스마트 폰 동영상을 활용한 피드백 자율실습이 기본간호수기 수행능력, 수행자신감 및 학습만족도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Self-directed Feedback Practice using Smartphone Videos on Basic Nursing Skills, Confidence in Performance and Learning Satisfaction)

  • Purpose: This study was done to verify effects of a self-directed feedback practice using smartphone videos on nursing students' basic nursing skills, confidence in performance and learning satisfaction. Methods: In this study an experimental study with a post-test only control group design was used. Twenty-nine students were assigned to the experimental group and 29 to the control group. Experimental treatment was exchanging feedback on deficiencies through smartphone recorded videos of nursing practice process taken by peers during self-directed practice. Results: Basic nursing skills scores were higher for all items in the experimental group compared to the control group, and differences were statistically significant ["Measuring vital signs" (t=-2.10, p=.039); "Wearing protective equipment when entering and exiting the quarantine room and the management of waste materials" (t=-4.74, p<.001) "Gavage tube feeding" (t=-2.70, p=.009)]. Confidence in performance was higher in the experimental group compared to the control group, but the differences were not statistically significant. However, after the complete practice, there was a statistically significant difference in overall performance confidence (t=-3.07. p=.003). Learning satisfaction was higher in the experimental group compared to the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (t=-1.67, p=.100). Conclusion: Results of this study indicate that self-directed feedback practice using smartphone videos can improve basic nursing skills. The significance is that it can help nursing students gain confidence in their nursing skills for the future through improvement of basic nursing skills and performance of quality care, thus providing patients with safer care.

비선형 Look-Up Table을 통한 영상 화질 개선에 관한 연구 (Study on image quality improvement using Non-Linear Look-Up Table)

  • The role of radiology department has been greatly increased in the past few years as the technology in the medical imaging devices improved and the introduction of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) to the conventional film-based diagnostic structure is a truly remarkable factor to the medical history. In addition, the value of using digital information in medical imaging is highly expected to grow as the technology over the computer and the network improves. However, the current medical practice, using PACS is somewhat limited compared to the film-based conventional one due to a poor image quality. The image quality is the most important and inevitable factor in the PACS environment and it is one of the most necessary steps to more wide practice of digital imaging. The existing image quality control tools are limited in controlling images produced from the medical modalities, because they cannot display the real image changing status. Thus, the image quality is distorted and the ability to diagnosis becomes hindered compared to the one of the film-based practice. In addition, the workflow of the radiologist greatly increases; as every doctor has to perform his or her own image quality control every time they view images produced from the medical modalities. To resolve these kinds of problems and enhance current medical practice under the PACS environment, we have developed a program to display a better image quality by using the ROI optical density of the existing gray level values. When the LUT is used properly, small detailed regions, which cannot be seen by using the existing image quality controls are easily displayed and thus, greatly improves digital medical practice. The purpose of this study is to provide an easier medical practice to physicians, by applying the technology of converting the H-D curves of the analog film screen to the digital imaging technology and to preset image quality control values to each exposed body part, modality and group of physicians for a better and easier medical practice. We have asked to 5 well known professional physicians to compare image quality of the same set of exam by using the two different methods: existing image quality control and the LUT technology. As the result, the LUT technology was enormously favored over the existing image quality control method. All the physicians have pointed out the far more superiority of the LUT over the existing image quality control method and highly praised its ability to display small detailed regions, which cannot be displayed by existing image quality control tools. Two physicians expressed the necessity of presetting the LUT values for each exposed body part. Overall, the LUT technology yielded a great interest among the physicians and highly praised for its ability to overcome currently embedded problems of PACS. We strongly believe that the LUT technology can enhance the current medical practice and open a new beginning in the future medical imaging.

근무지 유형에 따른 치과감염관리 인지도 및 실천도 조사 (The Cognition and Practice of Infection Control in Dental Workplace)

  • 본 연구는 대구 및 경북의 치과위생사들을 대상으로 치과 감염관리의 인식과 실천도를 조사하였으며, 이전의 연구를 참조하여 수정 및 보완 후 설문 조사하였다. 근무지 유형에 따라 치과의원보다는 치과병원에서, 치과 감염관리 담당자 및 감염관리 교육의 프로그램의 여부에 따라 다르게 나타남이 나타났다. 또한 치과 감염관리의 인지도와 실천도는 근무지 유형에 따라 개인방어, 무균술식법, 방사선 장비를 포함한 치과 장비, 감염성 폐기물과 세탁물 관리에서 유의하게 차이를 보였으며, 즉 치과 의원보다 치과병원이 감염관리 인지도 및 실천도가 높았다. 따라서 치과병원에서 감염 예방을 최소화하기 위해, 감염관리 및 감염관리의 정규 교육 및 가이드라인이 필요하며, 치과의 특성을 반영하는 지표 및 프로그램 개발 등이 빨리 도입 되어야 하며, 향후 치과의원(의원급 소형병원)에서의 감염 방지 및 평가 프로그램에 대한 연구 및 정부의 제도도 필요하다.

