Development of an Intelligent Security Robot System for Home Surveillance (가정용 지능형 경비 로봇 시스템 개발)

  • A security robot system named EGIS-SR is a mobile security robot through one of the new growth engine project in robotic industries. It allows home surveillance through an autonomous mobile platform using onboard cameras and wireless security sensors. EGIS-SR has many sensors to allow autonomous navigation, hierarchical control architecture to handle lots of situations in monitoring home surveillance and mighty networks to achieve unmanned security services. EGIS-SR is tightly coupled with a networked security environment, where the information of the robot is remotely connected with the remote cockpit and patrol man. It achieved an intelligent unmanned security service. The robot is a two-wheeled mobile robot and has casters and suspension to overcome a doorsill. The dynamic motion is verified through $ADAMS^{TM}$ simulation. For the main controller, PXA270 based hardware platform based on linux kernel 2.6 is developed. In the linux platform, data handling for various sensors and the localization algorithm are performed. Also, a local path planning algorithm for object avoidance with ultrasonic sensors and localization using $StarGazer^{TM}$ is developed. Finally, for the automatic charging, a docking algorithm with infrared ray system is implemented.

  • Along with the diversification of digital content services using wired/wireless networks, the market for the construction of base systems is growing rapidly. Cloud computing services are recognized for a reasonable cost of service and superior system operations. Cloud computing is convenient as far as system construction and maintenance are concerned; however, owing to the security risks associated with the system construction of actual cloud computing service, the ICT(Information and Communications Technologies) market is lacking regardless of its many advantages. In this paper, we conducted an experiment on a cloud computing security enhancement model to strengthen the security aspect of cloud computing and provide convenient services to the users. The objective of this study is to provide secure services for system operation and management while providing convenient services to the users. For secure and convenient cloud computing, a single sign-on (SSO) technique and a system access control technique are proposed. For user authentication using SSO, a security level is established for each user to facilitate the access to the system, thereby designing the system in such a manner that the rights to access resources of the accessed system are not abused. Furthermore, using a user authentication ticket, various systems can be accessed without a reauthorization process. Applying the security technique to protect the entire process of requesting, issuing, and using a ticket against external security threats, the proposed technique facilitates secure cloud computing service.

  • In these days it is rapidly increasing that multi-user, multi-layered commercial software developments for companies or public institutions. Security services are necessary for most of systems and the access control service is the essential of security services. Current access control methods that are used as access control policies are classified as Discretionary Access Control Mandatory Access Control and Role Based Access Control. However there are some inefficiencies when those methods are applied to current multi-user, multi-layered systems. Therefore it is required that a new access control method that takes complex system resources into account from the side of policy. In this paper extending previous Role Based of 'Behavior' and a basic model of the method. And we simply implement the method on the mobile agent based workflow management system that is a representative example of multi-user. multi-layered softwares and shows implementation results to tap possibilities of real-world application.

A Position Control of BLDC Motor in a Rail Guided System for the Un-maned Facility Security (무인 설비 감시용 레일 가이드 구동장치에서 BLDC 전동기의 위치 제어)

  • A low-cost BLDC motor with hall sensor is used to drive the position control of a facility security monitoring system in this paper. Low measurable frequency of the hall sensor signal in low-speed regions results in difficulty in obtaining accurate speed detection and position control. To improve system control performance, we propose a variable gain of position controller and stop mode control scheme according to the motor speed and error position with pre-set deceleration time. The proposed stop mode control scheme is activated around the stop position to forcibly move the BLDC motor to the stop position in low speed. In the proposed stop mode, the motor current is controlled by the actual speed with the reference rotating angle. The control performance of the proposed position control is verified through experiments at the actual rail guided facility security monitoring system.

