  • Polysilicon thin-film transistors (poly-Si TFTs)는 능동행렬 액정 표시 소자(AMLCD : Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display)와 DRAM과 같은 메모리 분야에 폭넓게 적용이 가능하기 때문에 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 최근 poly-Si TFTs의 우수한 특성으로 인하여 주변 driving circuits에 직접화가 가능하게 되었다. 또한 디스플레이 LCD 패널에 controller와 메모리와 같은 다 기능의 장치을 직접화 하여 비용의 절감과 소자의 소형화가 가능한 SOP (System on panels)에 연구 또한 진행 되고 있다. 이미 잘 알려진 바와 같이 비휘발성 메모리는 낮은 소비전력과 비휘발성이라는 특성 때문에 이동식 디바이스에 데이터 저장 장치로 많이 사용되고 있다. 하지만 플로팅 타입의 비휘발성 메모리는 제작공정의 문제로 인하여 SOP의 적용에 어려움을 가지고 있다. SONOS 타입의 메모리는 빠른 쓰기/지우기 효율과 긴 데이터 유지 특성을 가지고 있으나 소자의 스케일링 따른 누설전류의 증가와 10년의 데이터 보존 특성을 만족 시킬 수 가 없는 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 SOP 적용을 위하여 ELA 방법을 통하여 결정화한 poly-Si TFT memory를 SiO2/Si3N4/SiO2 Tunnel barrier와 High-k HfO2과 Al2O3을 Trapping layer와 Blocking layer로 적용, 비휘발성 메모리을 제작하여 전기적 특성을 알아보았다.

MgO 증착을 위한 유도결합 플라즈마 마그네트론 스퍼터링에서 실시간 공정 진단 (A Real-Time Diagnostic Study of MgO Thin Film Deposition Process by ICP Magnetron Sputtering Method)

  • A real-time monitoring of ICP(inductively coupled plasma) assisted magnetron sputtering of MgO was carried out using a QMS(quadrupole mass spectrometer), an OES(optical emission spectrometer), and a digital oscilloscope with a high voltage probe and a current monitor. At the time of ICP ignition, the most distinct impurity was OH emission (308.9 nm) which was dissociated from water molecules. For reactive deposition oxygen was added to Ar and the OH emission intensity was reduced abruptly When the discharge voltage was regulated by a PID controller from 240V(metallic mode) to 120V(oxide mode), the emission intensity from Mg (285.2 nm) changed proportionally to the discharge voltage, but the intensity of Ar I(811.6 nm) was constant. At 100V of discharge voltage, Mg sputtering was almost stopped. Emissions from Ar I(420.1 nm) and Mg I were dropped down to 1/10, but Ar I(811.6 nm) didn't change. And the emission from atomic oxygen (O I, 777.3 nm) was increased to 10 times. These results are compatible with those from QMS study.

  • Expose equipment system that is used for manufacturing process of Flat Panel Display, is most important equipment in whole process. Expose equipment that is for making pattern of mask on substrate, consists of optical part, stage part and transport part. The stage is an important part that aligns mask and substrate for delivering pattern of mask to substrate exactly. In this paper, control system of expose stage that is able to use mask and substrate of diverse size, with PC controller using GUI interface instead of PLC control system. The existing PLC control system does not have the suitable structure for using mask of diverse size. GUI interface integration control system is based on PC. So it has the advantage of convenient use and active operation. We embodied PLC control system in integration control system based on PC, and verified utility possibility through the standard test course.

A Novel Control Algorithm of a Three-phase Four-wire PV Inverter with Imbalance Load Compensation Function

  • In this paper, the authors suggest a new control algorithm for a three-phase four-wire photovoltaic (PV) inverter with imbalance load compensation function using conventional proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The maximum power of PV panel is calculated by the MPPT control loop. The reference varying signals of current controllers are transformed to two different rotating frames where they become constant signals. Then simple PI controllers are applied to achieve zero steady-state error of the controllers. The proposed control algorithm are modeled and simulated with imbalance load configuration to verify its performance. The simulation results show that the maximum PV power is transferred to the grid and the imbalance power is compensated successfully by the proposed control algorithm. The inverter has a fast response (~4 cycles) during the transient period. The proposed control algorithm can be effectively utilized to the three-phase four-wire inverter with imbalance load compensation function.

