지하공동구 터널내 풍속 변화에 따른 열특성에 관한 수치 해석적 연구 (A numerical study of the effects of the ventilation velocity on the thermal characteristics in underground utility tunnel)

  • 본 연구에서는 3면이 지중과 접하는 형태의 전력구에서 온도상승을 방지하기 위한 환기시스템 설계에 필요한 벽면에서 열전달계수 등 열설계 자료를 수치해석적인 방법으로 검토하였다. 수치해석 모델은 터널 벽체에서의 열전달을 고려하기 위해서 전력구의 터널의 라이닝을 포함하는 것으로 모델링하였으며, 전력구에 설치되는 전력케이블의 발열량(117~468 kW/km), 전력구내 풍속(0.5~4.0 m/s)에 따른 터널내 공기온도 및 벽체온도, 벽체를 통한 발열량을 CFD시뮬레이션에 의해서 구하였다. 또한 해석결과로부터 벽체열전달계수를 계산하고 환기구간의 터널내 공기온도를 유지하기 위한 한계거리를 검토하였다. 벽체표면에서 대류열전달계수는 입구영역에서는 불안정한 변화를 보이나 약 100 m정도의 이후에는 일정한 값에 수렴한다. 터널벽체열전달계수는 풍속에 따라 $3.1{\sim}9.16W/m^2^{\circ}C$정도이며, 이를 무차원식으로 표현하면 $Nu=1.081Re^{0.4927}({\mu}/{\mu}_w)^{0.14}$이 된다. 열저항 해석기법에 의해서 터널내 온도 예측방법을 제시하였으며, 약 3%이내의 편차로 예측이 가능한 것으로 평가되었다.

  • The KMA has cooperated with the Oklahoma University in USA to develop a Polarimetric Radar Data (PRD) simulator to improve the microphysical processes in Korea Local Analysis and Prediction System (KLAPS), which is critical for the utilization of PRD into Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) field. The simulator is like a tool to convert NWP data into PRD, so it enables us to compare NWP data with PRD directly. The simulator can simulate polarimetric radar variables such as reflectivity (Z), differential reflectivity ($Z_{DR}$), specific differential phase ($K_{DP}$), and cross-correlation coefficient (${\rho}_{hv}$) with input of the Drop Size Distribution (DSD) and scattering calculation of the hydrometeors. However, the simulator is being developed based on the foreign observation data, therefore the PRD simulator development reflecting rainfall characteristics of Korea is needed. This study analyzed a potential application of the 2-Dimension Video Disdrometer (2DVD) data by calculating the raindrop axis ratio according to the rain-types to reflect Korea's rainfall characteristics into scattering module in the simulator. The 2DVD instrument measures the precipitation DSD including the fall velocity and the shape of individual raindrops. We calculated raindrop axis ratio for stratiform, convective and mixed rainfall cases after checking the accuracy of 2DVD data, which usually represent the scattering characteristics of precipitation. The raindrop axis ratio obtained from 2DVD data are compared with those from foreign database in the simulator. The calculated the dual-polarimetric radar variables from the simulator using the obtained raindrop axis ratio are also compared with in situ dual-polarimetric observation data at Bislsan (BSL). 2DVD observation data show high accuracies in the range of 0.7~4.8% compared with in situ rain gauge data which represents 2DVD data are sufficient for the use to simulator. There are small differences of axis ratio in the diameter below 1~2 mm and above 4~5 mm, which are more obvious for bigger raindrops especially for a strong convective rainfall case. These differences of raindrop axis ratio between domestic and foreign rainfall data base suggest that the potential use of disdrometer observation can develop of a PRD simulated suitable to the Korea precipitation system.

