  • This paper proposes the Train Control Monitoring System (TCMS) for the LRT(light rail transit). With regard to information processing in car, we build a computer network in the car, turned the hardware required for train control into software, and developed the Train Control Monitoring System.

  • Process monitoring has been emphasized for the monitoring of complex system such as chemical processing industries to achieve the efficiency enhancement, quality management, safety improvement. Recently, ICA (Independent Component Analysis) based MSPC (Multivariate Statistical Process Control) was widely used in process monitoring approaches. Moreover, DICA (Dynamic ICA) has been introduced to consider the system dynamics. However, the existing approaches show the limitation that their performances are strongly dependent on the statistical distributions of control variables. To improve the limitation, we propose a novel approach for process monitoring by integrating DICA and LOF (Local Outlier Factor). In this paper, we aim to improve the fault detection rate with the proposed method. LOF detects local outliers by using density of surrounding space so that its performance is regardless of data distribution. Therefore, the proposed method not only can consider the system dynamics but can also assure robust performance regardless of the statistical distributions of control variables. Comparison experiments were conducted on the widely used benchmark dataset, Tennessee Eastman process (TE process), and showed the improved performance than existing approaches.

  • In this paper, the transfer function to the vehicle is derived from using system identification algorithm in connection with the driving vehicle. We design the adaptive cruise controller using the derived transfer function, and make it possible to monitoring and control the vehicle in real time using embedded system and technology of Internet.

  • In this paper, It is studied to control and to monitor the remote system state using HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) object communication. The remote control system is controlled by using a web browser or a application program. This system is organized by three different part depending on functionality-server part, client part, controller part. The java technology is used to composite the server part and the client part and C language is used for a controller. The server part is waiting for the request of client part and then the request is reached, the server part saves client data to the database and send a command set to the client part. The administrator can control the remote system just using a web browser. Remote part is worked by timer that is activated per 1 second. It gets the measurement data of the controller part, and then send the request to the server part and get a command set in the command repository of server part using the client ID. After interpreting the command set, the client part transfers the command set to the controller part. Controller part can be activated by the client part. If send command is transmitted by the client part, it sends sensor monitoring data to the client part and command set is transmitted then setting up the value of the controlled system.

  • With the development of CNC(Computer Numerical Control) and communication technology, the connotation and functions of Distributed Numerical Control have been greatly enlarged. In this study, we develop and implement a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multi-tasking operation capability for the machining cell with various NC(Numerical Control) and CNC machines. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, this system is interfaced with Shop Floor Control System, Machine Control System and Tool Preparation System using advanced networking method. In the implementation phase, we use the ORACLE DBMS (Database Management System) as the DBMS and Microsoft Visual C++ as the programming tools.

  • Displacement control of earth retaining wall is recognized as the most important item for insuring the stability of ground in urban deep excavation site near by major structure such as subway etc. The field monitoring system is classified by two types as manual system and automatic system. The application case of latter type of field monitoring is increased because real time measurement is possible in automatic system and that is correspondent with the recent constructional trend. Though the automatic monitoring system is more useful and advanced than manual monitoring system, accuracy of the system is not verified sufficiently. It was examined that the reliance of automatic monitoring system in this paper through the comparison of monitoring result obtained three urban excavation site in which the each type of monitoring system was executed concurrently. Result of the examination is that the two types of monitoring system is generally alike in view of monitoring result, so the engineering reliance of automatic system was confirmed in case site. This task was researched in restricted case site, it is expected more precise analysis from security of more data monitored and progressive study.

  • Automatic monitoring and controling system, especially DO and MLSS was faciliated for the nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiencies. Removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus by automatic monitoring and controling system, especially DO and SRT was have well adopted. and so it will be possible to use artificial intelligence logic control software such as fuzzy or neuro logic control system for WWT Plant.

  • The fuel charge is getting higher in navigation cost. Therefore, shipowners try to find the method for reducing oil consumption. ESS(Energy Saving System) is one of he method. ESS is the system consisted with two inverters, ESS control unit and monitoring system. Two inverters control two main sea water cooling pumps. In the ESS control Unit, the control algorithm finds optimized point to decrease a power consumption of main sea water cooling pumps. Monitoring system observes ESS not to work improperly. ESS is experimented in the laboratory with real condition and analyzed in every view. After experiment, the result of the experiment shows that the control algorithm works correctly and safely. ESS has a plan to be operated in the ship soon. In that case, additional devices are needed to connect ESS with cooling system of the vessel. So the development of addition device is needed and being studied.

  • One of the major reasons for recent blackout, like August 14, 2003 blackout in the US and Canada has been insufficient voltage/reactive power support. For the stable reactive power management, a new approach for the voltage monitoring and control structure is required in the market environment. This paper proposes the effective localized-voltage control scheme using the information from pilot buses at each zone. In this paper, the steady state voltage monitoring and control (SSVMC) is adopted and illustrated for the voltage control scheme during steady state because it is thought as the systemic algorithm to explain voltage profile phenomenon before and after contingencies. And the concept of electrical distance is applied to simultaneously achieve both clustering the voltage control zone, and selecting the pilot bus as the representative node at each control zone. Applying SSVMC based on the structure with clustering and pilot bus enables system operators to monitor and understand the system condition much more easily, to monitor and control the voltage in real-time more manageably, and to respond quickly to a disturbance. The proposed voltage control scheme has been tested on the IEEE 14-bus system with the numerical analysis to examine the system reliability and structure efficiency.

전력계통의 전압안정도향상을 위한 감시제어시스템 개발 (A Development of Monitoring and Control System for Improved the Voltage Stability in the Power System)

  • This paper was developed a monitoring and control system to use reactive power control algorithm. This algorithm could be improved voltage stability in power system. This method was controlled the voltage for stability improvement, effective usage of reactive power, and the increase of the power quality. PMS(Power Management System) has been calculate voltage sensitivity, and control reactive power compensation device. The voltage control was used to the FACTS, MSC/MSR(Mechanically Switched Capacitors/Reactors), and tap of transformer in power system. The reactive power devices in power system were control by voltage sensitivity ranking of each bus. Also, to secure momentary reactive power, it had been controlled as the rest of reactive power in the each bus. In here, reactive power has been MSC/MSR. The simulation result, First control was voltage control as fast response control of FACTS. Second control was voltage control through the necessary reactive power calculation as slow response control of MSR/MSR. Third control was secured momentary reactive reserve power. This control was method by cooperative control between FACTS and MSR/MSC. Therefore, the proposed algorithm was had been secured the suitable reactive reserve power in power system.
