SPEECH SYNTHESIS IN THE TIME DOMAIN BY PITCH CONTROL USING LAGRANGE INTERPOLATION(TD-PCULI)

  • In this paper a new speech synthesis method in the time domain using mono-syllables is proposed. It is to overcome the degradation of the synthetic speech quality by the synthesis method in the frequency domain and to develop an algorithm in the time domain for the prosodic control. In particular when we use a method in a time domain with mono-syllable as a synthesis unit it will be the main issues which are to control th pitch period and to smooth the energy pattern. As a solution to the pitch control, a method using Lagrange interpolation is suggested. As a solution to the other problem, an algorithm which can control the amplitude envelop shape of mono-syllable is proposed. As the results of experiments it was possible to synthesize unlimited Korean speeches including the prosody control. Accoding to the MOS evaluation the quality and the naturality in them was improved to be a good level.

인공위성 자세제어를 위한 H-infinity 제어기 설계 알고리즘 비교 연구 (Comparison Study of H-infinity Controller Design Algorithms for Spacecraft Attitude Control)

  • 폐루프 기준으로 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기를 설계하는 알고리즘에는 3가지(2-ARE, mu-synthesis, LMI) 방법이 있다. 본 논문에서 3가지 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계 알고리즘에 대한 기초 이론을 종합하고, Matlab$^{TM}$에 구현된 함수가 사용될 경우, 실무입장에서 가장 적절하다고 판단되는 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계 알고리즘 제시를 위해 인공위성 자세 제어기 설계 후 결과를 비교 분석하였다: 2-ARE 방법과 LMI 방법은 robust stability, robust performance 및 control authority 측면에서 거의 유사하였으나, LMI 방법에 비해 2-ARE 방법이 weighting 함수설계에 더 민감하였고, mu-synthesis 방법은 다른 2가지 설계 방법에 비해 성능면에서 다소 떨어지고, control authority가 크게 나타났다. 따라서 인공위성 자세제어 설계를 위해 실무 관점에서 LMI 방법이 더 편리한 설계 알고리즘이라는 결론을 얻었다.

Robust Control of a Glass Fiber Composite Beam using $\mu$-Synthesis Algorithm

  • A study on the robust control of a composite beam with a distributed PVDF sensor and piezo-ceramic actuator is presented in this paper. $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ natural frequencies are considered in the modeling, because robust control theory which has robustness to structured uncertainty is adopted to suppress the vibration. If the controllers designed by $H_{\infty}$ theory do not satisfy control performance, it is improved by $\mu$-synthesis method with D-K iteration so that the $\mu$-controller based on the structured singular value satisfies the nominal performance and robust performance. Simulation and experiment were carried out with the designed controller and the verification of the robust control properties was presented by results.

  • This paper presented to design a robust turbo-generator control system using {{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis for improving small-signal stability. Application study of{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis is more appropriate in this system since a turbo-generator system is usually operated under circumstance of unmeasurable modelling uncertainty and external disturbance. The{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control theory was briefly reviewed for good understanding and the reasonable approach. The design results are simulated for a case study and to check the system performance in comparison with currently operating Lead/Lag filtered PSS performance.

  • In this paper we design the model following ${\mu}$-synthesis control system for optimal fuel-injection of diesel engine using genetic algorithms. To do this, we give gain and dynamics parameters to the weighting functions and apply genetic algorithms with reference model to the optimal determination of weighting functions that are given by D-K iteration method which can design ${\mu}$-synthesis controller in the state space. These weighting functions are optimized simultaneously in the search domain selected adequately. The effectiveness of this ${\mu}$-synthesis control system for fuel-injection is verified by computer simulation.

  • This paper presents the vibration control of a glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite beam with a distributed PVDF sensor and piezo-ceramic achlator. The three types of different controllen which are PID, H$\infty$ , and p-synthesis ontrollcr are employed to achieve vibration suppression in the transient vibration of composite beam. In the H$\infty$ , controller design, 1st and 2nd natural frequencies are considered in the modeling, because robust control theory which has robustness to struchred uncertainty is adopled Lo suppress the vibration. If the controller designed by H$\infty$ , theory does not satisfy control performance, it is improved by $\mu$ -synthesis method with D-K iteration so that the$\mu$-contoller based on the structured singular value satisfies the nominal performance and robust performance Simulations and experiments were carried out with the designed controllers m order to demonstrate the suppression efficiency of each controller.

LMI-Based Synthesis of Robust Iterative Learning Controller with Current Feedback for Linear Uncertain Systems

  • This paper addresses the synthesis of an iterative learning controller for a class of linear systems with norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. We take into account an iterative learning algorithm with current cycle feedback in order to achieve both robust convergence and robust stability. The synthesis problem of the developed iterative learning control (ILC) system is reformulated as the ${\gamma}$-suboptimal $H_{\infty}$ control problem via the linear fractional transformation (LFT). A sufficient convergence condition of the ILC system is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, the ILC system with fast convergence rate is constructed using a convex optimization technique with LMI constraints. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Flat belt(FB) type high pressure apparatus has been succesfully utilized in various high pressure experimental stations in Korea and Japan to conduct HPHT (high pressure and high temperature) diamond synthesis. Present paper discusses pressure calibration of FB apparatus at high temperature to establish P-T condition of diamond synthesis. We also present some examples of controling P-T condition through careful experimental set-up of the high pressure sample cells. Finally we discuss reproducibility of pressure and temperature condition of the HPHT diamond synthesis.