스마트 제조를 위한 Cortex-M 기반 임베디드 시스템 개발 (Development of Embedded System Based Cortex-M for Smart Manufacturing)

  • Small-scale production control systems for smart manufacturing are becoming increasingly necessary as the manufacturing industry seeks to maximize manufacturing efficiency as the demand for customized product production increases. Correspondingly, the development of an embedded system to realize this capability is becoming important. In this study, we developed an embedded system based on an open source system that is cheaper than a widely applied programmable logic controller (PLC)-based production control system that is easier to install, configure, and process than a conventional relay control panel. This embedded system is system is based on a low-power, high-performance Cortex M4 processor and can be applied to smart manufacturing. It is designed to improve the development environment and compatibility of existing PLCs, control small-scale production systems, and enable data collection through heterogeneous communication. The real-time response characteristics were confirmed through an operation test for input/output control and data collection, and it was confirmed that they can be used in industrial sites.

  • 전원이나 CPU 같은 컴퓨팅 자원의 제약을 받는 임베디드 시스템의 경우, 데이터의 컴퓨터 화면 디스플레이로 인한 오버헤드는 시스템의 성능에 지대한 영향을 줄 수 있다. 본 논문은 ARM9 방식의 S3C2440A 마이크로프로세서가 내장된 LN2440SBC 시스템에서, LCD(liquid crystal display)의 구동을 위해 필요한 ARM 코어, LCD 컨트롤러, SPI(serial peripheral interface) 같은 LCD-구동 요소들의 초기화 방법을 설명한다. 또한 픽셀 디스플레이 함수와 디스플레이로 인한 오버헤드를 줄이기 위한 가상스크린을 이용한 디스플레이 방법을 소개한다. 가상스크린은 한 LCD 화면 디스플레이에 필요한 메모리 용량보다 매우 큰 용량의 메모리 공간으로서, 가상스크린 내의 특정 영역 디스플레이는 그 영역을 뷰포트(view port) 영역으로 지정함으로서 행해진다. 이 같은 가상스크린을 이용한 디스플레이는 임베디드 시스템에서 동시에 수행되는 여러 태스크들이 자신의 수행 결과를 생성하고 그 결과를 각기 화면에 출력하는 경우에 유용하며, 특히 각 태스크의 수행 결과 데이터가 모두 변경되지 않고 일부분만 변경되어 디스플레이 되는 경우에 더욱 그러하다. 이런 임베디드 시스템의 경우, 각 태스크들이 가상스크린의 메모리 영역을 효율적으로 나누어 사용할 경우 디스플레이 오버헤드를 최소화 할 수 있다. 가상스크린을 사용하는 경우와 아닌 경우의 성능 비교를 위해 두 개의 다른 이미지를 번갈아 가며 디스플레이하고 소요 시간을 측정했다. 그 결과 가상 스크린을 사용할 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 약 5배의 빠른 출력 속도를 보인다.

공동주택의 승강기 설비에 대한 오동작 원인 조사 및 고찰 (The Cause Analysis and Research of Malfunction for Elevator Equipment of the Apartment House)

  • 승강기 설치는 매년 약 15,000여 대씩 증가하고 있다. 승강기 증가에 따른 인명 사고 발생 및 갇힘, 급상승, 급정지, 층 표시 오류 등 승객의 불안감을 유발시킬 수 있는 오동작 사고가 크게 증가 하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이런 오동작 및 고장이 승강기 전원품질과 어느 정도 연관성이 있는지를 조사하기위해 승강기 보수업체의 승강기 보수일지 및 공동주택 관리소에서 관리하고 있는 승강기 보수일지와 2004년도 119 구조대가 승강기 갇힘 사건에 대해 구조한 장소에 설문조사를 토대로 사고 발생 시간, 오동작 형태 및 원인에 대해서 조사 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 119 구조건수에 대해 단순 전원 리셋으로 재가동된 경우가 전체 24[%]를 차지하고, 갇힘 원인별 분류로 판별하면 단순 정전이 8.2[%]를 차지하는 것으로 조사 되었다. 분석 결과는 현장 전원 품질 측정 및 모의시험을 통하여 승강기 전기적 장해에 대한 상호 연관성을 분석하는데 자료로 이용될 것이다.