치과 보철물 제작 과정에서 감염 관리에 관한 치과 종사자의 인지도 및 실천도에 대한 연구 (The study of awareness and practice of infection control on dental practitioners during the prosthodontic treatment)

  • 목적:이 연구의 목적은 보철물 제작 과정에서 감염 관리에 관한 치과 종사자의 인지도 및 실천도를 평가하기 위함이다. 대상 및 방법: 연구 대상은 대전 지역에 종사하는 치과의사, 치과위생사, 치과기공사로 구성되었다(n=126). 설문지는 연구 대상의 일반적 특성, 교육 관련 문항, 치과 보철 치료 과정에서 감염 관리에 관한 인지도와 실천도에 대한 문항으로 이루어졌으며 연구의 취지에 대한 설명 후 직접 기입하게 하였다. 인지도와 실천도는 1에서 5 사이 값을 갖는 Likert 척도를 이용하여 측정하였다. 인지도 및 실천도에 대한 평균을 계산하였고, 직종간 차이를 검정하기 위해 분산분석 시행하였으며, 인지도가 실천도에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과: 전체 응답자의 27.7%는 치과 보철 치료와 관련된 감염 관리 교육이 부족하다고 응답하였다. 치과 보철치료와 관련된 감염관리 인지도와 실천도의 평균값은 각각 $2.72{\pm}0.80$, $1.58{\pm}0.88$으로 나타났다. 감염 관리 교육을 받았다고 답한 응답자의 실천도는 $1.62{\pm}0.9$, 받지 못했다고 답한 응답자의 실천도는 $1.31{\pm}0.49$로 나타났다. 현재 근무하는 곳에 감염 관리 지침서가 있는 응답자의 인지도는 $3.01{\pm}0.91$, 없는 응답자의 경우 $2.56{\pm}0.70$로 나타났다. 결론: 1. 대학 교육과정 중 감염 관리 교육을 받은 응답자는 그렇지 않은 응답자에 비해 실천도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 2. 근무지에 감염 관리 지침서를 갖고 있는 응답자는 그렇지 않은 응답자에 비해 인지도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 3. 치과 보철물 제작과정에서의 감염 관리에 대한 인지도와 실천도 사이에 상관관계가 존재했으며, 인지도가 높을수록 실천도가 높게 나타났다. 4. 치과 보철물 제작과정에서의 감염 관리에 대한 실천도는 인지도에 비해 낮게 나타났다.

임상실습을 경험한 보건계열 학생들의 임파워먼트 향상에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Influencing Factors on Empowerment Improvement in Health-related College Students Experienced Clinical Practice)

  • 임상실습을 경험한 보건계열 학생들의 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실습교육요인과 실습기관요인으로 구분하여 분석함으로써, 학교 실습교육에 대한 올바른 방향을 제시하고, 임상실습기관에서 효율적으로 실습이 이루어지도록 도움을 주고자 하였다. 이를 평가하기 위한 임파워먼트 척도는 자아존중감, 자기통제, 대인통제, 전공진로통제, 전공에 대한 사기, 지식 및 기술적 성장으로 구성되었으며, 척도의 신뢰도 Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.944로 높았다. 보건계열 학생들의 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는 요인은 성별(${\beta}$=-.029), 학과 선택 만족여부(${\beta}$=.194), 슈퍼비전 만족도(${\beta}$=.196), 학교실습수업만족도(${\beta}$=.204) 이었다. 즉 보건계열학과의 학생들의 임파워먼트를 높이기 위해서 학생은 본인의 학과에 만족하며 실습수업에 충실히 임하여야 하고, 슈퍼바이저는 체계적인 실습교육이 될 수 있도록 임상지침서를 충분히 활용하며, 학생들과 지지적인 관계를 형성하여야 한다. 학교에서는 사전에 실습과목이 수강될 수 있도록 하고, 학생들이 원하는 실습기관과 실습기간을 정할 필요가 있고, 실습 전에 충분한 실습 오리엔테이션을 하는 것이 도움이 될 것이다.

