Self-Validating 지능형 센서를 사용한 디지털 제어기의 설계 (Design of Digital Controllers with Self-Validating Intelligent Sensors)

  • We are concerned with processing methods of the measurement values of sensors in the control system. When some faults happen to sensor components, the measurement value of sensors cause the malfunction of the plant. So it is necessary to detect and reduce the influence of faults to control with reliability for the overall system. The sensor status must be always good for best demonstration of the controller performance. A self-validating sensor detects the sensor state from the measurement value, reconstruct a soft sensor and can improve reliability of the sensor. If sensor faults, the sensor is detected and reconstructed with the best estimate from its correlation to other sensors and historical data. It is applied to the control of a flexible link system with the sensor fault problems in the light sensor module for position to show the applicability. In this paper, we propose a digital controller which reduces deflection of the moving set-point by reconstructing output of a sensor when the sensor fault is detected.

  • The intelligent software system for nuclear power plants (NPPs) has been conceptually designed in this study. Its design goals are to operate NPPs in n improved manner and to support operators' cognitive tasks. It consists of six major modules such as "Information Processing," "Alarm Processing," "Procedure Tracking," "Performance Diagnosis," and "Event Diagnosis" modules for operators and "Malfunction Diagnosis" module for maintenance personnel. Most of the modules have been developed for several years and the others are under development. After the completion of development, they will be combined into one system that would be main parts of advanced control rooms in NPPs. that would be main parts of advanced control rooms in NPPs.

  • In general, electronic conveyor scales are installed in a relatively distributed manner on the crushed rock and sand production site. It is one of the time-consuming and difficult engineering works to monitor and control the plant operation status such as the management of measuring data, malfunction of belt conveyor, and fault of electronic conveyor scale. Therefore, to alleviate the inefficient problems and to monitor the operating plant in the online and remote control room, a remote calibration and real-time monitoring system, which is practically applied to the electronic conveyor scale system and verified by onsite experiment, is developed based on the LabVIEW.

  • The SSPA makes the power level of EIRP up to 16W, and compensates for temperature to the SSPA´s maximum stability. The up and the down converters are dually conversed like as individual synthesizers for selecting of independent transmit-receive transponder. The function of the up-converter is to convert the 70MHz IF signal modulated in the indoor unit modem into a 14.0 ∼ 14.5 GHz Ku-band up-link signal to be sent to the antenna. The down-converter converts the 12.25 ∼ 12.75 GHz Ku-band down-link signal or a trouble malfunction of SSPA may be a fatal factor to operation of the whole satellite communication network.   • The development of informational technology has lead to a sharp change in not only the existing way of operations and management, but the way of human life or thinking as well. Those shifts of the paradigm in information technology have also affected Individuals to the organizational structure. A series of unexpected problems was, however, accompanied by the advance in informational technology, which had broaden its own area of application. Those problems include the losses of property or data the malfunction of systems and their wastefulness would result in, continuous increases in computer crimes, reliability and efficiency of the functional process with the development of information systems, such as the processing problems of inaccurate data, economical issues, and subjects related to safety, as interruptions of privacy, which would result from lots of one's exposure to the drains of personal information. Accordingly, Auditors' roles of information systems, for now, is more important than anything else in that they are responsible for the objective assessment of relevance and effectiveness of internal control systems under the environment of information systems.   • The power system and control system constantly reveals surge voltage such as switching surge of lighting devices and power conversion devices, operating and stops surge of rotating devices, charge & discharge surge, opening & closing surge of circuit breakers and the like. Such a surge voltages can cause damage or malfunction of the element such as CPU, Memory, semiconductor etc. In the industry, in order to protect the system from the surge voltage, a surge protector with low discharge starting voltage, fast response time, and low capacitance is required, and technical development research for that is ongoing. In this paper, in order to solve the problem of the existing GDT discharge tube not discharging from the transient voltage which is higher than the commercial voltage and lower than the discharge voltage of the discharge element, we have developed a discharge element having the control electrode & control circuit. The discharge element having the control electrode and the control circuit can control the discharge voltage according to the needs of the consumer and can satisfy the requirement of the discharge element and the technology of the surge protector downsizing technology and the surge protection technology. It is judged to be effective for development.

  • As the technologies of electronic device have advanced these days, most of mechanical systems are designed with electronic control unit to take advantage of control parameter adaption to operating conditions and firmware flexibilities as well. On-board diagnosis, which detects the system malfunction and identifies potential source of error with its own diagnostic criteria, and fail-safe that can switch the mode of operation in view of recognized error characteristics enables easy maintenance and troubleshooting as well as system protection. This paper dealt with the development of diagnosis and fail-safe function for proportional flow control valve. All type of errors related to valve control system components are investigated and assigned to a specific hexadecimal codes. Cumulative error detection algorithm is applied in order for the sensitivity and reliability to be appropriate. Embedded simulator which runs simultaneously with system program provides the virtual error simulation environment for expeditious development of error detection algorithm. The diagnosis function was verified both with solenoid valve and embedded simulator test and it will enhance the valve control system monitoring function.

  • Recently, the small-size mobile robots with remote-control are rapidly growth which market of mobile is increased in the world. Especially, the smart-phones are widely used for interface device in the small size of a mobile robot. The research goal is control system design which is applied to miniaturization of a mobile robot using smart-phone and it can be confirmed performance for designed system. Meanwhile, the fabrication of mini-mobile robot can also be remote-control operation through the WIFI performance of a smart-phone. The smart-phone is used to remote-control for robot operation which control data transmit to robot via the WIFI network. To drive the robot, we can observe by the smart-phone screen and it can easily adjust the robot drive condition and direction by smart-phone button. Consequentially, there was no malfunction and images were printed out well. However, in drive, because of blind spot, robot was bumped into obstacle. Therefore, the additional test is necessary to sensor for blind spot which sensor can be equipment to mobile robot. In addition, the experiment with robot object recognition is needed.

다중화 구조 제어시스템에 대한 신뢰도 분석 (Reliability Analysis of Redundant Architecture of Dependable Control System)

  • Since a slight malfunction of control systems in a nuclear power plant may cause huge catastrophes, such control systems usually have multiple redundancy and reliable features, and their reliability and availability should be analyzed and verified thoroughly. This paper performed the reliability analysis of the SPLC (Safety Programmable Logic Controller) that is under developed as the control systems for the next generation nuclear power plant. One of the key features of SPLC is that it has multiple redundancy modes as faults happen, which means the reliability analysis for one fixed redundant model is not enough to analyze the reliability of SPLC. With considering this reconfigurable concept, FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) was used to capture fault-relationship among sub-modules. The analysis results show that MTTF (Mean Time to Fault) of SPLC is 45,080 hours, which is a about 4.5 times longer than the regulation, 10,000 hours.

통신기반 열차제어시스템 성능평가용 계측시스템 구현 및 적용 (Implementation & Application of Instrumentation System on Performance Evaluation for Korea-Radio Train Control System)

  • This study aims to implement an instrumentation system measuring and analysing real-time data of information flow between respective subunits composing train control system as the performance evaluation method for wireless communication based urban railway train control system under development for a Korean model. It analyses system functional requirements regarding subsystems composing wireless communication based train control system and test items for functions presented in each specification and examines data and measurement point for measuring according to test items in order to implement an instrumentation system. And, it clearly defines requirements of an instrumentation system to avoid malfunction or error in operation of train control system. It reviews data processing method and display method for effective analysis of data flow between respective subunits with measured data, designs and makes an instrumentation system. Ultimately, it applies to a performance test of train control system and makes sure an instrumentation system in normal working order.
