Precast deck joints have larger crack width than cast-in-place concrete decks. The initial crack typically occurs at the maximum moment but cracks on precast joints are significant and lead to failure of the deck. The present crack equation is applied to cast-in-place decks, and requires correction to calculate the crack width of precast deck joints. This research aims to study the crack width correction equation of precast decks by performing static tests using high strength and normal strength concrete. Based on experimental results, the bending strength of the structural connections of the current precast deck is satisfied. However it is not suitable to calculate and control the crack width of precast loop connections using the current design equation. A crack width calculation equation is proposed for crack control of precast deck loop joints. Also included in this paper are recommendations to improve the crack control of loop connections.

In this article, we study a reduced-order modelling for distributed feedback control problem of the Burgers equations. Brief review of the centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT) are provided. A weighted (nonuniform density) CVT is introduced and low-order approximate solution and compensator-based control design of Burgers equation is discussed. Through weighted CVT (or CVT-nonuniform) method, obtained low-order basis is applied to low-order functional gains to design a low-order controller, and by using the low-order basis order of control modelling was reduced. Numerical experiments show that a solution of reduced-order controlled Burgers equation performs well in comparison with a solution of full order controlled Burgers equation.
This paper describes some properties of a discrete algebraic Riccati equation and its application to $H^{\infty}$ control design. The conditions, under which an input weighting matrix can be found for a negative output weighting matrix in order that a solution P for a discrete algebraic equation may exist, are suggested in case of a stable A. This result is applied to a $H^{\infty}$ controller design for the special case of nonsingular B. It is based on a state feedback control law whose objective is to reduce the effect of input disterbances below a prespecified level. This law requires the solution of a modified algebraic Riccati equation, which provides an method for the $H^{\infty}$ optimization control problem approximately.ly.
This paper presents on approach to the position control of a robot manipulator by using a decentralized adaptive control scheme. The large scale system is regarded as the system which consists of many subsystems having interconnection. In each subsystem, a local control system is composed by feedforward and feedback component, one computes the nominal torque from the Newton-Euler equation, the other computes the perturbation equation which reduce the position error of the manipulator along the nominal trajectory. A computer simulation studies was conducted to evaluate and compare the performances of the proposed manipulator control scheme with those of the PD control and centralized control schemes.
In this paper deals with linearized control of induction motor by vector control. Output equation induced from d-q axies voltage and current equation of induction moter. The condition of induced equation is that rotor's current of axies has 0 and state current of D axies which was driven by synchronous speed is constant. The fully digital controlled induction motor drive system based on the proposed linearized method and the control circuit of system consists of 16bits micro computer and all the function are implemented with software. When the voltage source inverter control with PI controller is empolyed, in spite of secondary resistance Rr Variation, the Vector control condition is satisfied.

In discrete-time controlled system, sampling time is one of the critical parameters for control performance. It is useful to employ different sampling rates into the system considering the feasibility of measuring system or actuating system. The systems with the different sampling rates in their input and output channels are named multirate system. Even though the original continuous-time system is time-invariant, it is realized as time-varying state equation depending on multirate sampling mechanism. By means of the augmentation of the inputs and the outputs over one period, the time-varying system equation can be constructed into the time-invariant equation. The two multirate formulations have some trade-offs in the simplicity to construct the controller, the control performance. It is good issue to determine the suitable formulation in consideration of performance of them. In this paper, the two categories of multirate formulations will be compared in terms of the linear quadratic (LQ) cost function. The results are used to select the multirate formulation and the sampling rates suitable to the desired control performance.

The paper presents a digital speed control approach of induction motor systems by using a digital servo control method and a well-known second order differential equation as model. The basic concept of using the modeling equation stated in the above is induced from the control theory stand point such that we can describe usually the motor system connected by inverter, generator and load etc, just as a mechanical system to be controlled. The concept does not demand us the complicated vector-based modeling equation adopted in the traditional methods for the speed control of induction motor. Futhermore, the proposed speed control system can be treated as a single input and single output system. The effectiveness of the servo control system obtained by the above-mentioned design concept is illustrated by the experimental results in the presence of both step reference changes and load variations. It is observed from the experimental results that the steady state-error of the experimental set up becomes zero after some regulation time and the induction motor system is robust in spite of reference signal changes and load variations.
In this paper, we consider a thermoviscoelastic equation which has one end fixed and output feedback control at the other end. We prove the existence of solutions using the Galerkin method and then investigate the exponential stability of solutions by using multiplier technique.
Major objective of this paper is to develop the sliding mode control method for a nonlinear electro magnetic levitation system governed by a set of a second-order motion equation and a first-order electromagnetic equation. Simulations for initial responses were carried out to confirm the validity of the present design method.
In this paper, the mathematical model of the hydraulic control valve is formulated, that is, this dynamic modeling which includes the motion equations and continuity equations can analyze the dynamic characteristics of the hydraulic control valve. The control valve for the transmission has the Over Speed Protection to protect a hydraulic travel motor. Therefore, this simulation shows the over speed protection and researches the main design parameters. The results of the computer simulation were assured through the experiment. From the comparison between both results, it is shown that this simulation program is useful and effective.