  • In recent years, due to the demand for operating efficiency and cost reduction of industrial facilities, remote access via the Internet is expanding. the control network accelerates from network separation to network connection due to the development of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) technology. Transition of control network is a new opportunity, but concerns about cybersecurity are also growing. Therefore, manufacturers must reflect security compliance and standards in consideration of the Internet connection environment, and enterprises must newly recognize the connection area of the control network as a security management target. In this study, the core target of the control system security threat is defined as the network boundary, and issues regarding the security architecture configuration for the boundary and the role & responsibility of the working organization are covered. Enterprises do not integrate the design organization with the operation organization after go-live, and are not consistently reflecting security considerations from design to operation. At this point, the expansion of the control network is a big transition that calls for the establishment of a responsible organization and reinforcement of the role of the network boundary area where there is a concern about lack of management. Thus, through the organization of the facility network and the analysis of the roles between each organization, an static perspective and difference in perception were derived. In addition, standards and guidelines required for reinforcing network boundary security were studied to address essential operational standards that required the Internet connection of the control network. This study will help establish a network boundary management system that should be considered at the enterprise level in the future.

  • There are many security models for database systems using policy-based access control. RBAC (Role-based Access Control) is used for complementing MAC (Mandatory Access Control) and DAC (Discretionary Access Control) and is for performing flexibly security policies meet applied environment. We implemented the database security system that applies DAC, MAC, and RBAC to meet security requirements of users. However, security policies are constructed redundantly whenever security policies are needed to each user in this system. Even though the proposed security system can flexibly control more complicated 'read' access to various data sizes for individual users, it is obvious that there is a possibility that a new policy can be a duplication of existing policies. In this paper, we introduce the problem of policy duplication and propose the policy management module. With this proposed module, constructed policies are checked for duplication and deleted or merged with existing policies.

  • According to the development of information processing technology and mobile communication technology, the utilization of mobile banking systems is drastically increasing in banking system. In the foreseeable future, it is expected to increase rapidly the demands of mobile banking in bank systems with the prevalence of smart devices and technologies. However, the keeping 'security' is very important in banking systems that handles personal information and financial assets. But it is very difficult to improve the security of banking systems only with the vulnerabilities and faults analysis methods of information security. Hence, in this paper, we accomplish the analysis of security risk factor and security vulnerability that occur in mobile banking system. With analyzed results, we propose the information security control and management processes for assessing and improving security based on the mechanisms which composes mobile banking system.

  • Intranet system for use within an organization, usually a corporation, is to basically pass through user authentication, but information can be leaked, modified, and deleted by malevolent users who disguise an authorized user or due to user's mistakes in using various functions of web browser. Thus, there is a need for measures to protect the information from illegal use, transformation through partial modification, and illegal leakage such as fraudulent use. This paper presents a flexible Web Security Access Control system based ACM which Provide efficient suity Policy to Protect information in intranet. This Web Security Access Control system not only enhances security by Performing encryption/decryption of information in intranet but also, for sharing confidential information among departments, performs effective and useful access control by assigning different authority to the secured web page. And, by controlling the functions of client PC in various ways, information leakage on malicious purpose or by mistake can be prevented.

  • National-scale industrial control systems for gas, electric power, water processing, nuclear power, and traffic control systems increasingly use open networks and open standards protocols based on advanced information and communications technologies. The frequency of cyberattacks increases steadily because of the use of open networks and open standards protocols, but follow-up actions are limited. Therefore, the application of security solutions to an industrial control system is very important. However, it is not possible to apply security solutions to a real system because of the characteristics of industrial control systems. And a security system that can detect attacks without affecting the existing system is imperative. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an intrusion detection system based on packet analysis that can detect anomalous behaviors without affecting the industrial control system, and we verify the effectiveness of the proposed intrusion detection system by applying it in a test bed simulating a real environment.

  • The purpose of this study was to add CPTED to the information security area. The control items of ISO 27001 (11 types) and the application principles of CPTED (6 types) were mapped. And the relevance between the items was verified through the FGI meeting through 12 security experts. As a result of the survey, the control items with a relevance of at least 60% on average are security policy, physical and environmental security, accident management, and conformity. As a result, the comprehensive policy was shared with CPTED's items as a whole. The specialized control items are security organization, asset management, personnel security, operation management, access control, system maintenance, and continuity management. However, specialized control items were mapped with each item of CPTED. Therefore, information security certification and septed are related. As a result, environmental security can be added to the three major areas of security: administrative security, technical security, and physical security.