간호사 확보에 따른 노인요양병원 간호인력의 병원감염관리 인지도 및 실천도 (Perception and Practice of Hospital Infection Control of Nursing Staff depending on the Supplementation of Nurses in Long-term Care Hospitals)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the perception and practice of hospital infection control of nursing staff in long-term care hospitals by the level of supplementation of nurses. Methods: The participants were 212 nurses and nurse assistants in 13 long-term care hospitals in a metropolitan city and the data were gathered by self-reported questionnaires during August 2011 and analyzed by SPSS/WIN program. Results: The beds per a nurse were 15, and the proportion of nurses among nursing staff in long-term care hospitals was about 33%. In general, the level of infection control in practice was lower than that of perception. The highest perception and practice domain was 'Management of disinfection/contamination', and the lower level domains were 'Personal hygiene' and 'Hand washing' There were statistically significant differences in the hospital infection control of perception and practice depending on age, education, career in long-term care hospital, job position, the quantity of beds, nurse, and nurse assistant, beds per a nurse and proportion of nurses in hospitals. Conclusion: According to these results, the systematic and continual education on hospital infection control of the nursing staff in long-term hospitals should be carried out. In addition, the policy to add more nurses into long-term care hospitals must be implemented.

참여학습과 관찰학습의 실습만족도 및 임상수기술 (Satisfaction of Practice and Clinical Skill in Participation Learning and Observation Learning)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare satisfaction of practice and clinical skill in different participation learning and observation learning, and to offer the basic data to promote quality of nursing education. Method: The study used a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post-test design. The subjects were 62 nursing students of K college in Jeonbuk, and the period of data gathering was limited from 19 Nov. 2006 to 30 Nov. 2006. Experience group was taught by hand-on education and control group was taught by conventional education. The instrument tools included self-efficacy, satisfaction of practice and clinical skill. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS-PC programme. Result: The results of this study were as follows: There was statistically a significance difference between the two group about satisfaction of practice(t=2.011 p=.043), and clinical skill(t=11.997, p=.000). Self-efficacy showed a significantly positive correlation with satisfaction of practice(r=.476, p=.000) and clinical skill(r=.178, p=.014). Also, satisfaction of practice showed a significantly positive correlation with clinical skill(r=.l82, p=.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that hand-on education is an effective learning method to nursing students. By utilizing hand-on education, makes nursing students plan self-directed nursing performance and improve their clinical skills.

The Effects of Dictation Practice in English Listening Classes

  • This study investigated the effects of dictation practice, in terms of listening proficiency and the use of listening strategy. The research was implemented for 15 weeks with 89 freshmen and sophomores at a Korean university. The subjects were divided into an experimental group and a control group. All conditions were the same in both groups, except that the experimental group had dictation practice on a regular basis in their listening classes through one semester. For the purpose of the study, two research questions were set; 1) Does dictation practice improve listening proficiency? 2) What are the differences in the use of listening strategies between the two groups? Does dictation practice make the participants use different listening strategies? A sample TOEIC listening test was conducted as a pre-test and post-test. A questionnaire was used to find out the differences in the use of listening strategies between the two groups. The results of this study reveal that there was no statistically difference in improvement between the two groups; however, the experimental group scored much higher on the post-test than the pre-test compared with the control group. In regard to listening strategies, among 6 listening strategies, the use of metacognitive listening strategies had a significant difference between the two groups. On the basis of the results, the study suggested some guidelines for dictation practice in EFL listening classes and called for more studies on its effects.

뇌졸증 환자 돌보기 교육이 보호자의 지식과 실천에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Education on Knowledge and Practice of Caregivers of the Stroke Patient)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of stroke patient care education on the knowledge and practice of caregivers of stroke patients. Method: Data was collected from December 15, 2004 to March 30, 2005. The research design was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. The subjects were forty primary caregivers of stroke patients who were hospitalized in a neurology unit of a university hospital. Forty caregivers, twenty in the experimental group and twenty in the control group were assigned. The experimental group participated 2 times in an education class given by the researcher Data analysis included -test, and t-test using the SPSS program. Result: Knowledge(t=5..87, p=0.00) and practice(t=5.53, p=0.00) of the experimental group were significantly different from the control group. Conclusion: The stroke patient care education developed in this study shows a significant promotion of knowledge and practice of caregivers. Thus this program can be recommanded as an intervention model for stroke patients and caregivers.

임상실습 간호대학생을 위한 동사섭 훈련 적용 주장훈련의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effects of Assertiveness Training applying Dongsasub Training for Nursing Students in Clinical Practice)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop assertiveness training applying Dongsasub training for junior nursing students, and to verify effectiveness of the training on assertiveness behavior, self-esteem, clinical practice stress, and clinical competence. Methods: The study design was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Participants were 63 nursing students in clinical training (31 students in the experimental group and 32 students in the control group). The assertiveness training applying Dongsasub training consisted of four sessions. Outcome variables included assertiveness behavior, self-esteem, clinical practice stress, and clinical competence. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher's exact test and independent samples t-test with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: Scores of assertiveness behavior (t=-2.49, p=.015), self-esteem (t=-4.80, p <.001) and clinical competence (t=-2.33, p=.023) were significantly higher and clinical practice stress (t=4.22, p <.001) was significantly lower in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Results indicate that the assertiveness training applying Dongsasub training can be used as a nursing intervention to lower clinical practice stress and improve the clinical competence of nursing students.
