sq. In addition, the mixed technology can be applied to obtain nearly zero temperature coefficient for polysilicon resistors which are reliable and insensitive to temperature.

  • High value sheet resistance (Rs' 1K-33K\ulcorner/) polysilicon resistors were fabricated using double ion implantation with boron as the major dopant and phosphorus compensation. It is observed that Rs sensitivity to the net doping concentration is decreased by one order of magnitude compared to the conventional (boron implanted)polysilicon resistors. The temperature co-efficient of resistance (TCR) measured between 25\ulcorner and 125\ulcorner shows equivalent values to those of non-compensated resistors for the same Rs. A qualitative electrical conductiion mechanism for compensated polysilicon resistor is proposed, based on the existing grain boundary charge trapping theory.

  • 전적으로 수입에 의존하는 마크판독장치(OMR : Optical Mark Reader)와 문자판독장치(OCR : Optical Character Reader)는 Line scan 방식으로 급지장치가 복잡하며 용지에 제한을 받는 등의 단점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 방식인 CCD카메라와 디지타이져를 입력장치로 하여 영상처리와 패턴인식에 근거한 마크와 숫자를 동시에 실시간 인식 가능한 일명 OMCR(Optical Mark and Character Reader) 시스템을 연구, 개발하였다. 또한 착오에 의하여 마크를 잘못 기입함으로써 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 개선하기 위한 표기방법으로 마크 대신에 제한된 7-segment의 및 필기체 숫자형식을 본 논문에서 제안하였다. 대학의 입학원서, 입시답안지, 수강신청, 성적평가표 및 주소에 대한 수만장의 마크용지와 영수증에 포함된 40개 이내인 인쇄체 숫자부분에 대한 문자용지를 실험대상으로 하였다. 실험결과, 마크용지와 문자용지 모두 판독 에러없이 초당 3~4장의 실시간 판독이 가능하였으며 line scan 방식의 OMR이나 OCR이 갖는 단점을 해결하였음을 입증하였다.

Improve the Transparency of Liquid Crystal Display Using Hybrid Conductive Films Based on Carbon Nanomaterials

  • We present highly transparent liquid crystal displays (LCDs) using hybrid films based on carbon nanomaterials, metal grid, and indium-tin-oxide (ITO) grid. Carbon based nanomaterials are used as transparent electrodes because of high transmittance. Despite of their high transmittance they have relatively high sheet resistance. To solve this problem, we applied grid and made hybrid conductive films based on carbon nanomaterials. Conventional photolithography processes were used to make a grid pattern of metal and ITO. To fabricate transparent conductive films, carbon nanotube (CNT) ink was spin coated on the grid pattern. The transparency of the conductive film was controlled by shape and size of the grid pattern and the thickness of CNT films. The optical transmittance of CNT-based hybrid films is 92.2% and sheet resistance is also reduced to $168{\Omega}/square$. These substrates were used for the fabrication of typical twisted nematic (TN) LCD cells. From the characteristics of LCD devices such as transmittance, operating voltage, voltage holding ratio our devices were comparable to those of pristine ITO substrates. The result shows that the hybrid conductive films based on carbon nanomaterials could be alternative of ITO for the highly transparent LCDs.