포화상태에 놓인 C-Type 액체수소 탱크의 슬로싱이 열 유속과 BOG에 미치는 변화의 수치적 분석 (Numerical Study of Heat Flux and BOG in C-Type Liquefied Hydrogen Tank under Sloshing Excitation at the Saturated State)

  • 본 논문은 슬로싱 상태에 놓인 포화 상태 액체수소탱크에서 열 유속 및 BOG(Boil-off gas)의 경향을 다루고 있다. 특히, 액체-기체간의 침투 및 혼합에 의한 열 교환에 관심을 두었다. 먼저, VOF(Volume of fluid)와 Eulerian 기반의 다상 유동모델로 모형 슬로싱 실험을 모사하여 압력을 예측하고 계측된 값과 비교하였다. 자유 수면 및 충격 압력 실험 결과와 해석 결과를 비교하였으며, 유체의 속도 예측에서 정확할 수 있음을 간접적으로 증명하였다. 그리고 2차원의 Type-C 원통형 수소탱크를 대상으로 다상열유동해석을 수행하였다. 이때 포화상태에 놓인 액체 및 기체수소를 가정하고, 해석을 통해 각 상간의 혼합에 의한 열 교환의 수준을 확인하고자 하였다. 단, 상간의 열 교환만을 관심으로 두고 있었으므로 질량전달 및 기화모델은 해석에서 제외하였다. 최종적으로 상의 혼합으로 인해 액체수소로 유입되는 열 유속의 기여도에 대하여 정리하였다. 또한 액체수소로 유입되는 열 유속과 집중 질량 기반의 간이식을 통해 BOG 발생량 및 경향을 예측하고 분석하였다.

The Effect of Transverse Magnetic field on Macrosegregation in vertical Bridgman Crystal Growth of Te doped InSb

  • An investigation of the effects of transverse magnetic field and Peltier effect on melt convection and macrosegregation in vertical Bridgman crystal grosth of Te doped InSb was been carried out by means of microstructure observation, Hall measurement, electrical resistivity measurement and X-ray analysis. Before the experiments, Interface stability, convective instability and suppression of convection by magnetic field were calculated theoretically. After doping 1018, 1019 cm-3 Te in InSb, the temperature of Bridgman furnace was set up at $650^{\circ}C$. The samples were grown in I.D. 11mm, 100mm high quartz tube. The velocity of growth was about 2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec. In order to obtain the suppression of convection by magnetic field in the middle of growth, 2-4KG magnetic field was set on the melt. For searching of the shape of solid-liquid interface and the actual velocity of crystal growth, let 2A current flow from solid to liquid for 1second every 50seconds repeatedly (Peltier effect). The grown InSb was polycrystal, and each grain was very sharp. There was no much difference between the sample with and without magnetic field at a point of view of microstructure. For the sample with Peltier effect, the Peltier marks(striation) were observed regularly as expected. Through these marks, it was found that the solid-liquid interface was flat and the actual growth velocity was about 1-2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec. On the ground of theoretical calculation, there is thermosolutal convection in the Te doped InSb melt without magnetic field in this growth condition. and if there is more than 1KG magnetic field, the convection is suppressed. Through this experiments, the effective distribution coefficients, koff, were 0.35 in the case of no magnetic field, and 0.45 when the magnetic field is 2KG, 0.7 at 4KG. It was found that the more magnetic field was applied, the more convection was suppressed. But there was some difference between the theoretical calculation and the experiment, the cause of the difference was thought due to the use of some approximated values in theoretical calculation. In addition to these results, the sample with Peltier effect showed unexpected result about the Te distribution in InSb. It looked like no convection and no macrosegregation. It was thought that the unexpected behavior was due to Peltier mark. that is, when the strong current flew the growing sample, the mark was formed by catching Te. As a result of the phenomena, the more Te containing thin layer was made. The layer ruled the Hall measurement. The values of resistivity and mobility of these samples were just a little than those of other reference. It was thought that the reason of this result was that these samples were due to polycrystal, that is, grain boundaries had an influence on this result.