LCD 글래스 핸들링 로봇의 실시간 정적 처짐 보상 (Real-time Static Deflection Compensation of an LCD Glass-Handling Robot)

  • For last couple of decades, uses of TFI-LCDs have been expanded to many FPD(Flat Panel Display) applications including mobile displays, desktop monitors and TVs. Furthermore, there has been growing demand for increasingly larger LCD TVs. In order to meet this demand as well as to improve productivity, LCD manufactures have continued to install larger-generation display fabrication facilities which are capable of producing more panels and larger displays per mother glass(substrate). As the size of mother glass becomes larger, a robot required to handle the glass becomes bigger accordingly, and its end effectors(arms) are extended to match the glass size. With this configuration, a considerable static deflection occurs at the end of the robot arms. In order to stack maximum number of mother glasses on a given footprint, the static deflection should be compensated. This paper presents a novel static deflection compensation algorithm. This algorithm requires neither measurement instrument nor additional vertical axis on the robot. It is realized by robot controller software. The forward and inverse kinematics considering compensation always guarantees a unique solution, so the proposed algorithm can be applied to an arbitrary robot position. The algorithm reduced static deflection by 40% in stationary robot state experiment. It also improved vertical path accuracy up to 60% when the arm was running at its maximum speed. This algorithm has been commercialized and successfully applied to a seventh-generation LCD glass-handling robot.

3톤급 연안어선용 태양광 발전장치의 전원공급 성능 (Power supply performance photovoltaic (PV) system for 3-ton class fishing vessel)

  • This study describes the result on PV system for evaluating the performance of small fishing boats. Photovoltaic system with 200 watts power generation facilities on the 3-ton fishing boat was carried. Load test was performed on the condition that the work lamps lit during night operations. As a result the performance can be used for more than two hours at 60 watt work lamps. The load test was performed on the condition that fishing vessels are on the cruising condition at sea. The solar power systems have been investigated as a power generation efficiency of about 36.55%. Additional tests show that the power generation efficiency is difficult to expect a maximum of 50% or more. Fuel consumption of fishing boats by installing a solar power system is reduced. Also the PV system is useful for the verification of their availability for fishing vessels as well as the satisfaction of the fishermen. The results for the durability of the photovoltaic device is acceptable, including a solar panel, controller and the performance exhibited no breakage in the harsh marine environment or failure so far. The installed PV system was confirmed that the durability with at least 2 years.

공구파손감지용 비젼시스템의 NC실장에 관한 연구 (A Study on the NC Embedding of Vision System for Tool Breakage Detection)

  • In this research, a vision system for detecting tool breakage which is hardly detected by such indirect in-process measurement method as acoustic emission, cutting torque and motor current was developed and embedded into a PC-NC system. The vision system consists of CMOS image sensors, a slit beam laser generator and an image grabber board. Slit beam laser was emitted on the tool surface to separate the tool geometry well from the various obstacles surrounding the tool. An image of tool is captured through two steps of signal processing, that is, median filtering and thresholding and then the tool is estimated normal or broken by use of change of the centroid of the captured image. An air curtain made by the jetting high-pressure air in front of the lens was devised to prevent the vision system from being contaminated by scattered coolant, cutting chips in cutting process. To embed the vision system to a Siemens PC-NC controller 840D NC, an HMI(Human Machine Interface) program was developed under the Windows 95 operating system of MMC103. The developed HMI is placed in a sub window of the main window of 840D and this program can be activated or deactivated either by a soft key on the operating panel or M codes in the NC part program. As the tool breakage is detected, the HMI program emit a command for automatic tool change or send alarm to the NC kernel. Evaluation test in a high speed tapping center showed the developed system was successful in detection of the small-radius tool breakage.