Ground-based model study for spaceflight experiments under microgravity environments on thermo-solutal convection during physical vapor transport of mercurous chloride

  • For $P_B=50Torr,\;P_T=5401Torr,\;T_S=450^{\circ}C,\;{\Delta}T=20K$, Ar=5, Pr=3.34, Le=0.01, Pe=4.16, Cv=1.05, adiabatic and linear thermal profiles at walls, the intensity of solutal convection (solutal Grashof number $Grs=7.86{\times}10^6$) is greater than that of thermal convection (thermal Grashof number $Grt=4.83{\times}10^5$) by one order of magnitude, which is based on the solutally buoyancy-driven convection due to the disparity in the molecular weights of the component A ($Hg_2Cl_2$) and B (He). With increasing the partial pressure of component B from 20 up to 800 Torr, the rate is decreased exponentially. It is also interesting that as the partial pressure of component B is increased by a factor of 2, the rate is approximately reduced by a half. For systems under consideration, the rate increases linearly and directly with the dimensionless Peclet number which reflects the intensity of condensation and sublimation at the crystal and source region. The convective transport decreases with lower g level and is changed to the diffusive mode at $0.1g_0$. In other words, for regions in which the g level is $0.1g_0$ or less, the diffusion-driven convection results in a parabolic velocity profile and a recirculating cell is not likely to occur. Therefore a gravitational acceleration level of less than $0.1g_0$ can be adequate to ensure purely diffusive transport.

항공기내 연료 및 오일온도 변화에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Analysis on Transient Temperatures of Fuel and Oil in a Military Aircraft)

  • A transient analysis on temperatures of fuel and oil in hydraulic and lubrication systems in an aircraft was studied using the finite difference method. Numerical calculation was performed by an explicit method with modified Dufort-Frankel scheme. Among various missions, air superiority mission was considered as a mission model with 20% hot day ambient condition in subsonic region. The ambience of the aircraft was assumed as turbulent flow. Convective heat transfer coefficient were used in calculating heat transfer between the aircraft surface and the ambience. For an aircraft on the ground, an empirical equation represented as a function of free-stream air velocity was used. And the heat transfer coefficient for flat plate turbulent flow suggested by Eckert was employed for in-flight phases. The governing equations used in this analysis are the mass and energy conservation equations on fuel and oils. Here, analysis of fuel and oil temperature in the engine was not carried out. As a result of this analysis, the ground operation phase has shown the highest temperature and the largest rate of temperature increase among overall mission phases. Also, it is shown that fuel flow rate through fuel/oil heat exchanger plays an important role in temperature change of fuel and oil. This analysis could be an important part of studies to ensure thermal stability of the aircraft and can be applicable to thermal design of the aircraft fuel system.

사염화탄소($CCl_4$) 소각을 위한 로타리 킬른 소각로 3차원 난류반응 컴퓨터 프로그램 개발( I ) (Development of a 3-Dimensional Turbulent Reaction Computer program for the Incineration of a Carbon Tetrachloride($CCl_4$) ( I ))

  • In this study, it is investigated that the possibility of the numerical simulation for the incineration of the hazardous material, crbon tetrachloride($CCl_4$). A 3-dimensional numerical technology is applied for turbulent reacting flows of the full-scale Dow Chemical incinerator. The calculations are made by a CRAY-2S, super computer. The major parameters considered in this study are kiln revolution rate (rpm), filling ratio of the solid waste(f), burner Injection velocity and angle, and turbulent air jets for swirl. And the employed turbulent reaction model is the eddy break-up model which is a kind of fast chemistry model assuming general equilibrium and used for a premixed flame. The calculated flow fields are presented and discussed. 1) The presence of turbulent air nozzles for swirl gives rise to visible increase of the convective motion over the region of the solid waste. This implies the possibility to enhance the mixing of the waste with the surrounding all and thereby to reduce thermal and species stratification, which were reported in a large rotary kiln operation. 2) Considering that the location of the recirculation region has a strong relation with the heating rate of the solid waste, the control of the recirculation region by the burner injection angle Is quite desirable in the sense of the flexible design of the rotary kiln incinerator for a carbon tetrachloride. 3) Finally, it is found that the eddy break-up model Is not suitable for carbon tetrachloride($CCl_4$) because this model is not incorporated the flame inhibition trend due to the presence $CCl_4$compound.

중거리에서 대류경계층 연직방향 plume 확산의 일반화 (Generalization of Vertical Plume Despersion in the concective Boundary Layer at Long Distances on Mesoscale)

  • In order to genralize the vertical dispersion of plume at long distances on mesoscale over complex terrain dispersion coefficients data have been obtained systematically according to lapsed time after release by using a composite turbulence water tank that simulates convective boundary layer. Dispersion experiments have been carried out for various combined conditions of thermal turbulence intensity mechanical turbulence intensity and plume release height at slightly to moderately unstable conditions. Results of tracer dispersion experiments conducted using water tank camera and image processing system have been converted into atmospheric dispersion data through the application of similarity law. The equation $\sigma$z/Zi=aX/(b+c X2)0.5 where $\sigma$2; vertical dispersion coefficient zi : mixing height X : dimen-sionaless downwind distance was confirmed to be an appropriate and general equation for expressing $\sigma$2 variation with turbulence intensity and plume release height, The value of "a" was found to be principally affected by mechanical turbulence intensity and that of "b" by mechanical turbulence intensity and release height. It was confirmed that the magnitude of "c" varies with release height. Results of water tank experiments on the relationship of $\sigma$2 vs downwind distance x have been compared with actual atmospheric dispersion data such as CONDORS data and Bowne's nomogram Operating conditions of a composite turbulence water tank for simulating the field turbulence situations of CONDORS experiments and Bowne's $\sigma$2(x) nomogram for suburban area have also been investigated in terms of water temperature difference between convection water tank and bottom plate heating tank grid plate stroke mixing water depth length scale and velocity scale. Moreover the effect of mechanical turbulence intensity on vertical dispersion has been discussed in the light of release height and downwind distance. height and downwind distance.

부력의 영향을 최소화한 조건에서 대향류 확산화염의 화염 소화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Flame Extinction in Buoyancy-minimized Counterflow Diffusion Flame)

  • Experiments were conducted to clarify role of the outermost edge flame on low-strain-rate flame extinction in buoyancy-suppressed non-premixed methane flames diluted with He and $N_2$. The use of He curtain flow produced a microgravity level of $10^{-2}-10^{-3}g$ in $N_2$- and He-diluted non-premixed counterflow flame experiments. The critical He and $N_2$ mole fractions at extinction with a global strain rate were examined at various burner diameters (10, 20, and 25 mm). The results showed that the extinction curves differed appreciably with burner diameter. Before the turning point along the extinction curve, low-strain-rate flames were extinguished via shrinkage of the outermost edge flame with and without self-excitation. High-strain-rate flames were extinguished via a flame hole while the outermost edge flame was stationary. These characteristics could be identified by the behavior of the outermost edge flame. The results also showed that the outermost edge flame was not influenced by radiative heat loss but by convective heat addition and conductive heat losses to the ambient He curtain flow. The numerical results were discussed in detail. The self-excitation before the extinction of a low-strain-rate flame was well described by a dependency of the Strouhal number on global strain rate and normalized nozzle exit velocity.

고가궤도에 근접한 자기부상열차 형상 주위의 3차원 난류유동에 대한 수치해석 (Computational Analysis of Three-Dimensional Turbulent Flow Around Magnetically Levitated Train Configurations in Elevated Track Proximity)

  • In the present study, the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations, together with the equations of the $k-{\varepsilon}$ model of turbulence, were solved numerically in a general body-fitted coordinate system for three-dimensional turbulent flows around the six basic shapes of the magnetically levitated train(MAGLEV). The numerical computations were conducted on the MAGLEV model configurations to provide information on shapes of this type very near the elevated track at a constant Reynolds number of $1.48{\times}10^{6}$ based on the body length. The coordinate system was generated by numerically solving a set of Poisson equations. The convective transport equations were discretized using the finite-analytic scheme which employed analytic solutions of the locally-linearized equations. A time marching algorithm was employed to enable future extensions to be made to handle unsteady and fully-elliptic problems. The pressure-velocity coupling was treated with the SIMPLER-algorithm. Of particular interests were wall effect by the elevated track on the aerodynamic forces and flow characteristics of the six models calculated. The results indicated that the half-circle configuration with extended sides and with smooth curvature of sides was desirable because of the low aerodynamic forces and pitching moment. And it was found that the separation bubble was occured at wake region in near the elevated track.
